Quinoa bowl with two sunny side up eggs

Service - A+ (friendly, fast, welcoming, food comes out quickly) Food - we have only come here for breakfast several times. I want to come for lunch as the menu looks amazing. Scrambled eggs with ham - with a side of tomatoes. Delicious. Quinoa bowl with two eggs over medium - comes with potatoes, bell peppers, mushrooms, avocado, quinoa, shredded cheese. You have the option of bacon or ham - I always choose diced ham. This is my absolutely favorite item on the menu. All their drinks were fantastic - black coffee (strong), vanilla latte (great) served in a Christmas mug (fun!), hot chocolate (great), hot honey ginger tea (very very yummy). The toast is served slathered in butter and with a tiny side of grape jelly. The grape jelly is AMAZING. I could eat an entire vat of that jelly by itself!!!! Highly recommend this place - it's off the beaten path restaurant. It's located on the corner/street side of Cerritos nestled within a small business park.

Cute lil hole in the wall. Seems like a local spot. Casual dining, attentive staff, fast service. A place where the usuals come serving the community and service folk. Very huge portions, shouldn't leave hungry. Good prices during these times. Mom n pop spot.

Ortega Melt w/ fries. Keepin' it simple. :)

Hidden place, cute atmosphere stopped in on a whim. First off, great service as I came in close to closing but they would not let me leave and happily served me with a smile (I try really hard not to be that person coming in right at closing). The breakfast options look great so I'll need to return with the fam some morning. Ordered an Ortega Melt as that one of my lunch staples, on point. :)

So, we drive by this place all the time. So finally tried it for breakfast. OH MY GOD. It's so good. Good size portions and prices are better than most. The whole meal was cooked to perfection, like I requested. The ham steak is to die for. Very laid back atmosphere. Our server Lori is amazing. It reminds me of the quaint restaurant in Montana. Highly recommend.

Great breakfast spot with very friendly staff. My omelet was cooked to perfection and my hash-browns were nice and crisp. I like the fact food is unsalted to allow me to salt at my own risk. I did not get the young ladies name who was my server but she was a sweetheart. Great atmosphere with staff greeting anyone walking in.

This is my in-laws go to breakfast spot. We have been many times with them, but today we trekked there alone. The chorizo scramble plate is huge. My husband is a hearty eater and could only finish half. Leftovers will be great tomorrow! I opted for the chicken fried steak plate and it was pretty good. Also, a large portion and I have leftovers. My gravy was lukewarm so that was a disappointment. But overall the experience was good. The service was top notch. Jen was on top of it. By far one of the best servers we have ever encountered.

First time visitors Indoor and outdoor sitting Parking lot shared with other businesses Place open at 7am serves both breakfast and lunch ! Upon walking in very much local establishment but you might be standing awkwardly in the doorway to find a place to sit or asking the staff if it was ok to sit at the bar as we did Order veggie sandwich with onion rings and pastrami sandwich with salad Good tasty great. Fresh, crisp, right about of portion, not greasy and easy on the stomach. Reasonable pricing. Only concern is observing the servers helping with some of the kitchen tasks like toasting bread but not wearing gloves and still taking orders and going back and forth. Also one of the busser was eating his breakfast behind the counter while working and assisting and others. Overall great place and ambiance, but I be a bit concern of the cross contamination if or when it may occur.

Coffee's good & they refill often!

From the outside Firehouse Cafe is unassuming, located in a small business park. The inside is also pretty basic but it's cozy & welcoming, allowing the excellent food & service to take the spotlight. The menu offers traditional as well as creative takes on Breakfast & Lunch choices. Portions are generous & taste homemade. Prices while not low (but what is these days?) are the same or even a few bucks less than other places that aren't nearly as good. Thumbs up on the quality Coffee & they're spot on with refills. The Feta Omelette's a winner. Filled with spinach, tomatoes & mushrooms generously festooned with crumbled Feta Cheese. The tomatoes (instead of potatoes) were ripe & a nice thickness. Sometimes tomatoes as a side are just plain sad. My choice of toast was the tasty Rye Bread. The BF was happy w/ the Burger Patty, over medium Eggs & country Potatoes. Their hash browns are also good. Other terrific dishes we've had: - Tuna Melt...Crispy, buttery toast & creamy tuna. A guilty pleasure. - Quinoa Bowl...So good! A variety of sautéed vegetables, avocado, diced potatoes, choice of meat such as ham or bacon & 2 eggs any style all atop tender quinoa. - Country Sausage Omelette (not for the faint of heart...it's creamy & rich!) Other winners: - Eggs Benedict Florentine - The Big Breakfast Burrito - The Mexican Chicken Sandwich. This one features a grilled chicken breast on a Torta roll. The flavor is crave-able with Melted Provolone, cilantro, avocado & red onions. Sometimes there's a wait but tables & booths are bussed quickly & you're bound to sit at a table or booth soon enough. There's also a counter. You pretty much can't go wrong with any menu item & parking is usually never a problem. Whether you come solo or otherwise you hopefully will feel at home. They seem to really appreciate you coming in & happily refill your beverages too!

Service was great! I am a cinnamon roll lover, and I loved their warm glazed cinnamon roll. It is large and took it home to eat over the next couple days. Upon arrival, we were informed that the prime rib was only available during Father's Day weekend. It would have been nice if that little detail had been mentioned in the post that inspired the trip. Since we were already there and starving, we decided to stay. Mistake #1. The medium rare top sirloin arrived looking like it had lost a fight with a blowtorch. It was so overcooked and rubbery that we couldn't finish it. We brought the leftovers home thinking at least our dog would enjoy it. She sniffed it and walked away. For anyone who has ever owned a dog, you understand how impressive that is. The meatloaf somehow managed to transport me back to my hospital room after my appendectomy. If you've ever wondered what institutional cafeteria food tastes like with a side of disappointment, order the meatloaf. The coleslaw appeared to be made from aging cabbage with visible brown and pink bruising throughout. To save myself a trip to urgent care, I passed on trying it. The mashed potatoes were the only thing that showed signs of life, but the gravy was so salty it could probably preserve a mummy and contained the dried skin that forms when gravy sits out too long. Even the lemon slices in our water glasses were slimy. The atmosphere felt less like a destination restaurant and more like the dining room of an assisted living facility. The average age of the patrons appeared to be somewhere around 78, which honestly started making sense once the food arrived. The hostess was very nice and our waitress was pleasant, but she seemed just as confused as we were about what was actually available on the menu. We left hungry, annoyed, and wondering how many other people had made the same pilgrimage after seeing that Instagram post. At this point, I have to question whether @laoc.eats actually eats at the places being promoted or just photographs them. This was our second disappointing restaurant recommendation from that account, and it may be the last time we use it as a dining guide. Forty minutes there. Forty minutes back. One edible side dish. I should have just stayed home and made a sandwich.

My friends and I were staying at a hotel nearby and decided to make the 15 minute walk over, and it ended up being one of the best parts of the trip. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming. The cashier was incredibly kind and patient, and even though the place was busy, everything moved quickly and smoothly. There were people studying, having conversations, relaxing with friends, and it just had that perfect coffee shop energy that makes you want to stay longer than you planned. The coffee itself was amazing. It tasted smooth, fresh, and honestly addictive without being overpowering. You could tell there was real care put into making it. Some places are overhyped, but this one actually lived up to the feeling people look for when they want a "good coffee shop experience." This is one of those places that becomes part of the memory of a trip. I would genuinely come back to SoCal just to visit this coffee shop again.
