I've frequented this store for their legacy staples tournament. This is one of the few stores in the greater Los Angeles area that hosts large scale mtg legacy tournaments. They also stream their top table with commentary so you could become semi-internet famous. I was on stream once and am still not internet famous so YMMV. Their tournaments here are always very well run and efficient. Staff here is very nice and accommodating. They understand traffic can be tough going up to the valley during the weekend. Word of advice regarding traffic-from the west side around Santa Monica you should probably expect it to take approximately 45 minutes to get up there, maybe an hour to be safe. The location is clean, well-lit, and has a spacious area for tables so players don't feel cramped. Their display case selection is a bit on the sparse side but don't feel afraid to ask the store clerks if they have any cards. After a few visits it's my understanding that they'll have all of what you want in standard, most of what you'd want in modern, and a fair amount of legacy cards as well. I would highly recommend people interested in MtG as well as board games to check this shop out! read more

Dae, one of the workers, was super nice and friendly. I don't know nothin' about cards, but I've been looking for a new hobby. He spent 4 straight hour educating me on magic cards and pokemon cards. Finally, I decided to buy some cards, but my debit card pin number wasn't working so I had to call my bank to get my pin number sorted out. 30 minutes later, I was able to finally make the purchase. He was very patient! Also, as I was leaving and heading to my car, a few people were picking on me, but Dae showed up and shooed them away. What a good guy... heheheh. read more

I had a great time here, and not just because I placed in a Pokemon League Challenge lmao. Everyone I met was very friendly, yet was taking the match seriously. I had a great time competing there. The judge there was also very kind. After the Challenge I played board games with a few people. They have a great selection of games, and I saw people playing a variation of Dungeons & Dragons, too. Genuine Enthusiasm for collectible card gaming. Haven't seen it in years. My friends and I consist of two grizzled Magic veterans (1994), and a newbie who is picking up the mechanics of the game remarkably quickly. So we came here for some staples to get started playing. The fella at the counter came through with some free cards for us, as well as two starter deck kits to get going in a flash. Wow... free decks to get started with, furnished by WotC. M:TG has officially become part of the opioid epidemic... "Oh sure, the first bundle is free... but don't worry, you'll be back for more!" Anyway, they have a lot of gaming tables here, sure to draw every nerd, geek, loser, and dweeb out of the woodwork and into the social comfort of all-male (pretty much) hobbies. This is an awesome place with awesome people. although i am horrible at smash this place is one of the most hype weekly tourneys. i wish it was closer to my house but its always worth it the drive. you can meet great players and get good tips oh yeah and inb4 crazy lady leaves bad review. she came in from her massage next door and yelled at chris for being too loud even though this weekly has been going on for five months and there has never been a complaint. i guess she was salty and/or pms such a funny moment she called everyone virgins and said she would go aggro on our ass. she was recorded on stream to preserve for all eternity and now we have a great inside joke. i love FnD. so glad i came today S A L T B O I S read more

Dae is one of the owners of this shop and I've known him for a few year from a another hobby shop that closed down. He and his staff really does go above and beyond for customers. This is hands down my all time favorite shop to go to. The owners are some of the coolest people I know that are very friendly and will always talk to customers. They know a lot about the card games, and they are always willing and ready to teach not only card games but board and table top games too. It's my go to spot to just relax and have a good time. So I came in today after getting my first set of magic cards in the mail yesterday. I wanted to learn more about magic and what kind of stuff they got going on there. The guy who helped me, didn't catch his name, was pretty helpful explaining when the best time to come and play would be. Nice big place, probably a lot of fun on Friday nights. While I was there I got myself 3 booster packs for $10 and some card sleeves that were cheaper than amazon and I didn't have to wait for them. Cool place and I'll be back tomorrow to try and learn how to better play the game. read more

Best gaming store in the valley. If you play Mtg, super smash bros(whichever is the latest one) or board games you need to come through. Te owners Chris, Dae, and Lowell are super friendly and will bend over backwards to get what you need or answer any questions you have. It's a super clean easy going environment and super safe!!! (One of them works for the LAW) just becareful about parking because it gets packed mid day. Lots of great food places around. So you will never go hungry if you just stay there and hang out. Finally there's a board game store in this part of the Valley. They've got plenty of table space for Magic or board games and even have demo copies! Seems like a no duh, but based on my experience, very few places are considerate enough to provide that. I like this place. It's a little tucked away, so I had a mildly hard time finding it, but once I knew what I was looking for it wasn't too hidden. Inside is much larger than it looks from outside, but most of the room is given to tables (cause it's a gaming shop, this makes sense). Most of the merchandise is immediately apparent as you enter. I came to check out dice and minis (which I'm super in to lately). The dice are your basic chesx fare, nothing terribly unique or standout, and basic chesx prices, too. I ended up buying a set that caught my eye because it's not like they're cheaper anywhere else. I also checked out the minis, which are not displayed on the sales floor, but they are kept behind the counter. That's cool, but I'd rather them be on a rack on the floor so I can browse them without clogging up the counter space. That being said, though, the employee (a really nice dude named Joe) offered to help me pick through the minis to find what I was looking for. I ended up grabbing a couple of the first ones I touched, just to expediate my shopping. I also checked out the board games, of which there are some cool ones, but again it's the same sort of stuff you find in a lot of gaming shops. I'll definitely go back in, and I'll hope that a little bit of the massive floor space may eventually become some more display space for stuff like the minis. Overall, pleasant place, nice people who seem to know their product well. Happy to give them my money. read more

First time visitor last week and I was impressed. Whether you're into collectable cards, boardgames, dice games, or advice... they have you covered. There were ample tables to play games and even a pile of opened games you can learn and play. The proprietor was very nice to us as we explored the shelves. I actually found a friend inside and we sat down to teach a youth and an adult how to play a particular board game. Lot's of fun and I will certainly be going back soon. read more
