So I want to start by saying we had gift vouchers for Angelo's from one of the local hotels. Which is why we ate here. That being said we were glad we did. I had the filet and my wife had the strip steak both were cooked perfectly. We added a side of the cowboy toppings (onions bacon and horseradish). For side we had spaghetti with meat sauce and Italian green beans. It also came with salad and breadsticks. We did not try the buffet as my wife prefers table service. The desert was amazing even as to go, my wife chose the key lime pie and I opted for the peanut butter pie. The service was top notch. Angelo doesn't know how to make chicken francese. The bland, flavorless white sauce on my dish last night was NOT it. For 30 bucks I get white gravy on my pasta with a breaded chicken breast. Wrong. And my friend had the Alfredo, which appeared to be the same white paste with a little Parmesan stirred in. Again, highly disappointing. Is this an Italian restaurant or an IHOP?? Huge facility that's been here for a while. Great service and clean. Besides a large selection of steak and pasta, they also have an Italian buffet that looked pretty good. We started with a bowl of their She-crab soup. A little different than most in the area but it was seasoned well and had plenty of crab. They bring out a house salad and garlic bread to start. I had the Cowboy Chop which is a 22oz bone in ribeye and had their garlic mashed for my side it was pretty good. My wife has the chicken cutlets Marsala over pasta and she said it was great. Their Marsala was a little sweet but still very good. We took dessert home and it was the star of the show. This was our first time trying Angelo's. We were enticed by the thought of an Italian Buffet. We love Italian and have high standard as we have several great places back home. We were courteously greeted and shown to our table. They have several large dining rooms that are typical Italian decor but not tacky. Our wait staff was lovely and explained how everything worked for the buffet. Three of us did the buffet. Our elderly mother was graciously allowed to order from the children's menu as she doesn't eat much. In fact she could not even finish the child's portion. Salad and breadsticks were served before we ordered which was a nice touch. Now for the buffet review. We were mixed. The meatballs and Italian sausage were good as was the meat sauce. The lasagna, tortellini, stuffed shells, ravioli. We're all average at best. The ravioli in particular had must more pasta than filling making the ratio off. The pizza was decent with a good crust. We did not have a steak, but many near us did and they looked great. So, perhaps their advertising that they have great steaks is true and that may be the better bet. So, for us this was a disappointing visit. We would not be opposed to trying again and ordering a steak or even Italian from the plated menu. read more

This place was neat and clean with a cozy atmosphere, loved the large fish tank. Our salad came out first and was served in a large bowl for all three of us. This Salad was very good and so was the Garlic Bread that came with it. Our Filets came after we finished our Salads. They were amazing done just like I wanted and very tasty. The mashed potatoes were very good as was the Green Beans. I really liked this food all was hot, tasty and lots of it. All three of us loved the food and the cook on our Filets. We visited Myrtle Beach for a family wedding and looking around for places to eat that weren't in the family tourist areas we Yelped restaurants and initially passed on Angelo's because they had a less than 4.0 rating on Yelp. The hotel manager said that if we wanted a good steak dinner to give them a try because their steaks are amazing. I read the Yelp reviews and it seemed, that people were giving most of their low marks for the Italian Buffet. Ok people if you ever think you are going to get a five star dinner at a buffet, you should consider lowering your bar. We took a leap of faith and were glad we did. It was everything the hotel manager said it was. We each ordered the Ribeye that comes seared on a cast iron plate still sizzling. You get a large baked potato, salad and bread sticks like Olive Garden and we had great customer service from our server. I don't know what the individual Italian entree's are like but they looked good watching the servers bringing the plates by. The buffet was being destroyed by people who look like they go to too many buffets and you should take their reviews with a grain of salt. This place has became a restaurant I visit every time I'm in Myrtle beach. I generally go and get the evening buffet which is very reasonably priced. I took my little brother to eat here and he loved it as well everything was delicious. The food was fresh and the servers and the cooks who put your food in the plate at the buffet were friendly. I think their steaks are incredible. I have noticed they are cutting back on the bread and the salad. I continue to enjoy going there. My major complaint is that when I go alone they always try to sit me at the bar. They seem irritated when I refuse. I usually go around opening time so there are plenty places to seat me. Why would I want an uncomfortable bar seat to eat my 30.00 plus dollar steak? They need to quit assuming if you are alone you want to be seated at the bar or at least be nice when you refuse.
