My wife and I came here tonight looking for a nice place to celebrate our 15th anniversary. The restaurant is located in a shopping center and is small but nicely done. We decided to sit at the bar. The server greeted us promptly, took our drink order, and gave us time to look over the menu. When she returned with our drinks, she explained the specials. My wife ordered the boneless rib roast (I believe that's what it was called) along with the asparagus soup. I ordered the deconstructed Wellington, cooked medium rare. When we arrived, there was only one other table, though a few more couples came in shortly after. I will say up front -- don't be in a hurry. They appear to cook one table at a time. Many of the entrées are served under a smoked dome, which I assume is for presentation. While it looked nice, it didn't add any flavor. My filet and the mushroom-stuffed puff pastry with demi-glace were served with the smoke, but the mashed potatoes and asparagus came on a separate plate. I didn't really understand this, as there was plenty of room to plate everything together. My wife's beef was served on top of her mashed potatoes in a bowl. The asparagus soup was ok needed some more seasoning for sure kind of bland wouldn't get it again. Once we started eating, my wife noticed her mashed potatoes weren't very hot. I checked mine and found that even in the center they were only warm. I asked the server for additional demi-glace since what I had was cold. While waiting, I cut into my steak. I first tried using the butter knife, which didn't work, and had to switch to the steak knife. The meat was cooked great and was tender, but slightly tougher than expected. When the demi-glace arrived, it was still not warm, so I asked for it to be heated again. The second time it came back steaming, which helped warm up both the potatoes. Overall, the food was good, but temperature was the main issue. I could understand this if multiple tables were being served at once, but we were sitting at the bar watching the kitchen, and only one table's food was being prepared at a time. There were two people cooking -- one handling apps and salads, and the other working on the main courses. Perhaps if they worked together, food could come out faster and hotter. That said, we will be back. The food itself was good, and several other dishes we saw going out to other tables looked very good as well. And the desserts sounded good. One star taken away because of the food temp. otherwise 5.

Everything about this restaurant from the food to the service to the ambiance is amazing. You can't go wrong in ordering probably anything here. Boyfriend and I came for thanksgiving dinner with a reservation and had outstanding service and some of the best food for such a good price. Highly recommend

Amazing food and great service!! We're from SoCal and this place is comparable to great place in LA. We will come back! Definitely, don't pass this place by when you're in Myrtle Beach!

This spot was recommended to me by my mom who went to Myrtle a few weeks prior - said a MUST go to - and now I see why! It was 300/10. From service to presentation to taste it was everything we wanted! The steak was perfectly cooked and the seafood pasta couldn't have been fresher. Anytime I am in the area I will absolutely be going! Beautiful place with beautiful food!

42nd Street Bar and Grill is a quieter, more upscale (but not too fancy) option when you're ready for a relaxed dining option in Myrtle Beach. The restaurant felt calm, even with many of the tables filled. It made for a very pleasant dinner! We started with the Sweet Pepper Kabob appetizer, which featured large kabobs of filet mignon, peppers, and onions with a veal demi and onion straws. This was, undoubtedly, the best item of the night. The filet was tender and powerfully flavorful to the point that I personally found the demi entirely unnecessary. It's a must-get! I think it could even work as an entrée, depending on how hungry you are. For our entrées, I got the Seafood Pasta, which featured shrimp, scallops, and mussels on fettuccini with a parmesan cream sauce, and my companion got the Pan Seared Duck Breast, which came with a potato puree, brussel sprouts, cranberries, and a demi glaze. We both enjoyed them very much! I was particularly impressed with the lightness of the alfredo sauce. It can often be very heavy, but here it was a light coating that complemented the seafood without overpowering it. I'd recommend everything we got, but put the kabobs at the top of your list!

Visiting from out of town and wanted a great meal to end it well. After searching and searching…read moreonline we came across Aspen Grille. I was a bit skeptical because we passed it a few times on our way to different places in town, and from the outside you couldn't tell that it served upscale cuisine. But it had great reviews so we took a chance. Ambience: The inside was dimly lit with an old school feel. Reminds you of an old school New York establishment from the 80's. I liked it. It had a welcoming feel and I noticed there were at least two regulars the staff greeted. Food: We ordered an appetizer of calamari and the short ribs. Additionally, I was going to get the salmon but they had a special of red snapper with lump crabmeat, green beans and rice. The food was delicious. The calamari was one of the best I have ever tasted. The addition of the fried peppers complimented the dish well. They were nicely fried and seasoned. Very light crust which I love. Sadly I didn't get a chance to taste the short ribs because I was just too enthralled in my dish. The snapper was perfection! Everything on the plate paired well together. Also, if you're not going for an alcoholic beverage, their freshly squeezed lemonade is so refreshing. Service: I'm truly bad about remembering names and as is my usual, I don't recall the name of the waitress, but she was truly attentive and nice. She was also knowledgeable about the food and patient. Truthfully, all the waitstaff seemed genuinely kind towards the patrons, which was nice. If I am ever in the Myrtle Beach area again I will definitely be going back. Loved it!

The food was incredible -- I had a filet mignon, green beans and mashed potatoes, and it was all perfectly cooked to order. My husband had short ribs and said they were wonderful. We also had cocktails. On hearing we were celebrating our anniversary, our wonderful waiter Paul got free champagne for us. The meal was not cheap at all, but considering we spent $60 on a breakfast buffet somewhere else (and inflation in 2026,) we knew that was coming. Definitely the place to go to celebrate. It was an experience to remember!

We were really hoping for a great meal to turn around what had already been a stressful trip --…read moreafter an 8-hour airport delay and canceled flight on day one, and then scrambling to change hotels on day two after being offered a run-down room. Unfortunately, this dinner just added to our frustration. We had a 6:15 reservation and waited quite a while before a server arrived. When she did, she was very kind and took our drink and appetizer orders. But everything moved so slowly -- drinks and app took ages, and we placed our dinner order not long after. By 7:30, we still had no food. The server kept apologizing (she really was kind and doing her best), but it was clear something was off in the kitchen or with management. Eventually someone else came over, offered 20% off, and said our meals were "plating now" -- but that wasn't true, because we waited another 20 minutes. We were ready to cancel, and when the food finally came, I honestly couldn't enjoy it at that point. My chicken sandwich was nothing special (definitely not worth the wait), and my mom's scallops were salty and just bad. While our server was lovely, the overall experience with management and the kitchen was disappointing. Won't be back.
