Honestly.... Just go to subway. I got the Italian sub... makes subway look like it's a fancy 5 star restaurant. Not only was I disappointed in the sub, the Mac & cheese is cringe worthy. Not even at the sight, but the taste. It tastes like Alfredo sauce with hard uncooked shells. At the very least, please make sure the pasta isn't al dente and a sprinkle of anything would go a long way. Aside from that, the workers are nice.. which is why I added an extra star. Would I recommend this place? If you're starving, sure. Edit** when I got home, I ate the rest of my sandwich, which for the life of me.. I couldn't figure out what ingredient in it was just not doing it for me... I dissected the entire sandwich and found that whatever sweet ham was in there, just HAD TO GO. After removing it, it was actually pretty decent. So much, that I upped a star, and will actually return if I'm ever in the mood for a sub. I'll just be removing whatever sweet ham that was. Either way, PLEASE PLEASE do something about the Mac and cheese. On paper it sounds delicious. Unfortunately, I didn't get to eat the paper which in this case.. it probably would have tasted better.

upon checking out, my combo + a brownie came out to 26$. my mom made a joke about being able to buy a whole turkey with the price, the audience (me and the cashier) laughed ! i had asked for extra turkey bc i was starving. small mistake. i'm pretty sure because of this joke, they basically gave me 2 LBS OF TURKEY!!!! LMAO whether it was the joke or not, def do NOT recommend asking for extra meat as they go VERY heavy with it LMAO

Tried out the delivery that's set up through grubhub and was very happy with it. Was easy and the delivery guy even got here early. Now for the food... YYYUUUUUMMMMMSSSSS!!!!!! Ordered the New York Steamer, double meat, with bacon(because everything is better with bacon), **slaps sandwich** this bad boy can fit so much meat in it, thats what she said... Sandwich was so good and can't go wrong with Kettle BBQ chips and a coke. Yelp/Grubhub delivery service A+++, Firehouse subs A++++. Why are you still reading?!?! ORDER IT NOW!

There's a funny backstory as to how I came about this place and why it took me so long to review. The first time I ever visited Firehouse was a faint and distant memory featuring a sub which I *think* tasted lackluster and strange to me. It might have been an off day or whatever. I couldn't even tell you what type of sub I ordered that day. At any rate, I decided to let some time pass and give the place another try. I mean, how couldn't I?? They have a freakin' 4 and a half star rating for f*cks sake!! Like with many other sandwich shops, I decided to try two different sandwiches on two separate visits to get a proper assessment. First was the tuna: I modified the ingredients on this one a bit because they actually put deli mustard on there's. One question...WHY?! Who the eff puts mustard on their tuna? Wait...ya know what? Don't answer that. I'm sure there's like a super secret society of weirdos who prefer mustard to mayo on their tuna. And honestly, I've seen stranger things happen. Overall, the tuna was pretty damn good. I was surprised! SO many sandwich shops get this wrong and I don't understand why. It's as if the concept of mixing tuna with mayo and veggies is far beyond comprehension. But Firehouse managed to not let me down. So they get a gold star. Next was the steak and cheese: I had mixed pre-reservations about this because of the condiments included. They include mayo and deli mustard on theirs, which I figured...*could* work...as long as you treated it like a typical burger at a fast food joint. See, ordinarily, I don't prefer any condiments at all on my cheesesteak. That's because a traditional philly doesn't have any; just steak with cheese wiz, mushrooms, onions, and peppers. Figuring this was an in-house thing, I opted not to exclude the condiments but still nixed the peppers. Holy hot damn was this thing good! Was it the best cheesesteak I've ever had? Not hardly. But it was satisfying for what it was. The bread was fresh and crispy the way it should be and the condiments actually didn't take away from the natural steak flavors at all. Only minor complaints I have are that the mushrooms felt like they could have been sauteed a lot longer and the shaved steak tasted slightly cheap and chewy....almost as if they used steak-ums. But this works as a frugal guilty pleasure in the namesake of cheesesteaks. I dare even go as far as to say they're better than Brown Bag....but not quite as memorable as Which Wich or Jersey Mike's. And that's how I would rate Firehouse overall. Since, in El Paso, there aren't many (in my opinion) great choices for sandwich shops. Most of the places I love most are out of state. So you pretty much have: this place, Brown Bag, Which Wich, Jimmy John's, Subway, and Charley's. And I'd rate Firehouse somewhere around #2 or #3. But I need to order another sandwich from here before deciding for sure. For now, I'm gonna give Firehouse 4 savory cheesesteaks blended cleverly with deli mustard and mayo out of 5.

I have NEVER in my life, loved a sub sandwich as much as I loved my very first sub from Firehouse Subs. Before my delicious encounter with FS, I always thought my best options for a quick sub was Subway. I was such a silly lass back then. Subway has nothing on Firehouse Subs, NOTHING I TELL YA! I devoured a NY Sweeper sub on wheat in all it's cheesy, mustardy goodness. This sub was better than anything I've concocted at home on my own. I think I was so used to eating subs with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and all those other veggies that I had actually tricked myself into believing anything I had before FS was actually good. Such a fool! FS doesn't add unnecessary toppings and loads up the delicious meats and melted cheeses. So damn good! I also love the whole flow of FS. As soon as you walk in they yell out "Welcome to Firehouse Subs" in unison. After you order you can just take a seat and they'll bring your food over to you. And if you're the kind of person that loves to load up your sandwich with sauces and whatnot, FS has a huge selection of sauces right at the counter. The house sauces are on point and you can buy them as well. And one thing that I've only seen at an El Taco Tote that FS also has is the amazing Coca Cola drink station. It has an assortment of different sodas and waters available that you can also get with additional flavors like vanilla Coke, cherry water, peach Fanta and so many more. And the thing is touch screen...it makes you feel like you're inside a restaurant from the future.

I wish I could give your location NO STARS!! This place is horrible!!! I placed an online order at The Fountains of Farrah location for pick up today at 12:35. Got to the location 5 minutes after just in case. The two men working there did not acknowledge anyone there. It's took 30 minutes before I was even acknowledged at the cash register even though they kept passing by. Then they proceeded to tell me " We're our of lettuce" Are you kidding me ??? Why was I not informed of this, what's the point of asking for your # online. Re-train your staff they are in desperate need of it !!!!

I'm not very familiar with Firehouse, having been to one only once prior to the El Paso opening, so I didn't really have expectations or favorites going into this one. Generally, I'm always in favor of new sandwich chains moving here, which hopefully will eventually lead to EP finally getting a Jimmy John's. The hot subs taste very good, and are pretty big & satisfying, which is awesome! I particularly enjoy that the subs are hot but not toasted, which I prefer. I'm still working my way through the menu, but the Italian and Meatball are early favorites. The New York Steamer is okay, but its not quite a Reuben, and when I was eating it, all I could think of was eating a Reuben. I'm a big fan of the freestyle coke machine, and they have one, but if you're like me, you will be immediately drawn to the Cherry Limeade, and it is a BIG letdown. It just plain tastes bad, maybe the machine was acting up that day or something, I don't know. I'd normally not hold that against them, but it is the one drink that is actually made by them. There are a couple of other things you should be aware of, the first is that even though a lot of reviews have decided to compare it to Subway, which I think it's unfair because it is more expensive than Subway, the prices are closer to Potbelly's (about $10-$12/person), so I do believe Potbelly (which is also great) to be the more accurate comparison. The second thing you should know, is that the location is HORRIBLY INCONVENIENT, since getting to the upper-middle of The Fountains and out is a total pain in the a$$, and given the lunch crowd, you'll be hard pressed for time if you only have a 1 hour lunch; consider ordering online. Bottom line is, the subs are pretty damn tasty, and that's what matters.

OMG so good! Bread, meat, cheese and mustard were all so good! Definitely will return to this place. I also love that two firemen started the business, so that's super cool! The website also gives you an interactive menu to calculate calories. Very cool. They ask when ordering if you want double meat or cheese and let me tell you, no double meat needed! It's stacked! So good! Customer service is also on point. Friendly and fast. Everyone smiles the whole time. I had forgotten what it was like to have good customer service. Lastly, the cola machine is fun! I first saw one of these in universal studios hollywood, the fruit water is so good!! Love this place for sure. read more

moved here from west texas years ago, never had firehouse subs before, I really like the sandwiches, been a fan since. There have been times when the crew is a little slow, takes longer than usual to get my order but for the most part is good. Much better than Subway and Jason's Deli, can't compare to Jersey Mike's because it's a different type of sandwich. They give you a survey on your receipt and if completed you get a free drink which is a good deal when you buy a sandwich you don't pay for the drink. I love that they have different sauces at every store, I've tried several ones and already have my favorites. Kids also eat free on Tuesday night. read more

The flavor is awesome. The place feels a little cramped, but it's not a deterrent. The only complaint I have is that they skimp on the meat. These are some really skinny subs, that while they taste great, are not that filling. They messed up my order and tried to say that it was I that chose wheat bread....which is impossible because I'm allergic to wheat bread...they took a long time to remake it and didn't even offer an apology. read more

It wasn't the greatest sub or the worst but the quality is superior to other similarly themed establishments. The price is a bit on the higher side but I might give them another shot. read more

Friendly staff and great sandwiches. I asked the cashier which sandwich is good and he recommended the turkey cranberry. It was really delicious and I also got a cup of chili. The chili was perfect. If want to try something other than subway then try this place. The prices are aldo reasonable. read more

This place was recommended to us. Definitely was a good sub and they had about 50 different hot sauces that you could put on it which was kinda neat. It wasn't the best sub I've ever had, which is what was said when it was recommended, but I would definitely go back again for another sandwich. read more

I had the New York Steamer with extra meat, in a combo (chips&soft drink). This is supposed to be a mix of corned beef and pastrami. Well, it only had one kind of meat and it might have been corned beef because it sure wasn't pastrami. The meat was that weird fake deli meat that might be corned beef or maybe ham or possible really thinly sliced bologna. I'm glad I ordered the double meat because there sure wasn't much to the sandwich. It was supposed to have deli mustard on it (I turned down the mayo) but if there was any mustard at all it was well hidden. There was something wrong with their drink machine or they really turned down the syrup setting because my drink was barely flavored soda water I think that it was the first day for the girl taking the order because she really didn't seem like she knew what was going on.The potato chips were okay though. read more

Subs are way better than Subway and a lot more filling than Potbellies. A lot of different subs to choose from and a good kids menu. Salads, chili and a few desserts round out their menu as well. It can get crowded so be prepared to look for seating during peak hours. read more

I eat here all the time. I have to say I'm addicted. The service is great. They always smile and greet you at the door. The food is incredible. I have had most of the sandwiches from here. I have tried both hot and low calorie options. All of them have been great. Subway can't even come close. Charlie's cant compare. You wont regret going here...delicious! ! read more

Established in 1994.

Growing up in a family that is both entrepreneurial and built on more than 200 years of firefighting heritage, it seems we were destined to start Firehouse Subs. Of course we tried other things along the way to our American dream, but everything we experienced on our path led us to Firehouse Subs. Over 20 years after opening the first restaurant, with over 1,100 Firehouse Subs restaurants, we're convinced we're doing a few things right. Turns out, people absolutely love the same things we do - the best meats, cheeses, and toppings we can find. People come back again and again to Firehouse Subs because, unlike other sub places, we steam our premium hand-sliced meats and cheeses, releasing a rush of flavors, then stuff a serving that's way over code on one of our toasted private recipe sub rolls. My wife ordered the white widow which is a chicken sammich with i don't know what on it but she said it was delicious as I didn't get a bite and I ordered the Barry White with jalapeño au jus and jalapeño cream cheese. My Sammich was so good and once I fished all the sliced jalapeños from the au-jus and placed them in my sammich, that was the ultimate bite. Their lemon blueberry cookie was so good as was their chocolate rice Crispi treat. We will be back but we both highly recommend this place

After free parking in the garage close to La Madeline, my much better half & I (gimp)walked to this fine eatery. It was so clean inside, with bright/legible menus posted above the counter as well smaller/personal sheets available at the registers. The wait staff were all eager and ready to assist, in addition to maintaining the impeccable restaurant cleanliness. I enjoyed the nutty mixed up salad; my wife enjoyed a salmon sandwich (not on the menu but available because she asked for it) that included the sumptuous salad bar & chips. I did think about ordering a soup--it was a bit brisk outside, but inside the atmosphere is extremely pleasant. In fact, we decided to sit at one of the tables, and placed a locator number on the edge, definitely guaranteeing the cooked items were fresh! One thing caught my eye on the Northeast edge opposite the salad bar: FREE ice cream (vanilla/chocolate/swirl) on a small sugar cone. How could I resist?! This was the first time I'd ever eaten here, but it for sure won't be the last! Jason's Delivery certainly has my coveted "¡Wheel of Approval!" I was very impressed with everything, from entrance/ease of ordering & paying (all major credit cards/cash)/cleanliness/affability of staff. ¡I'll definitely return!

I had just come down from a Tom Lea gallery event upstairs and the restaurant was packed. I figured it was a long shot, but they still found a way to seat me. Service stayed friendly even with the rush, which I always notice. The burger was easily one of the best I've had in El Paso. Clearly handcrafted, cooked right, super juicy, really flavorful. What impressed me most was the bun actually held everything together instead of falling apart halfway through like most gourmet burgers do. At about $20, it felt justified. One thing worth noting, especially if you're into spirits: they have one of the largest tequila and mezcal collections around. Definitely a destination spot if that's your thing. I tried their carajillo but found out they add Baileys, which made it sweeter than I usually prefer. Not bad at all, just more dessert-leaning than my taste. Live music from Jordan Taylor was happening that night too, which made the whole atmosphere feel elevated without being stuffy. Because that first visit stuck with me, I went back recently to try their lunch special with a friend. For $26 you get an appetizer, entrée, sides, guacamole, tostadas, and dessert. It's honestly a great way to try a range of dishes without committing to just one plate. Funny enough, it doesn't look like a huge amount of food at first... but we were completely stuffed by the end, so kudos to them for balancing portions well while still giving variety. Standouts: * The octopus cocktail appetizer was excellent. Bright, fresh, good texture. * Carne asada was cooked exactly right. Tender but still had bite like a proper steak. * Mushroom components in several dishes were surprisingly flavorful. * Desserts were a highlight. The arroz con leche arancini especially. Crispy outside, creamy inside, not overly sweet. Very well done. Some things were more middle-of-the-road: * Salmon dish leaned bland, lots of texture but not much flavor. * Guacamole tasted a bit acidic. * Goat cheese in the enchiladas was subtle to the point of disappearing. * Corn and mashed potatoes were fine but nothing memorable. Timing was reasonable. Food came out in about 20 minutes, but with a full meal you'll want to plan roughly an hour to an hour and a half total if you're not rushing. One practical perk: they validate parking at the Plaza garage next door, which downtown absolutely needs more of. Overall, beautiful space, solid service, some really strong dishes, and a few that could use more punch. Still very much worth checking out, especially if you're downtown already or want a nicer but still relaxed lunch or dinner spot. The location on Redd is run by a bunch of kids and it shows. Kid at the register is wearing his hat backwards and drinking a soda in front of customers. Staff is EXTREMELY slow making subs. I dont think a single employee was over 18 years old. Pathetic read more
