I really liked the honey garlic pork pizza. This pizza joint is unique for their toppings because it's very different compared to other locations. My friend and I were STARVING and by the time we had decided what we wanted to eat, it was midnight. RATS. The only other places open looked sleazy and I was not about to spend my night writhing in pain after pigging out on McDonalds, so we went to our fair-weathered friend Yelp and looked for pizza. We found Fire pizza. When we arrived, I took one look at the stale and dry looking slices in the window and almost immediately regretted my decision, but we were delighted to find that we could order a medium 3 topping pizza for less than $15. SCORE! We ordered a medium pizza with italian sausage, slice bacon (Canadian bacon for Americans), and artichoke hearts. The pizza was ready in 15 minutes. We took the pizza back to our place and destroyed it. It's not the best best pizza, but for the price and for the time of the night, they get 4 stars in my book. Dear Fire pizza, I have always loved your pies. They sit at the top of the Commercial Drive pizza smorgasbord. Recently I was diagnosed with celiac but I could still visit because they have a gluten-free option. My only recommendation is that they don't always make the GF pie the vegan pie I love cheese and meat toppings, and I'm sure your vegan customers prefer a traditional crust. Definitely the most disgusting pizza I've ever had in my entire life... ever. I thought I had bad pizza before but I haven't until now. I can't even believe they served me this garbage. I ordered a large vegan pizza that came to $32. The pizza is covered in potatoes... it's literally potatoes on bread. The sauce is just tomato with no herbs. Wtf kind of pizza sauce is this? There's maybe 10 shreds of daiya cheese on the whole thing. Basically, I asked for a pizza and instead got bread with tomato sauce and potatoes. A homeless person wouldn't eat this crap. read more

For the price, this place is not too shabby. Like most pizza joints, it is a little hole-in-the-wall that you might topple yourself into when drunk. I bet their pizza tastes magical when drunk. Unfortunately for me, this was not the case and I tried their pizza 100% sober. In terms of their actual pizza, I appreciated their experimental and wacky creations. I had some kind of Mediterranean style pizza slice, as well as a spinach and feta pizza slice. While I adored the Mediterranean, the spinach and feta left an unusual, uncanny, almost dry and "fuzzy" feeling on the roof of my mouth. It was a feeling that bothered me for the rest of the night. Even beer at neighbouring St. Augustine's didn't help. Was an underwhelming experience. Maybe it was sitting there too long and got over cooked by the warm lamps. The crust was thin crust and wasn't as crunchy as I would have liked. I had extremely minimal options for any type of food delivery services especially on a Friday Night 3:30AM and these guys delivered me a XL Cheese Pizza.. I am speechless. Pizza is not over excessively greasy like several other Pizza Restaurants so I was very impressed. It was very cheesy as I requested for double cheese and even had a tint of garlic which was awesome!!. The XL came with 8 FAT slices so my limit on a partial empty stomach was only 2. Driver arrived at 4:05 AM after placing my order at 3:42 AM with a quoted ETA of 30 Minutes. I ate here twice before while visiting Vancouver. I forgot what I had the first time (years ago), but I recently ate here weeks ago. I never had fish on my pizza nor "Indian-based" pizza before, so I ordered wild salmon pizza & chicken masala pizza. For the price two slices plus a can of cream soda, you're getting a lunch deal! Surprisingly, salmon goes well with pizza (I know, don't judge me for my taste). They didn't skimp out on the amount of salmon on the pizza slice. For the chicken masala, I expected it to be a bit spicy but the pepper powder wasn't enough to make it spicy for me. Nonetheless, I give this mom n pop shop a five stars because of the hospitality & their late night hours (which is rare in Texas). I'll be sure to eat here again when I visit Vancouver! read more

Check your receipt! Paying for this cheap pizza, I noticed the machine was up high. Tapped, then the clerk pushed a button said "All is good". I then asked for a receipt. I looked at the bill after I had left.He had added a 20% tip on to the bill. I usually tip cash. I live in the area and have been to Fire a few times. Will try to locate management, next week. Commercial Drive just keeps amazing me with their cute little holes in the walls...this is no exception. I found this place by accident as I was strolling by and, as I was passing this treasure spot, I peeked in and saw the most beautiful spinach pizza I ever laid my eyes on! The sight of that spinach pizza pulled me in. Immediately, I bought a slice. Great pizza, excellent price. Broccoli on pizza! Dessert pizza! This is the best pizza I have had in Vancouver.. Or anywhere, actually. I love how they don't feel the need to cater to the lowest common denominator by including basic pizzas like pepperoni - instead they always seem to have a variety of really interesting options both for meaty people AND for vegetarians! I think what made this place really win my heart was when me and Nicole F. went in a little tipsy, and after discussing amongst ourselves, decided that we would share a slice of dessert pizza (cream cheese, blueberries, and strawberries) as well as get our own slices. Although we had not said anything directly to the people working there, we realized later that they had actually gone to the trouble of cutting the dessert pizza slice in half for us! Whoa, this place is GREAT! I've always passed by the multitude of pizza places further North down the Drive, but last night a friend of mine wanted to pop in after we went to a gig at Falconetti's, and well, who can resist a slice of pizza at midnight after a couple drinks?! I was super impressed by all the specialty flavours! I was sorely tempted by the crab and shrimp but i went with the lamb because it looked fresher. It was a great choice and had just the right amount of toppings on it. My friend got a ham and pineapple which also looked pretty delish and had a lot of toppings on it. The icing on the cake (or should i say the extra topping on the pizza?) was that they have GARLIC SAUCE. It basically made my pizza even better than it already was! I think this is going to become a new pizza destination! This is hands down my favourite pizza place in Vancouver. It used to be Uncle Fatihs, but not anymore! And I will tell you why: For about $2 per slice it's not the cheapest, but you definitely get what you pay for. Most of their pizzas are loaded with cheese and other fresh ingredients. Classics such as Hawaiian, Meat Lover or Feta Cheese are all done very well and packed full of ingredients. Their crust is also quite crunchy and filling at the same time, unlike some other places where the slice is paper thin. For the more adventurous you could also try their Lamb Pizza, Sausage (with whole, half sliced sausages literally on the pizza), Salmon, and a Dessert Pizza which I personally think is too sweet but perhaps other sweet tooth will love (strawberry + blueberry and jam.) It's a family owned business; the owner / other family members are very friendly and makes sure your pizza is warm and fresh by reheating it in the oven if necessary, and also ensures you get your condiments worth in value. Also a smile goes a long way and they are always very warm and welcoming. Without saying too much the owner has also lived a very interesting life so if you get to know him he might tell you some very, very bad ass stories. Lastly they are open til 2 or 3 in the morning depending on the weekday, and if you are ever lucky enough you may get comp'ed a free slice with your purchase just prior to closing. read more

This little gem is fairly low profile, right on the tail-end of the Drive. $1.79 pizza slices, $3.99 for 2 Slices and a Pop. Unique pizza varieties, VERY fresh ingredients. No additives, whole wheat dough - I highly recommend it. I had the much raved about 'Spinach and Feta' pizza which was fantastic. I'm a spice junkie, so half way through the slice I added a dash of hot sauce. I also got a slice of the 'Spicy Chicken' pizza, which had me sweating a little (but in a good way), very flavorful. On a whole, the staff were very friendly, great food, great service. My only criticism would have been that even though the run the slices through the rotary oven again after pulling them from the display case - they still came out a bit on the cool side. Fire Pizza seems to be the favourite over Uncle Fatih's on the Drive now and it makes sense. I've never seen such an interesting selection of pizzas before. On occasion, they even have dessert pizza. And sometimes if you're there at the right time, they walk around giving out samples of garlic bread. My favourite is the Spinach and Feta pizza. Once they warm it up, they offer a few spoonfuls of fresh crumbled feta on top. So good. And they definitely don't skimp on the toppings. They also have broccoli as a topping for some pizzas. I have tried both 4 brothers pizza (right next door) and fire pizza and 4 brothers really doesn't even stand up to Fire pizza, It looks like 4 brothers is trying to copy every pizza that fire makes but there is no comparison! Fire pizza is as good as it gets in Vancouver for cheap slices of pizza. The Spinach and Hawaiian are by far my favorite and with the spinach slices they offer feta cheese YUM! The staff is always there to help right when you walk through the door and the owners are always there with smiles. I have also tried their chicken wings which are great for 6 dollars including tax for 10 (a lot cheaper than most other places) I will not be looking anywhere else for my slices when craving great pizza with garlic sauce! Tastes Great, Drunk or Sober. Best pizza on the drive. No matter how inebriated you are. I usually go here looking to soak up all the dark rum and Parallel 49 circulating my weathered body. That said, I once came here totally and utterly almost sober and it was still just as delicious. Desert pizza - certainly a head turner. Foregoing meat in favour of fruit is a travesty which I'd usually class on par with war-crimes. Wow! It's rare to find a place that serves organic and incredibly fresh ingredients for the same price as the cheaper popular places. I was brought here by a coworker and he was so right. Huge slices, heavily weighed down with a wide variety of delicious ingredients and quickly ran through the oven just before serving. Pizza selection is unique and varied. I usually order one lamb and one vegetarian, which feeds husband and I for 2 or 3 days. Service can be hit or miss, I've found. Everyone who works there is quite nice, but sometimes I run into a language barrier with the staff.
