Bathrooms are filthy, food is all store bought and old. Overheard one server tell another employee that they were joking that the water served to customers comes from the toilet. Buffet area is dirty with food all over. Areas are not cleaned up. You have to hold the lids to serve yourself, which makes it hard to hold the top, the plate and the serving utensil. This place is definitely quantity over quality. Makes Golden Corral look like a Michelin rated restaurant. read more

My husband and I went in for there for the lunch specials, were greeted by a very rude girl, we asked to sit at the bar which she wasn't happy about. She continued to be rude while we were there. They charged us the same price for a salad bar as my husbands meal who got a burger plus the salad bar which makes no sense! We stayed at the Ramada on Thursday and decided to stay in and eat at the attached Fireside Restaurant. The host was enthusiastic and pleasant and the waitress was super sweet and helpful. The food was top notch and so fresh and delicious. The portions were very generous and we had leftovers to take with us. We ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce and the baked cod with crab meat. The side orders of green beans with bacon and the Brussel sprouts were very tasty. We ate with family staying in another room and all of us thoroughky enjoyed our meals. The best prime rib sandwich I ever had. The Bar Tender was friendly, great and we had great conversation with her. We are from Nebraska staying at the hotel. We couldn't believe we had the whole bar to ourselves. I think we were on a bus trip with a bunch of Religious people that didn't drinking. We had the Sunday brunch here. It was $18.45 per adult and included both a selection of breakfast and lunch options. It also includes the salad bar. Some of the options were fish (I was told it was very good), mashed potatoes, chicken, prime rib which was extremely over cooked, scrambled eggs, omelets made to order, waffles, cream chipped beef gravy, bacon, fruit, broccoli and a few more items. For the cost, I actually thought they would have eggs to order. They would make you scrambled eggs, but that was it. So that makes me assume the eggs come from a carton. The desserts were very limited. I know they had chocolate cake, red jello and chocolate pudding. But that was all. For the cost I think they need to redo some items and possibly offer more options for egg service and desserts. I am giving them 4 stars because we have eaten here for dinner and had excellent food. While staying in the attached hotel, I enjoyed a few visits to this establishment. - Had their continental breakfast spread: decent, but not a "wow". - Went in for a nightcap after dinner one night and was more than pleased with the stiffness of the drink they poured and the friendliness of the bartender - Ordered a very good burger from them through room service. My husband and I stopped at this restaurant in the Ramada, as we were in the area. He ordered wings and a burger. I ordered a soup and salad. All of our food came at the same time. I pictured the soup coming with his appetizer and then my salad coming with his burger but that didn't happen. The food was wonderful taste wise. I found it odd that I was told after I had ordered my lunch that they were out of blue cheese and then she asked what salad dressing I wanted. When my salad arrived I found shredded cheddar on it. My husband and I have been going to the Fireside for many years. Recently it changed hands and we went to see how it was. The new menu is very limited and extremely pricy. I ordered the stuffed chicken breast and it was so dry I could not eat it. $33.....My husband ordered steak and he was satisfied with his dinner. It was an additional $7 if you wanted the salad bar instead of the sides. So they took away your sides and charged extra for salad. The staff was friendly and took care of us. Went here today for Mother's Day and they had a fixed menu with pricing. Okay. So we picked our meals, while we waited, we ate from the included salad bar. Salad bar wasn't much, but it was included. Ruby Tuesday's is better. As for the meal, welp, down hill from there. We had 2 orders of the NY strip, 1 order of crab cakes, 1 order of crab stuffed shrimp, and a shrimp scampi meal. The strips were over cooked, we ordered medium, and the stuffed shrimp were quite rubberish (over cooked as well). What they offered as recompense, was a discount. A DISCOUNT. $27 EACH meal, they gave us $8.39 discount for one of the strip meals, and $7.48 credit for the shrimp meal. Not coming here again if they can't even cook shrimp. read more

I had multiple issues with this establishment. Beginning with the waitress who didn't know the beers on tap and brought out the wrong beer. The soup and salad bar was ok except the soup was like warm- clearly below health standards. Some of the items on the salad were getting a little old and the chocolate pudding was starting to turn. Once I got my order (Thai Scallops) I got the wrong order. Since my plate was the last one brought to table I didn't send it back ( it had already been close to 30 minutes and I didn't want to be eating while everyone else was done). The Scallops were uneatable, mostly because they had not been cleaned and were over cooked. The consensus of the people at the table was that only notable items were the Crab Cakes and the green beans, and they were canned beans. I sent it back and by then I had lost my appetite. And then they charged me full price. After complaining to manager and told I was wrong about my complaints they took 30% off and I meal that I didn't eat. My wife and I went to Fireside for our 50th anniversary and we ordered the broiled crabcakes which was outstanding,and the salad bar and soup came with it. As it turned out ,they were having crab soup which was also outstanding. My family stayed at the hotel during our excursions to Antietam and Harper's Ferry. We enjoyed dinner in the hotel and I will say that the burger I had was amazing. It was cooked to order and the fries were ok. They also offer a 10% discount to hotel guests! My dad and I went here a few weeks ago. He ordered off the Lite Fare Menu which we thought would be fewer calories and he chose the haddock and baked potato. I ordered the scallop dinner with baked potato as well. I got a salad and he decided to get the soup of the day which was lasagna soup. My salad was alright but his soup tasted like chef boyardee out of the can. Once our meal came out his piece of haddock was so small and pathetic I would say about 3 ounches worth. His fish in the middle was cold, and his baked potato skin was so over done you could barely cut through it. My scallops came out in a garlic butter sauce but they were rubbery which means they were either frozen or they were overcooked. The sauce they were served in had absolutely no tatse and my baked potato was just as tough to cut through. PLEASE do not go here and waste your money, the food was absolutely awful and the service was nothing to brag about either. I am a server and a bartender so I know how to properly serve my guests.
