So my family has a firehouse app and enjoy ordering firehouse subs on the app, but my wife is now celiac. We have stopped ordering from firehouse and now order sandwiches from Jersey Mike's because firehouse does not give us the ability to add a gluten-free roll on their online order. I didn't expect to be wowed by my experience at Firehouse. It started with the friendliness of the staff. The cashier didn't have on a name tag , but she gave me the impression that she was in charge, the manager the lead person or something of this nature . It was her demeanor, but not in a way to make one feel inferior . I loved the way she treated the staff that were fulfilling the orders . She spoke to them with such care and respect. I hadn't been in a FH in a very long time -pre-covid . Therefore , I wasn't really sure what to expect on the menu. I knew I wanted something free of pork , beef and grease , since I don't eat the first two mentions at all. I saw the jerk turkey sub and the manager ( I think) said , " good choice ." I felt good about that . When I got it home and took the first bite . It was yummy ! The bread and everything inside taste so great . This amazing choice is listed under the local specials . Jamaican Jerk Turkey; it has smoked turkey , pepper Jack cheese sweet mustard sauce , lettuce tomato, mayonnaise and that Caribbean seasoning! Between the sweet mustard sauce , (which I've never had on a sandwich ) and the Caribbean season just seals the deal for me . Whew weeeeee ! As far as sub shops, I would say Firehouse is my favorite. They are consistently good. They consistently have millennials that do more than simply breath and waste space. They consistently deliver quality products at a reasonable price. This location is clean and busy. If you get here at the right times you'll find a table. The low review is simply due to the lack of professionalism on behalf of the manager. While I was there, the staff made a few mistakes... one customers ticket was missing and was she left sitting at the drive thru window for longer than usual... I got my sandwich before a lady who'd clearly been there for much longer than me... and apparently- a cooler was left uncleaned from the night before. Why do I- a customer- know all of this? Because the manager was literally yelling at the staff from across the restaurant. Even while I was being rung up for my purchase, she was chastising them and didn't even notice the inappropriateness of doing that in front of me. It was like the customers weren't even there (I wasn't the only one). I honestly felt bad for the employees. These are kids... clearly in high school and this is probably their first job. Lighten up and address them in private. We don't all need to hear how much disdain you have for their imperfection. Especially considering she was the adult in that situation. An 8 inch sub, plus chips, plus a large drink for between 7-8$. Sounds a little high...but the sub and drink were both huge. I could not begin to finish my Italian sub. An 8 inch sub is BIG...with about quadruple the meat as in a Subway sub. HORRIBLE customer service!! I ordered a sub only to get home and realize my sub was wrong. I called back and spoke with the MOD who advised me they would remake my sandwich when I came back ONLY if I brought the sub AND the receipt. Okay, fine because I had no intentions to eat it anyway because ONE of the things wrong with it was it was on wheat bread. I went back the next day, took the receipt and the sub. I ordered a sub and some chips (Same as the day before). The cashier said that'll be $1.71 for the chips. I said "I shouldn't have to pay for the chips. After all YOU messed up my order. She replied "We messed up your sandwich". I replied "I used my gas to come back up here (Side Note: A BMW that uses premium gas). She said I'll get my manager. A manager named Carol Diamond came to the window and said the same thing the cashier said and added "You ate the chips you ordered" (which was true! I was hungry and obviously didn't eat the sandwich because I'd given them that back). I then repeated myself about my gas. Carol then said in a very rude tone and with an attitude "Fine, I'll give you the chips! What kind do you want". I told her. She gave me the chips (NEVER apologizing) but instead she slammed the window shut in my face! If she's coached on this review and deny it. Pull the camera footage of your drive-up window for 2/2/18 @ 1:24pm. I used to eat here 3-4 times a week. I will NEVER go back and I will tell others about my experience. I am a Training Facilitator. We love Firehouse and went to the Hiram store yesterday, bought a gift card for a granddaughter and each of us ordered a sub. When the order came my wife had onions on hers, and she did request NO onions. They brought me the wrong sub and the server was very confused. Rather than just getting the correct order, he said he had to talk to his manager. I waited patiently while me wife ate her sub. AFTER my wife had finished eating, the "manager" brought me a receipt and a refund for my sub. I asked when I was going to get my sandwich and she said I had to go back to the register and reorder. Terrible customer service in Hiram and I certainly hope they are not paying this crew $15 an hour. They are in desperate need of training at this shop. At first glance, the prices overwhelmed is, but as we asked the cashier, she eased and explained our order, quenching any doubts I had. When we walked into the lobby, staff welcomed us. I ordered the Sirachi Beef combo whereas my girlfriend ordered a bacon ranch something sandwich combo. We only waited a minute or two when our order was brought to us with a smile. On Father's Day, I called this restaurant, one I frequent. We had a Father's Day coupon and could not order on-line with the coupon, so I called the store. Let the girl know we were using a coupon, and proceeded to order a large sub, with a drink and chips in order to get my husband his free medium sub for Father's Day. (I have a pic of the coupon). So we completed our order and I sent my husband on Father's Day to get his own meal to pick up and come home (I was on antibiotics and not feeling well). Upon arriving, the checkout girl said it was not valid with purchasing a large sub and drink and chips to get the free medium sub. He left, without any compromise from her. I called the restaurant later, and found out that Deanna, the mgr., had told her the checkout girl that morning that this was the policy on this coupon. That is very bad customer service, especially since there were no exclusions listed on the coupon. Terrible experience on such an important day. You no longer have my love, Firehouse. Oh, and when I called about it, I also got no good feedback about this. Basically, too bad, tough luck, not my problem. read more
