My family and I stopped to get sandwiches while driving back to Seattle from Portland and chose Firehouse Subs. My wife can be quite picky, so Subway is never an option, but the quality of the ingredients were second to none. The staff was super friendly and our overall experience was excellent. What a horrible rude staff at this place.I will never go back. A friend met me there for lunch we had an hour and she had to be back to work. We picked a table outside. She went in to order and I held the table. When I went in I told the cashier I was eating outside. I stood inside waiting for the order ....for almost 10 mins! First time to this location. Food was good. Bacon was crisp on my turkey bacon ranch sandwich which was really nice. Only complaint was the guy taking my order didn't seem to be paying attention. Let me start off by saying that I love everything this establishment stands for. The food here is really good... IF you can get your order. I've visited this location twice. My first visit was with two of my co-workers during our lunch break. One of my co-workers didn't receive her food. She asked for a refund after the rest of us had finished eating. They quickly brought her order when she was getting her money back, but the order was wrong. My next visit was also during my lunch break. I ordered online 30 minutes in advance with my pickup time. I paid for my order when I arrived and sat down. The cashier said she would have my order brought out to me. I still hadn't received my order over 10 minutes later, so I approached the cashier for a refund. The cashier found my order on the counter and realized they had just forgotten to give it tp me. I carried my now cold meatball sub out the door and returned to work. Not only was it cold, but the person who packaged it did so with marinara sauce all over their hands. There was sauce on the bag, the wrapper and even on the napkins. I work in a corporate office, it isn't exactly the environment where it's ok to gets lunch on your clothes. I'm from the South. We had Firehouse subs everywhere, and they were one of the few things I missed when I moved to the Pacific Northwest. When I learned they were opening up locations here I was practically vibrating with anticipation. As I bit into my first Hook & Ladder in years I melted in my seat. I work not far from this location and have probably eaten there over 100 times in the last four plus years. What amazes me is how consistent this location has been. Every time I guy the sandwiches come out hot and made the way I order them. They never screw up my order. Most of the other restaurants I frequent are just not as consistent as I would like. The customer service is also I would say above average for this type of establishment and the demographic they hire. Very disappointed with the service received. Waited 40 minutes for my sandwich. There were 5 people making sandwiches at the time so I'm confused at how they got so behind. When I went to check the status and let one of the workers who appeared to be the manager know that the time had gone past my lunch break, she said thank you very loud, avoided eye contact, and walked away. This Firehouse has steadily went down hill since opening. The welcome ous all but gone. The meat and extras has shrank down to bare minimum. You do get lettuce lots of it. Noticed today they cut bread in half and toasted till crunchy on outside. Was real ruff on top of mouth. We will make the extra drive out to 192nd. The food was overall pretty great, perfect for a night staying in at the hotel. The only problem I have with this place is the staff. Going to a sub shop in Washington you expect the staff to be high, but they were so under the influence that they were just standing there doing nothing. One guy was making sandwiches and the rest were walking from counter to counter doing absolutely nothing. The food is pretty good but they don't follow their own online ordering instructions, make you stand in line for your PAID pickup, and one of my 5-6 visits (in store that time) they put the wrong dressing on my salad, and then said, can't you just eat it anyway? (which I did, because I was starving, but are you kidding me?) You can get salads and subs anyplace. Only come here if you don't care that much. You're going to wait. Even if you've already ordered and paid, and there's only one person in line in front of you, it will take ten minutes before you have your sub in your hand and can walk away with it. Get ready to dip into your child's college fund in order to buy a sub here. My wife and I split the brisket and spent $15 for this single sandwich. Four employees and not one acknowledged us as we arrived. I had to run the fountain drink dispenser for 35 min just so I could feel like I got my money's worth. The sandwich was "passible" at best, hence the two star rating. Rather than eating at this establishment weekly, I'll save the money and purchase this location. After which I'll can all employees and then liquidate the business. Then we'll celebrate by holding a burn to learn with all these ridiculous looking tables. Ok, so daughter was home on leave from South Korea from the Air Force. Went here because I have had great service and subs in previous visits. Asked for a Veteran discount as I am one, manager in charge says "only for active duty", good I said as my daughter showed her ID. " Only in uniform", the manager responded. We proceeded to let him know that travel in uniform is not allowed right now due to present threat level. That really did not matter to him.
