Surprisingly this place doesn't open until 10am, but yesterday I got a 9Am cupping therapy session. Absolutely worst ever. The message therapist had no clue what she was doing, the cups kept falling off on the floor. She abandoned cupping altogether and started an extremely deep tissue upper back massage because I was "very tense." The cups didn't stay on my body more than 45 seconds, and not more than 2 at one time. This woman was completely ignorant of the technique- it would have been better if they just said they didn't have the availability. I am really have a hard time believing she was a certified massage therapist. Trying not to be mean I just wrapped up the massage and proceeded straight to the front. I don't see any certificates and I don't want to be rude to ask - but I'm never coming back so it doesn't matter. I had been here a few times and that made it may last. The problem is: I'm more sore TODAY than I was going in. And down I have a headache from the deep tissue mess she was going in my traps. I play tennis the morning and life must go on but she did more damage than good. Never, ever going back. There are so many places in Houston to get cupping therapy, this was a joke! read more

It smells amazing as soon as you walk in--which I loved! The space is a bit dark, but in a cozy, calming way that fits the vibe. I booked a lymphatic massage through ClassPass, and while the experience was just okay for me, I'm not in a rush to return for that specific service. That said, I do think these things can really depend on the individual therapist, so I wouldn't completely take them off my list just yet read more

My husband got me a Groupon for Christmas for the diamond package and it was amazing. Yes it was three hours long and honestly I was not prepared for that. I think two hours is good because I felt like I was getting a pressure ulcer on my face from laying on that face pillow for that long. Massage was fantastic and she even massaged my head. Also while my mask was sitting on my face for my facial she scrubbed and massaged my feet. WOW! Honestly the facial was so good that I cancelled my facial membership at Hi Skin and will be coming back. I've been a patron for many years and I'll briefly summarize my experience here. Massage therapists: 5 STARS! I have had 2 regular therapists and they've always been fantastic! I recently received a massage by Claudia. She was PHENOMENAL! She took a quick screening of my concerns and then make very methodical recommendations. I HIGHLY recommend her!!! Location: 4 stars This establishment used to have 2 locations and they recently dropped to one. I frequented the location near Kirby and that location was amazing. The decoration, size, and general ambiance was so calming. The new location is significantly smaller. The decor and ambiance is still nice but the waiting are is SO SMALL! it's one long narrow hallway and often the massage therapists have to wait in the same area while waiting for their clients so the area gets quite crowded; resulting in diminished calmness that I believe the owners were striving for. Front office staff: 3 Stars The quality of the staff is quite inconsistent! In the last few years, it was a toss up of who knew the rules for membership and who didn't! It was quite frustrating to say the least but I loved my massage therapist so I felt with it. I've had two massages here with Isaac (I had maybe a dozen with him at their other facility off of Richmond) and these were, as expected, excellent. Isaac is the top masseuse I've ever had work on me, I'm a little larger and need strong treatment. There are masseuses everywhere that advertise"deep tissue" but most of them aren't, really. With Issac you can count on very strong and expert treatment, as needed, and expert appraisal and advice. I 100% highly recommend River Oaks Advanced Bodyworks whether at this Gibson location or their original location on Hadley off of Richmond. Personally I don't think there is any better service in Houston. read more

The massage itself wasn't amazing, she barely used the hot stones which was why I booked that speciality massage. But I was still satisfied until my check out experience. I booked here specially knowing they would accept my gift card after getting confirmation initially. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I came to check out the front desk person was literally cursing and clearly annoyed I had inconvenienced him by using with a gift card, he tried several times to input it and called someone for help, which took around 10 minutes of attempting to input my gift card, before he gave up and I said I could just pay with credit card.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]He didn't apologize or offer me any other type of discount. Well a friend recommended this place for a massage. Since they would frequently visit their other location at Audley st. And was told the service there is great.
