My mom went in there for an oil change and in result her car is now leaking oil. We went back so they can fix it but SOLOMON who was at the front desk had an attitude and was overall disrespectful and very dismissive. Solomon finally told us that they will take another look at it and a guy named John was supposed to call back and as we walk outside out of frustration he decided to holler the word NIGG**. This is not the place to take your car especially if you are black. It's been 5 days and my mom's car is still sitting in the same spot. Awful place and horrible service. In the pictures it's oil leaking from my mom's car onto the sidewalk. I called Firestone to buy 2 tires because I had a blowout on the interstate. I got a price quote for the tires immediately and when I arrived Spencer double checked and found a better deal for me . Spencer and his team are great at what they do! They are super professional and customer service minded. E love them and will continue taking all of our cars there for service. They are honest and dependable and you can trust them which say a lot if you are a woman because typically mechanics tend to take advantage when you don't know, but this is never a concern with this store. I've been going to this Firestone location for almost 20 years and they have always treated me well. After some bad experiences with the Huntsville location, I was weary of visiting another Firestone. Word of advice though, since Covid, they have been slammed, so use the appontment feature to make sure they can get to you in a decent amount of time. read more

Back in October of 2021 I took my truck to this location since my family had an account with them with a warranty on tires. I had a tpms sensor come off on my front passenger tire causing a horrible shake. After waiting a couple of hours they said they fixed the tpms but advised me to go to the dealership that they are unable to reset it, that was fine and understandable. Then I was told that the tire wasn't under warranty on that visit and I had to pay full cost. After speaking with a manager I was informed that they would waive the tire cost and just prorate the tpms service. I walked out laying under $100... fast forward to May 14th when I'm going down the interstate and my truck starts this horrible shake coming from the front passenger tire again. I go to the nearest shop to me in Birmingham and they take the tire off in front of me to discover the tpms banding broke yet again, because it was zip ties holding it on that Firestone had done in October of 2021. I had to pay out of pocket for it again, plus the price of a new tire where it gashed the inner tire wall. I called Firestone to explain the discovery, the new GM Jake was just surprised as me, offered to refund my expense at the other tire shop, I applaud him for that but honestly want no further interaction with Firestone and won't be going back there... it's honestly out of my way with the price of fuel and just not worth the trouble. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else that chooses to go there. read more

I had an unexpected flat tire when leaving work the other day. It was about 6 pm so all of the auto places that were near by were closed. Except for firestone, they were open till 7. I swooped in and talked to one of the employees to find out if the tire could be repaired or if a new one was needed. At this point, it was 20 minutes before they closed but they took me anyway and were able to throw a tire on quickly for me also while helping me find the most affordable tire. I appreciated the availability and fast service that firestone in Gardendale provided me. Would highly recommend. read more

I'm in the area from Texas house hunting and my Ford Flex starts to shake at freeway speed. I conduct some internet research and it points to the CV/ Axle going bad. I take it to John at Firestone, explain the problem, and he and his crew conduct an inspection in order to confirm or deny my diagnosis. Turns out it was the CV/ Axle as well as lower bushing being worn. At no point did I ever feel that the Gardendale Firestone crew try to provide extra unnecessary services. They also provided some insight on the local area to assist in my house hunting adventures. Great crew, great service, and got me back in the road in less than 24 hours. 5 stars, I've found a shop that I will use when my family and I relocate to the area this summer... read more

I called on a Friday morning to see about getting a brake job. They said to bring it in for an inspection, but they gave me a rough estimate over the phone to let me know what to expect. (It was in line with what an average brake job is supposed to cost.) After I brought it in, it took them about 15 minutes to tell me what work needed to be done. It was almost $60 below the rough estimate. Also, I was able to use an online coupon. (They always have deals going.) They said it would take about an hour and 45 minutes. It was ready in one hour. Even with them needing to replace a belt, it was still about $60 under the estimate...The staff was fast and friendly. John and Christa took care of me, and I highly recommend them... Plenty of places in walking distance to eat, shop, etc. if you need to wait...They inspected everything so I would know what I might want to take care of further down the road, but they emphasized what needed to be fixed today. This is auto repair work, at a reasonable price, that you can trust. read more

I took my car here last July for a problem with a relay to my fuel pump and they claimed they put a new catylic converter and replaced both front axles on it. I got it back after 2500$ or so and the car was still stopping on me and I went to work the next Monday & it fell apart on the interstate transmission fluid all over the road and the bottom just fell out. Well they paid the towing and my rental car & supposedly replaced the right axle bc they forgot to put on an adapter. Well here it is less than a year later my car is vibrating very bad & got a new wheel bearing on drivers side & find out my axle is bad on that side so I recommend they stick with tires & oil changes bc their mechanics don't know what they are doing plus the relay that I came in there to begin with never even got touched so I had to get someone else to fix that & it was no parts just a little time to clean the connections... go figure it was free. I need to get tires & pep boys will get my business!!! read more
