Ordered prim rib med, sent it back twice because they kept sending me rare.. tried to explain to me red was not red. Got a lecture on what I was seeing was not real. Stopped by the Texas Roadhouse in Sherman, TX and it was packed. So we grabbed a couple seats at the bar. Surprisingly, the service was still super fast, didn't wait long at all for the food. We went for lunch today. We were seated next to the kitchen door. That's the initial negative thought. The next is when our Caesar salad was served after I mentioned we were waiting for it. Then the entree comes out just as I'm putting my fork in the first bite of salad. Then the salt grinder is broken and is dropping way too much salt, and the pepper grinder won't work at all. Couldn't see how much salt was coming out until it was too late! The country fried sirloin would have been okay, but the gravy it was smothered with had a weird taste for both of us. I didn't eat half of anything and started to get a to go box to bring it home, but never saw Skyler the waitress we had again. Our meal was $36.85 and we left $45.00 on the table. All our Steaks were tough! Took forever to even get our drinks ordered, so we ordered our food at the same time as drinks. Salads started coming out before we even had water, the rest took a very long time. We were not offered refills on our drinks, when I asked for a drink to go, the waitress forgot it. I am a steak eater from childhood. I have eaten at many steakhouses. Most were bland and tasteless. Texas Roadhouse is juicy and flavorful. The waiters and waitresses are smiling and friendly. They really seem to enjoy their job. We have always had good service. If you don't get fast or great service be patient and remember they are usually very busy and working their tails off, a little patience and kindness goes a long way. Texas Roadhouse is right up there with The Big Texan Steakhouse and Brewery in Amarillo Texas being a 5 and Texas Roadhouse being a 4. Over all it is the best Steakhouse this side of Dallas and for the most part everywhere. That is some high marks. If you get the Ribeye at Texas Roadhouse It will be tender, juicy and flavorful. My only complaints of lately is the cook is a little heavey on the pepper. I do have to agree with others it is a bit noisy, when you can't hear the conversation at your own table. Overall I am so glad to have Texas Roadhouse close to where I live so I don't have to cook every time I want a steak. read more

This was supposed to be medium well. There wasn't a bit of pink anywhere in the steak. Cook only prepares orders to what is convenient to them. I don't send meals back because I don't trust what cooks may do when a customer complains. I received NO discount. I had to pay FULL price even though I boxed it up to give to my dog. I'll visit another steakhouse next time I'm in the mood for a steak. We were sat in the middle of a child care center. I'm a combat vet and Memorial Day actually means something to me. Unfortunately, my sweetie and I ended up with absolutely horrendous food poisoning after dinner last night. I'm particularly sensitive anyway, so I was willing to call it a fluke, but he has a notoriously iron constitution which was taken down by whatever nonsense was afoot last night, which prompted this review. We both had a 6oz sirloin and salad, so who knows. Improperly washed greens are a pretty effective game of misery roulette when it comes to this sort of thing. I am so incredibly disappointed in this location. Not once, but twice did we visit and both times were miserable. Despite checking in on the app and being seated in a timely manner, everything went downhill from there. Wait staff was just unprepared and everything felt so half-done. Had to constantly ask for drink refills, if we wanted more bread, and on our second visit I received completely the wrong meal. Manager offered to comp our appetizer, but I explained I had used my birthday reward for it, so she said she would get us a new coupon for another one but never did. And our appetizer came out after our entrees, and it was cold. All in all, i don't think I will ever return to this location which disappoints me because I love Texas Roadhouse, but this location is not a good example of a decent one. read more

Terrible experience. First off, my boyfriend and I were rushed right from the start. When someone orders drinks and an appetizer obviously we're there to relax for a bit. The server clearly wanted to turn our table. We ordered our steaks medium rare. They came out completely over cooked. My steak had cheese and mushrooms on top and when I sent it back I was told to scrape it off and save it for a new one! What? So it can get cold and gross!!! While we were waiting on our new steaks our side dishes got cold. So forget the meal. And it's not cheap. It's steak. The blaring hillbilly music makes it impossible to enjoy a meal. Couldn't hear the server over it either. I had to put my earbuds in while looking at the menu because it was mind numbingly unbearable. I was tempted to rip the speaker off the wall. The steak was okay. Best part of the meal was the hot dinner rolls. Those were good. Overall, it was okay but, the music made me want to leave. Food is always great quality. Consistency! Consistency! Consistency! I always know what to expect at the Sherman location and it is my favorite. Staff is friendly and consistent! Atmosphere is a bit loud for me, I'm hyper sensitive to sound but the food and service keep me going back. I do have a cheat code for this location. If I want a medium rare steak I order medium and get the medium rare I'm really after. I love a place that is not afraid to season their steaks correctly. It's always just right with a great sear. My husband and I went to this restaurant for his birthday the very last of June. I'm going to say that although he and I enjoyed each other's company, we were relatively disappointed with the food. Our waitress was personable, but the food just did not have the same taste and flair as it did a couple of years ago when we drove in for his other birthday. I ate the filet mignon and to me, it was pretty flavorless. I only ate half of it and did not bring it home because of the lack of flavor it had to it. I did offer it to my husband and he pretty much felt the same way too. I liked the baked sweet potato, as long as it had their honey butter on it. The marshmallows were a little overwhelming and it wasn't quite as good as it looked. My husband said that his Porterhouse Steak was slightly overcooked and there was no flavor in it also. He likes to cook himself and loves steak and that's why I took him for his birthday, but outside of us enjoying each other's company, the food was really pretty disappointing. We were told the macaroni and cheese for the adults was really good, but he was disappointed there also. We both feel like the best thing that we had there for dinner was their rolls and did enjoy those with their honebutter.
