I love this place. But I placed an order online and the time ready was 12 pm. I paid for it already online. I got my food 20 minutes later and the lady stated they didn't make it because there was no name on it. It was already paid for and you knew the pickup time. I always come at off hours, but just the same, my food is made fresh, quickly, and to my liking. Staff is friendly, there's plenty of open seating, even though I typically will order my food to-go, and I never wait more than 5 minutes for my sandwich. The seating and drink area could benefit from a light cleaning every now and then. It just typically looks a little on the messy side. Aside from Firehouse, I really would only go to one or two other sub shops such as Potbelly or Jersey Mike's. But when I want a hearty sub, I always opt for the Firehouse Steak and Cheese. read more

Zero Stars We had a large order of about 35 sandwiches with chips and cookies. It was completely messed up. The shop was unable to complete delivery due to being short staffed. We were notified of this at the time of expected delivery. Upon picking up the sandwiches, they were all labeled incorrectly. When lunch was finally sorted (and none ate what they ordered). When we called the shop get some information and an apology for the disaster of a lunch, the manager informed us that the boxes being labeled with sharpies and stickers was a technical problem and not their problem. When we asked about our missing deserts, we were told, that they fulfilled the order correctly, and the manager stands by his team and the fact they claim to have completed accurately. That we were wrong. He then said "thanks for calling" and not once apologized or sympathized. The end Update We decided to reach out to corporate after our conversation with this manager, because the issues were still not addressed or resolved. Corporate got back to us quickly, and said they ASKED the owner to redo the order and was reluctant to do so. I guess corporate persuaded him to do so and he agreed. Once my review on yelp posted the following Monday, he said he didn't want to replace the order because he already was showing the bad review. He pulled the order the night before, because the review was the excuse he needed to no fulfill the order, his desire in the first place. I explained to corporate that the review was written once we received managements response and we were told "thanks for calling" and it posted 3 days after the fact that. The owner of this Firehouse Subs, still declined the opportunity to correct the epic mistake by his staff to save himself $150. Corporate can't do anything to correct this situation either. I strongly advise to not order large orders from this restaurant, as the same staff are still operating the store, and when they mess up again, corporate won't be of assistance. Unless you like wasting your time and enjoy drama, then this could be the catered lunch for you. The situation could have been correct and the review re-written. This was my first visit to this chain. I ordered a turkey ranch sandwich. While I waited, I went to choose a drink from the coke freestyle machine. I've used these before so I chose Coke and expected to be able to add a flavor. Sadly, there were no flavors available. For a small, my sandwich was huge! It looked delicious but was bland. I expected more flavor, similar to Quiznos. I noticed a sign claiming that if you show your id on your birthday you score a free sandwich! The service here was very polite. read more

My fiance and I were trying to find a restaurant for lunch last weekend to use Apple Pay with on our new phones. It told us this place was only about 15 minutes away. We figured we'd try it out. Easy to find right next to the Irving Mall, this place was surprisingly a delight! It was very easy to order the food, and even easier to pay with Apple Pay! We ordered 2 medium sandwiches- the Italian and the Meatball Parm. 1 drink and one bag of chips. This came to right under $15- not bad. We ate in and they brought the sandwiches right to us! They even took our trays when we were finished- very nice! We LOVED the Italian- minus mayo and mustard. I wish there had been more. The Meatball Parm had a little too much sauce for my taste. What I loved is that we felt satisfied afterwards and not greasy or gross. We both look forward to coming back and trying some new sandwiches. Firehouse has a hot sauce bar, with easily forty different kinds. If you're already salivating, this review is for you. What can you get at Firehouse? Some of the best corned beef around, freshly made cherry limeaide with real limes, a friendly staff and and a nice environment. Even the selection of bagged chips for your combo is great. I like this place better than Jersey Mike's, which if you've been there is saying something. Deliciousness offered here; it just might be the best chain lunch stop in the area. read more

This was my first time trying Firehouse and I ordered through Uber Eats. I was less than impressed to say the least. We had the steak and cheese and the turkey bacon ranch. The steak and cheese was tasteless and the consistency of the meat was strange. It was clearly not grilled. It was almost wet, like it came out of a bag. The onions weren't even cooked. I tried the steak and cheese from Jersey Mikes a few weeks ago and it was so much better. The turkey sub had a weird chemical taste. I don't know which ingredient it was coming from. I got hooked on the smokehouse beef and cheddar the first time I ate at a Firehouse Sub shop. I have to say their beef brisket is better than other chains who claim to specialize in slow-cooked BBQ! I was especially impressed by the service at this location during my visit today. Even though we stopped by during peak lunch hours and the place was packed, we were greeted courteously by no less than three employees, including the manager, who was doing an incredible job of delivering orders to tables and supervising the staff, and yet he still found the time to individually check with our table to make sure everything was prepared to our liking. We had placed a custom order with specific toppings, and I was very pleased that everything came prepared exactly the way we had requested, even in the midst of the rush. I've never experienced service and quality like this at a Subway or Quizno's. In my opinion, Firehouse is a cut above the rest. Their commitment to supporting firefighters and nonprofit causes is also very inspiring. The owners of the Firehouse Subs on MacArthur in Irving should be congratulated. I can't imagine that it is easy to maintain a high-quality staff at any chain restaurant, but the staff at this location are always very friendly and competent, and seem to understand the importance of those little things, like a smile and a courteous greeting, that are often lacking at other chain restaurants. read more

Really good subs! I had lunch here the other day and was surprised at how good the sub was. Firstly, when you walk in, every single kid behind the counter will yell out "Welcome to Firehouse" "Firehouse!" "Fire... house" - or some variation. That gets old REAL QUICK. I don't know what it is about these places in Texas but back in Boston this never happens. I placed my order and got my drink. They have one of them fancy Coke machines where you can make your own flavors, etc. That's awesome. What wasn't awesome was the line for the drink machine. They need two. They also yell out "Code Red" or "Code 6" all the time. That also gets really old really quick. I get the fire-house theme, but calm down. It's disturbing to eat there with all the shouting. Everything is bigger in Texas! I came here when I was in Texas for work last week. We ordered some subs and waited in a LONG line! They only had medium or large subs. Medium subs were 7 inches, so that's the one I got. It was really delicious, but I wish that they had something smaller in terms of size. Pretty quick lunch for the length of the line. read more

Some interesting combo sandwiches along with the typical The ordering process: You wait in a long line, get to the end and order and then SIT DOWN and wait. Yes - that's right - you don't have to stand there and monitor/mentor someone in the art of making your sandwich. You tell them what you want and then they bring it to you. Great hot sandwiches! I always get the Hook and Ladder on wheat and have never been disappointed. Comes with a pickle slice. The food is always fresh, and the meat is good quality. I had a craving for a hot sub yesterday while sitting at work thinking about lunch. I went online and loved that I was able to both order and pay online. The online ordering was super easy and quick. I got the hot smoked turkey sub. I went to the restaurant just a couple minutes before my pick up time I chose online and they had my sub hot and ready to go! They handed me the bag and said I was good to go. It was so quick and easy. I love that. The sub was exactly what I expected. I just regret that I didn't add pickles to the sub. i would give this a minus 1 star. Spoke with manager on Friday to place a delivery order for an 11am work meeting on Monday to have delivered by 10:30am and they completely dropped the ball. Not only did they not make the delivery time, but they lost the order completely and did not even have the consideration to contact me back. Worst customer service award of the week! read more

This is by far my favorite go to place when I am in the mood for a great sub. I love coming to this location because the service is always friendly, even when they are in a rush. I do have to say, I come here often and it is nice to see that they really care about their customers, they took the time to learn my usual order and they always greet me using my name. Seriously, I don't give 5 stars often in anything from restaurants or movies or albums, but in the crowded sub/sandwich market which includes Subway, Schlotzky's and Jimmy John's, Firehouse is perhaps the best and most underrated of them all. Well the food is always good. I personally love the Italian sandwich. However, the taste if their food goes without saying, so the review is to compliment their staff. I had a pretty complex and complicated order that was frustrating me just to order it however the woman taking my order was so patient and understanding the whole time. I was greeted and spoken to by each member on their staff and not just the typical "welcome to firehouse" but genuine greetings and conversation. Besides the excellent subs they make at Firehouse, I can't say enough about the customer service here. Every time we have come here the staff have gone out of their way to make sure we had the best meal possible. The even re-made a sandwich when my wife made a mistake and ordered a sub that contained ham. They quickly replaced it with a smile and no charge. read more

I am highly allergic to onions and in the past have had issues with places still putting them in my food because they did not truly listen to me.. the gentleman at the register was very attentive amd made certain there no onions anywhere near my food. I just ordered to go from here for my office. Sent one of my co-workers to pick it up. She came back missing a sandwich. (I had called in 3 of the sandwiches and then called back for the one that ended up missing, a few minutes later. So I can definitely see how they could miss it.) I called back, rather nasty acting, and I feel horrible now about (hangry action), might I add, to see if they could deliver it to us.(which they don't deliver). They eagerly said yes, and she was here with the sandwich within 15 minutes! All sandwiches were tasty as ever, and we will definitely order from there again- We'll just be sure to check the bag next time! These are great! Fresh baked bread, fresh sliced meat, with all the veggies and trimmings. They offer a variety of meats not offered at the traditional sub shops when you may be tired of the traditional taste. The employees are nice, and the service friendly and swift.
