I used to enjoy spending time and love bringing my friends for occasions, but maybe they're under new management who no longer care about quality service. I was just there Monday with a friend to celebrate our birthdays and it was the first time I felt so utterly disappointed. I would like to preface that I get massages and physical therapy often. I've gotten massages from the Houstonian, Milk and Honey, and many other spas for years. I am QUITE familiar with how massages should feel. During my massage with Daniel, I asked him multiple times to apply more pressure (not deep, but firmer than his weak strokes) and he quite frankly ignored it. He spent most of the time massaging me with ONE HAND only. He basically just put lotion on my legs, no pressure whatsoever, one-handed, just you know, as if he's putting lotion after a shower. He massaged my head like how one would pet their dog's head while busy watching TV. We were told we were the first appointments of the day, so I can't even give the benefit of the doubt that he may have spent 8 hours massaging others before me to excuse his lack of steam. At no point did it feel like a $150 massage or even a $35 massage from students at the massage school, which I'm also familiar with. My husband could have given a better massage at home, to be honest. When I expressed to him that I was barely feeling anything at all after repeatedly asking him to use more pressure compared to his near-limp hands, his words verbatim were, "I don't know what to tell you." Seriously. I'm not sure if he's an inexperienced massage therapist or if this is the way he was told to respond to a client's concerns by this establishment, but I'm deeply unsatisfied with the entire experience with him and it makes me disappointed in my visit overall. My only highlight was being able to spend time catching up with my friend. I do want to say my friend said her massage with Karem was excellent. I also want to say my previous massages here have been nice. Daniel, unfortunately, is the exception. It felt like he didn't care because he knew he was going to get the guaranteed gratuity regardless of how I liked his massage. When you check out, their staff tells you the 20% is already included upon giving you your bill. They don't offer you the option to change it, nor do they tell you it is optional. I've read from the business manager's response to a previous review that gratuity is just suggested for our convenience. If that is the case, then train your staff better so it doesn't appear as if it's mandatory. Also, perhaps tell them to specifically ask, "Would you like to include a 20% gratuity to your visit today?" When my friend asked me how much I wanted to put down for tip, knowing I had a bad experience, the girl who rang us up said, "20% was already added to your bill." That DOES NOT sound like a suggestion to us. What a scam. They also don't smile or make you feel very welcomed here. Your existence is noted but not welcomed. I've emailed their general manager Brittani and have had zero response from her. Looks like they don't care about having returning patrons. For the same amount of money, go to Trellis Spa at the Houstonian, where they do care about customer service and quality. This is a pretty place, but the details, care and quality of service are severely lacking to its competitors. read more

This was my second trip to Fiori, and it was not nearly as wonderful as the first time. My daughter and I were choosing a XMas Eve spa, and went with Fiori because like other elite spas, you can stay as long as you want before and after your services, and Fiori was open until 5. We arrived early and enjoyed the spa amenities for an hour or so, then had massages, followed by mani-pedis. We planned on then enjoying the relaxation room while our nails dried, and to maybe follow that with the steam room. However, it became clear that the staff really wanted us to leave immediately -- the complimentary waters, tea and coffee were put away, the staff kept asking if we were done with our towels, everything in the dressing room was cleared out -- and so we felt pressured into just getting dressed and leaving. My daughter even ended up smearing her polish as we hurriedly got dressed (I convinced her to get it fixed -- too expensive to leave with the manicure not perfect). I understand that it was XMas Eve, and I understand that people want to go home and be with their families, but we still paid as much as everyone else, on any other day, who were NOT rushed. Overall, then, we did not feel that the experience was worth the almost $600 we paid. The final insult was the automatic 20% gratuity. I always generously tip my masseuses and nail technicians, but a tip is a tip, and I really resent being forced to pay what they want me to pay -- it is not a tip then, is it? It's a required charge. We, unfortunately, will not be back. read more

I wanted so badly to like Fiori! I booked a massage for my birthday. I arrived 25 minutes early, but no one ever even came to show me the changing rooms. I found my way into the ladies locker, found myself a locker and figured out the code thing, but never was offered any spa shoes. I found my way, barefoot, upstairs, where an employee rudely asked why I wasn't wearing any shoes. Um, because I couldn't even find anyone to get me any??? So onto the massage...deep tissue. The massage therapist was very nice but overly chatty. I told her multiple times that I preferred a quiet massage and was here to relax, not talk. But she kept on chatting. And she actually used so much pressure I have bruises! She kept trying to stretch my neck really far, which I've read can induce strokes. I asked her not to do this, and she wanted to know why. Ummmm...because I am paying YOU and I asked you not to??? So I get to the point where I pay, and I was going to leave a 20% tip. Oh...wait....they already added 18%. Are you freaking kidding me? You already added a mandatory gratuity? Okie dokie, you missed out on your extra 2%. Gratuity is a thank-you for the service you received, not a mandatory add-on. The place is beautiful, and I wanted to much to like it and have it be my go-to spa. Ehh....notsomuch. read more

Have been here multiple times, plus husband/family have suggested company events here multiple times. Services are hit and miss. I asked the masseuse to increase the pressure a tad--then I got my legs squeezed to death and practically bruised my muscle tissue. I complained to management and their solution was to charge me for a Swedish--not a Deep Tissue (which I ordered) which gave me an entire savings of $10--WOAH...THANKS! ***Second VISIT*** Unbeknownst to me, my husband surprised me with a mother's day gift certificate to Fiori this year which included a Swedish Massage and a Pedicure. I show up and got the best massage of my life (thinking has Fiori redeemed itself???). On to the pedicure I went and everything was ok, except the lady that did my pedicure went to start filing my toenail and instead you would have thought she was filing a 2x4. A brand new nail file is sharp on the sides so she proceeded to slice my skin with the file acting like a knife. I shrieked and pulled my toe away and when she went back in she was much gentler. Yikes! An hour after leaving I look down at my foot and my nail polish had slid off my toes! Apparently she did not do the alcohol prep prior to the painting so my toenails were all greasy from the lotion still and the nail polish just slid off in sheets. Niiiice. I had dinner plans with my hubby that night for Mothers Day and had to repaint my toe nails AFTER MY $60 PEDICURE. I called and spoke to the staff and she said she would talk to her manager who never called me back. Boo. Between me and my husband we are easily going on over $1000 spent at this place--not to mention the company events we have had here. Seems like they could have comped us on something by now. ***Third VISIT*** Unbeknownst to me, my husband surprised me (AGAIN!) with a birthday gift certificate (Thanks honey--sarcasm.)--again for another massage and pedicure. I was the first visitor of the day and was greeted by a dirty locker room. Trash was full in the grotto, wrappers/trash in the shower and on the ledge of the hot tub, hot water bottles sitting in melted ice from the day before, no lavender cloths (not even when I left at 1pm)--I took photos so check out the images. Staff hanging out at the front doing nothing when all of this should have been taken care of already AND outside pool was full of leafs. Oooohhh Booooy--here we go again. So I'm trying to be optimistic (not sure why) and go to get my massage. 20 minutes into the massage I hear my masseuse burp or something. Then she says "Is it ok if I go use the bathroom?" I say "Sure." First of all this has never happened to me before--and was kind of weird, but maybe she drank a lot of water or something. So I'm waiting.....waiting....waiting....after about 5 minutes she comes back and explains that she has food poisoning or something and has been puking all day. Oohhhh. Yummy vomit breath. Not the kind of thing you want to hear in an intimate setting that is supposed to be relaxing. I asked if she had someone that could take her place and she said no. Seriously??? Your puking your guts out and they are making you give clients massages still? GO HOME! After that it was hard to relax and enjoy my massage--just awkward. Then I went to get my pedicure and it was actually really good this time so no complaints there. Its day 2 and my polish is still on. So you see--you never know what you will get with this place and don't bother complain because the staff/management don't care. Go at your own risk! Disclaimer: I had never been to a spa, nor had any spa treatments. I went to a group function here and so there were lots of people getting many different things done. Everybody was happy and relaxed, and there were rave reviews for the pregnancy massage. (They have special foam with areas cut out to accommodate laying face down.) The grounds were pretty, but a tad nondescript and hard to spot from the road. The sign was practically hidden. I ding points because I had an appointment for a manicure/pedicure and they overbooked the pedicure chairs so I couldn't have one. They offered me a complimentary glass of wine to make up for it, but I don't drink... so kind of lame. I had just the manicure. It was also pretty crowded, which is the opposite of relaxing for me. Conclusion of this little adventure... I guess spas aren't my thing. read more

I consider this place to be very overrated. I tried a massage at Fiori based on a glowing recommendation from my fiancée. Was very disappointed. I walked in the door to begin my appointment and I felt unwelcome. The front desk ladies were a little cold. I felt like I was homeless man that walked in the building to ask for money for a beer. They "pointed" me to the dressing room and I was shocked at how tiny it was. Very little room to maneuver. In fact, there was only one area of seating; it was a small bench that was about 5 feet long. That is barely enough room for 2 adult males to share comfortably. When you consider that the guy next to you is naked, could be pretty uncomfortable. Nothing more traumatic for a straight guy to have a male butt cheek nearly graze the side of your head as you are getting dressed; especially a hairy one! Only 2, maybe 3 men could comfortably get dressed in the room. No exaggeration! Luckily, I was the only guy in the locker room for the majority of the time that I was preparing for my massage. After I got into my Robe, I was again "pointed" to the stairs to go to get my massage. After I got upstairs, I did not know where to go so I sat on a sofa in hopes of finding a spa employee that could tell me where I should be. Nothing doing. Not one person was available so I sat there for about 10 minutes before my therapist stumbled into me. Next, I got a good deep tissue massage from the therapist. However, I found it hard to enjoy because I could hear the people at the pool area talking. I could hear there entire conversation. It sounded as if they were right outside the door of the room. Completely annoying! So, through no fault of the therapist, my massage was ruined. After my massage I figure that I could go to a lounge area and chill out for a while. The therapist walks me to this area and invites me in. I look and people are piled in the room like prisoners at a military camp. Finally, I rush to leave this nightmare experience. As I am checking out, the cold, lifeless front desk help asks me in front of the entire audience in the room "Would you like to add 18% gratuity to your bill?". I felt pretty offended that they felt entitled to gratuity! It made me more upset that she tried to guilt me into a tip. I felt like a preteen in an after school "Say-No-to-Drugs" special. Crazy pressure! I always tip 20%. Even for the most average service, I give 20%. After maintaining my composure, I politely tipped the place for the sake of the therapist only and I sprinted to my car. My fiancée had targeted the place for her Pre-wedding festivities for her girlfriends. After my experience, she cancelled her plans. I have done massages at many places around the city and the country. I can tell you that this place is dead last on my list. The front desk folks were unfriendly. The building was nice but small with a limited number of places to relax. Frankly, if you really enjoy this place, you are missing out when it comes to a true spa experience! Would not go back and I would only recommend this place to people that I really dislike! (in other words, no one). Maybe this place doesn't cater to men, who knows. I pass by here all the time on the way to work told myself I really need to give this place a try. After a long week, I decided to call in last minute to try to get a facial. I called around 3:30pm and they were able to fit me in at 5pm. I arrived 30 minutes ahead of time. The parking situation was easy with plenty of spots, but it's probably because I had the last appointment of the day I think. Greeted by the receptionist and filled out some paper work as a new client. I was disappointed that no one offered me a tour of the facilities especially since they have quite a bit of amenities. The locker room was nice and clean. I changed into a comfy robe and went upstairs to the quiet room where there were two other ladies napping. Got myself some infused cucumber water and a hot lavender neck wrap from the warmer, got a spot in corner chaise and knocked out until the esthetician came and got me. The room was nice and warm and I especially like that the bed was heated. My facial was good but not great. She didn't really walk through the steps and her massage was a it lazy I'm afraid to say. All in all it was nice. Although in the following days my skin did look great and even though she did extractions, I was not blotchy leaving the spa. My second time around, I took my friend and myself here for her birthday. I did ask for a tour of the facilities this time and made a mental note that I must take advantage of that mineral pool next time. I had Nicole and my friend had Naomi. We both decided that was one of if not the best facials that we ever had. Nicole was very meticulous and at the beginning of the treatment she talked me through all the steps of the massage. Both both had the hydraesslence facials and it was so nice and a relaxing. Nicole also gave me an amazing neck, shoulder, and arm massage. I went to Fiori a couple of weeks ago for a massage and said I wanted them to focus on neck and upper back which the therapist did not and the massage was so-so. Still having the neck and upper back pain I went to get a massage today at Heights Massage, not to be confused with Massage Heights and received an amazing massage and when I asked the therapist to focus on neck and upper back, that is just what he did. I have been to Fiori in the past and it has been fabulous, but has gone down hill. However, I do reccomend Heights Massage and specifically Michael. The atmosphere of Fiori is still amazing. read more

I spent the entire day here with my mother in law and sister in law. The environment is cozy and inviting. We were immediately checked in and taken back to the locker room to put on our robes before our treatment. We sat in the "quiet room" while we waited to be picked up for our treatments, and it was very relaxing. My sister in law and mother in law loved their massages. I had a facial, and the facial itself was relaxing and cleansing; however, the lady doing my facial got so panicked that she asked me questions about cancer the entire time. She saw the scar on my neck from my thyroidectomy, and spent the entire 60 minutes asking how I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer because she thinks she may have cancer. I'm fine answering questions, but I didn't go to a spa, and spend a good chunk of change, to be drilled with cancer questions. After our treatments we had a private lunch of fruit, salad and chicken breast. The food was very fresh and very tasty. After lunch we got on our swimsuits and spent a while in the hot spring. It was extremely relaxing and quiet and almost made me forget about my unpleasant facial experience. read more

The front desk staff needs major improvement. The ladies make faces and snarky comments after telling them the reservation name, phone number and service was completely wrong. They should repeat your info back to you to avoid this mishap. Another issue was me asking to change the card on file for food and beverage to a different card and the lady said "ok but it's a difficult thing to do" and she ended up not complying because the wrong card was charged. Step into Fiori and you'll feel like you've been transported to a spa in Tuscany. The grounds of the spa (outdoor pool and Wine Garden, available for sunbathing) are gorgeous and tranquil. The inside of the spa is just as luxurious...quiet, dim and peaceful with comfy couches to lounge on. The ladies locker room is the perfect place to get primp and dress up, as they have all sorts of hair and skin products at your disposal - big plus. In terms of the services, I was very pleased with my mani + pedi and will return. My Swedish massage was just okay....I've experienced better, and it seemed like the masseuse used a cream (instead of essential oil). Not so crazy about that... The spa also carries natural-based skincare lines like Yonka and Eminence, which is cool in my books. I arrived at Fiori a worn-out mom and left feeling absolutely rejuvenated. It was an awesome Mother's Day gift from my boys (husband & son) and the best part? I get to go back for one more treatment! read more

Wow - this spa is top notch! I went here for a pedicure with my Mom and her best friend for my Mom's milestone birthday (we won't say which one, LOL). We were immediatley escorted to the ladies' locker room where we changed into robes and shower shoes. The locker room is amazing - exactly how I picture my "dream home" master bath to look. The staff is super nice but not pretentious like I had expected them to be. They never tried to up-sell or get more money out of us, which was nice and very appreciated. The massage chairs at the pedicure stations are like nothing I've ever seen before. They not only massage your back with a nice pressure, they also grab your shoulders, arms, and legs occasionally using pressure to give you a great massage! The pedicures were extremely relaxing and we all enjoyed visiting with each other as well as our nail techs, as they were very friendly. After our pedicures were complete we were given a tour of the spa while while waiting for our nails to dry. The facility is amazing and I can't wait to go back! read more

I've tried a lot of spas in Houston and finally found one I love! The grounds and amenities are great - a mineral pool, a steam room, an outdoor pool, lunch options... and a quiet room upstairs where for some reason, I was already relaxed pre-massage! I had a massage and it was wonderful. My friend had a facial before her wedding (she recommended the place) and her skin was glowing. It's on the pricier end but I think the experience is worth it. Disclaimer: I am comparing this spa to San Francisco Bay area standards. This is a relaxing oasis within Houston. Wonderful mineral pool & hot tub in the basement of the facility. Small outdoor pool is located at the entrance of the spa, so exposed to all foot traffic. The quiet room is very relaxing & comfortable. Primary reason for the 3 stars is the deep tissue massage was not a deep tissue massage instead it was comparable to a medium pressure Swedish massage. My husband surprised me with a massage, facial, and pedicure at this spa. After reading the reviews I was skeptical about what to expect, but overall I was pleasantly surprised. The massage I had was perfect, and I haven't been able to say that about a massage in a while. My massage therapist was Diana and she was so friendly and great. Next I had my facial which was also good. I left with my skin feeling refreshed and clean! Last I had my pedicure which was my least favorite service - I would rather spend the money at a regular nail salon and would have received much more for the money. I had somewhat high expectations when I arrived. The outside are is very pretty and welcoming. Unfortunately, things went south from there. After check in, I went into the women's changing area and there was a large dead cockroach on the floor. While alarmed, I hoped it would be the worst part of my visit. I grabbed some water and had a seat by the outdoor pool. When I was not being eaten alive by mosquitoes, my view included two dead frogs floating in the pool, belly up. An attendant even came by and said, "Oh! Guess we need to clean the pool." Oy. The massage room was clean, the masseuse was excellent. This is why I gave the spa two stars. Following the massage, I went downstairs into the mineral pool. The mineral pool lights were "broken" and it was dangerously dark. As I stumbled in, I quickly realized the room was a wreck. Obviously a large group had been in the space earlier. There were countless wet towels, empty water bottles, and used wash cloths lying on the bench and floor. After I saw the mineral pool area's condition, I left. I didn't feel comfortable being there any longer. This place has so much potential, but I will not be back. read more

Massage was fine, but very poor customer service at the front desk. My friends and I were Fiori clients for more than 10 years. We have seen how the customer services has been degraded over time, but this past Sunday we said our goodbyes. Customer services deserves a zero. We made reservations a month in advance, since we were a large party. Almost all of us (6) got calls to re-scheduled or change technicians due to conflicting and contradictory reasons. Two days prior, another message to inform us about all-pools will be under maintenance, so we couldn't use them, they didn't give us time to re-schedule anywhere else. Poor planning. We learned later that Fiori management "forgot" to renew to the City pool permits and we were punished again for their poor management, no discount, nor small token was given, We could only stay in the garden as an amenity. On date on the service, I counted no more than 12 patrons, we were half of their clientale. Fiori is a big facility. To accommodate us all, and leave the larger party in the garden, they could have used the interior rooms, to isolate the other patrons from the potential noise. Instead, they used the closest room to the garden bothering the clients in that room and us in the garden. They kept asking us to be in silence in the garden. They made us moved (we did), soft speak (we did) and nothing was sufficient, until we left. They were insisting and rude. Food took for ever to be served and to be paid (different ticket from SPA). It is such a pity not to come back to this beautiful facility. I am sure than ZaZa and Houstonian would appreciate our business read more

While I was waiting for my friend, I heard them at the front desk speaking rather loudly about customers with one of their masseuses. Ideally this would have been the perfect spot for a girls spa day. We were attracted to this spa for the included: mineral pool, steam room, & the option of lunch/drinks which were all available but not at all luxury or worth the price. The waiting room off of the locker area was filthy, hair all over the floor. The commode area wasn't finished and has a sanitary swimsuit sticker stuck to the floor. The steam room floor was covered in filth and had a funky smell. The mineral pool downstairs was nice but I'm pretty sure it was just a pool. My actual massage was sub par, especially for the price. read more

Love this spa! I came to get some R&R and the place was fabulous. It offered the serenity and solitude that I was looking for. Don't forget to bring your swimsuit, the mineral bath is not to be missed. I had Ruth for my body scrub treatment and she was attentive and amazing. My skin felt extra soft and smooth when I left.
