Needed an oil change and check on brakes since car has over 80K miles. We were totally expecting them to find $100s of dollars of repairs even if it didn't need it. Once again, we were completely impressed with this Firestone. For under $100 I got an oil change, tires rotated, brakes checked and new air filter. The staff is FANTASTIC and very timely. 3 days later (Sunday) I ran over a nail and had a completely flat tire. My husband wanted to just take it someplace close, but I insisted we put air in and take it to Firestone. They were very busy, but even without an appointment they had me fixed and out of there in under an hour. Got stranded due to alternator issues. Hd my car towed to this place because of ratings. 2 days later, they're charging me for battery replacement as well. I asked to get my battery which I installed in March of this year so basically it's fairly new. The guy in the phone said he'll make sure it'll be on the back of the car. When I arrived to pickup, they couldn't show me the battery. I was looking for the one I talked to on the phone and they said he's out for the day. I really didn't want to pay for the new battery since I believe my battery was still good and they couldn't even show me the battery they replaced. read more

Better to make an appointment then walk in. Fixed a tire pretty quickly. Free WiFi so was able to work during my appointment. Used their free air the day before. Was a little put off by how dirty the place is. Including the restroom. I get that it's a car maintenance place but some simple regular cleaning could be a great improvement. read more

These are good people to deal with. Highly recommend. We were traveling and needed a large bolt tightened on our hitch that required an impact wrench. They did it with no charge. That was last year. This year we came here again to camp. Had a blow out on trailer on the way. So naturally we went to this store for a new tire. Once again excellent service. read more

I have taken my car here several times and have always had a great experience. They are always super friendly and will work with me to make sure I'm not spending a lot of money for things I don't need. I went here last week around 530 and was a little desperate to get my car fixed before they closed as I was heading out of town. They promised they would make it happen and actually stayed an extra 20 minutes AFTER they closed to finish up! That is great customer service! read more

I have taken my car to this location for 5 years..although, at times, it has been rather expensive, I have usually had great service. I took my Jeep last year and was told I needed all new spark plugs and other maintenance which cost me around $500. It did not fix the issue that I brought it in for. I was hesitant to go back bc I didn't want to be ripped off again, but yesterday, I needed a new battery, tires and an oil change. Once they looked at my Jeep, they noticed a more serious issue. Of course, this issue wasn't something that they could fix, but they recommended me to a couple of local shops. My experience was so pleasant yesterday. This place is awesome. Very friendly staff! I came the day before Thanksgiving needing a quick oil change. Despite having 9 people in the waiting area, they had me in and out in 30 minutes. It's recently been remodeled so it's clean and bright. They have coupons online which make their services affordable. I will be back again and again. read more

They were done within a couple hours, despite having a full garage. They called me about other minor issues, rather than just fixing things without my approval. I had requested an appointment online for Sunday at 4pm. I received an email thanking me for my request including the time and location. I never received another email- so I was under the impression that was my scheduled time. I drove over at 3:30 to be early. After waiting in the empty front lobby for 15 minutes, a woman finally came in. I told her I had made an appointment online for 4 o'clock and I was here to drop off my car to have the tire fixed. Her response was she does not have any 4 o'clock appointments and just because I made it online doesn't mean I was on their books. The woman was so rude and acted as if I was inconveniencing her because I came in in the last hour. She told me there were six other cars in front of me and I could drop my car off, but I probably wouldn't be seen today. I tried to show her the email that I received with the time and date but she really didn't care. She turned me away and at that point there was no way I was dropping my car off with them to be seen the next day. Instead of apologizing and trying to accommodate me, the woman was rude as hell. I immediately called the Folly Road location, who I have dealt with in the past, and explained the situation. The man told me they had 4 cars to finish before 5pm, but because of the situation they would accommodate me. They were so kind and were very understanding and told me to come on in and they would make sure I would be seen before closing time. The Folly Road location made sure to fix the mistake of another garage and was sure to provide outstanding customer service - unlike Sam Rittenburg. I suggest if you go to Firestone, you drive the extra 15 minutes to James Island and go to the Folly Rd location. read more

Sorriest shop I'm existance.after work today I went with a friend to get his oil changed at the Firestone located on Sam rittenberg. After leaving this so called "shop", my friend noticed the oil pressure light came on within minutes. At this point we checked under the hood to find not only that they forgot to put the oil cap back on, but after draining the oil they forgot to add oil back in his vehicle. It really takes a special kind of person to screw up something as simple as an oil change. Angry about my friends truck, but entertained by the fact that they let such incompetent people touch something as complex as a car. read more

I took my car in for an oil change and because my tire light was on and I wanted them to read the pressure. They had a very nice clean front desk area with a great waiting area that included a Keurig! The staff was very helpful and super nice. They were able get everything done for me and figured out why my tire light was on. This location was much more efficient in seeing me than other Firestone locations that I have been to in the past. I will definitely be taking all of my cars needs to this store to get any maintenance done that comes up in the future. I would recommend this store to anyone who needs car care! read more

My 2010 LEXUS RX350, with over 194k miles, the A/Cfinally died. I took it straight to Firestone Auto Care on Sam Rittenberg Blvd. Derrick, the manager, set it up for troubleshooting the problems. They ended up, having to keep my car for about 2 1/2 days, because it involved removing the entire front console and the center console to repair. On the 3rd day, picked up my SUV, A/C working good. The next morning, the A/C did not work, and my music was jumping from AM, FM, BT, CD, and satelite radio, very randomly. Called Derrick, brought my SUV in the very next day. They looked it over, and were having trouble with the electrical junction boxes. Derrick picked me up at my job, drove to Enterprise rentals and rented me an SUV. 5 days later, my car is fixed and Derrick took care of the rental bill. I was very shocked they would do that. This morning was my third time visiting this store. Previously, I had visited to get two new tires. They were actually closed for renovations, but when I explained I needed new tires, the associate was glad to receive me, and the service took less than an hour. I had been experiencing battery problems over the last week, and originally decided to go to another company. However, I was not well-received over the phone, and remembered that Firestone was a complete auto care place. I called them, and they said bring the car in, and they would run a free check. I arrived at 743am, Josh was working; he was the nice man that had helped me on my two previous trips. By 822am, I was paying and out the door. Henceforth, this will be the only place I visit for auto care needs. Josh and Jason (and the redhead tech, who is always so helpful, too) were More than accommodating. They are always so polite (Frank is, too by the way!). They have toys for my young daughter to play with, and that is a lifesaver! I have recommended my own customers to this store, and Jason confirmed that they did indeed come to get a tire put on! At this point, I really have only nice things to say about this location, and I will definitely continue to do business with you!! Everyone else's service pales in comparison to yours! If you are a female in distress RUN away from this place!!!! My car battery light came on and it eventually died. I called Firestone to see if they worked on batteries and alternators and he said yes. I had to get it towed to Firestone on Sam Rittenberg Blvd and that was probably my first mistake letting them see that the car was inoperable. They called and quoted me a price of $772.37 and said that I needed both a battery and a alternator. I told the guy that I had a credit at a local auto parts store and asked if I could bring a new battery to them trying to save the $179.99 that they was charging me for the battery. He said that they couldn't do any work on the car until they had the battery onsite. Well fine. I told him to just install the battery. When I got the detailed bill I saw that they charged me $50 to install the battery, $38.70 to tighten battery terminals (which was unnecessary) and $21.99 just to check the old battery, which I thought that battery checks were free. They knew I had no other options without having to pay another tow bill and they really socked it to me. DON'T GO HERE!!!!!! UNSCRUPULOUS BUSINESS PRACTICES. read more

I will preface with the statement that I have had previously had good results with this location. However, that was then, this is now. I took my car in for an oil change. After they were finishing up, they informed me that my oil pan was leaking and needed a new gasket. This is not a service they provide. So now I'm going to take it to another garage and essentially have my OIL. CHANGED. AGAIN. I almost never review places but after a double-whammy this week with my car, I need to share the excellent service I received from the West Ashley Firestone. We are a military family (husband is deployed), and my two young sons and I moved to town on Thursday. On Friday, our (admittedly old) car suddenly and drastically overheated. We called a tow truck (whole different debacle) and they took it to Firestone, where we were put in the care of Mike and Frank (and probably others). From the start, they were friendly, courteous, and helpful. They provided updates and did what they could to expedite repairs. The first repair was completed ahead of schedule... fast forward, oh, 6 hours: clutch starts sticking and then stops engaging altogether. Another tow... but the guys at Firestone hit the phones looking for the right replacement part, kept me in the loop, and were SO FRIENDLY and helpful. They made a really miserable situation slightly better and I am so, so grateful for their professionalism, their compassion, and their skill. I can't recommend this Firestone enough. Don't let them touch your car. They replaced the belts on my Subaru. I went to refill my windshield washer fluid only to find the reservoir was not put back in the car. Additionally, there were two cables coming out of the fuse box which were not attached to anything. Stay away, far away read more
