Visiting from out of town and after wandering around the downtown area I popped into Firecreek to warm myself up and was not disappointed. The place is very cute with lots of art for sale on the walls and an awesome reclaimed wood bar. I had the mocha and an amazing macaroon. "Breakfast ends at noon." (So if you're a minute late tough luck.) I chose to come here TODAY because I saw on Google Maps that it mentioned free wifi and I needed to get on my computer for a couple hours. I also just wanted to try a different place other than Macy's European Coffee House and Bakery, which I usually go to when I visit Flagstaff. When I arrived, I got on my computer right away as I needed to get some stuff done. After sitting for awhile I noticed the atmosphere inside was pretty nice, and I liked that there were plenty of places to sit, with lots of space to move around. Also the stone red and gold wall was unique. I was starting to like the place. After getting some work done, I finally decided to get some food. The food and drinks here look good, and I noticed their Liége Waffle, which looks amazing, and went to order it, but apparently I missed the cut off time for breakfast by 8 minutes (it was 12:08) and the tall barista guy was kindly rude enough (no "sorry sir but our breakfast ends at noon, would you maybe like to try some of our other lunch or pastry items?") to make sure I knew that. I got the same slight rudeness when I asked for the wifi password when I first arrived, but thought maybe he was just busy and didn't give it too much attention. But it seems either my long hair, brown skin, or 75th Ranger Regiment shirt I was wearing which has a skull, axe, and knife on it triggered something in him. So since he was definitely strict about breakfast ending at noon and couldn't make any other suggestions of what I could get, I instead decided not to order anything and will be heading back to Macy's European Coffee House and Bakery or just save my money and drive back to Kayenta and get some pastries and drinks at Monument Coffee Company. Maybe some professional development on how the staff could suggest other favorite food items people usually get, if a food a customer want is not available for ordering, would be good for some of the staff here. Or have the staff make last call announcements for breakfast. Or just hire people who can help someone craving a waffle ha! read more

Nice breakfast; great location; lots of seating My husband and I had a very good brunch here. We each had the quiche of the day (kale, tomato and Parmesan), and it tasted great and was served hot. Along with the quiche came a delicious salad: spinach, pinenuts, blackberries, avocado chunks, and slivers of strawberry and carrots, topped with raspberry vinaigrette. The cafe also had some pastry. The menu is not extensive. See attached photo. We each ordered a house coffee. The coffee came in a rather small cup, but we got a free refill. In the middle of the cafe is a small bar. At the back of the cafe is an elevated stage. Perhaps they offer entertainment. The cafe is located in the heart of downtown Flagstaff across the street from the Flagstaff train depot/visitor center. The train depot parking lot also serves as a hub for the Arizona Shuttle, taking people by van to locations such as Phoenix (Phoenix Skyharbor airport and Metrocenter Mall), Sedona, and the Grand Canyon. This coffee house is close to the interesting downtown shops and restaurants. We parked at the train depot ($1.00/hour; 15 hour maximum) and walked across the street to Firecreek Coffee. The cafe has a lot of seating and is spacious. When we visited many students were sitting at tables using their laptops. My only criticism is that almost all the seating consisted of hard wood benches and hard wood uncushioned straight-backed chaired. However, there were about 6 cushioned armchairs in the back of the cafe. This is a nice spot and we plan to return. read more

I came here at about 9:30 in the morning only to learn that they were out of pourover coffee which is strange because I don't know how that could happen unless you run out of filters. I got a cup of french press instead and when I asked if they had any medium roasts they didn't really give me a clear answer and instead just told me about the coffee regions. I don't know anything about french press coffee so I have no solid opinions on it but I thought it was pretty good. I also got a quiche and the breakfast sandwich which we're great and came super quick. read more

This is a review for the coffee only as I was not able to make it for the beer and live music. The decor is unique and fun, but could probably be done a little better. The tables are small, and hard to sit at if you are the slightest bit tall. The coffee is good, but not excellent. It will warm you up and caffeinate you but don't expect to be blown away by any of it. All that said, I still like this place and would definitely go back. read more

So they changed the menu of stuff from a year ago. That's fine but it's a holiday weekend and they ran out of burritos. Also that's fine at least they had one Vega burrito which was quite good. The one star is because we ordered drinks, had our shared burrito and no one ever acknowledged us where the drinks were. I'm not the type to be upset except this girl came in after us got all her drinks n food right away. Along with another gentleman who let's just say both him and the girl had matching skin colors. I was more of the darker descent. Again I get it, but I had to remind them of the drink I ordered which was a cold brew, like you just pour the shit man come on. Also no brunch was available which was the only reason I came. Also got a 16 oz iced mocha with ONE extra shot of espresso which came out to $10. Not to mention it's filled mostly with ice. Went in for a beverage before exploring the farmer's market this weekend. Great service. I was impressed by the custom menu of coffee drinks! I ordered the Horchata Latte and loved it. If you care about the way service industry employees are treated do NOT spend your money here. Last week I witnessed someone who I assume was a manager (the tall guy with a mustache) yelling rudely at the employee working the espresso machine from across the room. Not only is this an unacceptable way to treat employees, but it is also incredibly unprofessional and creates an uncomfortable and hostile environment for customers. I have been coming to Firecreek for a while, and the baristas have always been incredibly kind and welcoming - the music was wonderful and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The atmosphere has been far less welcoming in the last few months, however, and I've noticed that several of my favorite staff are no longer working there. After witnessing this interaction the other day, I will not be going back to Firecreek Coffee. The way that this man treated his employee was beyond unacceptable and I don't feel comfortable supporting a business where this kind of management is permitted. If I could give Firecreek 0 stars, I would. read more

Sadly this was my first experience with the beans. I tried the Campfire Coffee beans from my local Az Whole Foods on a recommendation from the resident coffee guy there. Now I'm no stranger to coffee and have used everything from a Hario V60 to a French press, to a plain dripper (ugg, not anymore). long story short I could NOT get a good cup of coffee from it. I've been through about 1/2 the bag and I can NOT get a decent cup out of it yet. Beans smell distinctly sour straight out of the bag with a hint of woodiness to it. Beans are lightly roasted but crackling around the edges, making me think this batch was severely under roasted (or this is the general roast profile for this particular batch. I tried about 7 or 8 different grind settings on my Baratza encore but was shocked at how sour it got with even the slightest HINT of a coarser grind. Even at the "perfect" ratio for this coffee, it was a hint of sourness and a heavy wood taste to the bean that was just very unpleasant. I switched to a finer grind where the over extraction bitterness kicked in, but even then there was this unmistakable sourness in the back of the swallow. I'm not trying to be a coffee snob, but both my wife and my friend (whom I drink coffee with about every 2-3 days) thought it was very weak at the "perfect" setting and pretty much undrinkable at the coarser settings. I hope this is just a bad bag that I got, but it certainly wasn't pleasant to drink read more

I have been using Firecreek espresso beans for so long so I was beyond excited when we finally went to Flagstadd to actually come here. Silly me, I went with a mocha instead something straight up like espresso over ice or a cortado. I did not like it at all. Honestly, it was my own fault. The vibe of the coffee shop is awesome and I liked everything else about this place but just sad that my in person coffee did not live up to the hype. read more

Horrible service and I regret that we went out of our way to try this place. The workers were so rude and did not know how to treat paying customers with respect. My sister got a ice coffee with a lot of coffee grinds at the bottom of her cup, so she went up to the girl to explain her situation and the girl just said that it was normal.... and that she just wanted a new coffee. We stopped in here this past weekend for a quick drink and chose this shop for something new and its great views of the train tracks (my 2 year old son's current obsession). Upon stepping in the door I was greeted with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. My one disappointment was that they did not have any sugar-free syrups, but on the plus side, they make all of their syrups in house. I look forward to trying them when my diet is not restricted! I opted for an earl gray tea (they had a great selection of teas) and a hot chocolate for my son. They both tasted great and my son's hot chocolate was the perfect temperature for a toddler! I could tell they do not cater to children too often, but they were great with us and we felt very welcome and enjoyed our time there. We stayed for about an hour and enjoyed the atmosphere and the trains going by. I asked for a to-go cup for my son's drink and they nicely offered to fill up my tea with fresh hot water. I've lived in Flag for 4 years and am kicking myself endlessly for only just visiting this gem. I had a cold tea (delicious) and my SO had a hot matcha lavender blah blah blah!--anyway! They rent the space, and the rented space is actually a very sizable and clean venue. They do a lot to keep the place looking nice, but the staff promotes feminist events and that is very annoying. These customers love to bring their dog, but chain their dogs on the sidewalk while they have a gay ole time inside, while their poor dogs are in the extreme cold or heat. The staff is nice, but their events are totally one sided, and if youre not a feminist, you cant book events or work with them. read more

The coffee here has very rarely been good. However, I used to enjoy coming here because of the ambiance and baristas. However in the last 6 months the last of the baristas I liked have left and now only blunt, and rude baristas remain. I've heard awful things about the owner, although I'm not sure how true the rumors are. Regardless, things have gone downhill. I will miss coming here. read more
