Made a stop to Newk's for dinner recently and I will say I need visit more often. The lunch time is very crowded but it was very calm and peaceful for dinner. It was clean and a delightful environment. I had the club wrap which was amazing! I ordered online and it was ready when arrived a few minutes later. The pasta salad was not as impressive. I will pick a different side next time. I picked up a pizza as well for my Mom which looked great but I didn't try it. One of my favorites about Newks has always been the large plastic drink cup. Always satisfied when I come. I have tried the lobster bisque with a chicken and bacon sandwich, chicken pesto sandwich with chips and a strawberry salad with spicy shrimp pizza. Food is always good and comes out in good timing. The strawberry cake is delicious as well! Parking can be annoying if during rush hour but overall great place to eat downtown. read more

I've had Newk's before and always enjoyed it. Recently, we had a long work meeting so we ordered Newk's. I got the Spicy Shrimp Pizza with cauliflower crust, which I think is my go to from now on. Thin crispy cauliflower crust that really doesn't seem like cauliflower and the personal pizza size means I can eat the whole thing. Great taste and hey, now I don't feel as guilty about the carb overload. Love the spicy shrimp plus all the other flavors. read more

Time after time, when I want a quick, reliable dinner, I always fall back on Newk's Eatery. Their staff is always very genuine and kind, and is always willing to make accommodations. In addition, I usually pay with Blazerbucks, which can sometimes be tedious; however, the staff at Newk's is always genuine and never upset over the payment. Located near the hospital, Newk's offers a comforting environment and reminds me of Jason's Deli, which was a staple in my childhood. Food here is always consistent. I recommend eating in the restaurant instead of ordering takeout. My order is usually the half-portobello veggie sandwich and tomato soup, but sometimes, when I order to-go, as I did last night, the bottom of the bread is a bit soggy, which is to be expected since it has pesto on the bottom. When I order in person, I find that the sandwiches are a bit better and less soggy, regardless of what I order. I am also a collector of Newk's cups and love that they offer a sustainable choice of reusable cups. I wish they used cardboard instead of plastic for takeout containers, but for a large chain, they still make an effort with reusable options. read more

Stopped by here for dessert recently. Guy who waited on me wasn't the friendliest. Picked up the strawberry slice from the cooler area that had the cakes and chicken salad. Told him I didn't need a bag since I was eating inside, yet found out that despite saying that, he didn't give me any utensils and I spent the next few minutes looking for them around the corner. After I didn't find them, I asked another worker who seemed as if she was bothered where were the utensils, then asked me if I was going to eat inside. I responded yes and she walked back to the counter to get one. Even if I were to take it out, can I still get a fork yall? Geesh! Just on these interactions alone make me skeptical about returning for food. The restaurant has a few onsite parking spots, but we parked in a deck since we were visiting another restaurant for food and walked down to Newks. Oh and the cake was ok. Nothing to write home about. A solid 2.5 star experience overall. read more

The food is mostly good giving an old Morrison Cafe feel. It's predictably good. The sweet tea is yummy along with the cakes. I can see they try to keep it clean but they can get busy. The workers work hard and I've never had a bad experience at the Hoover location. read more

I have had Newk's before but it was always a catered event and it left me impressed. I have wanted to visit and i finally did. I decided to go all in for the Steak "Q" Sandwich and I was happy that I did. It was really good but the boba punch was the best. It's been a while since I had Boba and the burst of flavor from the balls was entertaining. The place is easy to access with parking in the rear. Service was fast and the food was hot. I do recommend this place. It does have an open sunlight presence that adds to the environment. read more

I love being an Elite Member with Yelp. If forces me to not only try new places. It forces me to go back to places I have not gone to in years. Newk's Eatery is one such place. I fought to avoid going to Newk's do to a bad experience many years ago in T-Town. However, my wife said, "Please go to Newk's and get some Chicken Salad to go." I dearly love chicken salad so I did as I was told. I got a really large container. The price was higher than I expected. I was angry at my wife at first. Then I went home, got out some fresh bread and made a sandwich. That is really what happened and I was super happy with that Chicken Salad. It was a perfect blend of all the ingredients, and it was great. Ever just want something to be bad just so you can say, I told you so. Now, I will go back to Newk's for other items. Quality drives me. So hard to find in today's market. I don't mind paying if it is something I can't wait to eat again. Sorry Newk's, I should have returned sooner. Bravo. Decided to try this place since I worked nearby. The Q sandwich was decent, kind of had a strong eggy taste to it that I wasn't the biggest fan of but it wasn't bad. A little on the greasy side. The restaurant is fast casual, order at the front and it's delivered to your table. Most of their offerings seem to be sandwiches, soups, and pizza. Overall it was alright, decent if you're hungry and not sure what to eat. read more

Newk's for me is just an ole reliable. When I come here, which is not often, I always know what I'm getting. The food is consistently good but I do feel like they are overpriced on some of their menu items. Their salads are gigantic so you get your monies worth there! The employees I've encountered all were nice and have gone out of their way to be helpful to me. Sometimes there is a crowd depending on the time of day but I've not had an issue where it took long to get my order. Fast service, good food, decent prices, parking woes (sometimes). read more
