    pepperoni meatball sub
    Claudia K.

Finally tried a sub from a Firehouse Subs, and damn, I really wish I had tried out their food sooner :( I ordered their [LARGE PEPPERONI MEATBALL SUB] $15.99 which consists of italian meatballs, marinara, extra provolone, crispy pepperoni, and Italian seasoning on a toasted garlic bread roll! You can also choose from a bunch of additional toppings to add onto it for free such as what I added: shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, sliced onions, cucumbers, caramelized onions, chopped pickles, and black olives :D The meatballs are absolutely delicious, and very filling, honestly. I swear half a sandwich is already a meal if you ask meeee. I also like that it comes with a pickle speae as well since I'm a huge fan of pickles. Definitely going to try their other subs in the future because yummmmmmm

One of the best sub places in town! I love getting the Engineer or Hook & Ladder. The subs are filled with ingredients and everything tastes fresh. Service was quick and friendly. There is ample seating inside or you can opt for a quick take out.

It's been a couple of years since I've eaten a sub and I've been meaning to try Firehouse Subs for quite a while. After perusing their menu, all looking delicious, I settled on the New York Steamer (corned beef brisket, pastrami, melted provolone, deli mustard, mayo, and Italian dressing). I upgraded from a bag of chips to a small bowl of Chili, and finished off the meal with a Cherry Coke. The sandwich was very meaty and delicious, with all fresh condiments. The chili was pretty good, and I always enjoy Cherry Coke! It felt a little on the pricey side but delicious enough to go back!

I was never a fan of Subway or Mr Sub, but my sister and brother-in-law put me onto Firehouse Subs. I always tell myself that I'll try something else, but I can't help but get the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket Sub every time. This sandwich is PERFECTION, I've never tasted anything quite like it. The price is a bit expensive compared to other sub places but you're paying for the quality and fresh ingredients. There's a promotion going on right now where if you create an account and order on their website or use the app, you get 50% off your order after 7 pm. They have seating in the restaurant so you're able to eat there. They take care in packaging your meal so that it stays fresh and doesn't get soggy. This way you can also enjoy it in the comfort of your own house.

Quick Service | Fresh Ingredients | Large Portions I've been wanting to try Firehouse Subs for what feels like years. I'm at the age where Subway is so disappointing and unsatisfying now. I had the opportunity to stop by while I was in Markham and I do not regret it at all. Upon entry for place is large and clean. They're also so on brand with the signage, decor and even the workers uni forms. One thing I love is that the menu is large and has visuals of each sandwich. They also make ordering easy with a visual step by step system. Now let me get into the sandwich. I had the Firehouse Special Hot Sub, medium size. It was PHENOMENAL. It's what all chain sub brands should be. The bread was crusty, the meats were fresh and thinly cut, the veggies were crunchy and crisp. The ingredients and meats were not simply by any means but this is the best example of "good" not having to be fancy. You can actually taste everything. I also love that you get a pickle spear on the side. This ran me almost $15 but it was worth it in my opinion. I didn't eat for the day so I took back this Sando no problem!

I'm usually not much of a sandwich/sub fan but I'm glad that I discovered Firehouse Subs. The restaurant is founded real firemen in the States and now they are bringing their sandwiches to Canada. I ordered the Hero Sub that was on promotion and the Italian Sub. I got both of the subs "fully involved" which came with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. The sandwiches were massive as well and the large size was definitely enough for dinner for me. I was so impressed with how the sandwiches taste after the first bite. I think what makes their sandwiches so unique is because they steam the deli meats to retain the flavour and juiciness. Also, I add their special Datil Pepper Hot Sauce on my sandwich and it definitely compliments the subs really well. They also sell bottles of the hot sauce to take home too!

one of my favourite places for sub sandwiches. I always order their Italian and it never disappoints. today was the first time ordering my sub sandwich on a gluten free bun. Obviously the regulars buns are better but this wasn't bad either. It is what it is! Can't wait for another firehouse dinner out!

I am glad that this has opened in Markham. Absolutely delicious. Manager (I think she was the manager) and staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about their products. There are a lot of staff members working which helps with their speed. Everything tasted fresh and was hard to make a choice as everything looked good. They do have things around supporting fire fighters which is amazing like rounding off the bill or selling the buckets from pickles. Ended up getting the 16hr slow smoked beef brisket and cheddar. This was recommended. I got a large (12") with a broccoli cream soup. The sandwich comes with a pickle on the side. The sauce was sweet but lots of flavour. The portion of meat and cheddar is pretty generous and tastes work very well together. My wife ordered the Italian sub regular (8") this was very good. Healthy portion of meat, and you can see them slicing it on the spot so you know it's fresh. There are many items to choose from on the menu. Would love to try things like the meat ball sub. Look forward to visiting again.

I am not the type who must go to a grand opening. Opening weekend for a major movie? I'd rather wait three weeks before going. On Facebook, I noticed that Firehouse Subs was finally coming to Markham. Every time I'd hit Jersey Mike's Subs in Kitchener, I would see Firehouse Subs across the street and knew that I needed to go there someday. That day was today, but closer to home. Last week, I signed up for a free sub on its soft opening day. The catch was that you had to be on Facebook and you needed to reserve your spot. How organized! My event slot was at 1:20 pm. I got there just before that time. There was a welcome table just outside the main doors. I said my name and I was good. The nice person at this table said that donations were welcome, which were going to the local firefighter departments. You donate when you place your order. Cool! Naturally, it was a madhouse inside. There were at least a dozen staff making sandwiches and guiding both staff and customers. You get a cheer when you first walk in, welcoming you to Firehouse Subs. Okay, that made me alert for a good ten seconds. I went to the back and asked how ordering worked. All subs are steaming hot. However, if you like cold subs, this place can accommodate your request. I liked how he asked me what kinds of meat I like. I like 'em all, which is not helpful! He recommended either the Hook & Ladder, or Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket. I went with the latter. You can customize it how you like. I went with how it's made. You get a pickle on the side. I told him to hold it. If you are going today, be prepared to wait 25 to 30 minutes for your order. The woman behind me was incredibly impatient, asking one of the staff members how long she would need to wait and looking all nervous. She had ordered after I did and got her order first. I wasn't steaming up. The meats and cheese were doing that for me... haha! Seriously, I actually enjoyed chatting with customers and the nice female employee while I was waiting for my food. I chatted with a customer who was ahead of me. She was looking at potato chip bags and I asked if I should move, as my standing in front of them wasn't helping her. She laughed. I learned that another Firehouse Subs will be opening in Stouffville, where she lives. She was great as we waited for our meals. I was looking at all the steamer vessels behind the counter and asked the Firehouse Subs woman behind me how they work. Meats and cheese are steamed together, depending on your order. The water gets drained before your sub is made. Cool! She also explained that the bread is toasted, too. The woman preparing my sub almost instinctually knew that she was working on my order. She looked up and said my name as she was looking at me. She thanked me for being so patient, as she handed me my order in a paper bag. I thanked her back and wished her a great day. Staff here were working exceptionally hard when I was there. They all had gloves on and were following food-handling practices without any deviation. There was also a main food manager who was helping everyone with food preparation. There were roughly six tables. As you can imagine with today's soft opening, there weren't any tables available. Instead, I headed to my car to eat. My sub was delicious! If you want a steaming hot sub, Firehouse Subs is where it's at. My beef brisket and cheddar sub was perfect. The brisket was tender. You practically don't need to chew. The bread was toasted, chewy, and perfect. I loved the cheese, mayo, and barbeque sauce. I loved my sub and was sad when I ate it all up! My sub was just under $10 with tax if I had to pay for it. It does run on the higher side price-wise. However, it's worth it for the quality and deliciousness of a decent sub. Yum! When all the crazy hype dies down, I'll be back for more. Welcome to the neighbourhood! (406)

This fairly new sub restaurant is amongst a bunch of other food places. Walking in, you really get the firefighter themed vibe going on. They have a lot of different options that you can't find at Subway or Mr.Sub which I like a lot. Their prices are a bit more expensive than other sub places, but I think it's worth it, considering how fresh and tasty the ingredients are. I ordered a medium Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket sub. You get to add your own toppings as well (for free). I like how they have sautéed fried onions as an option. A side of pickle comes with your order as well. They have a station with different types of hot sauce and BBQ sauce on the side, which I found pretty neat. There were almost 50 different types. The staff were nice, and actually gave me a few recommendations as well. I would definitely come back and try the other subs here.

In terms subs its the best you can get in the area. The large sub is a perfect size for a big eater like myself. Tried the meatball sub and you get 8 juicy meatballs on a large sub. The bread stayed firm and didn't get all mushy like other places. Tasted amazing with theelted cheese on top and really hit the spot.

It took two people fifteen minutes to make it. - Communication to the customer on how long it would take for my order to be ready wasn't stellar. On Wednesday night, after driving home from Mississauga, I felt like a milkshake. Where should I get one? I remembered that the Boardwalk Fries Burgers Shake location in Scarborough that I had visited months ago offered milkshakes. I also remembered this Boardwalk location in Markham. It used to be South St. Burger. Markham used to have two locations. It now has zero, which is a downer. I came here at nearly 9 pm. There were lots of parking spots. I pulled into one and entered the store. The Boardwalk is a combo store with Lava Grill. There is one entrance for both eateries. I walked in. There was a couple enjoying a meal. I was the only person at the order area, which is shared between the two eateries. It took a while for the man at Boardwalk to come over. He was making burgers. I ordered these items: - Strawberry shake without whipped cream - Dubai chocolate brownie I paid with a credit card. Done. Communication is an issue here. This man continued making burgers and fries. He didn't let me know how long it would take to make my order. I wasn't in a rush, but I didn't know that it would take fifteen minutes for two folks to try and make my milkshake. I did like that the press for the burgers automatically came down on the patties and had a timer. I also watched fries go into hot oil and the basket automatically come up once the fries were done. It was also on a timer. I noticed that burger man got Lava guy to make my shake. They both went into the back. Burger man came back to assemble the burgers. Lava guy was still in the back. My guess was that there was some issue making my shake. Again, I got no communication until Lava guy came out to look at my order and told me it would be two minutes. Um, sure. I didn't believe it. I was right. I decided to sit down. Burger guy had finished making the burgers. He went outside. He came back in. His first communication to me was two fingers up in the area. Two minutes or victory?! Five minutes later, I saw a shake come out from the back. Lava guy was holding it. Lava guy took a box with a brownie and packed it in a paper bag. I got a napkin, a fork, and a spoon. He handed me a pretty strawberry shake and my paper bag. I thanked both guys, more relieved than anything, and left. I got into my car and drove home. Despite the wait and the lack of decent communication, the two items that I had were excellent. The strawberry milkshake was yummy. I loved the strawberry flavour. It was creamy and enjoyable. I had the Dubai chocolate brownie yesterday. It was so good. I loved the crispy bits with pistachio cream and a delectable, moist brownie layer. Yum! I'm thinking that ordering online and coming here to pick up my order would be best. This place seems to take its time because it seems to be on its own time. Boardwalk has happy hour deals at night. I may give it a try next time. Here's hoping that communication is better. (190)

I did a search on my Uber Eats app and found a BOGO offer on five chicken tenders at Popeyes. I could change the Popeyes location, as this offer was offered at multiple locations. I saw that this one in Markham was listed. I had never been to this location on Markham Road, between Major Mackenzie Drive and Castlemore Avenue. It was time to check it out. My order consisted of these items: - Five chicken tenders x 2 (BOGO), with sweet heat and signature dipping sauces (two each) - Mac and cheese I got an estimated time to pick up my order. I made my way over. I was heading eastbound from Richmond Hill. This eatery is located in a plaza with a bunch of stores. It's near a Subway that I've never been to. Several stores north of this eatery is a Chatime that I frequent often. I backed into a spot. I waited a few minutes, as I was early. Once I got the notification that my order was ready, I headed inside. This Popeyes was clean. It had a relaxed vibe if I were to dine in here. There was a male customer ahead of me in the lineup. He was placing an order that seemed more complicated than it should have been. The woman taking the order was patient. He repeated his order. It was more the number and types of sauces that sounded like a nightmare, but the woman got it right. He confirmed that she had everything. When it was my turn, I'm sure that my order was a breeze in comparison. I indicated that I had an Uber Eats order and rattled off my name. She nodded, confirmed that my name was there, and handed over my bag of goodies. I thanked her and walked out of the eatery. I then drove home, putting my food in an insulated bag. I had half the chicken tenders for dinner and saved the rest for the next day. The same held true with the dipping sauces. I devoured the mac and cheese. It was delicious. The cheese part was subtle, which was perfect. The chicken tenders were awesome. I have always had either fried chicken or wings. It was my first time having chicken tenders. They were huge, tender, and yummy. The tenders are white meat. I will order them more often now. As for the dipping sauces, I loved the sweet heat. The sweet part was subtle. The heat part was a slow burn at first. Once it kicked it, it worked well with the chicken tenders. I didn't like the signature sauce. It was all heat and burn. I'm not sure if it was simply hot sauce with cajun seasoning, but it wasn't yummy. I'd much rather have the sweet heat. The chicken tenders were equally as yummy the next day when I reheated them. I went with the sweet heat dipping sauce. Yes, if I could buy a bottle of it, I would. I liked coming here for chicken fingers, and mac and cheese. I'd return again when I'm in the area. (322)

My app stated that it would take fifteen minutes for my order to be ready. I was good taking my time driving northbound along Woodbine Avenue. I needed to make a left turn. I've been to this area before, with Freshii, Pizza Studio, Big Smoke Burger, and more in this plaza. I had an impatient dealer car behind me who honked while there was oncoming traffic and wanted to bypass me to make a turn. I had never seen that move before. If he wanted to get hit by oncoming traffic, be my guest, but don't do a tailspin into my car. I turned left. He gave in and followed suit. Weird. I parked away from Mary Brown's, as there was a tow truck helping out a car closer to the eatery. I realized walking over that I could have parked closer to the entrance. There were spots for pickup orders like mine. I walked in. This eatery is humungous. It was nice seeing St. John's row houses as a backdrop on the wall. I saw a cubicle area where you could pick up orders through the Mary Brown's app. There is a lot of seating and it looked clean. There was a customer ahead of me. I waited patiently before I headed up to the front. I got a nice woman. I showed her my Uber Eats order details. She nodded and grabbed my paper bag with my order. I thanked her and headed out the door. I had my food once I got home. I was excited to have dinner. My Big Mary's sandwich looked small in my hand. I do have large hands. However, this sandwich is a bit deceiving. The chicken was thick. It had a crispy exterior. It was juicy and fully cooked. I loved it. It was filling. The bun with the signature pickle slice on top was yummy. I loved this sandwich so much. I had the other one the following day. I got a large mac and cheese. It's a cold salad. I'm not sure why it has the cheese part in it. It doesn't taste cheesy at all. What's funny is that I don't mind that it isn't cheesy. I like macaroni salad and this version makes me happy. It's creamy and cold. The macaroni is cooked perfectly. I had half the mac and cheese salad during this meal. I had the rest the next day. I consumed all my waffle-cut fry poutine. The cheese curds were stretchy and the real deal. There was lots of gravy, which I love. It was salty, though. Bummer. The waffle fries were yummy. If the gravy wasn't so salty, this poutine would have been excellent. Instead, it was good and I needed a lot of beverages to quench my thirst. It was great finally visiting this eatery. I'm a fan. I need to return for more good eats. (123)

Staff is always ready to serve, with speedy service, and food is always ready in no time :) I do wish they have a better garbage can because it is very hard to throw things out without touching the garbage flap. Overall, the space is clean and well-maintained.

Little burger for takeout 3. Poutine for takeout The food was top notch. I thoroughly enjoyed the patties and their flavourful beef. There was a Maillard reaction which added to the smash burgers effect. I would say the these burgers are better than Fresh burgers which I frequently visit. But If I had to choose I would prefer to come here to five guys burgers from now on. It just had that "je me said quoi" "I don't know" better food experience. The service was also efficient. They had 3 workers working in unison. One at the cash, one on the grill and one doing fries and packaging. It worked perfectly. All in all I will definitely be back and I recommend this franchise for all your smash burger cravings.

Friendly service and simple delicious sandwiches make this place a go to…read more Ted makes really fresh, quality sandwiches. The kaiser bun is so soft, the meat is freshly sliced then stacked high, options of mustard, cheeses, lettuce and tomato. It is quite the exercise for old jaw to unhinge to its max to make way for enjoyment of his meat combos. His famous Roast Beef is cooked to a rare-medium, not well done like at the supermarket. I would have preferred a horseradish Mayo instead of the mustard, maybe you can ask if that's an option on your next visit. The Fight Club is an assortment of meats, and for $8.50 it's a great deal. Now these are not Foodie sandwiches, nothing extra unique to be discovered, it's just fresh, quality and made with a smile for you. They also sell frozen meals and soups to go. I have a heavy tray of Eggplant Parm in the freezer, will comment on that after it's gets baked. I'm ordering a sandwich platter for a potluck, he makes the traditional sliced bread, deli meat triangles or sliders from his wall menu(these are $3.50 each).

Super homey feeling and the blackboard styled menu was cool. Owner seemed nice as well. For my order I got takeout on the Friday special - Hot roast beef sandwich ($8) and a chicken samosa ($2). I think I enjoyed the sandwich a decent bit. Definitely fair priced and came with lettuce, onions, and cheese. However, the sandwich was super greasy and when we ordered, he just microwaved it lol. At least subway will put it in an oven. The samosa was pretty tasty though. Overall, I think my experience lacked a bit but maybe their cold roast beef is better (but it also wasn't available when I went). 3.5/5 stars.
