I've become a frequent patron to this location over time, and honestly, despite the mixed reviews, I've never had a negative experience. There were a few times where the Freestyle Coke machine was out of my favorite soda flavor, but it happens. The dining room and restroom is consistently clean, and the staff, while often busy, are always in good spirits. That being said, on to the eats.... New York Steamer Sub: Corned Beef, Pastrami, Provolone, Italian Dressing, Deli Mustard. This is my go-to when Im not trying the latest seasonal offering. Speaking of which... French Dip: I NEED this to be on the menu full-time, and not on a limited time basis. Savory Roast Beef, Caramelized Onions, Melted Provolone and Italian Seasonings on a Toasted Garlic Roll, served with Aus Jus for dipping. Thanksgiving Turkey Sub: While its not nearly as scrumptious as the legendary Hot Bobbie (RIP Capriottis on San Jose Blvd.), its a pretty good substitute. Turkey Breast, Stuffing, Cranberry Sauce, Mayo. The downside is that this location hasn't had the "side of gravy" available, which would have really made the sandwich sing. Finally, a big thumbs up to Firehouse Subs for donating to first responders, which is always a plus added to my purchase! It's got decent sandwiches and I love their story and how they support first responders. There are lots of options for sandwiches but I'm low carb so I just eat the inside of them. I ordered the chili to add to an otherwise boring bread free sandwich ‍ but it was one of the worst cups of chili I'd ever had. My husband thought it was ok The staff were super friendly but the new kiosk made it so much more complicated and staff had to ask several questions after we placed and paid for the order. Taking humans out of the ordering process actually has made it worse. read more

Their subs are always tasty. I like the Engineer, the smokehouse beef and cheddar, New York Steamer. They all are good and they give you plenty of meat and veggies. The only thing I don't like is their prices have been steadily raising. But they do have reward points. They will get your order done quickly and they are very friendly. read more

Well I tried again. The bread was disgustingly stale and the restaurant was filthy! I told Riley my bread was stale and that I wanted a refund and he looked at the Sandwich and asked me what size it was apparently I misspoke and said large and that's what he refunded me. I literally took one bite of the sandwich and apparently he couldn't figure out what what size my sandwich was. He then began to berate me and treat me as though I was stealing from them! This location is hit or miss depending on which employees are working. During a good experience, one can expect to have orders prepared quickly by a friendly staff in a clean work environment. This is the case more often than not. However, during an off day expect to interact with a distracted staff, use an empty and untidy beverage station, and roam for a clean table. Ever time I order a large hook and ladder on wheat, all the way plus chopped pickles and extra mayonnaise and mustard on both side of the bread. Once again they failed, hardly any mayonnaise and mustard. I don't want to come home and dress my sandwich after I just paid someone else to do it. Soo.. the subs were great. Staff... sooo rude and not friendly! It was like they just allowed high school kids to just run the place. Walked up to counter and didn't even get a greeting, just a look. I put in an order through Uber Eats, and it took them over 10 min to notify me that they were sold out of an item and that I had 10 min to send a substitution... and of course I "ran out of time" and if I cancelled my order I was not only losing money but I would have nothing to eat. I haven't had an issue here and been going to this firehouse location for years. I usually don't get anything complicated, just the hook and ladder and it has always been tasty. Yes, there are a bunch of high school kids that work there but they have always been polite and got the job done (we live in an huge family community so kind of expected at this location). I think some of the negative reviews below are a bit harsh it's kind of hard to know what the right amount of sauce is to put on someone's sandwich... will definitely come back!! read more

I've been in a few times and never had a good experience. The store from a cleanliness standpoint is fine, so that's nice. The staff are friendly, but I'll never eat there because I don't want to hear "Welcome to Firehouse" shouted out every time someone else walks into the door. The sandwiches at this location are mediocre on a good day. Either my sub comes out wet from being over-steamed, or I get something that just "doesn't agree with me." Which leads me to my biggest complaint: I came in once and got my usual: the Club on a Sub. I get my sandwich back to work three minutes later, and it's wet and the bread is limp. It's not bad mind you, so I eat it and get on with my day. A bit later I start getting a wicked headache, I mean a really bad one. A bit later I am in the throws of full on food poisoning, the likes I haven't had in YEARS! I thought of the line from A League of Their Own: "I never saw a person throw-up that much!" I was so sick I had to pull over twice on my way home to avoid ruining my car. I call the next day just to talk to the manager and let them know what happened, and see if anyone else had complained about being sick. Her response was "No." dead silence, no "sorry for making you incredibly ill" no nothing. I hung up and was floored. Oh, one more thing, they have a siracha sauce they put on a sandwich there that is grotesque. read more

I'm sure the subs will be fine, I haven't even gotten home to try them yet but the customer service was absolutely ATROCIOUS. We walked and we're greeted with "welcome to firehouse", but it stopped there. The guy that took our order was uninterested & I could barely understand what he was saying. We were ignored the entire time & then when we were given our subs, I said "thank you" and the same guy just literally walked away. My mom said "thanks and have a great night" and the same response was given. Normally I'm not even the type to write negative responses, but I will not be coming back to this location. I understand having a bad day, but working in customer service you need to put that aside and at least be friendly! read more

I remember when Firehouse opened it's first store on San Jose Ave. They were really good and they were on the list of one of my employee's 6 places he would eat. Don't get me wrong they make a pretty good sub. There is just a lot more places that I would rather get my subs. They do make a better sub then some shops like subway, quizno's, and a couple of others. There are better to me. This store did something that I'm not sure that I have had before. We re building a new restaurant that most of you know right down the street. We sent the boss for lunch and they fed us. You see what they sent back with him today at lunch. We love Firehouse Subs and do think they have the best subs in town. But for this review they lose because they changed their salads and ruined them. They had a good salad before, filled with vegetables and a hard boiled egg and crackers. Well, they did away with the egg crackers and most of the vegetables. Now they chop the salad in such tiny pieces you can't even tell what you're eating. There is cheese in there, but you'll never know it. The amount of meat that goes into is about half of what it used to be. If they argue that, it has to be that it is cut up so small that you can't find it or taste it. I wish they would bring the old salad back. I have mentioned it to the manager several times but he said they rolled it out nationwide so that's that. We eat at Firehouse now far less which is sad, but we eat salads and theirs are the worst. read more

So I go to Firehouse subs and they are OUT of white subs rolls.....how does a sub shop run out of white sub rolls?? They only had wheat. I emailed their headquarters about it and heard nothing. I generally come to this place as a request on behalf of my son. I will say for simple sandwiches, Fire House Subs has a pretty good offering. This location was clean for the most part, (it was lunch so they get a little slack) very busy and somewhat noisy. They greet you with the Welcome to Firehouse yell as you enter, something personally I can do without when I walk in and if I choose to dine in I would rather not have to listen to for 10 minutes. Wife and I didn't feel like cooking a whole corned beef brisket for just the two of us, so we went to Firehouse and split a large corned beef sub. It was fine, as we expected. They do an above-average sub, IMO a step up from Subway. The staff was friendly and efficient. I do wish they had a larger selection of rolls though, like Subway and Publix. I finally returned to Firehouse after having moved out of state over 11 years ago. I was a little nervous after reading the first two reviews, but decided to press on in hopes of reclaiming some long-lost culinary nostalgia. (Side note - as I'm sitting writing this, an employee came outside to ask how our meal was and to take my tray. Point for firehouse). The sandwich (a club sandwich) was as delicious as I remembered, but it was the bread that I had missed the most. It still had the combination of just the right amount of sweetness combined with that melt-in-your mouth softness. My lovely wife got the mama's chicken salad. She's a native Californian, and has pretty high standards for salads. She loved the salad - everything was extremely fresh. It looked great and tasted even better. All in all, this firehouse did not disappoint. The service was impeccable, the staff friendly, and the food delicious. I'd happily return next time I'm in town. read more
