The farm also grows eucalyptus and protea, adding even more texture and color to the entire experience. In addition to the picking, the event has a small festive vibe with local vendors, live music, and food trucks. Whether you're grabbing a cold drink, shopping handmade goods, or just enjoying the music under the beautiful trees, there is something for everyone. The whole setting is incredibly photogenic too, especially in the afternoon light. This venue is both family- and dog-friendly. Admission is only $5 and includes parking, making it a very affordable outing. They sell lavender by the bundle, so you can take home as much (or as little) as you'd like. Just a heads-up: the farm is on a windy/country road, and cell reception is limited, so it's best to plan ahead and download directions before you go. Also, wear good walking shoes and bring sunscreen, it gets warm out there! There are tons of bees, so 'bee' respectful of them. What makes this place extra special is the story behind it. Upon arrival we were greeted, given a succulent and tickets. The Dickinson Family atrium is a fabulous space with hanging plants and so many examples of indoor/rainforest plants. We walked the entire grounds!! My fitness tracker said it took me two hours to walk two miles- I kept stopping to take pictures and read the plant placards. We walked around though many different gardens. From the rainforest of Africa and past the waterfall to the desert area with native plants. There was an example of a Native American village complete with hut and grinding stone. We hiked up to the look out point where you can see the Pacific Ocean. There is a children's garden, playhouse, and a sandbox with toys. There are walking trails through out and many benches. I highly recommend bringing water, a hat, sunscreen and snacks. There is a small gift shop with a small selection of snacks. They have a large selection of plants to purchase!!

I went to the flower fields in Carlsbad towards the end of the season in late April. Initially I…read morethought I'd made a bad call when I purchased the tickets because after buying them I saw so many reviews online saying how the flowers were already all gone, and how it's a waste of money for an Instagram photo shoot. But I didn't find that to be my experience at all. I do think that the ticket cost is pretty steep, but my husband and I had a really lovely experience here. There were still a lot of flowers in bloom when we went. I could tell that a lot had withered away at this point already, but I was still happy with what we were able to see. It did make a lovely backdrop for lots of cute photos, and I got plenty of enrichment being by so many beautiful flowers. We also spent over an hour picking our own blueberries. Since we went so late in the season, a lot of the good blueberries had already been picked, so there were slim pickings. It took a long time to gather two good basketfuls, but it was fun (and actually really tasty). Definitely another reason to go earlier in the season next time. It was a great place for a date, and we got lots of steps in while doing so many fun things like the sweet pea maze, watching the birds, and venturing out to find the sunflower field. I thought it would be a one-and-done, but we are actually looking forward to going back another year!

We took the tractor ride which took us all around the fields. They also have different little sectioned cut outs in the fields to take pictures and walk in the flowers. Please do not go over the tape and trample the flowers, there are literally spots designated to walk in the flowers and take photos without hurting them. We also went inside the butterfly room! That was soooo fun :))) We had lots of butterflies land on us and fly around. It's $8 per person but I recommend it! They also have many different snack options, a sweet pea maze, and an inside orchid exhibit. Lots of things to do whether you're a kiddo or an adult! They also had field trips with elementary school kiddos while we were there. So cool that they have programs for kiddos to learn more about plants and agriculture :) Parking- There's plenty of parking. If the lot gets full, the outlet mall is next door and has more parking. Pricing- Pricing has gone up, but is so worth it to keep the fields growing! The tractor ride and butterfly exhibit cost $8 per person, but we enjoyed it :)

Everything from their front gate entrance, to the walkways around the property, to the pool and jacuzzi, everything is so nice. I highly recommend this stay for anyone visiting! The rooms are tiny houses built by Greg himself. He has put all his life experience in design and construction into these homes and they are definitely something to see for yourselves. We stayed at his latest build, The Beach House, which was beautiful! The tiny house is fitted with everything one might need to take a small vacation; two beds, two floors, HDTV with Netflix, bathroom, and full kitchen. There are plenty of little areas between areas that Greg has put in there to allow for storage while still having the little homes feel uncluttered and open-floored. The pool area is so nice! There's a very nice pool lined with a great selection of plants, palm trees, and a small waterfall feature. There's a jacuzzi that you can jump into and enjoy. There is a couple small tables where you might want to sit and eat something, a chimney with firewood already provided by Greg and Michelle, and a BBQ if you want to chuck some steaks on there and grill. All in all, Greg and Michelle have an amazing business that is truly an experience. Thank you guys for the hospitality, we'll definitely be back!

We never had stayed at a B&B before and what sold us was that we would have our own little house. Greg, her husband, is a retired contractor and built these himself. What a beautiful job he has done. So quiet, which is what we needed. The Pool and Spa area are out of a Hawaiian Oasis. Coral Trees are much like the Banyan Trees there. Now there is the 5 star breakfast Michelle makes! Better and healthier than most restaurants. We feel we have made new friends in this lovely couple. Can't wait to return.
