Greek salad n feta and lemon potatoes (not on the menu)

Just opened in Wayne! We decided to go for a late lunch/early dinner and sat at the bar. They have great cocktail options--I got the sage martini, and my husband (the beer drinker) was pleased to see they had Heineken Light. We ordered the Mediterranean trio dip with pita. The hummus and pita are vegan; the other options are not. For our meals, we ordered the Greek salad (no feta) and lemon potatoes, which they made special for me and are vegan! My husband ordered the Chilean sea bass, which looked amazing and was a huge portion. Overall, the service and food were great, and we're so glad we stopped in to try it. We'll definitely be back!.

My new favorite HAPPY HOUR!! And right in town! Makes me happy so glad we decided to come check it out tonight! They've only been open since October. We were welcomed by a sweet hostess Lianna and went over to the bar area where the happy hour special is. There are a few tables but they were all taken. Our bartender Florio was very friendly. We placed our order and were served pretty quickly. I started with a fig martini which was excellent but then had another Pom Fig which was their speciality and it was delicious! My husband had a smoked old fashioned. Nice presentation. Appetizer we went with octopus and clams. Yummy... Loved my dinner which was the chicken Souvlaki with rice , tzatziki Greek salad! So flavorful!! Being that we were full We decided to take dessert home which was the baklava. It was heavenly and great way to end the night!! We will so be back!!!

    Beautiful bar

Nice cocktails, exceptional food, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff made us feel right at home, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. A wonderful night spent.

Absolutely amazing meal. My BF and I enjoyed everything we ate. The seafood was amazingly fresh. I had the salmon with beets and labna. The serving was very large. My BF had the pistachio crusted halibut which I think was even better' The service was beautiful. Our water glass was never empty. They started the meal with some bread, tomatoes and feta. . We will def be back.

    Very different baklava

1st time at this new restaurant. Overall very good and will cone back again. Octopus appetizer spectacular. Tender and grilled to perfection. Seafood appetzer good not great. A few clams, mussels, calamari and a little octopus over arugula. Fresh could have been seasoned better. The fresh lemon made it very delicios. Then we waited a lengthy amount of time before entree served. It was excessive and the server didnt say a word to us until 2 minutes before they finally arrived. 3 of us got the pistachio crusted halibut and we loved it, however, it was luke warm upon receiving, sad especially considering the considerable amount of time between app to entree that we waited. And branzino was the final entree, ot was also incredible. Hiwever the potatoes were crazy salty and tasted reheated. We finished with an incredibly amazing baklava. Service needs sone work. And maybe a few preparation tweaks. We loved the food and hope next time is a little better

I was so sad that I never had a chance to try cafe chameleon (prior occupants of this location) but no matter, this place is a gem in a wasteland of pizza and Chinese (I grew up next door in butler so I say this lovingly). We went for our anniversary dinner tonight and i definitely didn't feel like I was in bloomingdale. Beautiful decor, extremely clean and well cared for with warm service. We sampled the lump crab (my favorite, nice portion!), oysters (massive) and tuna tartar (beautifully presented). My husband had the cacio e Pepe with the filet and they did a great job on the sauce. I had a phenomenal Atlantic cod with a delicious lemon butter sauce. We loved the drink selection and as someone who has been to Greece and Italy numerous times they did a stellar job here with their food.

Flavor was great and on point. from the time I ordered to pick it up, it was about 20 minutes. Waited inside for the order and there's a bar area and also another side to dine in. I did see some happy hour specials that look intriguing. I did not take a picture, but I'm not sure if it said 35% off menu during those happy hour times. - OK, let's talk about this flavor bomb the feta in the salad was full flavored and thick. Yum. I assume Taziki I used for the chicken and it was the thickest dip I have ever had and now I don't want it any other way. The chicken was very juicy tender, pulling it off.. included some bread and the sauce that was included with it possibly was roasted red peppers. Tasty. I will be coming back.

Beet salad was good but could have used more cheese and pistachios instead of walnuts

Go here for a fun nj dinner vibe, nice atmosphere where people dress nice and aren't wearing sweat pants and pjs in the restaurant. You walk in there's a bar area upon entry and then off to the right behind the hostess is a cool dining room set up...there's a cool built in fireplace in the wall and greenery in the ceiling. The chairs are comfy, the music is good, the place is fresh and new and the food is pretty good. GET THE BRUSSELS SPROUTS with Labneh and Grilled Peaches! Salty/lemon seasoning and Banging! The zucchini and eggplant chips were also salty and delish. I did not care for the Pom fig martini recommended by the waiter....I asked for a sweet martini but this was bitter and tart and I couldn't drink it so will need to try it without the Pom next time. For my main I had the spaghetti mare e bosco which was shrimp, asparagus and mushrooms in a pink sauce. It was a heavy dish and had a large portion of pasta and I personally would have liked more veggies included. Hub had a $60 steak with mashed and it was good but a bit pricey for the portion. We will be going back for sure to try other things on the menu. The things that are making me want to come back; easy location, cool vibe, good music, nice atmosphere, different menu with lots of options and specials; and finally I'm know I'm a weirdo but its the Brussels sprouts!

Let's talk about the octopus because it's the best octopus I have had in a very long time. Overall the food was good and fresh. I didn't not like the polenta Square that the halibut came on, but I can't like everything. The drinks could use a little flare, but for simple regular drinks - not bad. Last but not least the service was excellent. Tony was attentive and on top of his game. We will be back.

I don't make it up to Bloomingdale often and when a friend insisted we needed to try a Mediterranean restaurant she's heard good things about up there, I was skeptical. But WOW. We had the zucchini and eggplant chips and fried calamari as appetizers which were fried perfectly. The chicken souvlaki was delicious and a very large portion. The server was so sweet and helpful with our questions. The ambiance was a little old school which I found surprising because it has "hip" potential but instead leans more on the side of white table cloths and caters to a slightly older crowd. They were even making bananas foster on an open flame in the middle of the restaurant which was fun to see. Will definitely need to make the trip back.

    Atlantic Cod - very good

We are fairly new to the area and been missing fine dining, as there are many casual spots around. We were pleasantly surprised to come across Krios. We typically go to queens for Mediterranean food when we are missing authenticity but this Greek salad was one of the best ones we've had since our trip to Santorini. We were impressed with every dish we had this evening. The Krios chips were by far the best we've had. I loved how thin and crispy they were. My husband is a chicken parm connoisseur and he said this was one of the best ones he ever had. The sauce, cheese and thin crispy chicken cutlet was amazing. My cod was very buttery and delicious as well. We loved the flambé dessert, very delicious and entertaining. Haven't had it since our trip to New Orleans and it was lovely! Bonus points for serving my fave rosé, whispering angel. Also, the service was excellent and attentive. Will certainly be back if not a regular at this place!

    Beet Salad

This was our first time, trying Krios. The staff was very nice and attentive. The restaurant is beautiful. To drink we started off with a dirty martini and the Grape vine. The grapevine was delicious. The dirty martini only came with one stuffed olive, not a huge deal, but almost every dirty martini always comes with three olives and for $16 it should. For appetizers, we had the crab cake and the beet salad. The crab cake and the corn avocado salad that came with it was delicious but the dressing on the side tasted like a salty deviled egg. The beet salad was okay as long as you had a bite of cheese with it, but the beets were bland and somewhat watery on their own. For dinner we had the lemon lobster ravioli that was delicious and my husband had the octopus app that he enjoyed. For desert we had the fruit flambé which was tasty, but could've had more fruit in it. The espresso and the tiramisu martini were delicious. As other reviews have mentioned the music is more of a club vibe which I didn't mind but it's different than what you would expect. Overall dinner was good but pricey. I hope it lasts in this area.

For the price and flavor it was so worth it. I got two meals out of mine. I got the gyro platter and it probably was one of the tastiest meals I've had in a long time. I thought the chicken was seasoned and flavorful. But by far, the best part was the white sauce. I would pair it with the mango lassi and it was such a great explosion of flavors - both savory and sweet. I will say they ask whether you're okay with onions and raisins in your platter. I liked them but I know raisins might not be what most people prefer to add to their rice. Service was fast. You can either order at the front table or at your seat. They got the food in a reasonable amount of time. The place looks small from the outside, but when you walk in, there's a back room worth of 30 people worth of seating. It's extremely cozy inside. There's also a parking lot right next to the restaurant and also across the street. The lot right next door is kinda small though, so you might need to loop around. Parking shouldn't be a problem and you can get a really good stop if you're lucky.

Do you ever have an experience at a place so bad that it ruins the trajectory of your whole day?…read moreThat was my morning at Jackie Smalls. I don't give out one-stars on principle unless the food is inedible or something egregious happens but I feel in this case it is warranted. This is my third time at Jackie Smalls. My first, I thought the avo toast was great. Second time I got a very bland breakfast burrito. My third, today, I brought my infant son and decided to dine in. I asked for a high chair and once seated was told by my "waiter" that he could not take my order but I had to order at the front. First issue was this high chair. Nobody knew how to adjust the straps including me, and it was some minimal little aesthetic thing that looked like he could easily topple out of. This is important later. Anyways no big deal with the ordering, front guy was accommodating and let me order from my seat. I ordered the Smalls Scramble for me and French toast for my son with the syrup and raspberries on the side, no pistachios or whip. Food takes a good bit to come out, which is no biggie either. When it arrives, they set down the French toast plate with a knife (a knife knife not a butter knife) on it in front of my son. Ok not great but I hand them the knife back. Then I try the food. Honestly, I'm not sure what to say about the food but...yikes. The eggs were certainly not soft scrambled, and the toast did not look buttered, and the weak potatoes were somewhat like a thick flaccid potato chip drenched in truffle oil and, by the way, not more than a speck of salt on anything. It looked pretty but that was about it. The French toast was deep fried or air fried and it was just not good. Sorry, no other way to say it. So I go to ask for two things: salt, and to inquire as to whether the multi-grain toast has nuts since I have an allergy and it looked concerning. I keep having to go up to these counters and leave my baby unattended in his unstable high chair because nobody will come to me and keep making me get up. I had to ask like five people about the bread until someone pulled out a binder and started looking for allergens. Everyone was just pointing me to the next person and many seemed to simply not understand my question due to a language barrier. I get my salt, and this is some COARSE salt. So I couldn't even fix the seasoning. Not flaky, but like coarse and pebbly for pickling or seasoning steaks, not for food. While I'm up and bouncing from person to person I keep gesturing at my son and nobody will come to my table. In the meantime, he smushed the raspberries and spilled the syrup and I'm back and forth between my conversation and keeping my son in his chair. At the end, I just didn't trust these people's knowledge of anything and could not eat any of my food but brought it home for my husband. It's one thing to serve food that needs a bit of work, but you need to at least offer normal table salt for folks to fix it. It's another thing to have the majority of your staff not know about allergens or how to navigate your high chairs. Also that food needed more than a little bit of work. I will say though those pancakes did look good. I will not be posting pictures for this review because I don't want to mislead with the pretty plating.
