Usually chain restaurants do not get my business because the customer service is almost ALWAYS non existent, but this time, I was pleasantly surprised! I'm pretty sure his name was Casey (or CJ); he was pleasant from the moment I walked in until he told me to have a great day when I left out. I was using a t mobile Tuesday coupon for a free sandwich and he was patient, knowledgeable (even though he admitted he was new) and when they didn't have an item an I wanted, he replaced it with something else, free of charge!! My Italian sandwich was good, nothing special, the bread was super soft even after being toasted. For the second time now we have been allowed to place an order online with a pickup time that's stated just to arrive to issues. The first time a few months ago we ordered online, arrived and they said they didn't have the ingredients for all of our sandwiches. Today once again we placed an order online just to arrive and the restaurant was closing down 30 minutes earlier and now we have to wait until the next day to get a refund. I'm not sure what's going on at this location or why they're having so many issues but this is ridiculous service. read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone! Had nothing but problems with the food and the individual standing there, a shorter black woman who said she was the owner of the company was extremely rude to the customers, but also to a new employee that was working there! I have never encountered such disrespect towards customers and to her own employee in front of the customers. read more

What In the actual F. Horrible! Dirty dirty dirty. I dare you to look out back where they are slicing the meat. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned in days. Then when they were making my sandwich it was right next to some dirty ass wet rag on the cutting board Gave me the sandwich in a box covered in greasy fingerprints and mayo. Opened it up and it look like a child made the sandwich. Meat was sliced way too thick and covered in mayo and just plain nasty. I took one bite and threw it away. Service was friendly but speed was extremely slow. Took 25 minutes after expected pick up time to receive my food. Employees didn't really seem to know what to do and several were just standing around complaining about the rush of orders. Also they were out of a lot of chips and the soda machine was not working. I placed a online order at 6:08 it gave a pick up time for 6:28. I arrived at 6:35 and was told my order was being made. Our order was finally ready at 6:45. The employees were less than enthusiastic. No greeting, no "sorry for you wait, no thanks have a good evening. Nothing, the one female worker was too busy putting ice in the soda machine to go and assist the male that was preparing our order. When we got home we realized they gave us wheat bread instead white (which was indicated on the order page) put mayo on the sandwich we did not want. Lady behind the counter complaining the whole time and mumbling stuff about how I ordered 6 sandwiches at 8:12. Came in at 8:36 for a pickup time at 8:40 and I don't even think they started. Maybe they are understaffed I don't know. Once my order was finished around 8:50 I check and they made a chicken sub instead of a grilled cheese I ordered. When I asked for the grilled cheese she said something like, "it came out different on our side." Anyways she had the other guy there make it and kept saying that they're going to close at 9:00 no matter what. Ordered some sandwiches from this company and we placed the order but they didn't have enough of what we ordered to make 5 sandwiches the company didn't call back to tell us that they are not able to complete our order and that they are out of what they needed to make our sandwiches the Uber eats called back to say the company they were not going to make our order. I have never had a worse experience with a food service in my life. Our group placed an order at 11:15am for DoorDash PICKUP which was scheduled to be ready for pickup at 12:30pm. When we arrived at 12:30pm, they had not began making our order. We ended up leaving the restaurant at 1:45pm while they told us on 3 separate times that they were almost complete with our food. If this was even remotely true on the first or second occasion they told us, our food would have been sitting out for over 1.5 hours prior to serving it to us. This restaurant has no sense of time management, urgency to serve their customer, or consideration on food spoilage violations. I would highly recommend avoiding this firehouse location. read more

Even after arriving to pick it up they continued to make food for the people who had ordered afterwards. They didn't even start the order until I arrived and inquired about the status of it. This has been our favorite local sandwich shop since the day it opened several years ago. We were there so often, we got to know the owners. If the ownership is the same, they can not be happy with the current staffing. There are never any adults in the store these days. The kids running the shop are unorganized and have no interest in customer service. We were turned away today because they were too busy to accept any additional orders. Solid joint. First of all the restaurant is very clean and orderly. The drink station was clean, that's one of my pet peeves and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the medium sized spicy meatball sub with a drink and oatmeal raisin cookie. The meatballs were large and moist and nicely seasoned. They were mildly spicy in my opinion, but I like it hot so my viewpoint might be biased. Anyway, I can't wait to try more of the menu. Did I mention the subs come with a pickle spear?! First time here last year, I ordered a sub to go. Worst decision ever. The bread was soggy and the sandwich was just horrible. I vowed never to go here again. Fast forward to yesterday, I went again. Order a sub to eat in the store. Perfection! I was greeted immediately when I walked in, the cashier was ready for me to place my order right away, I didn't feel pressured to "super size" my sub or to add the combo. The sandwiches can be ordered fully loaded with lettuce, tomato, mayo, mustard... or you can pick and choose what toppings to add. The sub was then steamed and served directly to my table with perfectly melted cheese. If you opt for the drink, there is one of those newer Coca-Cola machines that allows you to pick and choose any drink/syrup combination known to man. While I was eating, a lady stopped in to place a large order for pick up this weekend. The manager was super polite and explained the options in detail. She was even able to customize the order by having the lettuce on the side instead of the sandwiches being prepared with the lettuce on them. Mustard and mayo packets come on the side. Moral of the story: don't order the hot sub to go, eat in the store. read more

I've always enjoyed firehouse, but my most recent experience was overall quite unpleasant. I asked for a sandwich with no cheese, no mayo, and extra mushrooms. After waiting almost 20 mins I finally got my sandwich, but there was mayo on it. I returned it to them and requested a new sandwich, when I got the sandwich back it looked as if they just changed the bread and scraped off the mayo contaminated mushrooms. When I got the sandwich back again there were barely any mushrooms on it. To fix this the crew member gave me a side cup of mushrooms that were cold! In addition to this there was still mayo on parts of my sandwich. Overall it was an unsatisfying experience. read more

Yes, I know it is unorthodox to give a "lowly" sandwich shop five whole stars, but I feel the staff here deserves it. I can't remember when I have received friendlier service. All three employees working greeted everyone as they came in the door. With genuine smiles, no less. They remained courteous through the entire visit. I tried three different sandwiches; the smokehouse brisket, the turkey cranberry and the Italian. All were delicious and filling. Horrible. It took 20 minutes to get my food. I had to go to counter and ask how much longer. It was packed to go and sitting on an oven. Receipt said dine in. The blank look on the young ladies face when she asked if I would like it for here. When I asked for manager she said they never have a manager at this time. I love Florissant Firehouse Subs, I've been a regular there since they opened. I love the steak and cheese sandwich with mushrooms on wheat bread, fantastic. And the pulled pork on hawaiian bread is wonderful but they don't serve it year-round, only in the summer months. And I enjoy the incredible selection of fountain sodas. The service is always fast and friendly and they greet every customer who walks in the door with "Welcome to Firehouse Subs!". Always a fun experience to dine in and watch the big screen tv's. read more

These guys deserve a raise! Fast, efficient, and friendly service. The gentlemen delivered our food and another gentlemen took the trays away while we were chatting at the table. The New York Steamer is by far the best sub I have ever had. Very succulent corn beef brisket with a fantastic mayo and mustard. A medium sub runs $6 but is in a whole separate league from Subway and significantly worth the little bit of extra cost. Don't forget your $2 pickle bucket. These are cheaper than any hardware store bucket and come with the lid. This place is top notch and very clean. Will recommend whenever I can. read more

We've been a little hesitant to order from firehouse since it opened in Florissant but finally decided to give it a try today. We tried the Hero and Italian and both were delicious! This was our first visit to Firehouse Subs, and it was a great experience. The young man that welcomed us asked if it was our first visit, and after saying yes, he nicely explained the menu and the way the food is prepared. We ordered meatball subs and dined in at a table. The food was brought to us, and the young lady who brought it noticed we didn't have forks or knives. She quickly brought us some. We were asked if the food was okay and also had our trash picked up for us. The brownies were awesome, and the restrooms were clean. We will certainly go back to this location, and I hope all the other locations have the same type of friendly workers. That makes all the difference! read more
