As an appetizer, I did have the clam chowder - sensational! It is the best that I have tasted, and I've spent a lot of time in New England. Tonight was such a disappointment. My grouper was excellent but the sides were just okay at best. My husband ordered the stroganoff which he has had before - they made it wrong! It was very spicy. Our server didn't come back to check on us until we were almost done. And my husband didn't really want to send it back and wait for a new one because he was hungry. Let's be clear- my husband enjoys spicy Thai and Indian food - but this was Stroganoff and he said I would not have been able to eat it. The server checked and confirmed that was not supposed to be spicy - he apologized but no manager ever came out. We opted to just have water tonight and its served in smaller glasses - our server never refilled my water except for the one time I asked when he brought out the first course. To top it off as we were leaving - I heard another server reading off a list of daily items including a scallop dish that sounded great! Our server never told us any of that! I'm not sure if there has been a change of ownership or what but this is not the place we have loved. It has been one of our favorites for like 8 years. We have a place in MB so we are in town several times a year. Up until tonight, I probably would have given 4 to 5 stars. Came with carrots and a bread pudding made with marrow. Started with a seafood artichoke dip on crostini. Heavenly. Wife had a medium rare filet. The waiter explained that cutting it in half will be better for her requested temperature. He was right. Steak came out perfectly. But the highlight was the wine selection. We drink Cabernet. We ordered a bottle of Masseria Frattasi Kylyx Cabernet Sauvignon 2020. This was the best Cabernet I've had to date. Will order it again with an appetizer and sit at the bar. Place was pretty empty for a Saturday night. Third time was a charm in asking for a cocktail. Bar had limited options. Prices are high!!! You must even pay for bread if you want any with dinner. Dinner menu was limited. All the options you see online, yeah they were cut. I chose this restaurant based on all the great reviews. Look ... if you want a very quiet, dark, empty, expensive, so-so place ... this is it. I will say that my steak (which I chose because all the options I thought I would have, were not options) was the best I have ever had. My wife and I decided to try this "off the beaten path" steakhouse in the northern end of Myrtle Beach. Our expectations were not high, but after dining we were pleasantly surprised with the attentive service and well put together eclectic fare. We enjoyed the creative menu that is not often seen in the Myrtle Beach area. The tuna appetizer was fresh and well put together. The shrimp Madagascar was a nicely portioned and had a pleasant array of flavors that complimented each other well. The Asian pear salad was on point being perfectly dressed with well thought out paired ingredients. The Elk chops were absolutely delicious and cooked to a medium rare as requested. The Wild Boar/Bison meatloaf was richly flavored and made for a hearty meal. We also enjoyed sharing the 10 layer cake with dulce de leche ice cream accompaniment for dessert. We will likely be back for the food in the future. Overall, we give the food and service five stars; however, the ambiance needs a lot of improvement. The place was definitely outdated and appeared dingy. Carpeting and upholstered seating made for a musty, uncomfortable experience that made me want to jump in the shower immediately upon arriving home. Good but expensive would be my overall description. We were looking a places to go in Myrtle Beach and this one popped up as a good option. There were four of us 3 of which only eat chicken and seafood and their menu appeared to be perfect. We walked in without reservations. The hostess asked if we had them, we told her no. She looked around the restaurant (which was 90% empty) and said I think we should be able to get you in and sat us right away. Our server came over right away and had such a great personality. I think she made the experience actually. She was pretty sassy yet very good at her job. The menu was decent, however, the two specials they had were Crab cakes (1 or 2) and Scallops. We all opted for the Crab cakes (2). We also ordered a dozen oysters which was fantastic. We also had salad and a seafood gumbo type dish. Their cocktail menu was also good and they have a really nice selection of bourbon if you are into that. The downfall and why I didn't give it 5 stars is the cost. 6 crab cakes 3 side salads 4 cocktails 1 seafood gumbo type dish 12 oysters Came up to almost $500 Somehow that seems off to me. I eat out a LOT and we have paid for peoples food a LOT but IDK $500 for what i named above seemed just a bit high for me. A really good find in Myrtle Beach, SC for our family. We visited recently and we were treated to a great experience. We had a little issue with our reservation which was likely our fault. However, the staff was accommodating in getting us seated. Our waitress was fantastic in serving our party of 6. They had an excellent selection of bourbons. The food was really good. I think the table winner for dishes was the grouper with crawfish. Unbelievable combination. A big serving of food well prepared. The steaks and pork chop dishes were also very good. We also had a few members in our party order appetizers and then later order desserts. There were no disappointments in anything ordered. The interior and location of the restaurant is basic but the quality of the food far outweighs the need for any of the usual trappings of fine dining. We highly recommend a visit. read more

The reviews made it sound like this was a really good place. We had reservations for 7 pm on a Friday night. It was maybe 1/3 full. That's not a good sign. I started with a glass of wine from their wine list and my wife had a chocolate martini. They were both good. Next we ordered some bread as it isn't provided gratis. I ordered the elk chops, they claim it's their signature item and my wife had a salad. The bread finally came after about 15 minutes and the entrees followed about 1 minute later. It would be nice to have a little spacing between the items. Our waitress seemed to be a bit confused although I don't think she had more that 2 tables. Anyway the elk chops were covered in a sauce (blackberry I guess) but it overpowered everything on the plate. The bone marrow bread pudding lacked flavor. Overall pretty disappointing. The lamb ribeye and chicken cordon bleu that are on the website menu are not listed on the restaurant menu. In fact the website menu doesn't match much they offer at all, except the name...lol. So we skipped desert and that came to $150, which was ridiculous for what we received. read more

Over the last ten years this place has gone down hill. Menu has shrunk. Service has gotten poor and the owner chef has forgotten about customers. Now twice we have gone at 830 on a Friday and been turned away because they were closed. This time I called first and they said they close at nine. After hours of deliberation, the family finally settled on this location. The duck confit nachos looked so good, that is part of what tipped the scale to come too. Of course they don't make the duck confit nachos anymore. That's why I picked this place. So bummed. We were seated at the middle tables. Another group was seated less than 3 feet away from my elbow. Hmmm. It doesn't appear that they try to seat people 6 feet apart at all. :/ It's dark inside here. Kristen is our helper for today, not sure what exactly that means, she was yelling or shouting out their specials as she pulls away her mask away from her face, a bit. I get it's intensely loud with the raucous party of 9. I thought I had read that the state law indicates that parties greater than 8 have to be split up. Another guy party were seated right next to the other large group too. The guys from the first group are also walking around without their masks on at all. All I could make up for was the jumbo scallops with smoked leek and truffle risotto were one of the specials for today. They have red snapper as a special too. We started with the truffle fries, jumbo scallops, simple green salad, portabella ravioli, prime short rib and a side of the risotto and the wild boar meatloaf. The truffle fries ate hand cut, soft and lacks on black truffle sauce. I think I found a few flecks of the Parmesan, rather skimpy. I can't even smell any truffle or Parmesan on them, can't taste any of the garlic aioli either and they are so soggy. We did ask Caroline, she took them back and said she would have them remake it. They had omitted the aioli since we asked for a side of BBQ sauce. The second batch were quite a bit better, scent of some truffle, less soggy, sprinkled with Parmesan and a side is garlic aioli. The garlic aioli is the best part of the fries. The scallops were perfectly cooked, the risotto was nice as well. The house side salad was okay, some rotten lettuce in it. The citrus dressing is light and flavorful. The portabella ravioli were yummy and hit the spot, not too much. The wild boar meatloaf is sizable and delicious for my FIL. Our cousin enjoyed his side of risotto and really enjoyed his prime short rib. The service was good, some sound proof ceiling tiles would help here, it gets excessively loud and it's hard to hear the conversation at your own table even. We finished with a couple of the grand marnier creme brûlées, the other dessert options were strawberry dessert, some browniesque dessert and some death by chocolate. The Grand Marnier creme brûlée was quite delicious. The flavor enhancer of the grand marnier is on point. It's my favorite part of tonight's meal. read more

Finally!!!!! a spot in Myrtle beach where edible is an understatement. And I mean that in the kindest of ways. Why has it been so difficult to find quality food here? Look no more because this spot HAS IT! To eat I had the lamb chops (medium - and actually cooked medium) - so tender and delicious. Instead of potatoes, I asked for the truffle fries with garlic aioli and absolutely divine! I tasted everyone else's meal and all so fantastic - the Ossobucco, prime short rib and the meat loaf. We ordered the bread to start with EVO (extra virgin olive oil by sister so sarcastically informed me! Am I really the only one who didn't know this acronym?!?) Overall I'd say the food touches a tad bit too much on the salty side. So that'd be my #1 rec is to cut a bit back on that. To drink, I had the spiced pear mojito (yummm!!). I tasted the season margarita (wowza!!) and one of the house cabs (pretty good) Service: 10/10.
