We have enjoyed Firehouse Subs at various locations in Dallas for years and were eager to dine at the Sherman location. Unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience and we won't be back. The restaurant was dirty and unkept. The staff was less than welcoming and we waited over 20 minutes to get our meals. They prioritize"to go" orders over walk ins. With other options in Sherman like Jersey Mike's, this Firehouse Subs has lost a customer. Contacting corporate to share our experience was an impossible task as well. read more

My tummy was grumblin for this grub today, I went in happy with a 50 dolla bill but couldn't pay because it was over 20 had to get my card which luckily didn't decline, my sandwich came out cold! (I ordered it cold) luckily they had Mrs Vickie's yummy chips to take with me. read more

As evidenced by other reviews on this page, and my own, calling out poor service is important. This was my first time here after living here a year, but that's really just because I don't think about having Firehouse. I should because the food is fantastic. The sandwich I bought tonight was delicious. But that is where the positive feedback ends, and the reason for 2 stars instead of 1. First, online ordering (and thus, rewards) are advertised everywhere, but they don't take online orders or rewards. Second, I walked in and was the only person at the counter. All 3 of the ladies working there were moving like slugs and kept looking over at me with apathy and a complete lack of desire to take my order. One of the ladies drew the short straw and rolled her eyes while wandering over to the register. She stood there, didn't welcome me, ask me what I'd like, nothing. Just silence. So, I started placing my easy order. A club sub with mustard only on wheat and a combo. The same person made my sandwich, moving at a snail's pace, hands me my bag, again says nothing. I leave and go out to my car. It's slathered in mayonnaise and missing the bacon. I return it, tell her that she put mayonnaise on it and forgot the bacon. She looked at another worker and said "I didn't make it". But...she did. The other person made it perfectly and, again, it was delicious. I know that hiring is a dicey situation now and getting quality candidates is likely almost impossible in Sherman, but as many other reviews say the same thing, slow, rude service, means that this place isn't likely to be here much longer if the owner continues to ignore it. Was told to come back because they had too many online and catering orders. They even win as far as to suggest we eat somewhere else.

I wanted a meatball sub late in the evening - 8:20 pm. I called with 30 minutes until close but no one answered, my wife also called for me but no one answered. I tried the app but it wouldn't allow me to order. I drove to the store and the door was locked at 8:46 with a customer inside. The GM opened the door without identifying herself as GM and we spoke about no one answering the phone. She said it was in the back and on silent...? That was just an excuse for not answering the incoming calls. A restaurant associate told me that the woman who answered the door was the general manager. She offered for me to place my order. I attempted to order a meatball sub and learned that it had already been put away for the evening. I ordered my wife a hook n ladder and left very frustrated. The general manager displayed an extreme lack of responsibility to her commitment to the store and the corporate set hours of operation. She also displayed an absolute willingness to make excuses and lie about the ability to answer the incoming phone calls so customers could place orders. It also seems obvious that she prepared her restaurant to close early and so shut down many of the food options extremely early and against company policy. My wife manages a restaurant and they do not behave in such manners. Integrity is the backbone of all business and this GM had none. I am wildly disappointed. read more

Riding that rollercoaster downhill really fast. I haven't visited here in a while and now I remember why. After ordering, we waited almost 30 minutes for the ice machine to be refilled... after several customers had asked about it. Their bread was old & dried out and the flavor of the sandwich was bland, just not there like it used to be. Disappointing visit; hope things start to improve soon! read more

This one's always a favorite for sandwiches. Good steamed sammy's and they support our first responders. I'm a creature of habit here, always the Hero sub, with olives and bell peppers added. These definitely need salt and pepper at a minimum. Always moist and always good. read more

There is NOTHING FAST about this place. Sitting here waiting now for over 20 minutes on my order of 3 medium sandwiches, as I watch 6 employees behind the counter standing around talking about everything other than work, moving slow as can be. I have only seen 3 orders come out in the time that I have been here, and watched those customers walk out upset at the amount of time it took for their order to be ready. read more

It's 105 degrees today, and I was just charged $3 for a drink and the ice machine is broken. I wouldn't have paid $3 for a warm drink... meanwhile 2 managers sitting at a table at 12:30pm lunch rush, could care less about ice. If anyone with an ounce of business sense worked there, they'd go 1/4 mile down the road and get ice. Incredible. Never again. I wish I had read these reviews first. I ordered online at 8:15pm and arrived at 8:20. There were only 2 other customers who had already ordered but were waiting on 2 sandwiches. One worker quickly told me that they were out of turkey, and olives and napkins and... I told him we had ordered online. He was clearly disappointed that I had already placed my order. There were 4 people working, rather there were 4 on the clock. One teenager was the only one working. The manager was walking around doing nothing. Our 3 sandwiches, which cost $48 with chips & drinks, were finally ready at 8:40, 25 minutes later! They made a total of 5 sandwiches in over 25 minutes. They had no soups available so I didn't get my soup that was the reason I ordered from them. The "hot" sub I ordered was cold and soggy. The Mac and cheese I substituted for my soup was a cold blob of noodles and cheese. Horrible food. read more

Dear business manager... I'm kind of a stickler for treating customers properly... I just retired but I was born with the ability to create successful startup companies... I started 6 in my 35 year career and the key is how you treat the customer on the phone and when you're eyeball to eyeball. You have a young man with an attitude and I guarantee hates his job there. The food is not the problem. They are polite as well. My problem is everyone working here must be attached to a plow or anchor. I'm my experience, you can add at least 20 minutes to whatever time their app says it will be done. I have never seen anyone or anyplace take so long for a sandwich. read more

We went for a little ride up towards Sherman for a cool lunch in Loy Lake Park. So we ordered online via the website. She had a medium Roast Beef and I had a medium Steamer. Both were very good. When we arrived, the "online pickup" area wasn't clear, and in fact there was a table probably where it was previously...anyways, they directed us to it after supplying the drink cups/straws. Service was very good, but the hidden online order area...well to me that cost them a star. Place was very full for the amount of tables they had available, which is good. I'm sure when things get "back to normal", they will get that 5th star on our next visit. read more

They had to have at least 8 to 10 workers working side by side, walking back and forth, working fresh food items behind their bar without masks, some without gloves. I came to pick up a DoorDash order. Was supposed to have it picked up by 10:45. The store opens at 10:30. But when I got there the door was locked still at 10:40. They finally opened the door after 4 mins standing outside. Get inside and they just walk around no eye contact or words exchanged asking if any one needed help. At 11:00 I'm still waiting on my DoorDash order so I have to call the customer. He didn't sound too happy. Still waiting at 11:05. The food was good and the place was clean but the experience with the staff has ruined it for me. We showed up an hour before closing and two of the staff mouthed off multiple times of us being there so late. Incredibly rude and smarting off plenty loud enough to hear. We left 20 minutes till it closed giving them time to clean up. Telling a customer they are going to make you stay late and how inconvenient that is for you isn't very professional specially when they are leaving. read more

I placed an order for 7 combo meals (not a small order) through Texoma Delivery. The delivery service was great. Firehouse managed to get all 7 drinks, all 7 bags of chips and only 6 sandwiches. It was a co-worker's sandwhich that was left out so I gave her mine. I was irritated but not mad. It's a Friday, things get busy and things happen. I did want to notify Firehous though because how can you improve or fix things if no one tells you anything is wrong or something happened. The combo, by the time you added tax to that combo, it was almost $20 so I also felt that they should know that it impacts someones wallet. Not that THAT should matter. I attempted to contact Firehouse. Afterall, the delivery service didn't package it up, Firehouse did and THEY left the sandwich out. This is where I got upset. I called - 7 - yes seven - times. The phone rang and rang and rang. The first three calls, I hung up after a dozen or so rings. I was giving them the benifit of the doubt. It was lunch time so they were probably busy. I have ordered via phone on my way home from work before and I know sometimes they are busy and just need a few extra rings - I was not trying to be a pain. The next four calls however, they would let it ring and ring and then pick it up and hang up without saying anything. I know they picked up, I could hear them in the back ground. To not say a word and just hang up is horrible customer service. They didn't know why I was calling. I could have been calling about a catering order for 500 people. They just hung up. Its not just rude, it could be costly! Firehouse is my favorite sandwich shop but I am debating on wehther I want to support that attitude and behavior. Would give less than the one star if I could. It's evident no action is being taken on all these negative reviews because I too had an issue with night shift. My family and I arrived at 8pm. Sign on the door and online both says they close at 9. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait for our food. Which wasn't terribly upsetting. We decided to wait and took a seat and waited. They asked us if we wanted to dine in and we told them we did. However at 830 when our food was finally done it was given to us in bags and we were told verbatim that we would "have to take it to go because they were closing". As soon as we walked out the door they turned off the open sign. Had we known we wouldn't be able to eat there we would have loved to have spent our money elsewhere. I hope that eventually someone with enough authority sees these reviews so some changes can be made. read more

The food is good-but small sandwich-probably 4 in sub meal with chips and drink $10.49 with tax. Too much. Cash register person not on the ball. He was very disinterested and got my bread choice wrong. Seemed like it took a while for the food. I don't think anyone else was waiting for their order. After we had placed out order, we had a problem with the system not recognizing our cards. That's right, it refused all of our cards. It turned out to be a problem at the bank data processing center, but that took some time and effort to work through. In the meantime Augusta (sp?), Andrew, and the shift manager (sorry, didn't get her name) were extremely patient and helpful. They helped us resolve the problem and then filled our order with some of the best subs I've ever had the pleasure of eating. All in all they turned an embarrassing situation into a great and heartwarming event. We will definitely recommend this place (Sherman TX Firehouse Subs) to everyone we know and will return anytime we want a great sub sandwich. read more
