Rude staff, zero professionalism, and management that clearly does not care. Avoid this location. I came in for a simple International Driving Permit application. Should have taken 5 minutes. I left over an hour later with nothing done. The staff member refused my application because my photos were black and white. There is no written policy anywhere that says this. She then pushed me to pay their ridiculous ~$10 for photos taken there. No apology. No explanation. No attempt to help. Just attitude and a hard sell. She was condescending, rude, and could not hold a basic civil conversation. This is not just a bad employee. This is a management problem. The person running this branch is either never present, not paying attention, or simply does not care how customers are treated. That attitude does not come from nowhere. My car was towed to the AAA Chastain Park shop after a AAA battery technician advised me to drive there (less than six miles from the Lexus dealership) for a full battery replacement check, assuring me the battery would recharge while driving. However, the car stalled just 1.6 miles from the location. With my phone dead and no way to charge it, I had to rely on strangers to call AAA for another tow. To make matters worse, AAA refused to schedule the tow until I placed a $100 credit on file and agreed to $7 per mile after the first five miles--charges that would not have arisen had the battery been properly installed in the first place. Once the car finally reached the Chastain location, the service advisor informed me they could not diagnose the vehicle until Monday, more than 48 hours later, stating, "I do not have a technician available today." I was only at that shop because AAA's own technician had directed me there. Despite this, they did not attempt to check the battery's charge, and no accommodation was offered for the incorrect guidance I had received from the battery tech. Ultimately, I had to pay out of pocket to have the car towed back to the Lexus dealership. read more

Went in to get international license. Filled out form but was told printer just stopped working for photo and to come back tomorrow. I asked if I could take a look and perhaps help troubleshoot (they refused which is fair). I then suggested perhaps trying restarting or cycling power since it had just stopped working and may be a minor issue that could be resolved. They refused and said they weren't going to do international licenses since they closed in 30 minutes. Felt they were being a little lazy as there were no other customers in line to at least try a simple troubleshooting step. read more

horrible. Took my car in for slightly squeezing breaks. was quoted 850. When I found another place that could do it for 550. They said they would match it. I also asked for new wipers. I left the lot with a low rumble. I called and they said that was the sound of the tires after they were rotated and not to worry. A week later breaks had a deafening grind and the rumble was worse. After it rained I also saw the wipers were not installed. Took it back and they admitted they installed the break incorrectly, apologized and said they would fix it due to the warranty? Okay. But then diagnosed the worsened rumble sound was due to a worn out bearing. And would not take responsibility for causing it due to the misinstalled breaks a week earlier. Quoted $1300. I left, still no wipers (that I paid for the first visit) found another place to fix the bearings for 500. NEVER go to this place. Crooks, unprofessional, and rude. I finally this evening got my new wipers and my car is running fantastic. What a horrible experience at this AAA. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Customers BEWARE - HUGE UNJUSTIFIED MARK UPS ON PARTS I trusted and relied on AAA Car Care at Chastain Park (Sandy Springs) to my detriment - to be blunt this location is price gouging and marking up the cost of their parts in my case over 900%. Horribly taken advantage of at this location. I was charged $1,209.99 for parts that were commercially available in Atlanta for less than $200. Car is a 2003 Infinti FX 35 with over 2300,000 miles. Car was running rough and had a check engine light on, had a smilar problem before related to a bad spark plug and coil wire, AAA confirmed need for replacement of all 6 spark plugs and coils abd a kit for the installation and quoted over $2000 for parts alone. I questioned the cost of the parts and was told it is an old car and thats what the parts cost. Like a fool I authorized the work without backchecking the prices...A simple search on Google indicated the parts were available for less than $200 and that the total repair cost should be less than $550. I protested the outrageous mark up cost of the parts by phone and in person with AAA staff - Marion Brown, Rahmee Rogers and Reginald Moore. I was told the difference in cost was after market vs genuine Nissan replacement parts. A full kit containing all of the parts sold to me for over $1,200 is available on Amazon for $122.60 including free shipping - this represents a 978% cost mark up - what a rip off! I was given a $200 "Customer Appeasement" Credit but this won't suffice. I paid by credit card and will dispute the payment, contact the AAA management team, and leave bad reviews on Yelp. read more

Had service at this location yesterday for an oil change with a coupon that I recieved in the mail. Excellent location and very clean and organized establishment. Was greeted when I entered the door and was quickly checked in. They have a very nice and cozy waiting area which offers complimentary coffee, water and computers with internet access. They also have a childrens area for play if you have kids. Total time took approximately a little over an hour since it was busy, I did not mind. My car takes sythetic oil, With the discount coupon of $29.95, total cost came to $42.62. Not bad at all. Pleasurable experience and I plan to use them again in the future. read more

I busted a tire on one of Atlanta's lovely roads. Rahmee Rogers was so helpful and I was able to get two new tires. One of the guys even took a look at my wiper blades after I mentioned that they were fairly new, but had stopped working well. He got them working better! I will definitely be going back soon for an alignment, and I will go there for any other repairs. They were super nice and gave great service. I've been a long time AAA roadside assistance fan. That said, my experience with the AAA Chastain Park Car Care Plus was nowhere near as good. In fact, it was completely dishonest. They straight up lied to me as what my car needed to run again. ***TL:DR - Took my car in because it didn't start. The shop kept it for a week even though it started after trying it a few times. I was told the car needed a new engine to run. They never told me it started even though that was the reason I brought it in. My car wouldn't start. I left if for a day and tried again and again. After a few days I finally called AAA on Feb 14th. I thought it might be the battery but I had it replaced less than a year before this instance. AAA roadside jump started it but that was no go. The gentleman, Damon, was very nice and professional and suggested that it could be electrical - possibly the relay or the fuel pump. He then asked where I would like it towed, just having moved here I asked for suggestions. He said "How about the AAA service center close by?" "Sure!" I said. I called them the following Monday morning to check to see if they had received the car and how long it would take to get back to me. They told me I would know on Thursday. Waited till Thursday, no call. I finally got the call on Friday from Craig and I was told after their diagnostic that cylinder #2 in my engine had low psi. (below 100psi) My engine needed replacement to run again. That was a crippling $5,700 cost to get my car running again. I was floored - the car has only 95k miles and ran well on a trip across the country and now suddenly it needs a new engine? No way! I told Craig I needed time to see if that amount of $$$ was worth putting into it which he said to take my time in making that decision. Nowhere in that call did he say that the car had been starting each and everyday they had it in the shop. I made various calls regarding the fate of the car to relatives (with car salesman experience) and ultimately decided to have the car towed to a service center Christian Brothers (also on Roswell Rd) to get a second opinion. I was called by the AAA service center on Feb 25th and asked what I wanted to do, I then payed the diagnostic fee and said that I would have the car towed the next day. I had a ride to the service center on the 26th to pick up the keys to give to the towing company. After the cashier passed me the receipt, Craig brought me the key and then I asked for the quote. I honestly wanted to see the breakdown. He said, "Oh, most people just throw it away." I then asked him about my car telling him some of the history and he pointed over to the mechanic (Tim) whom was just passing by and said "You can actually speak to him yourself!" That is when I found out that the car actually started each day. Tim told me that after a few tries the first day he swapped the spark plugs and checked other things it could've been but then he got it to start. So he let it sit for a day and tried it again. It started again. He told me that it was idling rough though and then took it for a test drive. "It was still running really rough," he said. After doing this song and dance for 4 days he finally ran the diagnostic and found the low pressure in the #2 cylinder. I was so confused, "IT STARTS? Why was I not told this on Friday last week?! I have a towing company on the way to tow a car that runs??" Mind you, every google search I did on a low firing cylinder said that the car should run/start but it would run pretty rough. They left out a VERY important piece of info that was the entire reason I brought it in!!! I was too confused to be furious though. I continued speaking with Tim who was a nice person throughout the exchange. I then called the towing company to cancel the tow. And proceeded to drive my car the 8.8 miles up the road to Christian Brothers Auto. The car ran FINE. No issues. I hard pressed on the gas a few times to see if the engine would struggle at higher speeds. Nope. It was FINE! They lied to me, straight up and down. I finally reached CB and left it over the weekend for a 2nd opinion. They called me back Monday asking the history and I told them everything that happened with AAA. Kevin told me he would gas it up every hour and see if it gives any trouble and that he would keep it till Tuesday. Tuesday comes, still idling fine. No issues and that it was likely electrical, wouldn't even waste my money for a diagnostic. So in summary, AAA left me thinking I needed to pay upwards of $5,700 to get my motor running leaving out the key detail that it already was running. If I had not asked Craig about this I would've had to pay for the tow and possibly a diagnostic at another shop or eat the $5,700 and still come across the same issue. AAA Chastain Park Car Care Plus was dishonest and is not to be trusted from the start. I want my money back for the ripoff diagnostic. This place shouldn't even have the AAA associated with it. Awful service. Took truck in for diagnostic then scheduled repair for the following week after they ordered correct parts. Took truck in to have AC repaired the following week on scheduled appointment with AAA, dropped off at 9AM and was told truck would be ready by 4PM, then received a call at 4pm letting me know that no work had been done bc they didn't have the correct tool to install. Was told on the phone that I was wrong that they didn't prepare well and then they hung up on me on next call. Picked up truck since they had done so poorly and AAA had drained all the freon out of the truck and didn't replace so now truck blows HOT air- which truck did not do this when dropped it off. Would not trust this location for actual repairs nor with average customer service. Pitiful. read more

I had an excellent experience out of an otherwise real inconvenience of my car breaking down on I-75 Atlanta. I placed my call with AAA and they took care of the rest. My tow truck driver and his partner were amazing. Tow driver called me immediately to identify himself and his estimated time of arrival. He also asked if I was in a relatively safe location for about 20 minutes, he was battling traffic as well. I was towed to AAA Chastain and met with Chris Janson. Chris also called me to make sure I was in a safe area and that he was expecting me at the shop. I have to add that AAA offered me other garages, but I went with this AAA garage since I'm new to Atalanta. Great choice. Chris took my info and explained the mechanics were at lunch. I gave him my husband's contact info and proceeded to UBER to work. They fixed my car and I picked it up after work. STRESS FREE. I have a place to take my car now that I trust and the local area is great to hang around if you wait for your car! read more

This is my first time using the Triple AAA at the Chastain Park location! I was extremely pleased with the service I received from them. The service advisor, James, was very customer oriented and got me in for a visit relatively quickly! I had a front end alignment done to my truck and I can say they use the latest technology to make sure the front end is aligned correctly. Also, there price was very fair and if I took it to a dealership, it would have been a lot more plus I would have to leave it with the dealership all day. Every time I've come here they provide a great service. John and some of the other guys there are fantastic and great with following up and offering a 5 star customer service experience. I have been there several times and never felt like they ever tried to take advantage of my lack of knowledge on cars or try to pressure me into buying something I didn't need which I have certainly experienced in other car care centres. Even when I had misunderstanding with them, they were extremely reasonable and understanding. I admire when a business is able to own up to a mistake, apologise and fix it. I drive a unique model and parts had to be shipped into the store. Unfortunately due to shipping delays I had to drop off my car on 2 different days, and it absolutely wasn't an issue at all... The reason, Roger, not only did he keep me updated along the way he went above and beyond to help me get to an important appointment via Uber. Car repair shops often have bad reputations but at AAA Chastain I feel completely comfortable with suggestions they make on repairs. Everyone seems respectful and upfront but Roger is definitely my go to guy. I give Roger a 10/10 for customer service. If I could rate it NO STARS I would. This facility should be reported to "investigative reports" as a story to the news as a total fraud!!!! EXTREMELY DISHONEST AND CROOKED!!! Do NOT go there. I've already reported them to the main AAA office. I called AAA to tow my 1998 Honda Accord after a hose broke at the Amtrak Train Station. I wanted them to tow it to my mechanic. The AAA agent talked me into taking it to this Chastain Car Care Plus location because "it's close and you'll get a 10% AAA discount. So I let them take it. They said they had to replace ALL the hoses and that the radiator leaked and that it would be a MINIMUM of $680. I said "NO!!!!" Then they told me I could not use my AAA Premium service to tow it to my personal mechanic without paying for it. I called the AAA main number and they said that is NOT TRUE! The service guy flat out lied!! AAA then towed it to my personal mechanic. He checked it ALL out, replaced the hose, checked the radiator for leaks... NO leaks! My shop fixed it all for less than $85. I called AAA corporate and chewed them out. I informed them that I will NEVER use their repair facilities again! I may even not renew my AAA Premium Membership that I've had for over ten years. VERY disappointed with AAA for this!! read more

New, immaculately clean, professional car repair location. Took my vehicle in immediately after the rear taillight gauge indicated that a bulb was out. I normally have my car serviced at Hennessey Lexus (who does a fantastic job, but is expensive and not right near where I was completing appointments in the field today), so I was not sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. They have a full travel services area for travel agency type services and maps, triptiks etc like you would imagine a AAA location would have, but the full service car repair segment of the business is what I am reviewing since they did an excellent job repairing my light situation quickly and cheaply. $14 for the diagnosis, bulb and installation in less than 25 minutes. Woot! There is a nice airy and light filled and comfortable waiting room with not only free wifi for your own devices with password posted for easy access, but they also have 3 computer workstations for those who wish to use them instead. I will happily be back to try more of their services in the future as the need arises. read more

My son's car was brought there following a coolant related issue. The car still started and ran. Following a "diagnostic" review, we were told the engine needed replacing. The repair estimate consisted of one line, with no break out of the costs (labor, materials, etc.). We were not provided an explanation of how the car could have started when it was brought in but now doesn't. Needless to say, we have taken the car elsewhere for service. read more

My wife and I went to AAA in Sandy Springs to get some international driving permits, since we are soon moving to Europe and, well, we're gonna need 'em. After an initial effort to sell us a membership (AAA offers great services that are likely very helpful to a great many people - but not so much to us, since we are on the cusp of leaving the USA), the front desk lady directed us to the appropriate section of the large, comfortable, professional space. We each filled out a simple form and provided our driver's licenses. We did not bring photos, so they took pictures of us using their own equipment. This cost $10 above the usual $15 fee. The lady assisting us then examined our driver's licenses and made the appropriate stamps in our international ones (mine includes class M, a separate stamp - and oh boy will it be fun to ride the Alps on my own bike happy happy). Total time: 15 minutes. Total cost: $50, with no pre-printed photos. Outcome: Two people with very nice international driver's licenses good for a whole year. Yay AAA! read more

Very clean and friendly facility. Waiting area was great/spacious --- even has a separate play area for those who have kids (I don't have kids but I'm sure my sister would appreciate it). I came in for a routine oil change. Once my car was checked, they came to me with "fix" recommendations --- power steering flush, coolant flush, etc. I really appreciated this part BECAUSE they didn't force these recommendations/additions in price on me. They simply said "IF you feel you'd like to add today". As a female, I usually get the "you HAVE to do this or else" speech from mechanics but AAA Chastain Park Car Care Plus employees were very fair and let me know the services I didn't HAVE to do at this time aka they're not after my money. With that type of experience, I'm planning on coming back to do the additional services for sure. Thanks AAA Chastain Park! As a 50+ year AAA member, I have been amazed at the wide array of services AAA offers that I have used over the years. When I call Mary Minnifield, Road Trips and Attractions, at the AAA Chastain Park location to let her know I'd like to come by and pick up a tour book and maps for an upcoming trip, she always has them ready for me! She's also notarized documents for me. In addition, one day when I came in because I needed her services, she noticed on my membership card that I had been a member for 50 years. She then told me about the increased benefits for 50 year members, which are amazing!, and updated my membership in their system to the 50 year membership category. This has not only saved me money on my annual membership, but it has also provided me with many other valuable benefits. Renee James, travel counselor, helped my husband plan several four-generation family cruises. She also coordinated the arrangements with family members who were spread out across four states. Each time, everyone seemed to enjoy the cruise. Whenever I've requested road service for a dead battery or a flat tire, the person assigned to help me arrived at approximately the time they said they would and completed the task to get me on my way within 30-40 minutes. Approximately 6-7 years ago when this AAA office moved a couple of blocks away, they added a Car Care Plus center. I initially went there to inquire if they offered free car service to take me home when I drop my car off and then pick me up when my car was ready. They told me yes. This has allowed me to drop my car off, get a ride back to work and get picked up when my car was ready without having to call a friend to do this. During these short rides, I have gotten to know Gary Cade, the Car Care Plus driver. I truly appreciate him and this service. Marion Brown, the AAA Car Care Plus manager, and Steve Williams, service advisor, have always listened to my car repair needs, have been transparent about how the car will be serviced or repaired, and have always provided the approximate cost before I sign off on the repairs. If anything changes while work is performed on my car, they call me to let me know. They also apply any and all repair discounts that I'm eligible for to my invoice. I am very comfortable asking them questions about my car and they are happy to provide easy-to-understand explanations. About a year or two ago I noticed the floors in the AAA Chastain Park Car Care Plus service and repair area were being washed. I inquired if they did this once a week. When I learned they do this every day, I now know why the repair area always looks so clean and good! While the staff and service at car care centers can vary, the people at the AAA Chastain Park Car Care Plus in Sandy Springs are good people. I feel like I am treated like they themselves would like to be treated. read more

Originally they did not have the battery in stock at his location. However he put me on hold an ensured he would call around to get the battery there. After a few minutes he return to the call and ask how long will it take for me to get there? I then proceeded to the location to get my car service. He was not only courteous on the phone but very vibrant spirit in person as well. He got me in/ out in less than 45 min with the best deal they could offer. He walked through services offered as a Member and the perks of auto service, the warranties etc. If you're ever in need of any automotive service consider this location. Do not go here! My car broke down this week after my light came on for "engine coolant temperature overheated" this week and I had it towed by AAA to here. Was given an $813 estimate unnecessarily!! Paid the $90 diagnostic fee, and had my car towed once again but to McCullough Auto Care for $280. All I needed was coolant and the water heater hose replaced. And I got an oil change! Aaa wanted to charge me $600 for labor and $200 for "parts" they "needed" to order. I had fixed the same day at McCullough, while AAA wanted to charge me to order parts I didn't need and replace everything! This place is a total scam, save your time and money and go to McCullough's on Roswell rd. This place is a total scam, and will completely try to rip you off. read more
