We have been coming to this sushi place for years. Used to love them. The past few times it has never been the same, but this time was the worst. As I am pregnant and I am very careful with what I eat, I wanted a lighter clean option of salmon sushi. I chose the baked sushi as the menu ingredients are salmon, rice, California roll, green onions and ponzu. Well, I come to find out that they mix the California roll with Mayo and it's not real crab, it's imitation crab. They said I have to request the other California roll if I want the real crab. How are we supposed to know? The menu is deceiving. Most places cite "krab" or imitation crab. I am very disappointed once I found out the ingredients in this fake crab. Please, if you are like me and want to eat healthy, make sure they disclosed what's in yiur sushi. this is what's inside that crab meat I thought it was crab. Alaska Pollock (Msc Certified), Water, Egg Whites, Sugar, Potato Starch, Wheat Starch, Sweetened Rice Wine, Contains 2% Or Less Of The Following: Salt, Soybean Oil, Sorbitol, Natural And Artificial Crab Flavors, Sodium Tripolyphosphate, Sodium Pyrophosphate, Color Added. I also ordered a seaweed salad which I asked if there was any dressing or sauce and they said no. But it is extremely sweet, so I'm sure there is something. I'm just disappointed on the lack of care when customers are concerned about ingredients. Guide us to better options since you know what we are looking for. Or disclose what's in your food, on the menu. I also orders steamed dumpling not fried and now I'm curious if their pork meat comes fresh or if the dumplings are also pre made frozen full of additives. Just found out the seaweed salad comes frontage box and it's full of additives, also the Gyoza is from a box. So everything we ate came from a box and we paid expensive pricing for. We wanted to check this place out so we came here for a family dinner Friday night last week. The menu was pretty extensive and I love that they break down by baked rolls, hand rolls, etc. The place is also a nice little place and the ambiance was nice. To start, they served us miso soup, for free, that was nice. Then we got the tempura vegetables, which were rather addictive. We got 3 different sushis and for the kids, we got the udon noodles with tempura vegetables. Honestly, I don't think the kids meal was made for kids, the bowl of udon was a lot! I ended up eating it since it was such a big portion. It lost a star because the tab came to be about $75 for everything before a tip. I found that to be quite steep considering we didn't order that much sushi and more of tempura vegetables. I've been to really fancy sushi places that charge us less than that. Met friends here for dinner as a halfway point. Not near for me at all, but well worth it! I particularly enjoy the fact that they immediately greet you with a bowl of miso soup. We ordered the edamame with garlic and chili oil, which was tasty and can even go as far as say it's the best I've had. The heat was perfect and the edamame wasn't drowned in the seasoning, which can happen. I ordered the Heart Roll because how could I resist a roll so sweetly named? It was delicious and fresh. Typically, I order one roll first to see how full I feel and usually stop, but this night, I went on to order the Mango Tango (I think that's what it's called) roll because mango is one of my favorite additions to nearly anything. I was pleased with both rolls and would definitely order them again. We also shared the crispy rice with spicy tuna and even ended up having dessert. I had their house made salted caramel ice cream -- a perfect ending! My friends ordered the creme brulee and strawberry mochi, which both looked pretty tasty too. The menu is extensive, which makes me wish this place was closer for me, so I could work my way through it. Their sushi is good, but it's also artful making the eating experience more fun. I really wanted to like this restaurant and had been looking forward to trying it out for a while. Finally was able to go for an early dinner with my son on a Thursday evening and had a less than stellar experience unfortunately. We were seated right away and the restaurant was only half full. My son ordered a California roll and lemonade and I ordered an eel hand roll and shrimp tempura crunchy spicy tuna roll with tempura flakes and eel sauce. When our food was served the tempura flakes on my roll were extremely stale and had no crunch. I informed my server politely and she apologized and took the roll back to the sushi chefs for a remake. I could see the interaction from where I was sitting and the chefs looked visibly annoyed at having to remake the roll. A new roll was brought out to me about 5 minutes later but it was missing the shrimp tempura this time. When I politely informed my server she apologized again and took the roll back to the sushi chefs where another discussion took place with them glancing at me with obvious annoyance. She then brought the roll back to me and argued that this was the roll I had ordered. I informed her that it was not, I had ordered a shrimp tempura spicy tuna roll and she said she would see what she could do. My son had to use the bathroom so we got up from the table so I could take him and left our things at the table and were gone for a few minutes. When we returned our plates had been cleared including part of the roll my son was still eating. Another server brought the same wrong roll back to me for the third time and argued with me that this spicy tuna roll was the roll I had ordered. I politely said it was not, this was my first time dining there and it was becoming a frustrating experience and I just wanted the correct roll I ordered. She finally relented to try to fix the situation and walked back to the sushi chefs. At this point I was embarrassed and over the whole experience and asked to cancel the roll and for my check. My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary in Temecula and had reservations for another establishment. Obviously, we never made it to the other place. What a great surprise find since we both enjoy sushi (even on a raining day). Customer service was exceptional (it wasn't too busy during lunch time). So I have been to fire fish sushi 3 times. Two times were dine in. They have a really big menu and the staff has always been kind. The reason I'm giving it four instead of five stars is because the prices are on the pricer side for the quality of sushi. I mean it's good but I think I've had better quality sushi for better deals at other restaurants. Regardless I would still come back here to change it up. The take out was a stranger experience because I had a really good California roll but my salmon roll had some pieces taste a little funny idk what it was but it could've just been a bunch of ingredients or something‍. Anyway I like the atmosphere overall here and think a lot of people like it. That's why I still recommend trying here. My boyfriend and I went here on Friday for a late Valentine's day celebration. It wasn't surprising that they were busy since it was a Friday night. It was packed that day but we were still able to get a table without a wait. The sushi was delicious and I ended up ordering ceviche to go for a snack later that night. I'm so glad that I did, the ceviche was amazing and I wish I had ordered myself another. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It literally feels like it melts in your mouth. Their Philadelphia roll is a little different, in that it doesn't contain nori (seaweed), but the soy paper works really well. I also tried the scallop nigiri and mackerel nigiri and they were both delicious. Although they don't offer all-you-can-eat, it is still worth it to give it a try. I've been in Temecula for quite some time (came here in the 5th grade and now raising my kids here at 31). We've tried countless sushi spots, have seen many come and go... but this place right here is our absolute favorite. They have a wide variety of rolls and not just 234987 types of california rolls w/ a different topping/sauce but I mean VARIETY. They get creative w/ what they put on and in the rolls. Some of our most ordered dishes are: In n Out Roll (their take on a spicy tuna roll, deep fried and drizzled w/ a cilantro sauce of some sort), the Refreshing Roll (think of a rainbow roll but w/ all fresh fish, covered in a tangy/sweet ponzu-like sauce). I will admit, the interior could use a little updating but we like to sit outside on the patio anyway. Staff has been great every time we have been there. Wow! What a treat. As we approached we noticed a "B" rating from the health department and my son immediately didn't want to go in. I let him know how many positive Yelp reviews there were and we ventured in. It was early on a Sunday afternoon and we beat the lunch rush by only a few minutes. First time here, was passing through Temecula and this place pulled up with very high reviews. Upon entering there was a very pronounced "cleaner" smell, while its fantastic that they keep this place clean inside, and it was clean, its sort of an off-putting smell when you are about to order food. We were greeted fairly quick and sat at the Sushi bar, the chef nodded to us, we looked through the order and were brought water and miso soup to start with. We ordered a few items from their extensive menu, seriously they have a LOT of rolls and specialties to choose from as well as a happy hour menu. It was not very crowded at the time we went, sort of after lunch but before dinner, the staff here was friendly but not very engaging. Their menu is so extensive that it can be a little overwhelming. After a while, all the roll descriptions start to sound the same lol. But it's pretty convenient that they list the rolls by categories - e.g. Baked Rolls, Fresh Rolls, Deep Fried Rolls, etc. They also have some other standard non-sushi items as well such as teriyaki, udon, etc. All the rolls we ordered tasted good and had a unique spin to each of them so each one was completely different. This is not "authentic" sushi by any means I guess but it's good for what it is. I also got jumbo scallop nigiri and spicy yellowtail hand roll, both of them were also tasty. Very unique from other rolls I've had, highly recommend it. It's a tempura roll with fresh fish on top, and the dipping sauce in the middle is probably why the roll is so good. The second roll was a fresh roll called Tuna Slam. It was filled with spicy tuna and other goodies with pieces of spicy tuna and avocado on top. Really light and flavorful. Oh my, you wouldn't expect such magnificent sushi in such a relatively landlocked area, but fire fish never fails to amaze me! Their menu is huge, and the range of fish they offer is enormous. Multiple eel rolls (my favorite) and tons of amazing options including jumbo scallop. I ordered the black dragon, jojo roll, 2 eel sushi, and a jumbo scallop nigiri- my co-diners ordered a refreshing roll, the battle roll, and the lunch sushi set.
