I stopped by Fire Pit, Rotisserie & Grill in Hanover, PA while traveling through on my East Coast work trip for the last couple of years , and once again it was an absolute highlight. Sam, the owner, and Alexa immediately recognized me from my last visit and greeted me with such a warm, welcoming hand. It truly felt like returning to a familiar favorite. The vibe was exactly as it was when I came and it was the best. The food here is phenomenal. It never disappoints, and somehow it just seems to get better every single time. This time I got the onion rings, pita chips, margarita, pizza, and a Shawarma bowl. Despite living on the West Coast, this is still one of my absolute favorite spots to eat anywhere in the country. Fire Pit has officially become a constant stop for me whenever I'm in the area, no matter how short the trip. If you haven't tried it yet, you're missing out on something special. read more

I picked this place out when I became desperate for something to eat for dinner. First of all, they have a very wide variety of dishes, so you'd be hard-pressed to not be able to find something you'll like. I had a Classic Gyro and fries - might have been the best gyro I've ever had. The lamb was done just right and the tzatziki sauce was great. My wife ordered spaghetti and meatballs. She wasn't all that fond of her dish - mostly the marinara wasn't seasoned the way she likes it. But she did finish the whole platter. Food was great! The hummus was garlicky goodness with flash fried, seasoned pita which frankly was a brilliant way to present this. My S.O. had the pork tenderloin kabobs that was flavorful and tender. I had the kafta and the chicken kabab..although the kafta was not really a traditional kabob..both were tasty and moist and tender! The young lady who waited on us was friendly and attentive. 3rd Trip - 1/8/2026 Took my daughter and granddaughter to FR&G to experience some Mediterranean last night. Marvelous Marley seated us and had our drinks out in 2 minutes. We started out with the spinach artichoke dip appetizer which was really chunky (with fresh artichokes), had lots of spinach and was really flavorful. Absolutely kickin'! Then we shared a Greek salad, a bowl of their chili (weird but it looked delicious on the menu and as a former judge for the 57th Annual Terlingua International Chili Championship Cook-off, I love chili so I tried it), a cheese pizza and the three skewers (beef, pork n chicken) on a bed of rice. Everything was simply delectable. Such robust flavors in all the meats (although the chicken was a bit tough). Forgot to leave room for dessert AGAIN which Marley promised to remedy next time by bringing it out first! :) If you haven't tried it, you're really missing out on enjoying some truly authentic Mediterranean cuisine! I recently dined at the Firepit and had Alexa as my server. When she approached my table she had an irritated tone. We asked for extra napkins and she only brought three, she was very stingy. She was on her phone the majority of the time behind the counter. It took forever for her to bring us our food after it was called. The salads looked very sloppy and the plate looked unfilled. She isn't the type of person I'd recommend to be working in such a social environment. She was not nice and not a good server. read more

Came by the Firepit by chance and had a really nice lunch. If you're looking for a good dip and bread, highly recommend the hummus. It is one of the best my husband and I have had. Overall the food was great! Steak/chicken kabob's had great flavor, the roasted vegetables, house dressing, and pita bread were all very good too. Surprisingly the onion rings were great. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the rice pilaf, it was a little bland. Server was very nice and on top of everything. Food came out quickly, it was a quiet Saturday afternoon. First time there. We'd been craving some middle eastern food and saw they had gyros and kabobs. It was empty and quiet which was nice. The kabobs were delicious. Quality of pizza is poor. Quality of all food in general is subpar. For the price, food here is definitely not worth it. I've given them a couple chances and I'm left utterly disappointed. I ordered mushrooms on my pizza; they definitely came from a can. When I called to ask if they used fresh mushrooms they said yes, and I was so excited, yet here I sit with gross, soggy mushrooms that have clearly sat in a can full of salty water for years. Is this a joke?! It was the worst bite of pizza I ever had. I felt cheated. The pepperoni tasted decent but the appearence of the cheese separating made me realize it's not good quality cheese, and the crust was tasteless. I rather get a oven ready pizza at Aldi's, a local supermarket. I've had a gyro here with fries. While somewhat tasty, albeit because I was too hungry to complain, the price was high for the amount of food and quality. I also tried a dessert here - baklava (a Mediterranean dessert made with pistachio, Phyllis dough, and honey). It tasted like they added more syrup/white sugar and less honey. A method commonly used to cut down costs and decrease the value of food. I've had better gyros, pizza, fries, and baklava elsewhere. I've concluded that the quality of ingredients is inferior, it's probably all saturated with cheap, bad fats and very little nutrition. You will definitely gain weight eating here. I really wanted to like this place because the owners were very nice people but I have to say that I think they are more concerned about profit than bringing good quality food to this neighborhood. They once told me they had very authentic food but had to modify some things to satisfy the popular palate. I'm taking a stand to say this food isn't good enough for me. Fantastic food and service. I definitely recommend the hummus to start with. Has a homemade feel and all the food is fresh. We went in for lunch and the owner himself greeted us, he had his flour covered apron on because he's also a chef. The Mediterranean inspiration comes from him and you can taste the passion in every bite. I had the Beef Shawarma, I would have shared a picture of it, but it was gone in seconds. Absolutely delicious. The secret was the homemade Tahini sauce: it really brought out the flavor of the beef and vegetables. I was with my family and we shared some of our food. There was a chicken and steak kabob where the chicken was literally grilled nuggets of chicken breast and was so good. I would never have found this place if it wasn't recommended to me by my parents and now I want to do the same for anyone reading this. I don't know how many days ago our order was prepared but the watery sauces, freezer bag meatballs and half-filled dolmas were all shockingly overpriced, considering the quality. We might have realized what we were in for from the multiple menu items that were unavailable and had been for some time. Dinner went from bad to weird when the meatballs for my spaghetti arrived minutes after the rest of the dish. This place is a diamond in the rough. The location isn't the best but the inside is very roomy. It's a great place for friends to meet and chat while getting a meal. The waitress is family and explained all the different foods that we didn't understand. We all got a meal we enjoyed without breaking the bank. Our waitress did check back but never offered refills on water or soda. This is a particularly frustrating pet peeve of mine. Especially if you want to hang out and chat with each other. You get thirsty and the check is paid and the waitress is gone. But otherwise I would highly recommend this place. read more

They have other things on the menu which look good, but we crave the Lebanese food like Hummus and kebab dinners. Kids have gotten burgers, and those look good too. We've had great service, and the owner was out to check on diners and chat. We left stuffed because it's hard to stop from eating such great food. The food. We ordered the pizza well done and it definitely was not. Had five kids at the table and no one enjoyed it. They stated the pizza was too thick and too much cheese; it resembled school cafeteria pizza. The shrimp Alfredo was soupy, under seasoned, and loaded with jarred oregano: a definite fail. The spaghetti and meatballs were so-so but for the price I could have opened a jar at home and fed our party of 7. The garlic bread is probably the worst we've ever had and it was significantly wet and soggy. The chicken gyro was edible but nothing to write home about. The only thing everyone ate were the mozzarella sticks (high-five for getting deep fried cheese correct). The experience. We went on Friday 11/11 and seated by 615. Food did not come until 7:40p. No waitress returned this entire time. I had to get up to ask a waitress for refills and asked about food at 7:30. We were informed it was coming out but they were waiting on the pizza, so we asked for whatever was ready to come out as the five kids we had were restless. 5 minutes later the food started to come out. An additional 5 minutes beyond this the pizza and mozzarella sticks were delivered. The waitress already came back and apologized for the wait and we were good with that. However, the owner came around to apologize for the wait as well stating that there are only two people in the kitchen. Sigh...so at this point I don't care about your own limitations so we acknowledged it and stated that it would have been helpful if anyone would have informed us that we were going to wait over an hour for our order before we were seated. She became defensive and stated that we were told. (It's ok that that she is delusional but it would be helpful if they learned to manage tables and times by informing customers of a wait time or sitting a limited amount of tables due to their staffing needs). For what it's worth; we definitely should have left but regardless, we won't be back. read more

My first time eating here. The owner and his wife both greeted me. They are very friendly and do everything they can to make your meal enjoyable. I had the chicken kabob's over a bed of rice. It was delicious the chicken was done perfectly. I had heard that their onion ring were the best so of course I had to order some. WOW I could have had them for a meal. It was the largest order I ever got. They are made fresh when you order them. They are outstanding! They have fresh made hummus served with flash fried pita chips.
