Stopped in for dinner the other night and couldn't decide between the chicken an philly or the club supreme. After a little debate, I went with the club supreme. The sandwich consisted of slice turkey, roast beef, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo. They have a small variety of toppings such as pickles, banana peppers, oil, vinegar, spices and another topping I couldn't identify. Got home to dig into my sandwich and it was super dry. I put it in the microwave for a little while to see if that would help...nope. I added a little more mayo and mustard to see if that would help...Nope. By now I was disappointed, but didn't want to waste the sandwich. So I looked at the roast beef, tasted it (super dry and no taste at all). Once I removed this item from the sandwich, it turned out to be just ok.... There was only one person working when I went in and she was ok at waiting on me and fixing my sandwich. I've been to about three different Jersey Mike locations in Birmingham. They all have a few similarities and a few differences. I came to this one in Vestavia this Sunday with my mom for lunch. This location is about as big as any of the others. They have about 15 tables. There were two workers at the time. The lady who made my sub was super nice. I chose a regular (which would be their medium sized) Club Sub on wheat. It's turkey, ham, provolone, applewood smoked bacon, and mayo. I also added lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, banana peppers, mustard. Delicious! The bacon was definitely the best part! At the checkout, I overheard another customer saying their cream soda was out. That would have been my drink of choice. Well, I get my drink and decide on pink lemonade. It was clear in color so I pour that out and get Sierra Mist. I've noticed at these kind of places (Firehouse Subs as well), the drink machines seem to always have problems so I had to take off a star despite great customer service and great food. Their website says a regular sub ca be for two people. Well I have definitely eaten two people's serving size my entire life so one person can easily finish a regular sub here. I haven't attempted the giant sub yet which says it can feed four. Oh well....tomorrow is a new day. read more

A sub above the rest...I don't think so. I think Subway can do better even without a spoke person. Jersey Mike's seems like a trend or fad if you will. I know Subway will be around for the ages I had a Regular Chicken Parm sub with chips and a 160z. Drink and paid a fine dining price. So one thing we really aren't short on in the Hoover, Vestavia, Birmingham area are Sandwich/sub restaurants. This Jersey Mike is located in a small strip style building in front of the Sprouts Farmers Market. First think that stands out as I walked inside was that they have considerable more space (seating) than the one located in Hoover. Several booths accompany a small bar style seating space. They also have a very small outdoor seating area (2 tables). Similar menu to the one in Hoover and I love that they also carry three sizes of sandwich. The new small sub is more than enough food when paired with a bag of chips and drink and it comes in @ almost $2 less than the regular sandwich. I went with the Classic Italian. Fresh cut meat (4 - 5 kinds) plus cheese and you can do it Mike's way (fully loaded) or add toppings to your liking. Mine I went with lettuce, onion, banana pepper, and light vinegar and oil. Really good sandwich overall. Really the only reason they don't get 5 star is they aren't my favorite sandwich place in the area, but I really don't have any complaints. The staff is friendly and does a great job constructing sandwiches from fresh ingredients. Wouldn't hesitate to return here for another sandwich in the future. read more

Ordered a sandwich online from Jersey Mike's in Vestavia today. I paid for extra meat, extra cheese, and extra pepperoni. The entire sandwich was almost $20. When I went and picked it up, it was clear that nothing extra had been added to the sandwich. There were only four pieces of pepperoni on the entire sandwich, and I did pay for extra pepperoni. When I questioned the manager about it, he took the sandwich from me, flipped it open thumb through it, and suggested that the sandwich was made correctly. When I pointed out that there were only four pieces of pepperoni on there, and I asked him how many pieces they were supposed to be, he turned his back on me, and started working, and didn't answer me. When I said something to him and ask him to turn around, he asked if I wanted him to remake the sandwich. I told him I wanted him to answer my question first. At that point, he walked over to the register and refunded my money. I don't know what his problem was, But it's his job to answer questions. They made a mistake on my sandwich and wouldn't even acknowledge it and then in front of other customers they were rude to me. After he refunded my money, a customer in the restaurant walked over to me and said that when he was at the restaurant, he used a slur to refer to me. I didn't hear that, and I don't know if that's true, but he clearly had a problem. They made a mistake on my sandwich and then tried to pretend they didn't and he got pissed because I called him out on that. I love Jersey Mike's food and I'll continue eating there, just not at that store. There are other Jersey Mike's and there are other places to get a sandwich. Social media provides a great outlet to keep people from spending their money with companies that don't seem to know how to treat their customers. read more

Let me start this review by saying that I am a Jersey Mike's fan. I hadn't had a bad experience with Jersey Mike's until now. We roll in and order, no problems there. Then I things went downhill. I look behind the counter and notice the health rating is a 76. That is ridiculous and needs to be addressed ASAP. I had already ordered so I was going to eat the food anyways. One of the employees was smoking a cigarette outside with their children (I presume) and they came inside and sat down at a table meant for customers. The whole place immediately smelled like cigs, not cool. I get my Italian sub and 50% of the meat in the sandwich is ham. Completely ruined the sandwich, I had to take some off to even make it edible. The tomatoes and lettuce were also terrible. It is obvious this franchise has management issues, or else this review would have been much better. read more

Really glad there is now a Jersey Mike's close enough to work for lunch. Minimal wait to order and food prepared right in front of you. If you order a hot sub there will be a slight wait. This is my favorite of the sub chains. There is something about watching them slice the meats and cheese that just makes it taste better. It takes me back to my grandparents store where we made sandwiches from freshly sliced meats, cheese. I stopped for dinner on a whim here. I ordered the regular philly cheese steak and a ham and cheese kids meal. The philly was so good. It was well seasoned and the cheese and meat were evenly dispersed throughout the sandwich. Every bite have the perfect amount of gooey cheese and meat. I'm not sure if it was because I got it to go but the bread was so soft from steam yet still had that toothy bite. Holy moly, I'm getting hungry thinking about it. Pickles and banana peppers on the side because that's how I roll. The ham and cheese must have been good because my daughter thanked me profusely and gave out a couple I love you's. I ended up hearing about Jersey Mike's subs by getting coupons in the mail and i decided to come here and try something different. Customer service here was outstanding one of the best places I've been to and the two guys were really helpful and patient with me as I trying to decide on what to get there are so many good choices on their menu i ended up getting the Philly cheese steak sandwich and it was so good for a regular sandwich it was not small at all which I liked. They had a deal which you can save 2 dollars off any size sandwich im definitely coming back it was just a great experience coming here a I can't wait until I come again read more

I have enjoyed eating Jersey Mikes for over 5 years now so when I moved to Vestavia and realized there was a location within a mile from my house, I was thrilled. This thrill was short lived though as I soon found out that this location is far behind the normal JM standards. I have given them plenty of chances to make this right but they have fallen short everytime. My observations for this location are: 1) they are always under staffed. If you happen to stop by during your lunch, prepare to spend your entire break waiting on a single person to make your sandwich. 2) they always seem to be out of product. Went in for a sub in a tub and they were out of tubs. Another time they were completely out of wheat bread....at lunch 3) stopped by at 8:15 pm on the way home from work to grab a sandwich and was informed that I was only able to order something from the hot menu as they had already cleaned the slicer for the night. I would understand if this happened 15 min from closing time (9:00) but almost an hour prior seems a little early. I post this with hopes that someone will make the appropriate changes so this location may operate and run like the other Jersey Mikes that do such a great job. read more

Dropped by for a sub today. I am a regular customer but I've been getting curbside for the past 2 years. Wow! So glad I went inside! Who are the guys working at this place? They were all fantastic at sandwich making and cleaning and customer service. It was the best experience I've had at any Jersey Mike's. The sub was exceptional, and exactly like I wanted it. These young men were friendly, efficient, and were handling a huge lunchtime crowd with ease and grace. I'll go out of my way to have these guys make my sub. What a great experience! read more

No matter what time of day, I can expect excepyionally slow service and frequent miscommunication amongst staff. Today was the worst service I have received yet. This location all ways seems to be under staffed. Several times there has been one person working at lunchtime. Needless to say the service is extremely slow. A couple of times a second person has came in and then promptly disappeared into the back. On my last visit it took me about 20 minutes to get my food and pay. There were two people in front of me. The girl working asked me FOUR times what kind of bread I wanted, also there was no tea out not even the containers. I asked about the tea the girl mumbled something about a truck delivery, so I guess they were out. I went to the fountain machine and half of those were out. I think I'm done with this location. We had Jersey Mike's cater a lunch for us today at Cellular Sales/Verizon and it was awesome! I've always been a fan of JM but never had them deliver before. They set everything up in our kitchen for us with sandwiches (that were delicious), chips, sweet tea, cookies and they even brought a bad of ice, plates, plastic ware and a squeeze bottle of their awesome oil mix.
