Little street parking out front, so you'll want to pull into the street right before you get there. The dressing and sauces are arguably the best part but everything is delicious. I got nine vegan wings today for their dollar vegan wing special that happens every Monday for the foreseeable future. The wings were so great and really satisfied my craving for wings. The ranch they served with them was creamy and rich and honestly just right! I would highly recommend coming here for some vegan wings, especially on Monday because of the amazing deal they have going on. The food crispy wings and saucy just how I like it.y first time trying the buffalo chicken nachos and instantly became a favorite. The chips gotta be crispy and crunchy. Not oily at all. This was definitely made it to my top list for nachos. Even the chicken was tenderly cooked and sauced just right amount of ratio btwn spicy and tanginess. I usually am not a big fan of Buffalo sauces bc of the overpowering vinegar taste. This Buffalo is the perfect balance. The fried Oreos and fried pickles was a must order and reminds me of fair food. Hands down, these are the best wings I've ever had. My kid and her beau live in PDX and star by this wing joint, so off we went to dine here one drizzly evening recently. We found street parking right in front of the restaurant, and I immediately noticed the take-out window facing the street, so people can easily pick up thier ordered meals to take-out. Convenient! The restaurant interior was small but clean and warm. (I am older and have circulation issues, so I was a bit nervous to read other reviews saying that it was cold inside. But it wasn't at all when we were there, thankfully! It was just right). I liked the casual, hippie-ish decor (oh so Portland-y! Check out my photo of one of the main interior murals depicting Frido Kahlo, Jimi Hendrix and Rosie the Riveter. Is that Jerry Garcia or Barry Gibb in the middle? We debated that!). Placing our orders at the cash was easy. The gal was super nice. I can't eat spicy girls so I hesitated when choosing which sauce to have on the wings; she said I could get a sample of any of them before deciding. I just opted for the sweet barbecue sauce (the only option with zero "stars". My kid and her partner got spicier sauces that they love but would literally kill me lol). We sat at a table and waited a while for our orders to arrive. (It did take a while, but they make it all fresh, and there were quite a few other diners in the restaurant). When our dinners arrived, omg they were SO SO good. My sweet barbecue sauce was delicious: not cloyingly sweet, as some sauces are, and still definitely zingy, but just not spicy-hot. In other words, not boring. Definitely zesty and flavorful. SO so good. And my kid and her partner were "sweating balls", as they say - and loving it! And the wings themselves were cooked perfectly, with a crispy outer skin, not at all greasy, and moist and tender inside. Excellent. And messy good! I was looking for some good wings to take home and eat while watching football. I ordered wings and a side of fries online. I was given a pick up time and then a text that said my order was ready. When I presented to the pickup window I was told it wasn't ready yet. Same thing was told to another customer. There were several orders packaged and waiting to the side. I waited another 15 minutes or so. When I asked again, they grabbed one of the packages that had been prepped and waiting since I arrived. Same thing happened with the other customer. Meanwhile, there were other people who were walking up and walking off with their orders without waiting. I'd give a 1 star, but I did enjoy my wings and fries after I got home and reheated them. We wanted to come here after watching Sam Reid's Quest for the best wings in the US and they are dog friendly so it was the perfect spot for us to grab lunch. I went inside while my boyfriend sat on one of their picnic benches to get a menu and to let them know we would be dining with them. The employees were very friendly and polite. They brought out a huge water bowl for our dogs once we ordered. We got the 6 piece lunch special and 9 piece lunch special which comes with fries (but we asked for tator tots inside) and a drink. They make their lemonade here and it was good but a little too tart for my taste. They have coke products for their drinks but they also offer beer for your lunch special for an extra charge. My boyfriend got their sweet BBQ sauce while I got their spicy Thai peanut and Jamaican Jerk sauces. After a little bit, we got our food and we were surprised by how much they gave us for a lunch special! I got the cajun tator tots and the reviews did not lie: they were absolutely divine! The wings were very tasty and even if they were smaller than your usual wings, they delivered great flavors from the sauce. We were very pleased with the food, service and and overall experience. Although we didn't dine inside, the inside was clean and spacious and I love the different photos of customers inside. The bathroom was nice and clean as well as well stocked. Has anyone else noticed that FOTM has leveled up?! They were awesome for years and then seemed to hit a rough patch with low brow staff at some locations, customer service was awful, wings got smaller and smaller... then one day... Bang! Back on top of that mountain! We have noticed a complete turn around and could not be more pleased. FOTM is a local staple and as much an icon of the PDX area as the white stag Portland sign. We got the lunch special 6 wings w/ fries for 13 I got sweet bbq w/ kick...our fries came out first (I absolutely love their fries) piping hot, right amount of salt, and add ketchup and malt vinegar! My wings came out 5-7 minute because I get all flats and fried extra hard! I was so hungry and they were so good they were made perfectly and sauced just right. My husband had lime cilantro w/ medium kick I don't do spicy but, I had ate a few of them it had spicy but, it doesn't linger around! I always have a good time at Fire on the Mountain. The vibe is low key, and the food is good. It's clear everything is made fresh. I always appreciate the broad range of beer styles and their guest cider. It is a smaller location, so it can get a bit crowded at times, but it is overall cozy. Its small but has a good amount of seating both inside and out . The wings were excellent as usual. One thing that could be better is that for 12 wings you only get two flavors , I feel if they have an option of charging more in lieu of an extra flavor that would be so good . I don't want to get another 12 wings but would love to taste an additional flavor .Pricing is good and beer selection also goes well with the food. The food is really good, with a large variety of house-made sauces for the wings, some of the best tater tots in town, and really good sandwiches/wraps. We don't often indulge in the fried oreos, but they're a favorite when we do. Came here with some friends last weekend for the first time in years and it was still as good as I remember! The chicken and sauces were all quality. Food came out hot, and the wings weren't dry, which is always a great thing. Drink menu is on the small side here, but there are still a few beer and cider options if that's your thing. We have been to this location a good handful of times, but of those times there are more visits where they falsely advertised being open and we arrived and they were closed. In the last year we have had a craving for their food (I mean their sweet potato fries are really good!) and we look on google and see they're open. We drive 20 minutes to get dinner and arrive to seeing the business closed. There was one occasion where this location was closed and on their front doors they advertised saying other locations were open. We CALLED the burnside spot and the guy who answered said, "yep we're open." We then drive all the way to the location on Burnside which is maybe 10-15 minutes away and the second we got here they closed up early! We have mostly only had good experiences with the location near Sandy Blvd and 205, but that still doesn't make up the fact that they falsely advertise their hours of operations. Sure part of it falls on us calling before we go and even when we had they don't answer the phones. A proper business would have those corrected hours online or their social medias. The food we have had from here has been good, but the customer service at the interstate ave location is just awful -- this is coming from someone who doesn't give a crap about customer service. I can only rate 2/5 because the food makes up for it, but I am genuinely done with this business and their random closures. I'm sorry, but I don't think we will be eating here anymore. read more

Wow. What an experience. Tried FOTM for the first time since moving to Portland last night. It was horrible. Sat down at a dirty table, waited an hour for the food to be ready, and got the smallest wings I have ever seen. I'm the opposite of a lot of these reviews... I'm a FOTM lover and I LOVE that the wings were on the smaller side and seemingly organic. Big wings are gross and pumped full of nasty stuff so I appreciated how they kept true to smaller wings. However, they've obviously switched up their wing supplier and now have humungous wings the texture is gross and I didn't want to finish what I paid for. You can go to literally any other place for pumped full of hormone wings, so I appreciated that this was the 1 spot in town that cared about their wings & customers. Super disappointed. read more
