First time Visiting this ice cream place in Marin. Came as recommended by friend. Ice cream was delicious and the lady serving was friendly.

We stopped by Frankie & Jo's right before closing. I had the matcha cookie crumble and the date shake. Even though it was late, the person helping us was still really friendly and helpful. A few items were already sold out, which was a little disappointing, but totally understandable that close to closing. The ice cream was really good. It was super creamy. The matcha flavor was nice and balanced, and the cookie crumble added a good texture. The date shake was also delicious with a natural sweetness. Only downside is that it's a bit pricey, but overall still a solid spot for a treat. It's also in a plaza with a bunch of surrounding restaurants so it's a perfect dessert spot for after dinner.

I liked this wine rose hibiscus sorbet! It was a bit on the boozy side but refreshing! Cute little ice cream shop!

Yummy plant based ice cream! Didn't even realize that it was plant based! LOL. Shop is tiny and cute. Unfortunately only had one person working. She did a great job but line started to get long. A few of their featured flavors were sold out. Prices were a bit steep but it was worth the try! Kids got dark chocolate, miso and mint brownies. I got the super cookies and cream! They were all delicious!

Vegan & Gluten free ice cream that taste quite good? Sign me up! Pricey for 2 scoops at $10+ w/ tax. Anything coffee for me. It tasted like roasted coconut too. Not sure if you like that but maybe they used coconut sugar? Mint brownie was refreshing but coarse. The brownie was not soft and chewy, it was more like "rocks." Not bad, just weird to chew ice cream and crackling. Friendly service.

With the weekend heat wave, we were enjoying Larkspur Landing with the family and decided to try Frankie & Jo's. To our surprise, this cute ice cream outpost is entirely vegan friendly and plant based..what does that mean? The ingredients used come specifically from plants ~ the ice cream base is 'gum-free coconut milk and organic, house-made oat milk or solely coconut milk'. FYI, if this is something that you've been searching for or this just isn't your jam. The flavors are so unique ~ like Cardamom Apple Pie for the Fall and California Cabin (black pepper cardamom shortbread cookie) to resemble cozying up by the fire surrounded by trees. They have a kids cup which is perfect for adults and littles alike, and since this is a grab & go, seating outside. We went with the Supercookies & Cream, Brown Sugar Vanilla, and the seasonal flavor 'Candy Bag' filled with yummy vegan peanut butter cup, coconut, and toffee candies with dry burned caramel. Very good, kiddo approved, and tummy-conscious approved. To note, popular flavors do sell out because this is a small and mighty spot, but there's a little something for everyone to enjoy. Elevated pricing, high quality, something different to taste and enjoy. Larkspur Landing does have parking, tight on weekends.

Frankie and Jo's has aways been a treat when visiting Seattle, so when I found out there was a singular new location in the Bay Area I jumped up from my couch and flapped my hands in excitement! To start, you should know they only serve vegan plant-based icecream here, so it's perfect if you have lactose intolerant friends like me! The next time I was in Marin, we swung by and got the Rhubarb and Yuzu, and Mint flavors. It's not as creamy as normal icecream, but the texture is close enough that you might not even notice it's made from oat and coconut milk. We've tried many flavors before and you can't really go wrong with any! The actual store is super small, basically only big enough to walk in and order your icecream and then get out. It is located in the Marin County Mart, so there's plenty of nice outdoor seating to enjoy your icecream at.

    Everything is sold out

We absolutely love Frankie & Jo's ice cream--ever since we first tried it in Seattle, we were hooked. When the Larkspur location opened in July 2023, we were so excited and have been coming regularly ever since. But after nearly two years, it's honestly baffling how poorly this location is managed when it comes to inventory. They're always sold out of so many things--most frustratingly, the waffle cones. It doesn't matter what day of the week or time of day you come, the answer is always the same: "We sold out earlier today." This has been a consistent issue since the shop opened, and at this point, it just feels like they don't even try. And we're not even talking about seasonal flavors--it's the basics. Imagine going to a gas station and they're constantly out of gas. That's what this feels like. To top it off, the staff often seems indifferent or even dismissive when you ask about missing items. For a brand that has such a loyal following and amazing product, it's frustrating to see this kind of experience at one of their locations. We love the ice cream, but we're beyond disappointed with the Marin store.

Not a regular milk ice cream, based on a coconut milk. Great service- let u sample. Amazing ambiance. Interesting flavors, not common flavors. $$$$

You can order ahead, but often the two people behind the counter are so overwhelmed with orders and long lines, that just getting their attention to grab your completed pizza is hard... they just don't look up while racing around the very small space. It's fun to watch them, like a well rehearsed choreographed dance. But the frenetic energy is not so fun. It would be helped if they just had one more person there during rush hours, to greet people, find out if your pizza is completed on the stack, rather than having to rudely jump the line and ask questions of these busy people.

What I will say is this: * apizza's pizzas are made to order, personal-sized, and ready in under 10 minutes; * the ingredients are fresh and creative; * the crust is very thin and goes well with the pizza; * the pizzas taste really good; and * all of them are priced under $10. On my first visit to this location I consumed my entire pizza in one sitting. On this visit, two of us each brought home half of our pizzas. The next morning I woke up to "these pizzas are great for breakfast too!". As I walked back out to the car following my visit to apizza I nodded at the salad place one door down saying "our meal would've cost twice as much there" and it would have. Is it "fast food"? Yes, but fast food that's in a different league from most. Good stuff this place is offering.

A few folks outside some inside. This made ordering quick and easy, and the food was prepared quickly; a benefit for us, perhaps not for the business. The place is still attractive and clean, with plenty of tables outside and inside. I did not that, as my last visit, there is no shade really provided for the outside seating, save ONE small umbrella. Ugh - not sure what the issue is, and being it was a sunny day, we opted to sit inside as much as the patio called to us. The inside is nice, too, though, and there is easy access to the soda fountain machine and condiments. There are still self-ordering kiosks, large digital menus, and of course, you can also order through the app (even if standing inside!) or at the counter. We ordered a bit of each - side, main, and dessert! There was a portabella "'Shroom" burger (with a crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun), cheese fries, a mac 'n' cheese, chicken bites, and a Key lime shake, a special offering! Damn the calories, full taste ahead! The food was indeed prepared quickly and served hot. The Shroom burger was my favorite last time, and for taste and texture this time was also delicious and good. The cheeses inside were melty-gooey, and the mushroom crispy. It was, though, much smaller than I remember - it fit within my hand! A con, against the price, for what is a nice option for veggies or anyone wanting a change in their burger. The chicken bites were smaller than expected in size, more like nuggets, but tasty. The mac 'n' cheese was also tasty, but also a bit small for the price. The fries are always good, and in this case, you need to dig to the bottom early on to scrape some of the melted cheese that dripped down back onto the fries. Very yummy. But the best part was the Key lime shake, a flavor I just love (cheesecake is my favorite iteration of this flavor) but this milkshake satisfied me greatly. A little pricier than their everyday shakes, but how often so you find a unique flavor like this! A win! Overall, a solid 4-stars for food flavor and quality, and also for ambience and environment. Price wise, it was about $40 for two of us, so not a great bargain, but given the economy today I have the same financial shock at other places as well. Still, a nice treat and we left happy.

My husband and I decided to give this spot a try after getting many rave reviews not only on yelp but on Eater SF (or maybe it was SFGate?). Anyway, we arrived around an hour before close, most places in this area close at 9pm btw. We were greeted by the host who walked in from near the kitchen area. We decided to sit outdoors since the weather was pleasant. We found a table for two near the projector showing a muted black and white film on the brick wall. The chairs had blankets over them just in case it gets chilly at night. It was very thoughtful. I decided to order their special 3 course meal including a white wine ($45!). It was like they had their own restaurant week specials like SF but I don't believe that exists in Marin. The 3 course meal included a beet salad, pasta (it was the screw shaped kind) with Bolognese and a tiramisu which was my fav of all 3. The white wine was a bit on the sweet side. My husband had the pappardelle pasta with oxtail. That was a treat! I liked his dish more than mine but all of it was so much we had to take half home! The complimentary focaccia really pushed us over the edge. I would definitely come back to try their pizzas!

She told me that she had read my review and asked what it is I would like to discuss, as if we were about to enter into negotiation, rather than simply admitting fault and reimbursing me for their mistake as any other high-end and low-end restaurant would do in this situation. The manager told me that I should have spoken up last night and have asked for the steak to be reheated. Lol! She then said that it was me who should've caught the mistake on the bill, and that I shouldn't have posted my review. She also said that I should've called the restaurant when I noticed the bill which would've be impossible because I noticed it at midnight. She put the blame on me when I did nothing wrong in this scenario. She tried to make me feel bad about posting the review and made me feel as if it was I was the one that mishandled the entire situation, rather than accepting full responsibility. Eventually, I stood up for myself during the phone call and put the blame back on the restaurant, at which point she realized that maybe she and the restaurant staff that night did do something wrong. Spoiler alert! When that revelation crossed her mind, she offered to partially reimburse me for the cheaper steak that I originally ordered. The steak that they brought out afterwards... I still had to pay for it. Everything so far is clearly being handled correctly. I said that I would like everything reimbursed from that meal and after ten minutes of talking on the phone, she offered to reimburse me for the more expensive steak and the tip from that night, which should have been done in the first place without any of this. As if the situation couldn't get any juicier, she informed me that the kitchen staff have ongoing issues with temperature control on the steaks. Since they want to be petty, I'll be petty too. I saw many servers bagging the crudities that they bring out with their avocado hummus with their bare hands. The avocado hummus station is in the middle of the entire restaurant mind you. This is a bad look for the only dish that seems to be keeping this place afloat.
