This is White Castle, folks, the crown jewel of hamburger cravings. Hell, they even made two movies…read moreabout this place. It's got to be good, right? Oh yeah. Dejected, disappointed, amazed. All adjectives to describe any Kansas Citian's remorse when WC packed up their burgers and moved out of town. Like the day the Colts left Baltimore in the middle of the night. When the Supersonics turned their back on Seattle for Oklahoma City. When your first love moved to Pittsburgh because her dad got a promotion. Sigh..... White Castle sliders are legit. These little buggers take about 2 minutes to cook because of their skimpy size. Who cares. Delicious. Get them with or without cheese, teeny onions included with a baby pickle slice thrown on top. Eat it while its hot because no self respecting WC fan likes a soggy bun. No sir. I've eaten 10 of these at a time before and had the stomach ache to prove it. Want ketchup? You'll have to grab 20 packets like in a school lunch line to satisfy your needs. The crinkly fries are also good. Don't pass up the opportunity for some chicken rings also. If you have the means, I highly recommend them. Yes, it's fast food. No, it's not good for you. Yes, you'll earn some serious street cred. No, you can't find them west of this location in Wentzville. Yes, I'll have some more. No, crave cases in your local freezer section aren't the same. Yes, my pupils dilate when I talk about WC. No, I'm not addicted. Yes, the first step is admitting you have a problem. No, just give me more.

The Service was terrible, the food was disgusting, and just the vibe in there was awful. I will not be coming back.

I stopped in one night after work because it was late, and I didn't want to cook…read more There was no wait and i was sat and brought water right away. I got the menu and ordered some pretzels. The beer cheese was tasty, and the pretzels were soft & salted. I had a bit of guidance with the menu from my waitress who was very attentive. I ordered the flagship tattooed dog, and upgraded my fries to have the carnivore toppings. It came out and WOW. I didn't know how to eat it. I ultimately ate all of the fries to clear up some room to handle the hot dog. Ended up using a knife and fork because i was making a mess. But both the fries and the dog tasted great. My waitress got me a box before i had to ask, and brought me the check. It was a quick, tasty, pleasant experience.

On our most recent experience, things appear to have slipped off. The service was still good, and…read morethe relaxed atmosphere works, even though the booth I sat in was getting a little worse for wear with a hole in the back, and a lack of support. An odd sign in the entry notes that are no longer accepting their previously issued gift certificates (wait, so you took money for these and are no longer honoring them?), but it didn't impact me. The food was where things went south. It took 30 minutes in a half full restaurant. I ordered the namesake Tattooed Dog, as I've had it before. It arrived with onion rings... 4 of them, from medium down to small. The dog was mostly warm (not hot), but withered like it had been cooking for a while. The meat was placed atop chili that was cold... cold enough to rob the warmth from some spots of the dog. The bun was a soggy mess, and none of the cheese was melted, so it couldn't have been under the heat lamp. It looked fanciful when served, but it was very underwhelming eating compared to past experiences. My wife had the chicken wrap, served with French fries. In a day and age when competitors give out fries like they need to clear an overstocked situation, it was a small handful that would normally be found in a Happy Meal from the famous clown. The wrap itself was shy on the chicken, and heavy on the dressing inside. What used to be a nice place, appears to be sliding downhill, as if the kitchen has given up. If they've checked out, so have we.
