Medium sweet & spicy meatball sub (with a pickle for scale)

Came here with a friend after seeing a picture of their meatball sub on my Yelp feed. Publix is usually my go-to for subs but their meatball subs are just not that impressive. My friend being a FL native couldn't believe that I was so excited to try the subs here at this chain. My order: Sweet & spicy meatball sub General impression: I thought the wait for a sub at Publix was bad. My friend and I came around 2 PM and the place was fairly empty. However, it still took a good 10-15 minutes for our meatball sub to come out. I would hate to imagine what the wait is like during the lunch rush. The sub: Worth the wait! The meatballs were hearty and still steaming hot. The bread was crispy with the right thickness. The melted provolone cheese was gooey perfection and the sweetness of the marinara was balanced by the heat of the crushed red peppers. The pickle: Who hates pickles? A nice bonus. Overall: Best meatball sub I've ever had. Even better than the meatball subs I used to get during undergrad at B-cafe. Oh, the nostalgia! Wait times could be improved though.

I decided to stop in at Firehouse Subs after my usual long day at work. The Miami Lakes location is brand new and I love trying places that are brand new (CLEAN!). The interior of the place is very cute. There are some fireman uniforms and the tables are all Dalmation print. There are two TV's inside with the news and sports on and the place is pretty airy. There is a huge selection of hot sauce for those of you that like spicy food. The price of a combo meal is $8 dollars, which is above Subway and Quiznos, but I think this place is better than both of those chains. I had the Hook and Ladder which is turkey and honey ham with melted provolone. I added mayo, mustard and lettuce. This particular sandwich is served warm and you can have a pickle if you like. There is a medium size sandwich option (8") or large (12"/footlong). I loved it. It was warm, super fresh and hit the spot. There are chips, cookies and brownies if you want a salty or sweet fix with your sandwich. Firehouse Subs also has their own chili, a chef's salad, cold subs (tuna salad and white chicken salad) and a kid's menu. You can order your sub ahead of time online and go pick it up in 30 minutes. I have yet to try that but I plan on returning to Firehouse Subs. It really was delicious! Another cool thing about this place is that the cups feature the stories of firefighters that have done heroic deeds. This place was literally founded by firemen and they really make it a point to support their own. As someone with a fireman in the family I think this is a great concept and a cute little place. They have restaurants throughout South Florida so check the website for the location nearest you. I don't think you'll be disappointed, I know I wasn't.

Just waited an 1 hour later, I was finally able to get my lunch. Lunch time staff is very unmotivated. Very slow workers with very little desire to be there. & good luck trying to talk to anyone about a status, completely get ignored. I most Definitely will not be coming back for lunch. They definitely need new employees with a desire to work in a FAST PACED job!

I absolutely love this place. When you walk in you are greeted by the friendly employees who make you feel like they actually care. Everything is clean and orderly with great firefighter decor. They even have firefighter hats for children and a real uniform you can try on and take pictures in. The subs are made to order and they have a lot of variety with many different options for customization. Once your food is ready the employees bring it to your table. My favorite part is their unique cherry lemonade which you can get in the fountain soda machine. It's so yummy and they even provide you with extra lemon to squeeze in if you so desire. When you are leaving the employees thank you for coming and wish you a good day. It truly is a great place if you're a fan of sandwiches, good food, and friendly, efficient service.

I have ordered many times from here and wasnt really impressed BUT just had the corn beef sub and it was life in my mouth. Maybe Im being dramatic but legit almost ate the container.

Place your order at the end.

Fast food sub shop much better than Subway or Quiznos but not as good as a higher end deli. The service tends to slow down during busy times but the wait is reasonable. The subs come in 8 or 12 inches white or wear bread and the don't skimp on the ingredients unlike Subway. They are similar to Publix subs in quality but Publix has better bread. They do have a large variety of hot sauces to choose from, ranging from 1 to 10 on the heat index as well as your typical variety of chips and drinks. They have several tables, a couple of tv's and clean bathrooms. They have several locations around Florida. This location is in the same place as Elevation Burger, Sushi Runner and Chick Fil-a, so a good spot for lunch.

After a full day of work, the last thing I wanted to do was drive across Miami in search of dinner…read more Fortunately, Miami Lakes has its own surprises. One of them is 1910 Restaurant & Bar, a Spanish-inspired restaurant that blends premium steaks, seafood, and a little theatrical flair without losing sight of flavor. The meal opened with an order of Cheese Balls, crisp golden spheres that reminded me of pão de queijo, except they skipped most of the bread and focused almost entirely on the cheese. The exterior shattered pleasantly, giving way to a molten, creamy center. Paired with a pineapple sauce, each bite balanced sweet and salty in exactly the right proportions. My wife ordered the Australian Wagyu Flap Sirloin, a 12-ounce cut grilled over charcoal and served with house-made chimichurri. It was everything you hope Wagyu will be, deeply beefy, wonderfully tender, and rich without becoming overwhelming. The chimichurri added brightness without stealing the spotlight. Then came the dish that first caught my attention. The La Reina de la Casa, or "Queen of the House." At first glance, it almost feels designed for social media, a cheese pizza crowned with an enormous grilled octopus. I would be lying if I said that presentation didn't influence my order. Fortunately, this wasn't style over substance. The pizza itself stood on its own with a crisp crust and generous layer of bubbling cheese. The octopus, however, was the reason to order it. It was expertly grilled, tender without a hint of chewiness, and seasoned with a spice blend the server politely described as the chef's secret. Whatever was in that seasoning deserved to remain a secret, because it transformed an already well-cooked octopus into something memorable. Dessert brought things back to the classics with a crème brûlée. The sugar crust cracked cleanly beneath the spoon, revealing a silky vanilla custard underneath. Simple, elegant, and exactly the ending the meal needed. 1910 could have leaned heavily on flashy presentations and premium ingredients. Instead, it paired both with thoughtful execution. That's a far more difficult trick to pull off. Some restaurants earn attention because they're photogenic. The best ones earn repeat visits because the food is every bit as impressive as the photos.

Unheard of. I found them on TikTok and decided to stop by today and I'm glad I did. When I saw the ad on TT I told myself that the quality was gonna be subpar and boy was I wrong. Perfectly cooked juice-oozing filet wrapped in bacon with chimichurri on the side. The moros(rice and beans) was also a pleasant surprise. I believe they use basmati rice which is different than most restaurants. Crunchy tostones made in house too, not the frozen stuff thank God. And the portions? I couldn't eat it all so there's that. The joint is nicely decorated and it has a full bar as well as a good wine selection. The service was exceptional and even the manager checks on the table periodically so kudos for that too. An 18% gratuity is already included but well deserved nevertheless.
