My son had an iced vanilla matcha latte, and it disappeared in about four minutes, which says it all! My partner ordered a regular cappuccino and really enjoyed his drink as well. The café has a cozy, slightly gloomy vibe, which I personally love in a coffee shop. It creates the perfect atmosphere to relax and unwind. You pay first at the counter and then find your seat, which makes the process smooth and easy. The pricing was reasonable too, typical coffee shop prices for really good quality drinks. I have been here so many times and it's always good. As expected it was busy on a Saturday morning. Although it looks small there's lots of seating inside and some seating outside. I wanted to try something new so when I asked the barista for her opinion of whether the pistachio latte would taste better cold or hot her response was "if you like cold drinks get it cold if you like hot drinks get it hot" so that wasn't helpful. I couldn't taste the pistachio flavor in my drink. I also ordered the avocado grille and this was pretty good. On a separate occasion I had ordered the tuna croissant and it's still one of my favorite meals here. It's in a great location, with good food and good coffee. Usually the employees are a little more friendly than this last visit, but this still remains one of my favorite coffee shops. read more

Cutest coffee shop in town. Ordering was made easy at the counter and food is brought to your table if dining in, food arrived quickly. The menu has a great variety of items to be ordered. Every time I come to vanilla espresso I'm grateful that we have such a nice little gem in the area for a relaxing coffee or meal. Once in a while I come in to do their lunch special (soup & a slice of quiche), but am more often in for an iced latte to go. My favorite items are any of their quiches, a hot or iced coconut latte, and their Dubai desserts. Even just waiting for my latte to go, the amazing staff is asking if I need anything, if they can get me water. They are all so friendly and make the experience even better. They can get pretty busy on the weekends, but I've never had to wait which is also a bonus. I'd say this is the best cafe in Miami Lakes in terms of quality, service, and variety. Okay, confession: I'm not typically a French-bakery girlie. But the amount of positive reviews drew me in. I went with friends who are total coffee heads, and none of us were disappointed. The coffee was incredible, honestly some of the best we've had in a while. And the food? Even better. From the croissants to the escargot everything was delicious. The vibe, the people, the service, all 5 stars. It has that charming atmosphere where you actually want to sit, sip, and stay a while. If you like mimosa ... you can order one with your meal. You know I did! The food is ordered at the cashier and a number is provided to place on your table and they will bring out your drinks and food once it's ready. I had a mimosa that was perfect! My friend chose to drink coffee. A pitcher of water is available on the table as well. I was clustered not knowing if to order my usual benidit, or a few mini croissants or a regular croissant. I ended up ordering the regular caprese croissant. Very tasty but I felt it had more bread than what I would like. So it's by your presence regards to the bread. Next time I would possibly choose to order 3 different mini croissants. My best friend chose the avocado toast that also came with salmon but she requested to opt out of the salmon on her dish. Croquet monsieur was below average. I have had this at several French spots, and this was by far my least favorite. Bread was somewhat on the soggier side. I could not taste the bechamel sauce at all. Prices are on the higher side as well. I spent $22 on this ham and cheese sandwich and an iced coffee. I've been here before a couple years back when it opened and returned today. They've improved significantly both on the food , ambiance and overall experience. We came in at around 7:30am and it was already busy with one person for both the register and tables. He was fantastic;great attitude and genuine care. We were in a rush so we only ordered two mini croissants (caprese and Ham and cheese), I recommend you try both but my favorite was the caprese croissant. Great cappuccino and Americano was good too. Let me get the negative part of this review out of the way before getting to the good. As mentioned in many reviews, Vanilla Espresso is an adorable quaint French bistro, but thanks to its quaintness gives no room to sit unless you're throwing elbows trying to grab the table of someone that just stood up. There is little inside and outside seating and it's first come first serve. To order, you stand in a line that's a little crowded and after ordering receive a number that you can either take to a table if you find one or hold with you standing as you wait for your to-go order. We ordered ours to go as there was no signs of any one leaving any time soon. At 9 months pregnant this wasn't ideal but my husband and I decided to just eat in the car. When a table did open up, another man quickly ran to the table at the same time as my husband and ultimately ended up sitting at it. Whatever. We ordered a croque monsieur and croque madam as well as a mini Nutella croissant. The Nutella croissant was nothing impressive - just a mini croissant with a small dab of Nutella. The sandwiches, however, had a nice size to them and a side of chips. Both sandwiches were well stacked with ham and cheese and had a nice flavor. We unfortunately didn't have a coffee which I will be sure to try next time based on positive reviews we've seen. Overall the food was good and definitely a nice change of pace from regular scrambled eggs and bacon, the seating is the only thing that would keep me from coming more often. read more

Food is over priced and definetely not woeth the price. This place use to be an old Spaniard restaurant that closed down. The crossaints are way better in Bj for 1/10 of rhe price and their lattes are not good at all alhrough very decorative. Stay away feom their overpriced pancakes which taste like those frozen pancakes which is surprising as they are like $20. If you can, I would look up the menu online to have an idea of what you would like beforehand. There is limited seating inside and outside as the cafe is small inside a strip mall. It can get pricey here as a small meal costs around $22-25, la carte items are around $10-15, and drinks are $8-10. I ordered a coffee, orange juice, and a meal then it came out to $46. 3rd time not the charm. I kept coming back because I simple wanted to love this place. The atmosphere, the service and the promise it's honestly great. Unfortunately, time after time they fail at the basics. Their coffee is under par and their French toast which is a side in many of their dishes is often cold and unimpressive. Poached eggs are a little on the hard side but otherwise good. I did like their bread and little yogurt but not enough to fill my expectations. The poached eggs were good, though a bit too firm for my taste. I really enjoyed the yogurt, baguette, and fresh orange juice, but the French toast was a letdown...it tasted like your average school-style French toast and was served with corn syrup instead of real maple syrup. Service itself was very nice but its a order at the counter experience so I cant fully give it a proper rating. Love the ambiance but prices are outrageous, even for Miami Lakes. And the food isn't spectacular considering the prices. Had the petite déjeuner and a coffee just for myself and spent $32. The French toast was flat and dry, bacon was not crispy and got a smidget of yogurt and fruits. Coffee is always very frothy and delicious at this spot.
