Craving a chicken fried steak I used the Yelp search to see if there were any places I hadn't already been to. Up popped Firehouse Cafe. Who knew you could fall in love with a diner in an industrial park? Looks like they were doing a brisk lunch business so that's always a good sign. The order came and wow, that's a lot of food. Choice of hash browns or home fries. I expected home fries to have onions and peppers too, but they didn't. Next time (and there will be lots of next times) I'll opt for the hash browns, though the home fries were executed well. As to the fried steak, if you're tired of overdone breaded shoe leather or those restaurant supply hockey pucks, you'll be thrilled with the perfectly seasoned, breaded, and tender steak with yummy sausage gravy. Sound the alarm and be prepared for breakfast at Firehouse Cafe! We went for the first time on 8/19/2023 and waited about 10 minutes to sit in a booth. The service was excellent, we were seated and greeted by our server, Jennifer, who was nice enough to explain the history of the restaurant and gave us enough time to look through the menu. I ordered the french vanilla cappuccino to go with my meal. I had the chicken fried steak with 2 over easy eggs and home fries, which came with a side pancake. I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast, it was a tender piece of chicken fried steak, the gravy was creamy, and the batter had the right crunch to come together as a flavorful entree. I loved looking around the restaurant to see the firefighter memorabilia and great ambience with the diner atmosphere, a place I would love to nominate for "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives." Again, Jennifer was an excellent server and had a great smile to fill the room and make us feel welcomed, we plan to come back and enjoy more delicious food. For starters, we weren't greeted as we walked in and no one even noticed so we were just waiting for someone to seat us. Also, I ordered 1 Mocha Cappuccino and I was given not 1 but 2! Warm Chocolates!, For the food my French Toast was luke warm, and the Hashbrowns weren't even seasoned. Aside from all of that the only thing that was good was the Breakfast Quesadilla i guess. A short time later the lady returned shortly with my order which filled my plate. A while later anothther lady asked if everything was ok. I responded "Yes." Later the lady refilled my coffee. I paid my bill which was reasonable and left. If you are looking for a quiet place to have a meal, this is NOT theplace to go. IT IS BUSY. Great breakfast spot!!! I've driven by firehouse cafe numerous times, but never got the chance to try it. Finally made it (they close at 2pm) and it wasn't too busy on a Saturday around noon. The staff were very nice, seated us right away and took our drink orders. They were very attentive and were often filling up our coffees and waters. They have a pretty extensive menu with breakfast and lunch options. Upon looking at the menu, my eyes went straight to the country Benedict - eggs benny but on a biscuit with a sausage patty and gravy on top. Amazing!!! The prices are really reasonable, too, for how expensive everything is right now. My country Benedict was $13 and it was very filling. For $13.50 you can country fried steak with eggs, comes with hash browns or home fries and another side! We got it with the pancake, which was massive (and delicious). We even asked if we could put chili on top of the hash browns, which they were happy to do, and the chili add on was only an additional $3. As good as the prices are, the food is even better. We tried the jalapeño poppers and breakfast burrito as well. Loved the ranch that came with the poppers. I will say, the waitress recommended the home fries, but I think the hash browns were better. Today I introduced a couple friends to Firehouse Cafe. Both of them used to work in the area, but never seen or heard of this restaurant. Upon entering, we were instantly greeted and welcomed in by Lori. She's full of life and energy, so my friends were really delighted to feel appreciated for stopping by. The menu is packed full of goodness, so Lori was patient with them as they reviewed the menu. Eventually, they just ended up asking for my suggestions. Each of us wanted our order to be "customized" to our tastes, so Lori had to work that pen to the max on her tablet. In the end, she had all of our orders PERFECT! As a bonus, each of the ladies that work here have their favorite items on the menu, once again customized. Here's Lori's favorite dish: Veggie sandwich on squaw bread with langoustine sausage with onion rings well done. You should see the smile on her face when describing her sandwich. Even with all that was going on in restaurant, she greeted her regulars and knew their orders off the top of her head. Being that these individuals seemed to have a limited time for lunch, she was able to expedite things for them. When in doubt, just ask Tina, Jennifer, or Lori for their recommendations on what to order. In short, I got Tina's favorite, pastrami sandwich on a French roll with half onion rings and fries! Delicious food, incredible service, great price. They accommodated 10 of us super quickly... and we all came to eat - my group was there for a powerlifting competition and we were at the start of our day of eating. It was so good, we ordered for breakfast again the morning of our competition. They accommodated the to-go order with a box to help carry it all to our hotel. First day I had the pancakes with berries, whipped cream, side of sausage patties, scrambled eggs, and a side of hash browns. The pancakes were fluffy and the fruit and whipped cream was fresh. The hash browns were perfection - crispy on the outside soft on the inside. Second day I had bacon, a Belgium waffle, had brown and scrambled eggs. Granted this day I scarfed my food down because I had to get to warm ups and was running late, but it was all so delicious - I definitely wanted to enjoy and eat more. Had breakfast with a friend at Firehouse Cafe this morning, I haven't been there for quit a while. It still has a nice atmosphere and friendly waitress. I ordered Eggs Benedict, but was very disappointed. I was expecting a thick slice of Canadian style bacon/ham but it had two "very thin" sliced pieces of ham with a unusual flavor? The hash browns were crispy but barely warm. Also could have used a bit more Hollandaise sauce. This use to be our best breakfast place but quality is not the same now. Wow... what a terrible experience! I was so excited to bring my two friends to this wonderful locals place to eat! The food is outstanding! The service today was beyond horrible. We sat down and the server who had no name tag and didn't introduce herself (dark hair short pony tail not not gal with the longer pony tail) did not introduce herself, was short with words, wanted us to order asap and seemed annoyed that we were even there. The food order took a long time which was not problem but she NEVER checked in on us to say that it was taking longer than usual. When she finally delivered our meal she said nothing, absolutely nothing she just place the plates on the table. She just barked orders to people saying how many people in your party? Take a seat! She even threw silverware wrapped in napkins on the table before she sat people. This server has No IDEA how to deal with the public unless it's a local that she serves on a regular basis. When she delivered our check... again she said nothing and no eye contact. The check was hand written and obscure. It did not detail the order it ONLY had the total amount of the bill. When we asked her about the detail she only said what the total was with an attitude. Who pays a bill without the details of their food order? She talked a lot to the people who she knew or the locals she sees often but completely ignored us. I was embarrassed as I recommend this place to my friends. NEVER coming back! read more

Hidden gem. I would have never found this place if it wasn't for Yelp. It's located in an industrial area, so, it looks like an office space and not a restaurant. I'm always looking for new breakfast joints in the area. I love family owned business's. We decided to give this place a try. We were greeted right away. Gina (which I think was her name since I had overhead a customer call out to her) was at our table within a minute of us sitting. I ordered the Louisiana Sausage with scrambled eggs and fruit. My partner ordered the Turkey Sausage with scrambled eggs and tomatoe slices. We both enjoyed our meals. We felt the eggs were cooked just right. Now under or over cooked. Believe me, some folks just can't get it right. I really liked that they added banana to the fruit bowl. Gina and the man behind the counter did an excellent job serving us. Food has always tasted good and fresh when my husband and I dine here. However , the service is always terrible but today was the worst. We came in on a Monday during the middle of the day and it was not busy at all. We were never asked how everything was going, we had to get up and ask for more coffee, and then get up again to ask for a box and then the check. After reading other reviews I'm convinced they're racist here. Basically if you're not white don't expect the best service . It was obvious all the other tables were being attended to except us. I'm not sure of others standards when it comes to cleanliness. Unfortunately, the establishment isn't clean, from the walls, to chairs, utensils, bathroom and too many to list. You can tell it's patched up just for business but not maintained. The servers are a little frazzled and possibly over worked. They continue to smile as they work hard to keep up. When we were waiting for our food I noticed the owner take out spinach from the fridge and place it on the floor. I'm not certain how the establishment has a four star rating. Pay attention to the low amount of ratings. I made the mistake in assuming it was a new establishment. I haven't tried the food but can't decide if I should give it a chance or cancel my order. This is our favorite local place to have breakfast! They have a wide variety of healthy options including turkey sausage and bacon. My favorite is the quinoa breakfast bowel modified complete with eggs, turkey sausage, spinach, peppers mushrooms, and avocado. If your on for it, cheese and potato are also included. This is a very cute place, decorated in a fire engine red and black color scheme. Windows line two walls, which provide pleasant views of the landscaping and provide great light. The whole atmosphere is warm and engaging. The staff is friendly and quite attentive. They all seem to enjoy being there. The menu has a nice variety of choices for both breakfast and lunch. They are not open for dinner. We ordered chicken noodle soup. Generous portions of chicken, with celery, onions and carrots in a tasty broth.
