I had seen the great comments on Next Door and on my local Facebook page and wanted to support a local business. I called and made a next day appointment for an oil change, tire rotation and state inspection. There is plenty of parking in the front and back of the building. I arrived a little early and dropped off my car. Note there are several places within walking distance should you wish to drop off you car and eat at Waffle House or there is a Mexican place not too far away as well. We took our time at lunch and when we came back the car was almost ready, done well before I expected. There is a waiting room with a few chairs there and the place was clean. The front desk attendant was nice and friendly as well as thorough with what was performed on my car. I thought the bill was just right for the services they performed. Would definitely go back. I've been coming to Hevenors for many years. The reason I am so faithful is that when I first moved to Virginia I needed some work on my truck brakes. Being new to the area, I went to a National business called "Pep Boys". They quoted me a price of several hundred dollars. My sister-in-law said to get a price from Hevenors. I did, and they quoted me a price FAR less than Pep Boys. It turns out all I needed was to have my brake cylinders "turned", NOT totally replaced. I've been coming here ever since!! read more

Claimed they couldn't get the lug nuts off. When I routinely rotate my tires my self and have no problems. I wanted an alignment and a tire balancing and they didn't do either. Tried them a second time to give them a second chance and they failed again. "Didn't want to mess up my wheels" to swap a set of tires I had. Upon arrival to pick up my keys and not received any work for the second time it took them 30 minutes to find my keys. Other than inspection I can't recommend any work due to the simplicity of things I was asking to be done. read more

Hevener's is our new go-to shop! I've taken our cars here for their last couple of oil changes and they've done a fast, thorough job with those. Recently, the engine starting knocking in my SUV. My husband took a look under the hood and saw that there was a wobble in the water pump pulley. He took off the tire and found that the bearings were shot, so a replacement was definitely needed. They quoted us $800 on the phone, which is pretty standard when you look up prices for a new water pump plus labor for my vehicle. We dropped it off in the evening and by 4pm the next day, they called to say it was ready and the price was $100 less than they quoted! Heveners is first class in my book. I bought a new set of tires for my SUV from Heveners prior to going on a cross country trip. Once on the open road I noticed a vibration between 63 and 72 mph in the driver's seat and floor board (no steering wheel shimmy). While in Abilene, Kansas, I took the vehicle to a tire dealership where it was checked thoroughly. The tire people in Abilene told me they couldn't get two tires to run true and suggested taking the SUV back to Heveners when I got back to Chesterfield. Upon returning the vehicle to Heveners it was all first class service. They did whatever they needed to do to make me happy with the tires. This is a very well run family business. I went in today to have an oil change and was out in thirty minutes. One does need an appointment. The owner was there to make sure everything ran smoothly. I love this place, the staff is wonderful. I have never felt like I couldn't take the car in myself or they would take advantage of me. I have done simple things like inspections, oil changes and tires rotations. I have had belts and brakes replaced. Used to go here a lot but not so much anymore. They inspected a vehicle of mine in which I made sure everything was perfect before I took it in. I usually do 90% of my own work on my vehicles unless I dont have time with busy schedules. Well they came back and said that they had to replace some lights on my car that were burnt out and charged me like $40 for it. They showed me the bulbs and they didnt even go to my car! Another time I dropped a truck off to get a tire repaired. Went to pick it up and tire was flat. They did fix it correctly the second time. Luckily I live close. Had some other misc. work done there prior that was fine and decent going rate prices. Had them also misdiagnose some problems as well. So the place is hit or miss. Mostly a bunch of young bucks working there so maybe they just dont care or smoe have no idea what they are doing? HIT OR MISS read more

I am from the Tidewater area of Virginia and was camping with my family at the local State Park when I experienced catastrophic engine failure of my truck. Needless to say we were like fish out of water stranded 100 miles from home.We had the truck towed to Heveners. Steve determined that the engine was beyond cost effective repair.Not only did Heveners assess the damage, they allowed the truck to stay on their property until towing could be arranged, which took 7 days. They assisted in coordinating the tow with the driver as we were not there. They did all this at NO cost to us and nothing but a can do postive attitude. I dont believe God ever gives me more than I can handle but without Heveners and a few other key individuals Im not sure how we would have managed.
