Veggie burger grinder and old bay fries
    Athena B.

Came here for dinner while visiting the area. My favorite part of the night was the host at the front who was also helping to wait tables (not ours). He was hilarious, and, unfortunately, I don't remember his name. I am super appreciative when I find restaurants serving vegetarian options, especially when restaurants are limited in the area. I got the veggie burger grinder, which while was basic, was also plentiful and satisfying. I got it along with the old bay fries, which were tasty. My boyfriend ordered the truffled mushroom pizza, which came out smaller than expected and also didn't taste much like truffle. He still enjoyed it, but would definitely get a different one next time. All in all, good experience and they have live music Saturday nights. Unfortunately, they were on a break most of the time we were there though.

Had the crab pizza, wife had the crab cakes. Feeling crabby I guess. The waitress that served us recognized from serving us at the Cardinal Bar earlier in the day (we made it count today) Everything tasted great. Packed house. Live music. Tasty drinks. No complaints here.

I decided to make a quick stop in Berkeley Springs to check it out before I celebrate my Birthday there. Given my allergy to wheat/gluten my dining options are generally limited. The service here was exceptional. Servers and Manager were efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. The Gluten free pizza was wonderful and the crab balls with Cole Slaw were good too. It's small but comfortable and I loved the art decor (available to purchase). Normally I always have tips for anywhere I eat. Here though, I don't have any recommendations after my visit. It wasn't very busy as I came in between a traditional lunch and dinner time so I can't speak to how they service is when they are busy. I suspect it is still great.

Arrived at 1:15 on a Friday. Seating was immediate, there was the remnants of a lunch crowd. Service was immediate as well. A good selection of alcohol and beer. Ordered the white bean chicken chili as an appetizer. It was very good and not too large a serving to disturb the mushroom pizza The interior is covered with paintings from a local gallery. The personal size pizza was the perfect size after the serving of chili. Total cost was $35,including one bottle of beer. I'll be back when I'm in the area

We stopped by here for a quick bite and were pleasantly surprised! They have live music in the evening as well which is a fun little touch. We got the Meatballs appetizer which came with cheesy bread and the Crab Pizza. Both were very yummy! The pizza is filling and rich, while the meatball flavor/texture was wonderful. Overall - great experience here!

Hilarious signs that got me into the Naked Olive Lounge

Okay, so i got drawn in by the hilarious signs, but I would definitely stay for the cocktails!! My wife and I had the marinara sauce dip with half a loaf for an app and the crab pizza for the entree. I can't put my brain around it but the marinara sauce they have is amazing. The loaf of bread they have makes it a lot better. Crunchy outside and soft inside. They also didn't skimp on the crab for their crab pizza!!! As for the cocktails, OMG. I tried the Cara Cara orange vanilla rum soda and it was delicious!! For my second round i figured i'd try something with a bit more ooomph and their Pumpkintini sure brought it!! I think it's seasonal but if you can try theirs, go for it!! Their service was also totally amazing!!!

Very cute and popular spot on Main Street! They use the olive oils and basalmic vinegar from their shop next store in their cocktails. I LOVED the steak and ale soup and the pulled pork sandwich was very good. Service was good even though they were packed for apple butter festival

Fast, friendly service. Variety of menu options including a few vegetarian. Food was very good. Portion sizes were good for lunch. We left feeling satisfied and cleared our plates. Local artwork on all the walls available for sale.

The atmosphere was one of the best parts of the experience. The music was great, people were singing, and the whole place felt fun, relaxed, and like somewhere you genuinely want to spend time. The hostess was wonderful, and our server, Trinity, was extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. She genuinely seemed to enjoy what she was doing, and that made the experience even better. We started with drinks at the table, and both were excellent. The Washington's Rebellion Cherry Bounce was memorable and very well done, and the house smoked old fashioned was also delicious. We then had the Roasted Brussels, and they were absolutely amazing. The combination of honey, balsamic glaze, candied pecans, and parmesan was outstanding. For the main course, I had the Powderhorn Chop, and the flavor was very good. My only critique is that it would have benefited from a stronger sear and a bit more crust on the outside. A little more Maillard reaction, that browning of proteins and sugars that creates deeper savory complexity, would have elevated it even further. We also had a salmon special that evening, and that was outstanding. Dessert was another highlight, especially the warm pecan bourbon pie with ice cream, which was absolutely delicious. Service was a major strength. In addition to Trinity being so warm and attentive, other staff members, including management, came by to make sure everything was going well. We also appreciated that they offer a military discount. This was our first time here, and so far it is the best restaurant we have tried in the Berkeley Springs area. We were told they are expanding, and we are already looking forward to coming back, especially if outdoor seating is added in the future. This feels like exactly the kind of place we will return to often, especially when friends come to visit.

You customize your order on a little index card (like the ones they do for burgers) with condiments, toppings, and other goodies. It's nothing crazy complicated, but it was still very tasty and well cooked. The drinks are in the lines of a dive bar, but kind of modernized/elevated. They infuse some of their own mixes that they use for custom drinks, which I think is cool. The decor feels very homage-y to dive bars with lots of signs and stickers with sarcastic/vulgar humor. They also have a small arcade and billiards table in the back. Overall, it's a very cool spot with a friendly atmosphere. You should totally check it out if you're in the area.

She was attentive, responsive, and…read moregenuinely seemed to care about our experience--especially when the food fell far short. In my view, good service deserves to be recognized regardless of kitchen performance, and Lydia absolutely earned that. This was our second visit. My wife and I enjoy oysters and were excited to find a nearby spot offering fresh half shells--especially with their $1 oyster special on Tuesday nights. On our first visit, we tried the "double D" oysters, which were large, plump, and fresh--exactly what we were hoping for. They were the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the lobster rolls didn't live up to the same standard. At that price point, they should be more substantial, and the bread should be appropriate for the dish. Instead, the roll was dry and the lobster portion was underwhelming. I'd recommend skipping it. That said, Lydia's service that night was excellent. Last night, however, was a different experience. Upon arrival, we were greeted by someone who appeared to be the floor manager, who made seating two people without a reservation feel like an inconvenience--despite several open tables and a largely empty outdoor area. Not a great first impression. Once seated, we struck up a conversation with a nearby table and ordered an appetizer, a dozen mixed oysters, and entrees. I went with the flank steak sandwich featured on the menu, while my wife ordered the paella. The iced tea was good, and my wife's cocktail was well-made and generously poured--no complaints there. The salmon bite appetizer, while tasty, felt overpriced for what it was: essentially broiled salmon on lettuce with a maple glaze. When my sandwich arrived, it came with exactly three overcooked, limp asparagus spears--I should've gone for the tots. The sandwich itself was even more underwhelming: a small bun with maybe three ounces of meat, a few mushy onions, and some cheese. My first bite was mostly gristle and fat. I understand flank steak isn't a lean cut, but when served as a sandwich, it should be properly trimmed and sliced. There's no excuse for a $20 sandwich to be that poorly prepared. The overwhelming taste of black pepper didn't help either. I ended up sending it back after one bite. Lydia handled it as professionally as possible, but I declined a replacement. As for the paella, it raised a different issue--how do you end up with overcooked shrimp and undercooked scallops in the same hot dish? It doesn't make much sense. While the flavor was decent overall, the execution didn't justify the price. To summarize: Lydia is excellent--if you go, take care of her. The oysters remain a strong point: fresh, plump, and enjoyable, though they could be more generous with the horseradish and cocktail sauce. The biggest disappointment was the lack of accountability from management. There was no visit from the floor manager (Mr. Inconvenienced from earlier) or anyone from the kitchen to address the issues, leaving Lydia to handle everything herself. The wait staff deserves better. If you're going for oysters, it's worth a visit. If you're planning a full dinner, be prepared for high prices, small portions, and inconsistent execution. The service staff and menu have potential--but the kitchen needs to step up. One final note: if you're charging $36 for a pour of WhistlePig whiskey, it should be served properly--with a clean glass and appropriate ice. Serving it with debris floating in the glass is unacceptable. You lost that customer too. Lydia is the ONLY reason why this is rated above one star. Kitchen needs to step up. Big. You're going to start losing servers.

Great music! Excellent whiskies and beers. Ambiance like a really nice barn :-)…read more We wanted a Memorial Day (2025) daytrip from greater-Baltimore. Harper's Ferry is very close! Like an hour (ish) drive. So what's happening in HP? The Barn out Washington St. had a MemorialDay weekend all-day mostly-country music event 2pm to 10:30pm! Very nice. They have a great little bar inside, and sometimes have food from one of the restaurants across the parking lot, or just walk over for takeout, or i think i read that they deliver here. By the way, parking can get a little tight for a bigger event like this one, but we were early enough, maybe 1pm, and we scored a space when someone left. I might as well add that there's several clean restrooms sort of across from the bar. We settled into a huge comfy couch near the back of the hall, behind the seating for roughly 30 at tables and picnic tables. There was also seating for roughly 20 at tables out on a deck. The first solo singer-guitarist, D.C.'s Kate Smiles, had a lovely voice and sweetly original interpretations of rock and pop and country songs that i knew, and a presence that made me say, Hey, Wow, I can relax in this mellow mood with a really nice whiskey from a list that my local bar would envy. By the way, they were out of the local whiskey, Devil's Due, so i had a warming fiery oaky slightly-sweet Elijah Craig bourbon, neat, with a water back. Mmmmm. The second musician, W.V.'s Andrew Copenhaver, moved among soulful blues and country, some classics, some modern. He could put an edge on his voice, and he could hit some deep bass notes, so it was a real pleasure when he gave us Folsom Prison Blues. When you can hit that low note, you have a right to do some Johnny Cash. By now i was into some crisp local beers. That little bar really has everything, including a versatile bartender who made every drink we knew, and we sampled his skills as the third musician, NoVA's Mark Cullinane, took the stage. He had a wide range of country songs, including a moving original that made us feel we were driving in our pickup behind his dad's. He had a great rich tone and great range. Like the second musician, he used some kind of looper to create full layers of harmony. What with all the beverages, we started to fade a little as the music moved into the set by NoVA's seriously-country Rowdy Ace Band around 8pm. They really lit up the hall and the patio and probably a good piece of nearby Harpers Ferry. We eventually moved on to our reservations for dinner across the parking lot at Snallygaster's restaurant. But that's another story. We had a terrific afternoon and evening. The Barn will definitely be one of our go-to spots in this town, and we'll be looking to hear these musicians again!

The table had an umbrella, so we were able to enjoy the outdoors without being in the sun. We ordered the Cobb Salad ($20) and Red Rice and Hemp Burger ($15) with a side salad instead of fries (additional $2 for the salad). The Cobb salad was very good. Large portion with big chunks of moist chicken. The salad was fresh and tasty. Italian dressing was good. The "Hemp" Burger was a new one on me, but essentially i understand it is a rice-based burger with Hemp seeds for protein. It comes in a large bun with caramelized onion and bbq sauce. I liked it. It has a mild flavor, the patty is pretty soft and the combination of flavors was very pleasant. The "side" salad was large and very fresh. I enjoyed the vinaigrette very much. Unfortunately, our server went AWOL after dropping off our food. We had a question and he wasn't around. My water glass was empty and no sight. My partner's water glass was empty for a while and - I kept looking around - but no sighting. I finally did something I hate to do, which is to call over another server, but we both were thirsty and needed something to drink. That server was very nice and promptly came over with a water pitcher for us. The bad service really wrecked what was otherwise a good meal in a nice atmosphere. So, here's the thing. I considered giving 3 stars for this review based on the service. (We actually thought the server had quit - it was ridiculous - the place wasn't crowded at all.). But, the other servers in the area were working really hard and one did come over quickly to help out, so I'm going to hope for the best. I do want to send a message in this review to the restaurant that this did leave a bad feeling. I doubt we'll be back. Too bad.
