I ordered my food to go, and unfortunately, the customer service wasn't the greatest. I didn't feel very welcomed and almost felt like I was more of a distraction than a customer. I ordered the spicy tuna roll, which was pretty average, and the Future Girlfriend roll, which was actually really good. However, $33 for two rolls felt a bit overpriced to me. To be clear, this is NOT a review on the food. The portion of fish is amazing, the quality so yummy. I have a problem with the service. This is coming from someone that has 6years of experience as a waitress, part of that working in a sushi restaurant. The staff was very unkind to my mother for having a gluten allergy. They stated that she cannot have the rice because of having gluten in it?? My mom react to the soy sauce, we have not had a problem with the sushi rice from this location. The tone that the first male server gave was giving "this is an inconvenience" so by stating the rice claim, almost to get us to leave all together. Then he says he will have all the rolls not have any sauce on top which was nice of him to offer. Then we had female waitress, Kelly, who we tried to ask a a question as she was passing. I watched her sit a table, clean a table, place a check before coming back to answer our question. (All I understand) until she walks by our table and pretends not to look at us. So I have to stop her again because one of the roles had a sauce on top. So I asked her if the sauce had gluten in it. Again. (2nd time I asked this question from her passing by twice) she acted as if this was a new question, and was trying to walk away. She assured the sauce does have gluten. So I told her that we already explained to the male sever that we cannot have gluten in the sauces. We kept that roll for the gluten people and order another roll for my mom to eat. She then asks us for another round of tea and brings us a teapot of just hot water.... Overall, I cannot stand when servers make you feel like an inconvenience. The Hana sushi staff by chaparral on Winchester is MUCH FRIENDLIER we are regulars to both locations. Why was the raw fish warm? I didn't feel well that evening after eating here. The staff, meh. Acting irritated as your customers are trying to pay you? We love Hana. We basically feel like family when we come. We know several of the staff and they are so incredibly kind. The food quality is excellent and I tend to order the bento box with teriyaki chicken and my husband loves to get the Omakase and hand rolls. We haven't had an unpleasant experience here. hana sushi does not play when it comes to their portions! came here for brunch on a monday, no wait time. not too busy but it wasn't completely dead, the atmosphere was nice. for the price, the portions made it soo worth it. we were not expecting how big each piece was for the nigiri so when the rolls came out we definitely ordered with our eyes & had a lot of leftovers! the service was attentive, efficient, & very patient since it was our first time. my favorite was the sunset roll but their other specialty rolls were not disappointing either. everything tasted fresh & amazing. they do have a lunch/dinner deal that we'll definitely try next time. read more

There was a hair on our rolls. The server took it back to the chefs, and they all laughed instead of apologizing. The chefs had no hairnets, although they had facial hair. They remade the rolls and sent them out, but never accommodated us for the hair or apologized. When you are paying sushi prices, you expect it to be clean and good. read more

I love this location off of Cal Oaks and have been coming for years since I was in high school. The staff are always friendly and the sushi always is so delicious and fresh. We were quickly seated and ordered Appetizers Tasting Menu. Gyoza and takoyaki were great. Mussels would be much better with the spicy mayo top. We also ordered 2 rolls each and took almost half of the food to go as the portions were huge! I can tell that absolutely each roll exceeded our expectations! The fish was fresh, the rice was perfectly cooked, the toppings were very generous, even scallops! Overall, the place was clean, our waiter was patient, friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing. We came here for date night on Friday at 7pm. The place was busy but there wasn't a wait for a table. We ordered the omakase platter as an appetizer, 4-6 rolls and a variety of Sashimi. Everything was good, and the food came out quickly. When we got the check we thought there was an error because it was only $91.00. We have paid double that for less quality of sushi in the area. I had this review at 4 stars originally because our waitress rarely came to check on us. At first I assumed it was because of how packed it was when we first arrived, but as the night went on and the sections cleared out, we had to ask for her 4 separate times so we could order again.
