Not the best place to go if you are a young lady. Didn't make me feel comfortable, were a bit rude, and standoffish. Went to tire engineers right next door and they were much better, explanatory. Avoid this place. Went in for a simple oil change and left with engine light on. They overfilled the oil, causing the engine, light and overfill of oil light to come on. Never had this happen before. The arrogance of the staff members nonchalantly didn't care about my time to get this fixed. Their response was oh just drop it off. How does fire stone mess up a oil change? This shop is likely a combination of predatory, understaffed, underpaid, or incompetent. Initially, they upsold me ~$1,500 for parts/labor that did not fix my problem. When I took my car to another Firestone shop, the mechanic diagnosed the problem in 5 minutes and solved within the hour. Several mechanics and the store manager at this shop looked at my vehicle and returned it to me not in working order AND without further direction. I had to advocate for myself to get it fixed and am still hoping for a refund. Note: you must call to get status updates on your vehicle/refund. The shop is unlikely to call back with status updates or reply to emails. read more

I had a 7:30 an appt for a tire change. I arrived early thinking at MOST the change would take an hour. They didn't move my car until 8:30. By 9:30 I walked out to check in on the update. It wasn't u til I went outside and saw that my car was propped up but no work was done. I was approached and I told the employee that I was here for a simple tire change. He responded and said he was working on multiple cars at once... but again, I had a tire change. By standing outside and watching, he got started on the tire change which in total took 12-15 to do. More than that the receptionist Donna needs a new position she is much too comfortable. This is my second day here and she consistently holds prolonged conversations catching up on who has had a recent baby while people wait in line. She also walked a customer through and entire estimate on the phone while 3 people waited in line for 30 minutes. Instead of telling the person on the phone to hold or even come in for quicker service, she held a 30 minute convo just for the person to say they would call back as they needed to decide if they wanted to make an appt. Someone needs to come in and look at the operations of the location and create systems that ensure accountability and customer service. There's no reason to wait 2.5 hours for a tire change when you have made an early morning appt. read more

First off let me say that I don't write many reviews. In addition, I understand that one unpleasant visit should not affect my view of this particular location. However, this 1 start review is based on accumulation of things. Today's encounter is the tip of the iceberg. I dropped my car off at the intended appointment time at 12PM 11/20 for oil change, tires, and inspection. I was told I would receive a call. The location closes at 7:00 PM. I had to call this location at 6:30 PM for an update since no one decided to call me. I was told they are still pricing everything then proceeded to tell me their recommendations. I was asked if I was going to pick up tonight or in the morning. (Remember this location closes in less than 30 minutes at this point.) I elected to pick up in the morning. I said I'll be there at 7:00 AM when they open. I was told to be there at 8:00 AM to pick up to allow staff time to get organized. Today 11/21, I decided to show up at 9:45 AM to pick up my car. I understand things are not perfect, so I gave you over an hour from the time I was told to be there, in order to have things together. So why are you telling me at 9:45 the next day that you haven't even started on my car that I dropped off yesterday at the appointment time. What was the point of the appointment time? This location is highly unprofessional, disorganized, lacks communication, and I would highly recommend a different shop all together. Simply a garbage company & shop - We had been told by Costco that we had a bearings issue just from a pothole or something. I dropped my car off, working completely fine, and then all of the sudden it doesn't work. They said they had to go replace the battery for $200 dollars amongst almost $5,000 of other random work completely unrelated. Upon picking up my vehicle, all of the lights turned on around the wheel. Having a hard time turning over, I was told that if I wanted it to turn on I just have to "press the on button multiple times until it turns over" and to fix it would consist of replacing the starter for $600. This place is a horrible excuse for a shop. Ended up calling corporate but their line just repeats "We can't take your call because we're in a meeting!" Thank god for American Express - we'll get our money but this is still annoying. read more

We spoke with Donna (the general manager) at 5:40pm and was very helpful. We got a flat tire and by the time we were able to put on the spare it was almost 7pm (closing time) and we called again. She kept the shop open until we were able to come in (7:30pm) and our car is currently being evaluated. Very great service and fast response times. Follow up: the shop was able to replace our tire all in the same trip and stayed open until our issue was resolved. read more

I have frequented this location on an off for the past 3 years. I've never been impressed with their service but I typically only get my oil changed so my interactions were brief. After my visit to this location yesterday, I will never return again. Horrible customer service & quality of work I scheduled an appointment for an Oil change and 4 new tires for 9AM. I did not leave until 1pm.. I know it does not take 4 hours to do that. After the completion of my service I had to come back because my alignment was horrible and was pulling very strongly to the left. Also I saw a number of the employees smoking cigarettes inside of the garage .. which was crazy to me!! I'm not an expert on cars but I know that fire, oil, and fumes do not mix well .. The facility was so disgustingly filthy! There were ants everywhere, the chairs were dirty, the coffee machine was dirty, the floor was not swept, the bathroom wasn't clean. Charged a arm and a leg for a simple oil change and they called me and quoted for basic maintenance and a tire rotation for $800

Do not take your car to this location!!!! I took my car in for a tune up only to return 3 days later because my check engine light came on. Once I return to see if they could solve this issue, Donna the unqualified manager working the from desk, told me per the technicians recommendation that my check engine light was on because I needed the oil, cabin air filter and Engine air filter replaced, as well as secondary issues like windshield wipers wipers replaced. So I get the air filters and oil changed, and literally right when I am leave the parking lot my check engine light is still on and my car is still experiencing issues. On top of that, the unqualified technician that performed the oil change and replaced the air filters did not even notate on the invoice that my check engine light was on?!?! Judging by the lack of professionalism from Donna the severely unqualified location manager, I'm certain that the technicians were never coached or trained on notating issues on their invoices. So I leave my car there on Saturday morning, never get a follow up call on the status of the vehicle, only for me to finally call them 28 hours later & for Donna to tell me they cannot diagnose the issues this weekend because they don't know what the issue is. Now I am not a car mechanic, I would assume that you can connect some sort of code reading device that would explain what the issue are, and if it was a properly trained technician performing the service, they should of noted that on the invoice. I will try my luck with one of their competitors next time. Donna is severely under qualified to be a manager, and is a poor representative of what a leader is. Customer service is a key performance metric for any business, and apparently this is not taught at this location. I give this Firestone location 0 stars. Finger of shame for Bridgestone for having such a poor representative of what a leader is at this location. read more

Wow double the price! Got a nail in my tire took the truck in to fix. They explained tire wasn't covered because nail was on the shoulder. I asked them to look at brakes. They did the brakes on all 4 tires. The price of $1300 seemed high but being the trusting sort I went with it since they had it on the rack. At the time I didn't know the going price for a full brake job is more like $500-$600. These guys screwed me worse than the one in my tire. Lesson learned all Firestone locations are not the same. I would suggest you stay clear of the team on Howell Mill unless you just like paying twice retail. Won't get any more of my business! Warn your friends I sure will! The good news is they are nice while are robbing you blind. STAY AWAY! read more

I entered the store and told Donna, the sales representative, that I needed an oil change; that my heater did not work unless I was driving; and that the tires needed to be aligned. I did not ask for an overall check of the car since I had had it inspected in December and it had passed. Donna was friendly and professional throughout; she took my request and said she would call back with an estimate. A few hours later, I got a call with the estimate. Though I had not requested an overall checkup of the car, Donna said her mechanic had done one anyway. She said he had concluded that I needed four new tires, new wiper blades, new spark plugs, new engine gaskets, a new air filter, a fuel system cleaning, a cooling system pressure test, a coolant fluid exchange, new front and rear axles, new front brakes and rear brakes, a brake fluid exchange, four new tires, and an alternator/generator: Total: $4889.57. I declined the wiper blades change, since they had been replaced the month before and seemed to be working well; I noted to Donna that all four tires, the brakes and the axles had passed inspection in December, and that I had driven the car only about 1200 miles since then. I also declined the antifreeze change because another mechanic had changed the antifreeze in October, when I first noticed that the heat was not working when the car was parked, and the antifreeze change had not fixed the problem. I asked her not to do any work other than what I had originally requested. A few hours later, I picked up the car. The oil had been changed ($75? Really?) and the tires had been aligned. The next morning, I drove to a Goodyear repair shop about 1/4 mile from the Firestone and paid $70 for their mechanics to check the car to see what it needed. A few hours later, I got a call saying that the car needed nothing other than replacement of a tire that had a nail in the shoulder (something Firestone had not noted but, in their defense, might have occurred during the three miles I had put on the car from one day to the next). When I told the Goodyear representative of my experience the day before at the Firestone, he rolled his eyes and said he had heard many similar tales from his other customers. I then took the car to Costco's tire center, where they agreed with the Goodyear mechanics in saying that only the tire with the nail in it needed replacing. I then called the company's 800 number and registered a complaint. The person who took the complaint said she would forward it to the area manager and that I would hear back from him. More than a week has elapsed and I have not heard back. Perhaps my wipers went bad in one month or were bad to begin with (though, as noted, they appear to work perfectly). Perhaps the annual inspection required to renew my license and the mechanics at Goodyear and at Costco missed the fact that all four of my tires need replacing; perhaps the Goodyear mechanics missed the fact that my front and rear brakes need replacing; that my axles need replacing; that my spark plugs need replacing; that my alternator/generator needs replacing. I don't know. I'm not a mechanic. But something seems amiss. Meanwhile, my car is driving just fine, though the heater still does not work when the car is in park. read more

The other service employees didn't even acknowledge me and one of them tried to rushed me out of the way so they can move a car out of the garage. I found a nail in my tire and took my car in to get it checked but received terrible customer service in the process. The older lady at the front desk had a nasty disposition and was very condescending towards me. I was told that my tire was fixable but she also insisted that I purchase a new tire. She proceeded to then tell me that "she doesn't make the rules" while displaying very off putting body language and tone. Beware the Firestone Auto Service center on Howell Mill Rd. After using them for 3 of my cars over 25 years, I will no longer be going back. Made an appointment by phone, dropped off my car at 7 AM for a 'rear brakes replacement', and the quote they called me back with was over $1400. Shocked, I asked for a break-down and the Manager told me $547 for just the brakes, but the rear hub bearings also needed to be replaced and "that was the noise you were hearing". I said "No, the noise was my rear brake pads grinding against the discs. And why is your brake repair so high for just 2 wheels?". She replied "Well that's what my mechanic told me, and the company (national chain) sets our prices". So I picked it up (after they reassembled everything), drove it out to the dealership and they replaced the rear brake pads and rotors for $419, in 75 minutes. (And the dealership also offered non-OEM pads at a $70 savings, but I chose to stick with GMC pads.) "No problem found with your rear hub bearings". Nothing worse than an auto shop that not only lies about the actual repairs needed, but also inflates your bill 30% higher than the dealership charges. Beware! read more

My husband had a simple oil change here. Less than 24 hours later he had fluid leaking from his vehicle. We brought the car back. They admitted they didn't tighten something, and as a result, oil leaked from the car and into the engine. They cleaned and fixed the issue, but no manager ever followed up or offered our money back after their debacle. I will NEVER take my car here again. Went to Firestone on N. Druid Hills Rd ATL, GA. Was greeted by Mike, a salt and pepper-haired guy, who immediately saw my name, and appt. He got started replacing 3 tires and said it would be a couple of hours! Turned into 3 hours, but that's okay. The other guy, a slim, bald Caucasian, never really looked up, and was always on his phone, and told me "someone would be with me soon" - twice! Seemed his phone calls were more important than a guy (or gal) standing right in front of him. Two other African American guys (I'm black btw) acted like they were too busy or too important to talk. One was busy with his highlighter - the other one (a Faizon Love look-alike) picked up his phone when I started walking towards him. They NEVER SPOKE to me at all. I came towards them three times and just stood there, waiting patiently. Mike was the only one that helped. The only one. The bald white guy and two black guys - were waaay too important to talk to me! I'm from No. CA, and folks are nicer and way more professional there. Don't know why I moved here. Won't be here long. This is my usual experience in ATL, and it's gotten old. Uppity or ignorant blacks with a chip, or equally ignorant others of another persuasion. And again, I'm black. ATL Sucks. Firestone sucks. Except for Mike. And one last thing - they tried to upsell a new battery - don't think I need a battery at all, and they didn't tell me about the ADAS charge on my alignment - an extra $50 bucks. I needed my brakes done and so I called on Tuesday before thanksgiving and made a 9am appointment for Saturday. First red flag, I arrive to my appointment and immediately told it's gonna be a while because I have 4 cars ahead of me. So what was the point in making the appointment? Then I wait an hour and half to be told I need a brake service; well duh, I knew that I didn't need you to tell me that's the whole point of this. Then they wanted to charge me almost $800 for the service. I'm sorry, WHAT?!! not only did they try to charge me that much but they didn't even have the part there and I'd have to wait for them to get there and then be put on. I made this appointment to avoid this whole wait process so that's just ridiculous. I called down the street and was quoted a much less price and guaranteed done in the next hour and half. So save yourself the headache and literally your entire day and just go elsewhere. I mean they were quoting people 4+ hour wait times to patch tires and oil changes. No thanks. read more

Good work & price, but disorganized. Be careful to provide your exact vehicle make/model/trim; another customer was quite delayed because Firestone was requesting brakes for a wrong trim that would't fit! Arrived at 10:00 on slow Wednesday & time estimate was 2 hours to install 4 tires & check alignment. At check out after 3 hours alignment had not been checked. Alignment checked out good & did not need to be completed. Also, at time of checkout I was notified that a TPMS needed to be replaced, at which would require an additional 45 minutes. Work was not complete until 4:40, more than 6 1/2 hours! read more

NEVER GO HERE EVER!!!!!!, I went in for a break change they told me I had 4 bent control arms (which is impossible to do BTW) but I was told I needed to fix all 4 plus the ball joints. it would've cost me 3k, I took my car to 2 pep boys plus the dealership and nothing was wrong with my ball joints and control arm it was a different issue which cost 500 bucks (dealership quote). My company car was towed here on a Sunday for a BATTERY replacement. I've been given every possible excuse when I call every day for why it's not ready. They'll make a commitment for when it will be done the next day and then I'll get another excuse. Each time I call I'm placed on hold - today I was on HOLD for 37 minutes to check status of my battery replacement before they just hung up the line without even speaking to me. It's been SIX days for a battery. Absolutely absurd. Will NEVER use this location again. read more

I brought my 2004 Ford F150 here to get work done and I was skeptical initially because of the cost but I quickly realized it was all worth it. They are people of integrity and really do their best to ensure the customer leaves beyond satisfied. In the past, I have taken short cuts by going with people who work on cars. Now, I will bring all my vehicles to Firestone Howell Mill. They have proven that they provide high quality service and work with their customers to meet and exceed expectations. Waited from 9-5 in the building for an oil change and oil pan change, was talked into a $110 diagnostic test for an abs light on my dash that they couldn't even service to begin with. Asked to have a sensor put on my one of my tires which didn't get done in the 7 hours. I sat and watched every other customer be serviced in under an hour. Also tried to sell me new brakes when i had them replaced two years ago and new windshield wipers i replaced within a year a ago. Would not recommend. read more
