I love Clara's Tidbits. I've been going there for a while. The staff is always friendly and the restaurant is always clean. They have a spacious eating area as well as a spacious outdoor eating area. The outdoor eating are is covered very nicely and it provides adequate shade from the sun and it's off to the side making it a private dining experience. The food is so fresh and delicious. IMO, the deli cold cuts tastes like meat from a delicatessen. They make the chicken and potato salad in-house and it tastes that way. They have so many delicious options that I couldn't make up mind. I wanted soup and a sandwich but I didn't want to eat that much. The man behind the counter cheerful said, " get half a sandwich and soup special!" I had no idea they had that deal! 2 words. Chicken Salad. If that is what you are craving, this is your go to place. I found this place reading yelp reviews and ordered a chicken salad on a pita online. The location is in a strip mall and when you walk in there is a location for you to pick up your food. I got the Potato salad side as it was voted most popular. The next time I ordered for some reason it put my food over in the door dash type of pick up so if you do not see your food ask for it. The next time I got a chicken salad sandwich I ordered it on their marbled rye. Amazing sandwich. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The turkey spinach wrap was delicious. The only thing that turned me off was there wasn't a designated area for pick up orders waiting. I felt like I was towering over people as they eat or was constantly in the way. Everything else was great. read more

My first time at this location and was delighted to find the same high quality of food and service as the other Tidbits locations. We were leaving town, so had to get some to go. Got a total of two pounds of the BEST chicken salad I have ever found, and I have looked in FOUR states! The combo of the yummy chicken salad and Clara's seasoning just can Not be beat! Nice clean facility, good service and fresh ingredients....some thing's never change and I am so thankful! I've been hearing all about Tidbits and really wanted to try it. Very friendly staff and they were considerate of my allergy to onions. My son got a chicken salad sandwich with Potato salad and I got a turkey-avocado wrap, with a fruit cup. (It's an avocado-turkey sandwich but they put it in a nice spinach wrap for me.) the potato salad was a bit spicier than he expected, our son said, but still tasty. My wrap was perfect. Clara's is my favorite place to get lunch in Mandarin- and all my coworkers agree! The avocado pita is so delicious & filling and packed with the perfect medley of vegetables. I've also enjoyed their tuna pita. Clara's orders are always packaged wonderfully & easy to order for take out & delivery. Their made in house pita chips are tasty too. Ashley and I were heading to the Mandarin area one Saturday to do some shopping. Not always going in that direction we knew we had to stop in somewhere new for lunch. Luckily for use Ashley came across Clara's Tidbits and man I'm glad she did. We walked in and were greeted as soon as we got through the door. Just barely beating the lunch rush and ordered at the counter. I was interested in 2 different sandwiches the Rueben and the New Orleans Po'Boy. The lady behind the counter insisted on the Po'Boy and I'm so glad she did. The New Orleans Po'Boy is Top-round roast beef smothered in brown gravy topped with swiss cheese, shredded cabbage, and mayo. Served on a hoagie. For my side I went with Clara's Homemade Pita Chip. Let me tell you. This Po'Boy in amazing. I'm normally not a big fan of roast beef cause it can be stringy but this roast beef is some of if not the best I have ever had. It's unbelievably tender. It seems like the roast beef is dripped in the brown gravy and it just bring out amazing flavor. I will say the hoagie roll reminds me a bit of Cuban Bread and I enjoyed it. I only warning I will give is it can be a little on the messy side. I was also lucky enough to try Ashley Rachel Sandwich which as also great. She went with Clara's Potato Salad which was unreal. Some of the best I have ever had. Don't get sand in this Potato Salad. They also told us the they sell it in very large size so when it comes to the holidays I know what we will be bringing and don't worry Clara we will make sure to to give you the credit. Lastly when I comes to fountain drink I normally just go for the water cup since I'm not big on soda. Don't do this here. Get a drink because they have an amazing Cherry Limeade. My first trip here, although I have eaten at other Tidbits locations. The line was literally out the door, but do t worry, it moves fairly quickly. My go to is always Chicken and fruit. A healthy scoop of chicken salad, surrounded by cantaloupe, melon, grapes and more. Sides are not an option and believe me, you don't need it with the mammoth sized portion of this salad. My daughter opted for the build your own sandwich, getting exactly what she wanted on gluten free bread. She got a side of chips. Parking is easy, service is exceptional. Bright and cheery is the best way to describe the atmosphere at Clara's Tidbits on San Jose in Mandarin. The place was clean and the staff busy. But not too busy to make sure you had what you needed. We sat inside as it was hot and humid. Nice patio area and will be good for a cooler day. It was a little chilly inside as we sat near an ac vent. I ordered the Rachel, but had it put on whole wheat bread. It came with one side - potato salad for me and a dill pickle spear. I also tried the peach tea (which is part peach and part sweet tea - of course I added some unsweet tea). Others ordered the chicken salad sandwich, shrimp salad sandwich and the chicken salad with fruit plate. A normally talkative group was somewhat quiet, as we were busy eating. All said the food was delicious. The bathroom is spacious and clean. Ample toilet paper, paper towels and soap (I have decided that the quality of these products is an important indicator of the restaurants commitment to an overall good customer experience - they passed with flying colors). Went for lunch today with a friend. I had the lunch special which is 1/2 sandwich with either a soup or salad, drink, and a side for 10.99. I chose 1/2 of a pita w/ chicken salad, lettuce and tomato, broccoli cheddar soup, tea and fruit salad. I was quite busy and service was quick. You order at counter and they deliver to your table. They portions for the price were and absolute bargain. Food was delicious and fresh. Menu is quite large which includes salads, variety of sandwiches that you a built with the many choices of breads, fillings and meat/cheese. Mike and I were heading to Trader Joe's for some groceries so we of course jumped on Yelp and tried to see who could find the best place to eat the fastest and per usual I won! I stumbled upon Clara's and boy am I glad I did! We walked in and were immediately greeted with a singing hello and told were to order. The very nice person at the register help Mike and I navigate the menu. I ordered the Rachel with potato salad as my side, this was all around a big winner of a meal. Every bite of the Rachel was delicious and I could eat my weight in that potato salad. In fact we were informed you can get potato salad in bulk so I think I will be doing that for holidays this year. Portion sizes have decreased substantially and when brought to the attention of staff, they become very defensive and rude. I asked if a pickle was included and was told yes, then looked at my receipt and saw that I was charged $1.25 for a pickle. For a tiny side of cheese I was charged $2.50. So excited for this place to finally open. Clara's Tidbits has installed their 3rd location located in the Mandarin/Julington Creek area, which opened up on Monday (12/2/2019). It resides in the same unit as the old Sabra Cafe. Originally, it was quite a drive for me just to get to Clara's first location on Hendricks Ave. Then their 2nd location opened up in the Baymeadows area and I was thrilled, because it was a closer drive. Now, with the 3rd location, I can practically sleep walk to this place without even getting hit by a car. And I'm saying that with a Hallelujah...Halle Berry...Amen to you Clara, Amen!!! Clara's Tidbits is well known locally for their Chicken Salad and Potato Salad. I love getting their Chicken Salad on a Pita. Have I tried any others you may ask? The answer in No. I just have such loyalty to their Chicken Salad. As the saying goes "Once you go Chicken, you'll always go Bawk fo mo". So stop on by this cool new place. Anyone who looks at my Yelp page knows I am a BIG fan of Tidbits downtown. I've been going there for over 20 years, since I worked downtown and ever since. I love their potato salad, their salad bar, their chicken salad, etc. I was happy one was open a bit closer to where I live, so when we had to go out to do some errands during these restrictions, we decided to go and get a to-go order from Mandarin Tidbits. They do have lines on the floor, sort of, to separate people. Unfortunately no one was following the lines, nor the guidelines, and my family was the only one in line with a mask. Some of their employees had masks and others did not, which made it a bit confusing as to what rules they are following. Ordering is at the counter, and there is really not a waiting area per se, so you just kind of mingle in front of the tables. They do have every other table blocked off, so seating is spaced out a bit, and the outdoor seating is spaced, but not as far as it probably should be. Food wise - it was tops. We drove to a nearby park and had a picnic lunch. I got the salad plate, with tuna, chicken, pasta, and potato salad. It also comes with cole slaw but I subbed out for additional potato salad - never a bad choice! My kiddo had the Reuben and so did my sister. They both said it was very tasty and they really enjoyed it. All in all a good visit. Just wish I saw some consistency in what rules they are following for virus safety. read more

Dear Clara's Tidbits, I want to apologize first and foremost for not patronizing your establishments before today. I literally had no clue how happy I would be. I appreciate the simplicity of your menu and all the more, the quality of your product. I picked up a couple of things today. The Reuben, the chicken salad pita, and the tidbit special salad. All were spectacular. Fresh ingredients, decent sized portions. Flavors were all that I expected from what I wanted to taste. The gumbo? Perfect consistency and not too much or too little of any one thing. And, what the heck is in that potato salad? My sister in law who now lives in Texas raved about this potato salad. I mean, it's potato salad. But, now I understand. My only regret is that I didn't get a bigger portion. Also, thanks for putting thought and care into how your packaged my order. I could have rolled my car over and I'm sure the contents of my take-out bag would have stayed put. I will be back again soon enough. read more

I ordered the classic special which I thought was a chicken salad pita, potato salad, additional side and lemon cake for $12.99, but I didn't get the additional side.If I would have ordered these items separately it would have been $11.58.
