I had requested a state inspection here for the first time. Unfortunately, the techs doing the inspections failed my car for a brake pad but passed emissions, however, they didn't add the sticker to the car. Instead, they went home for the day, without calling me & left my car in the garage. I called at 6:20pm to figure out the status of my car & was told they didn't finish it up & asked if they could call me in the morning. I said ok, then realized they were trying to keep my car overnight, and walked over to retrieve it. The man at the front desk was kind & actually informed me of the things wrong on my car, added some oil to it & checked me out. Unfortunately, I had to bring the car back to get the emission sticker which I was told would only be a few minutes. Well, i once again was waiting for an hour before they let me leave. The tech parked my car right in front of the door & i sat there waiting for them to call me over for what must've been 5-10 minutes. After they called me over they informed me that I need a brake pad, explained the state requirement & then said id need brakes & rotors in the future. They also said I have an exhaust leak, which is just a flange on the rear pipe. I informed them we already ordered brakes & rotors and that we were repairing the leak ourselves & they still sent me a work up of how much it would be for them to do this, $2000. Insane pricing! Thankfully, we can do it ourselves. Then because of the bad experience I had, they offered me a free oil change but I informed them we do those ourselves too. Nothing else was offered. If the retest wasn't free, id avoid going back here. read more

I know everyone loves to hate on car repair shops so I write this review with some trepidation. Car repair is no fun--especially when you are without your wheels. It is also rarely cheap beyond a basic oil change. My significant other has been using this location for over 20 years and is very satisfied with how she is treated and pricing (for the most part). Since moving to Harrisburg 2 years ago it has been my go-to for "in-patient" car work and state inspection since they are walking distance from home and the staff has always been friendly--even after a recent ownership/management change. Hours are also convenient as they are open every day. I'll recount two experiences. First, they patched a tire for me--one with over 40k miles on it. That could have been a prime opportunity to push me toward a new tire but they simply patched it (and quickly). I had serious engine and emissions issues with another car several years ago and was provided several repair options. I don't hesitate to use them. Note thst they are usually very busy as one of the few larger shops in downtown Harrisburg. Also--they don't seem to use the online appointment system so you'll probably need to pick up the phone for an appointment. Prices are pretty consistent with other chain repair shops from what I've experienced. Perhaps not the cheapest but you can't beat the convenience if you are in downtown Harrisburg. read more

My friend recommended this shop and I was hesitant at first, because I usually take my car to the dealership. But after a little coaching I came in for a oil change and a brake job. The staff was very helpful and friendly, provided me with a quote and got me in on my schedule. Overall I'm very happy so far with my experience. read more

I went in for a quote on a brake job and was very happy until it was explained that there would be a one hundred dollar charge for flushing the brake fluid. because when you expose brake fluid to air it loses viscosity wtf smdh why lose a customer with such BS I guess that was the test to check my knowledge I guess I'll have to do the job myself read more

Brought my car in to replace the brakes and rotors. The main reason I chose this place was for the convenience and the price. The customer service was friendly and my car was taken care of in a reasonable amount of time. Great job, and no complaints here. Will have to consider them in the near future. read more

Their connection to a national company is the only complaint I have. The employees here are friendly and the location is certainly convenient, but I find that they try to tell you of other service your car may "need," when in fact it is not necessary at all. That said, if you are clear that you are only there for one thing (like an oil change), they won't badger you. I have not taken my car here for any major repairs. read more

Ladies if don't know about cars do not come here. They will take advantage of you!!!!Terrible!!! Worst place to go, all the shops in this area charge $35-$40 for inspection these guys charge $75. Also had my a bill of $190 for a lightbuld and headlight switch. then to top it off I had paid them $1000 to fix my ac /still don't work. And paid for the service.... also didn't get both of inspection stickers after they charged me for the work to "make it pass" ($1000mentioned )inspection the car was never fixed and I never got my inspection done John is a joke .. to add. My car needed to get new struts. I was on vacation for a week and asked them if they could fix it the day after I come back. I called to confirm my appointment and they informed me that by appointment was the Wednesday before this one even though I communicated to them that I would be on vacation during that time. I then asked when is the next time I can come in and they reassured me that I can drop it off after hours and they will finish it first thing in the morning so I can get to work on time. That morning it was not finished as promised and I had to scramble to arrange transportation to get to work in time. The mechanic did explain that they were running into issues with replacing the strut which is understandable but they could have called me to inform me of this as soon as possible. Also, before I left for vacation they already tried to replace the strut but could not due to other issues. I have run into several other issues with them previously about finishing my car on time. I understand that things might come up and they might not be able to complete things by the time customers need them but I wish they would be more transparent about when your vehicle will actually be done not just based off of what your own ideal timeframe is this way customers can make prior arrangements if they don't have somewhere to be. Other than that, all of the employees there are very friendly and always super helpful. read more

I'm not a big fan of these franchise car service places, they're pretty good at ripping you off but this branch gets *** from me cause of their honesty by letting me know beforehand that they won't be able to do a good job on the transmission flush and I'm better off taking it to Bobby Rahal for example. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. What I LOVE is how convenient it is to anyone who lives and/or works in downtown Harrisburg. That is the main reason I come here. I've brought my car here twice - once for its routine annual inspection, and once for an oil change. I was wary of coming here at first because of how large chains like these can get you to purchase services you don't need. Both times I was here, the staff did recommend additional services to me, but was very clear they weren't necessary. When I had my car inspected, they let me know which items were absolutely necessary in order to have my car inspected, and which were optional and not necessary for the inspection, and didn't hound me when I said no to the optional items. Their service is prompt and seems thorough. Two things I don't like: While they may not pressure you into getting services you don't need, they do push a little too hard to try to get you to sign up for a credit card, in my experience. Both times, they gave me the pitch and continued to give me the pitch even after I politely explained that while the benefits seem great (and they really do), I have a lot of student loans and would prefer not to open another credit card. The other thing is, when I was calling around for prices for an oil change, the nice gentleman I spoke to on the phone told me if someone else beat Firestone's price, he'd match it. Well, someone did beat it, so I called back to say so, and instead of polite acceptance, the gentleman grilled me on the details, and basically said I could have just made up a price so I could get a discount. He eventually did come down in price and I had no further problems, but I think it's rude and bad form to imply a customer might be lying or making something up. read more

Yesterday I brought my car in for a routine warranty tire rotation. I checked my tire pressure in each tire before I brought it in. I noticed that one of the tires was much lower than the others, so when I spoke to the service person, I asked her to make sure the tire pressure in each tire was checked, and to ensure that the tires were inflated properly. I was assured that would be the case. After the rotation was done, as I drove away, it seemed to me that the tires did not seems right. When I got home, I measured the pressure in each, and I found the tires were NOT inflated properly. They were the same as before. In fact, the tire that was low in the front before was now in the rear after the rotation and exactly the same low pressure as before I took it in. Bottom line is they rotated the tires but did NOT check or equalize the tire pressure at all. Bad! read more

Went to them for years on state inspections due to initial convenience. Last year was the first time my check engine light came on and needed a little extra work to pass inspection. To keep it simple, i went through over a month and a half series of awful customer service from multiple appointments to saying they didn't have time to do the work my car was there for due to someone incorrectly scheduling me (...EVERY TIME), someone already leaving for the day even though my car was dropped off early morning every time, and/or a litany of other excuses as to why they didn't do their job. All i needed was front new tires and engine light process check. The engine light took about 5 appointments which they basically did nothing because they were too busy or dropped the ball. By the time they finally did the check correctly and charged me to fix things that didn't fix the problem, i paid for the state waiver pass, not because i didn't want the problem truly fixed, but because i wouldn't take my car there another day and deal with them, let alone my car was past my month of legal inspection because they couldn't do their job. I made sure they knew that it was the worst experience ever and that i would never bring my car to them again... Beware, they may be good for simple things, but they'll be happy to screw around with you and make the as process long and strenuous as possible. Never again... read more

Dropped my car off to get an oil change and tire rotation. They called me and told me that my air filter was dirty and should be replaced and also told me my license plate lights were out and I declined because it would be cheaper for me to do it myself. I got home and checked to see how "dirty" my filter was and if my license plate bulbs were out and they both were in great, working condition. And also they didn't clean up their mess when pouring oil into my car. read more

Everyone is spot on about them giving you a laundry list of items that are "recommended"... But TELLING you something is in DIRE need of being done - and then me taking it to my regular mechanic (who was booked initially but then had an opening) and finding out that was NOT the case is absolute bull. They actually said to me on the phone "I don't mean to put the fear of God into you, but this needs done ASAP.." AND what we took it there for in the first place - was diagnosed correctly - but when the quote for parts and labor was given to me, and then to my husband on a separate call - we got two different sets of information - from the SAME guy. And when our regular mechanic was able to do the job (that actually was needed) for less than HALF of what these guys wanted to charge - that's when I decided to voice my opinion in a review. If you're taking your car here for a simple oil change - because it's conveniently close to your work - that is fine. Just don't let them talk you into anything else. The guys that talk to you on the phone seem like salesmen - not mechanics. read more

This past week I needed some maintenance work on my car. Although I thought I was taking good care of my car, the guys gave it a good looking over and found that there were several things I had neglected to have done. Rich sat down with me and explained everything I needed to have done and then gave me a pamphlet to take home and review later. These guys are the best. They are so patient and kind especially with those of us that are not familiar with the auto repair "lingo". They made me feel as though I could ask any question and they had the answer. I've never had a problem here. They are very straight forward and easy to deal with. As others have noted, they always give you a laundry list of possible maintenance needed. You just need to be smart enough not to say, "Yeah, do it all." Take out a Firestone credit card and you automatically always get their sale prices on oil changes. Lowest around! No coupon necessary. Tires are rotated free with an oil change, even if you didn't buy them from Firestone. read more

Wow just wow, u know that feeling when u walk into a body shop/mechanic shop, you feel you're going to get taken advantage of?, well not this place. I had just bought a car and dropped my oil cap on the engine block, freaking out bc I bought it at an auction and I live 16 hours from their location. We called and instantly they calmed me down explaining to me that most likely they will find the cap!! Brought it in and was met by Morgan at the front desk along aide Doug I believe Jesse was there as well at the front. I was a wreck. Morgan told me that if they find it , it would b $10. I was blown away about that alone, my girlfriend and I took a walk Bc we were nervous they wouldn't find it. Came back to our surprise and excitement to find that Trevor had found our oil filler cap!! Gave Trevor a hug was so happy. Went into the shop to look under the car Bc their was oil underneath, they without asking cleaned it all up, again blown away, at this point all I owed was $10. Jesse Trevor and Morgan pointed out a bubble in my right front tire. We would not have made it to Florida with this issue. I have never been to a shop where I didn't feel taken advantage of let alone feeling like I was in a place where they truly care and take care of their customers. They calmed me down, we're insanely accommodating and amazing customer service. I wish this shop was in Florida. I'm sitting here waiting for my tires and Morgan just said I have better news " we r qualified for a 15% discount. The day just got better. This place is the best! read more
