Management/Owner - It was just reported two female college students had their drinks spiked w/a date rape drug Rohypnol at your establishment last weekend. Parents called to inform you of this with the hope you would look into it, security video perhaps? Yet you shrugged off their inquiry? So, you make money off these students every weekend, likely more than half of your sales in a small town like Flag, and you aren't willing to do more to keep them safe or provide any assistance given there's proof that this took place in your establishment? Pull out your security videos, work with the parents and the Flagstaff PD to catch these predators, add more security and eyeballs on busy nights, collectively band with other bars and clubs in town to keep our college students and your patrons safe. We just celebrated my husband's birthday at the Museum Club (The Zoo ) and can't say enough good things. We were originally going to use their large patio (with new rain/sun cover) but due to weather moved inside. The staff was friendly and SUPER helpful. We had our own bartender and decorating was encouraged. Used Artisan's kitchen as our caterer and hired the house band The Zookeepers ( They are awesome!!!) Fun and dive-y country bar. TIP: Bring cash. There may be a cover depending on when you show up. We came by on a Saturday and there was a $5 cover since they had live music. Cash only for cover fee. There's an ATM on the premises but it charges a $3 fee. Fun atmosphere here. It's a pretty large space with ample seating. TWO-STEP: Ladies, if you're flying solo (i.e. without a man), be prepared to have random fellas ask you to two-step. I'm not from the South so this is new to me. I declined as I only dance with my sweetheart (actually, neither of us really dance, haha). My female friend (who is originally from Texas) embraced the opportunity and had a lot of fun on the dance floor. My one complaint? It was freezing in here! I sat shivering inside my jacket. Way back in the day when I first attended NAU, during freshmen orientation week, we gathered in the old men's gym and administrators met with us and provided a verbal walk-through of the campus and City of Flagstaff. No BS, we were told to avoid going to the Museum Club because it was too rowdy, and we would likely get in trouble there. Therefore, it was not until April 10, 2021, after the Covid thing had calmed down, that I and my old high school buddy rode our Harleys there and stopped in when they opened at 11 AM and had a cocktail. I forget our bartender's name, but she talked about the facility and explained how she came to work there. Very nice lady; interesting stories. It was a last minute thought to stop into the Museum Club on a Monday night. It was too early to head to the hotel, and my wonderfully adventurous wife and I decided to just take a look. It's slow on a Monday night, and guessing from the random guitar & singers it's Amateur Night @ the Museum Club. We easily found a seat and settled back to listen to these folks pour their heart & souls out through their guitars. Their skills were pretty darn good and, definitely better singers than me. The bar is so old school cool as is the entire place. I can only imagine this place is hopping Friday & Saturday nights, but tonight the laid back vibe was the perfect ending to a busy day. Hand in hand with my wife, we sipped Guinness and enjoyed the atmosphere, people watching and of course great conversation. The volume level was absolutely perfect to hear them and hear each other talk. I'm not even sure if they have food, but the beer was cold... 'Nuf said. So, if you're looking for a laid back Monday night, point your car towards the Museum Club on a Monday night to hear the locals entertain you for free. Will we be back? A total hoot. Can't speak to the truth of the not-as-favorable reviews, but we ambled in on a Wednesday night at around 7:30 and had no idea what we walked into. It was a $5 cover, but if you bring a friend, you can buy a pitcher of beer for $3, which my California-addled mind didn't believe at first. But the best part was the dancing. The line dancing was not stodgy and stiff like I've seen elsewhere where most of the clientele could be my parents are older. People were rowdy, and they knew how to be. And in between line dances, there were some country swing two-steppers doing flips on the floor. The $5 was worth it for the show. Later that night, the bar entered frattier territory. College students lined up around the building and the floor got sticky. But even then, I had a good time. The crowd rushed the floor for Footloose, the vibe was merry and raucous, and it made for a memorable visit to Flagstaff on a snowy spring night. read more

Well it's been at least 20 years since I spent a Saturday night at the Zoo Club, and not much has changed. I was in town and went with my daughter so she could experience it. What fun. We had a great bartender who made a mean watermelon Moscow mule for me. There was a great band up from Tucson that was fun and had a great harmonica player (self taught we are told). I am a regular at museum club and i love coming to dance with friends and the staff is always so wonderful but on friday night another guest had brought their dog in and it was not on a leash and was running around barking and biting dancers including myself, no blood was drawn on me but I know a few other dancers were bit. it was just really disappointing to see that the owner of this dog was unconcerned with the situation and the only people trying to get this dog under control were staff and other patrons. read more

Okay, I admit I'm a tourist, in Flagstaff for my nieces graduation from NAU. I LOVE Flagstaff. What a great town...very impressive. We basically stumbled upon Museum Club because my niece had such fun there over her years there. This place is unique and epic. Historic and unusual and fun and AWESOME. Dirt cheap drink prices and an environment that might not exist anywhere else...and we travel extensively! Have I gushed enough? I read these 1 star reviews here and I think...this is a bunch of whiny NAU freshman who's fake ID was exposed and they're unhappy being given the boot. As to the persistent "racist" label I've read....I gave a young African American guy my cover charge money. The band the night we were there was the Hopi Clansman. At least 70% of the bar attendees was Native American. I suppose I was there on an unusual night...but I suspect not? A racist bar that occasionally has "diversity" night? Hmmm. As a touring Band, we were unaware of the late night metamorphosis, the whole crowd changed and the club turns into a Teen Club complete with No Alcohol Served. COMPLETE DISRESPECT FROM EVERYONE. My first night there, I stuttered over one word and the bartender decided that I was so drunk that he wouldn't serve me at all the whole night I was there. Then, decided to go a second time and got the same treatment from the same bartender (it was a young bartender with tattooed stripes tattoo), he smiled and talked to everyone else he served, but us. He wouldn't even take our order, took everyone else's before us, and didn't even give us the right drink that we ordered. The people there were so completely disrespectful and we got kicked off the dance-floor for not doing the perfect line dance. I wanted to have a fun moment of dancing with my friend and got completed disrespected because I didn't want to follow the dances that everyone else was doing. The bars in downtown Flagstaff are fun if you're in the right frame of mind but if you're in the mood for something off the beaten path, check out the Museum Club. This place totally reminded me of Double Deuce from that Patrick Swayze movie, Road House - except everyone was totally nice here and there were no underground cowboy gangs, as far as I could tell. There was a $7 cover charge and a band started at 9:00 pm. The dance floor is packed with country folk that love to dance. If you know how to two-step, bring your dancing shoes! The group I was with walked in and paid a "cover", as I walked in I was told I wasn't allowed in because I had a drink, which they didn't know what it was. Also made a deal of getting the cover back. We were there for maybe 2 minutes. I will never go back. I don't recommend going. The cover for a crap dive bar is a red flag on its own. The bowling ally next door is a better spot. I'm not sure there are words to exactly explain the feeling you get inside the Museum Club. There is a magic in the air of honky tonk, Coors, and days gone by. This a country music venue and bar, but to write just that feels wrong. People visit Sedona for the vortex, and the energy and inspiration they feel from that spiritual awakening. For country music fans, our vortex is in Flagstaff. Here is a taste of this place: A stage with velvet red curtains that surround the band, a huge gorgeous stained wood dance floor, dark booths that surround the room to cuddle up with your date in, 2 bars on both sides of the club, servers hauling ass around the room to get you cold drinks in boots and daisy dukes, dimly lit chandeliers made out of antlers, animal hides, skulls, and antler adorn the walls, bare tree trunks reach from floor to ceiling, pool tables in the back, and warm wood everywhere. Nothing I can wrote will ever do the Museum Club justice. It is an experience not a place. read more

Update: Stopped by again since we were in the neighborhood. Guess who was there? Nope. Keep guessing... close. No! It was Jane! I'm pretty sure she never actually left. I feel as though time froze when we walked out the door 8 months ago. I stepped in and was magically transported to exactly where we left off. It was like a poorly written Quantum Leap episode. Friendly as ever. The Sunday regulars were quite pleasant and positive. But maybe it's because Jane was singing an uplifting song under her breath. Something like "Make today a beautiful day..." or something close. Well she does. Even in times of stress and uncertainty, which is where we are currently, something as simple as a smile from Jane will break you out of your panic attack and remind you that life isn't as difficult as we make it. My first time in Flagstaff. The hotel suggested visit the Musium club. So at lunch time I walked over to check it out. Tried to sit at the bar, but the seats were all reserved. So I ordered a drink and sat at a table off to the side. I have no idea if this place serves any kind of food for lunch. There wasn't anyone checking if I needed another drink, or lunch. After about 30min or so I paid for my 1 drink and left not impressed. I think the Management staff was sitting right infront of my table, and nobody moved. read more

We absolutely loved this bar! We came on a Sunday night, so it wasn't too crowded but the workers made us feel welcome and at home. I live in Phoenix and my friend was in town from Ohio so we decided to stop by while we're in Flag for the night and since we are used to the "country" scene. Got to the bar and had our ID's checked, 5 minutes later a worker asked if we got our ID's checked again. On our way out some worker asked for our ID's but he looked like he was on drugs and I didn't think he was an employee so tried to brush him off so we could leave, he grabbed my shoulder a pulled me back, he also accused us of sneaking in, when we came in the through the front. He then called the manager over and she grabbed our ID's and took us to the front. She then wouldn't allow us to get our card from the bar till our arms were stamped. This place needs uniforms or the staff needs to introduce themselves as staff. First time there and they are so unorganized, the manager is very rude, the front ID checkers don't do their job, and an employee grabbing me is unprofessional. If you want to go to a place that checks your ID's every 15 minutes, has terrible service, and a bar that's dead feel free we will never come back that manager needs to get her bar and staff organized. I am 60 years old and wanted to go there with my daughter (18), but they would not let us in. "Because of the law". My daughter does not drink alcohol, we just wanted to listen to some live music. Super racist bouncers. I'm a darker complexion and was treated VERY different than all the WHITE people in front of me before paying to get in. A bouncer even took my debit card and questioned if it was mine? Oh and the beer they have there is overpriced and not worth it, I recommend going to the Lumberyard.
