I came across Kweleme Mobile Mechanic in doing search for a mobile mechanic and after reading all the positive reviews decided to give him a call. I was in quite the dilemma. I work downtown and park in a parking deck and one day when I went to leave work my car wouldn't start, the starter died and needed to be replaced. Since my car was now trapped on the basement level of the parking deck I tried to reach out to numerous tow truck companies who all told me that there was no way they could get it out because the only kind of truck they had was a roll back and that a tire lift tow truck would be the only type of truck that could get me out. After continuing my search I was able to locate a tire lift truck. The truck arrived and was able to fit in the deck but once we got to my car, much to my surprise, I learned that my car was all-wheel drive thus not able to be towed by a tire lift tow truck. It was suggested that I find a mobile mechanic, which lead me to Malcolm the mechanic for Kweleme Mobile Mechanic. After speaking with him on the phone he told me that he would be able to fix my car the next day and that all I would need to do is go buy the part that I needed and even gave me the name of an auto parts store that would be affordable. The next day Malcolm arrived at my parking deck and within a short period of time was able to get me starter changed. Throughout the whole process he stayed in touch with me via cell phone calls to inform me of his progress. In conclusion, Malcolm was extremely professional and helpful and his prices are very reasonable. It was less expensive than taking it to the dealership or probably the neighborhood mechanic I typically take it to. I will contact him again to do work for me when I need it. My car broke down at 6pm on a Friday night. Luckily the bearing in my drive shaft didn't fall out until I pulled into the Wawa off S. Airport rd. I Googled mobile mechanic in Richmond and this guys business pulled up. I called him and explained the problem and he diagnosed it over the phone and told me it would be $175 for labor and $150 for the parts. I agreed and he told me that he would meet me at 10am the next morning at my house. While I was waiting for the tow truck he came to my location without me asking in order to ensure that he would purchase the correct parts where he informed me that the parts would be only $75 as opposed to the original $150! He didn't have to do that. I had already agreed on the $150. He also didn't have to come out to where I was at 6:30 on a Friday night. I was already impressed. The next morning he called me at 9:30 to confirm our 10am meeting at which time I told him that I would be ready at 10:10am. I turned the corner to meet him at exactly 10:10am as he was pulling up. I was once again impressed. He then started working on my car right outside my house and finished replacing the bearings in my driveshaft in 30 minutes! The cost was exactly what he said. Top recommendation for Malcolm. He did an outstanding job while being extremely professional, polite, and conscientious. Further, he squeezed my job into his schedule to get me back on the road ASAP, and his cost for labor was *very* reasonable. My starter died on a 2007 Honda Civic at a restaurant at 9 PM on a Friday night. I contacted Malcolm via email and received a return phone call from him at 11 PM. Malcolm scheduled the starter installation at noon Saturday and instructed me to pick up a replacement starter Saturday morning. He told me that this was a tough job because of the location of the starter (the reason I didn't do the job myself), but his quote was incredibly reasonable, especially because I didn't need to pay for a tow and didn't have to wait until Monday to have an overpriced shop do the job. He called at 10:30 AM Saturday to confirm and then again at 11:30 AM to let me know he was on his way. Towing was going to cost a comparable amount to the labor of the fix, and even if I tapped the starter to get it going no one was open on the weekend. THIS MAN IS A GOD SEND! I was stranded in Richmond with car trouble and I took it to a shop that told me I would need to spend $300+ on the repair. Being a broke college student, I decided to forgo the repair, but I was terrified to risk driving the 3 hours back home without it being fixed. I called Malcolm and he immediately put me at ease. We simply could not have asked for better service!!!! My sister came from out of State to visit for the weekend and was supposed to return home yesterday. When her car wouldn't start even after charging the battery I called him and he squeezed us in for first thing Monday morning even with it raining. He was very polite & professional as well as being diligent in his work to figure out what the issue was. After trying the alternator and the starter, he determined she needed a new battery. Great affordable service and knowledgeable mechanic! After a bad experience at another body shop in Richmond, it was refreshing to find someone that came to me. Malcom replaced the right lower control arm, bushings, and ball joint on my 03 BMW 325 xi. When I first called him he was out of town so we scheduled something the first Tuesday when he got back. I had first purchased the wrong part so we ended up rescheduling again for that Friday. He finished the job quickly and at a reasonable price. He also spotted and showed me another problem with my CV joint on that same side which clearly needed to be replaced.
