So I want to start by saying we had gift vouchers for Angelo's from one of the local hotels. Which is why we ate here. That being said we were glad we did. I had the filet and my wife had the strip steak both were cooked perfectly. We added a side of the cowboy toppings (onions bacon and horseradish). For side we had spaghetti with meat sauce and Italian green beans. It also came with salad and breadsticks. We did not try the buffet as my wife prefers table service. The desert was amazing even as to go, my wife chose the key lime pie and I opted for the peanut butter pie. The service was top notch. Stopped in recently on a Saturday night for a first-time visit with my mother and sister during a recent visit to Myrtle Beach. We always love hunting down a good buffet so stopped in to try the Italian buffet Angelo offers from 3-6pm featuring an assortment of pastas and classic Italian dishes. We arrived a bit early into their dinner service (around 5:30pm) and had no problem being sat - although there were was a wait by the time we were done dining and left. The $20.95 buffet is served cafeteria style where you go up to the buffet line and tell serving staff behind the counter what you would like to have added to plate. I went up twice and sampled a little bit of everything off the bar....the standout items to me were the steak & potatoes (our table's favorite), the stuffed shells, the cheese ravioli, and the pizza. Definitely make sure to try those if you visit. For the meh of it - i would steer clear of the meat stuffed ravioli, the tortellini, and the lasagna...one bite of those dishes were enough to push them aside on the plate....other items on the buffet (meatballs, spaghetti, italian sausage, etc were fine but nothing to write home about). The buffet is also served with a shared family style salad and garlic bread....if you want a refill of either you will be charged a fee just fyi. When it came to our server Elizabeth the service left something to be desired...she was all over the place, a bit short with us, and would drop off items and immediately rush off before we could ask for things and then not be seen for a while....not sure if she was just super busy and overwhelmed or what but there were a few times when we flagged down other servers for assistance....her sporadic energy was very different from what we observed from other servers in the dining room we were in. All in all it's a decent buffet option in Myrtle Beach if you're looking for a non-seafood option. And if buffets aren't your thing, they do also have a full regular menue you can order from as well. read more

We had been to Angelo's about 10 years ago and it was excellent. We were in the area and decided to return there. It was not as good as it had been previously. The clam sauce looked and tasted like they dumped canned clams into a pasta sauce.There were huge pieces of cooked onion in the sauce that made the sauce a bit off putting. The lasagna was good. Salad was similar to Olive Garden salad and they only gave you one piece of bread per person and charged extra if you wanted more. We have been here quite a few times before but since Covid we haven't been. Today we went and we had an over hour wait, but the food and service didn't disappoint! Our server was prompt and kind. Angelo doesn't know how to make chicken francese. The bland, flavorless white sauce on my dish last night was NOT it. For 30 bucks I get white gravy on my pasta with a breaded chicken breast. Wrong. And my friend had the Alfredo, which appeared to be the same white paste with a little Parmesan stirred in. Again, highly disappointing. Is this an Italian restaurant or an IHOP?? Huge facility that's been here for a while. Great service and clean. Besides a large selection of steak and pasta, they also have an Italian buffet that looked pretty good. We started with a bowl of their She-crab soup. A little different than most in the area but it was seasoned well and had plenty of crab. They bring out a house salad and garlic bread to start. I had the Cowboy Chop which is a 22oz bone in ribeye and had their garlic mashed for my side it was pretty good. My wife has the chicken cutlets Marsala over pasta and she said it was great. This was our first time trying Angelo's. We were enticed by the thought of an Italian Buffet. We love Italian and have high standard as we have several great places back home. We were courteously greeted and shown to our table. They have several large dining rooms that are typical Italian decor but not tacky. Our wait staff was lovely and explained how everything worked for the buffet. Three of us did the buffet. Our elderly mother was graciously allowed to order from the children's menu as she doesn't eat much. In fact she could not even finish the child's portion. Salad and breadsticks were served before we ordered which was a nice touch. Now for the buffet review. We were mixed. The meatballs and Italian sausage were good as was the meat sauce. The lasagna, tortellini, stuffed shells, ravioli. We're all average at best. The ravioli in particular had must more pasta than filling making the ratio off. The pizza was decent with a good crust. We did not have a steak, but many near us did and they looked great. So, perhaps their advertising that they have great steaks is true and that may be the better bet. Tried it twice 20 years apart. Bad then and bad now. Inside is choppy dirty and dated. Waitress plops down a salad bowl and silverware. Salad first? No water,drink orders, no intro. The bartender could not find the wine on the menu and that order went back and forth for 20 minutes.finally our 4th choice for wine showed up. Im italian and the buffet was nauseating. We wanted the early bird special of 4oz Filet Mignon with Mashed Potatoes, Italian Green Beans and Salad all for 16.99. They were busy, but we got seated right away. This place was neat and clean with a cozy atmosphere, loved the large fish tank. Our salad came out first and was served in a large bowl for all three of us. This Salad was very good and so was the Garlic Bread that came with it. Our Filets came after we finished our Salads. They were amazing done just like I wanted and very tasty. The mashed potatoes were very good as was the Green Beans. I really liked this food all was hot, tasty and lots of it. All three of us loved the food and the cook on our Filets. We are 2 locals who usually love this place. This place was always our go to for steak since we aren't fond of chain restaurants. The last 2 times were extremely disappointing. Tonight especially. The last time we ate at Angelo's, we figured was just possibly a bad day (heck, everyone has them) so we didn't ultimately decide to not return, however tonight, honestly, was the last time we will. My mother in law had the buffet, which she enjoyed but I mean, she's even happy with a 5 dollar pizza from Little Caesars so it's not hard to please her. My husband and I both had the 10 oz New York strip sizzler. We always order ours medium rare since we know they continue to cook on the hot plate. The last time, as well as this time, the steak came out closer to well. When it's closer to well and also keeps cooking, you're in for one tough steak. We didn't say anything to the waitress. We aren't like that- don't ever want wait staff to feel bad when it's not their fault. Just needing to voice our disappointment and why we will not be back. Mind you we had to ask for refills 3 times, and ask where our food was to which she replied "I knew I forgot something, I have it sitting over here I'll grab it". Even if your order doesn't include a red sauce, ask for a cup of it for your bread. Oye all the "gahlic" in the sauce (gravy); Luv it! This I not a small establishment either. In fact, a map may be something the restaraunt might consider haha. The menu is amazeballs. Speaking of balls, try the meatballs; Mangia. Oh!.....or you can just go for the all-you-can-eat Italian. Yaaaas. It's cafeteria style so, no worrys for those of you who avoid buffets at all costs. Angelo's offers a variety of wines that pair very well with any and all entrees. The Spaghetti Antonucci, is my automatic go-to for classic Italian with steak medallions. " molto bello". I'd like to see the garlic bread get some more love. Make sure you save room for dessert (it is at this moment i recommend you look up their dessert menu) and a nice after dinner coffee before you waddle towards the exit. The food was excellent. I ordered a porterhouse steak medium rare and it was perfect. I also got the pasta buffet as a side and the dishes I tasted were good to scrumptous. The lasagna left me salivating for more. Our server was prompt and met our every need. She was helpful as this was our first time at Angelo's. When she found out we were there celebrating my birthday she provided a sundae as well. The setting is cozy and the room lighting is warm. The quiet background music was enjoyable. The walls were decorated with variuos "beachy" items but were not at all garish. This will be my place to go if I want a steak or if I want an Italian pasta buffet.
