    My lucky day...free sub.
    Zuri C.

Firehouse Subs has a great promotion going. Each day they select names and if it's your first name, you get a free medium sub of your choice. The other day they selected letters instead of complete names. If your first name starts with the selected letter, you get a free sub. I was one of the lucky people whose name starts with a Z. I went to claim my free sub. I chose the steak and cheese. I enjoyed it for the most part. It had too much mustard so next time I will get it without mustard. The workers were very friendly. It was a pleasant experience.

Every sandwich I've had is delicious. Can't say the same about other sub places close by. Employees always friendly. Always clean

I generally get the smokehouse beef and cheddar brisket but have tried at least six others and all are excellent.

Everything is made to order, so you're guaranteed a fresh meal. What we ordered: -Chopped Cheese (substituted mayo for garlic pepper mayo): Hot sandwich with NY strip beef, sautéed onions, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, vinaigrette, and mayo on a fresh baguette. I devoured this sandwich. It was incredible. -Adult Grilled Cheese: A hot sandwich featuring spicy bacon jam, smoked cheddar, goat cheese, Swiss, and a fried egg, all on sourdough bread. My boyfriend ordered this, and he loved it! I'm not a fan of Swiss or goat cheese, but I actually really enjoyed the bite that I had of this sandwich. While I wish this deli were closer to where I live, I will still make the trek out here to grab another sandwich. The workers here were all so friendly and caring for their customers. I look forward to coming back to try more off the menu.

Really more like a 3.5, FWIW…read more Took a lil roadtrip out to Athens with my folks on a day off last week. We wanted to try this place. Since it is in the main part of downtown, super close parking is a bit of a big ask; we parked at a public government building about two blocks down and walked over. The inside is very small and only has a couple of two-seater tables and one bench setup, but there are multiple nice metal tables outside to sit at if the weather is good. Fortunately, we lucked out in that regard, as it was a nice day. The inside of the restaurant smelled absolutely amazing, so I was excited to order. Their lunch menu mostly consists of sandwiches and burgers, with limited sides like chips, broccoli salad, soup of the day, and so on. Bottled drinks and a couple of desserts round it all out. My parents split a Philly cheese steak sandwich with pasta salad; I got a chicken cheese steak with a cup of the soup of the day (potato), and we shared a slice of strawberry pretzel salad for dessert! The employees were nice enough to bring our food out to us while we were at a metal table on the patio, so that was sweet. Food came out relatively quickly and was definitely fresh. Overall, it was fine! My favorite thing was probably the strawberry pretzel salad; I wish I'd had a little more but I should've ordered my own portion! lol. The potato soup had really nice garlicky croutons on top that I enjoyed, though I wish there'd been bigger chunks of potato in it. I liked my chicken Philly just fine though I feel like it was missing some sort of flavor somewhere. My parents felt the same about their regular Philly. Unlike me, though, my mom unfortunately got several gristley bits she had to spit out. The chicken didn't have that same problem. Overall, a pleasant enough experience though I wouldn't say our socks were knocked off, haha. I'd return and try other menu options if I come back in the future.

It was fairly full on a Tuesday for lunch so we had to sit by the front door. The menu is fairly simple and includes specialty sandwiches, salads and soups, a couple desserts and not much else. For as large as this space is, you would think they would serve more food items. Maybe their kitchen is just very small, not sure. The server indicated many of their sandwiches are steamed. I tried one of their sandwiches, the casa grande without olives, with a side (potato salad) and a homemade banana pudding. Sandwich - this is a pretty good sandwich that is moist due to the steaming and a lot of mustard and mayo. They also forgot to take off the olives though. Potato salad - their version is like a German potato salad with some skin showing and plenty of mustard as the base. The problem was it was too chunky with a chunk of potato the size of my fist. This is just too big to bite. Banana pudding - pretty good but very sweet My colleague's sandwich was decent too, but he also had a problem with some soggy bread. The service was decent as both our soft drinks were refilled promptly. Mondays amd Tuesdays are semi slow and they close at 3; however, other days are much busier with live music mostly on Fridays and occasional Saturdays.
