Called yesterday for a 0700 appt for oil change & rotation. Came in this morning for my appt - the service guy smiled and said, "Oh, you must be ...." Told me it would take an hour and there was complimentary coffee. I sat in the lounge because Ken & Ziggy's wasn't open yet. He called me out in 1 hour and asked me if I wanted to get my tires aligned also. I got the lifetime alignment $170 (had a $10 coupon) - usually it's @ $80-90 for single alignment. At the end, I was given a clear receipt with all charges. Overall, I was happy with the service and I was given an expected time for completion. What I've noticed with FIRESTONE in general is that it's very important to have a scheduled appt time. When they work you in, it can take the whole day - I have a Infiniti G35 that gets serviced here also - and has the lifetime alignment. I have enjoyed FIRESTONE authorized centers and hope you will get a good experience too. read more

Ive been going to this place for over 15 years and they dont appreciate it. Maybe they had a change in management. I had almost 1k of work done yesterday and Stephanie told me that she would not charge me for the $100 diagnostics. When I spoke with her she back tracked and told me I had to do all the work reccomendation in order for them to waive the 100 diagnostic fee. I have been to other shops and they charge when you have it repaired. I had bad experience with them 3 years ago and gave them a chance and continued to have my vechicle oil change and other minor work. Yesterday during diagnostic, they discovered a master cylinder cap missing. I informed her they were the last ones to work on my car when i had my oil changed 3 moths ago which probably the cause of my low oil pressure in the first place. DO NOT GO HERE. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. I took my car in because there was a screw in one of the tires. I dropped the car off and left to run some errands. They told me it would take 45 mins to fix. I got a call about an hour later telling me I needed to get my tire replaced because the screw was stuck on the side of the tire and they wouldn't be able to remove it. The guy I spoke to started quoting me for getting all 4 of my tires replaced. Please keep in mind that my car is BRAND NEW and came with NEW tires less than 6 months ago. I asked the guy if my other tires really needed to be replaced, and he's like "oh no...". WTF - why are you trying to convince me to purchase 4 tires then?! Finally, I agree to getting the one tire replaced. He said it would take another 45 mins. My boyfriend and I are trying to pass time by roaming around the mall and get back to the shop about an hour later. One of the other women there tell me the guy I spoke to has left and they don't even have the tire yet!!!! What?!? Apparently they ordered the tire from another shop and it hadn't come in yet. At this point I was annoyed and frustrated, so I asked for my car keys so I could get out of there. Fast forward to the next day, I go to Discount Tire in West University. The guy legit removes the screw in front of me with his hands and says there's no damage to my tire. He said all my tires are in great condition and I have nothing to worry about. Thank god this Firestone is so unorganized that they didn't replace my good condition tire in the two hours I was waiting. NEVER going there again. I went in for a small noise in my suspension. I told the receptionist i recently replaced my shocks. I got a call back that evening (5 hours later) telling me they could not get the parts without first asking me if i wanted the job done. The next day, they tell me I needed to replace my shocks and springs, balance my wheels, plus i had a leak that needed to be fixed. How much? about $1000. I insisted it was not the shocks as they were practically new. I ended up only getting my wheels balanced. The next weekend, i took my car to a different shop to get a 2nd opinion. The 2nd shop fixed my problem for free as it was only a loose bolt. WTF? Don't go here unless you want half your car replaced. read more

Here's what we went in for: oil change, state inspection, and to have them fix alignment because the car was pulling way to the right when driving. Here's what happened: -Dropped off car at 1145. We were told they were backed up and would be ready around 3. -Received a call around 1pm: they claim the license plate light bulb is out and needs to be replaced to pass inspection. "How much is it," we ask. "$3 for the bulb and $30 for the labor," we are told. Wtf!? But seeing as either way we are gonna be charged for the inspection (pass or fail) we do it anyway. -We get a call at 3:15 saying car is ready. We go to pick it up and on the drive home, find that after paying $60 for tire alignment, the car STILL pulls to the right. And I'm talking, I let go of the wheel and I can change lanes in less than 2 seconds!!! Before freaking out, I check all tire pressures- all good and tires were just rotated two days before. Then I freak out! -We head back to the shop to talk to the mechanic. He seems a bit hurried in his conversation with us. (hmph!) He states that its all aligned perfectly based on the number and the machine. But apparently he didn't even bother to test drive the car after aligning the wheels to make sure! Again- WTF?! -He then adds more air the the front tires thinking that's the problem and asks US to test drive it and see if that fixes it. Knowing it still won't, we drive it around and come right back to now talk to the manager. And by now I'm ready to fuss! -The service manager now test drives the car with us and gives us his take on the problem and says he'll get it fixed right away. So now its 5:00 and we are waiting to have the car RE-re-aligned! -He comes back about 15 minutes later stating he redid it and the car drove straight for him. We thank him and head back home. And on the drive back, (although a little better) the car still veers to the right! ARGH!! -We go back in, talk to the manager, and are told he would be happy to take another look, but that he just put on another car to the realignment machine... it might be a little bit. He offers for us to come back the next day and he will inform the manager working that day. Tried and frustrated, we opt to come back the next day... The following morning, we are there bright and early. We speak to the manager, and yes he was informed of the issue and was ready for us. He's nice and courteous, and takes the car back right away. Less than 30 mins later, he's back and asks us to drive it around and see if its better. Low and behold, IT IS!!! THANK THE LORD!!! We thank him and go on our way. So after 20 hours, we FINALLY have a car that will drive straight. The only reason this place even gets 2 stars in my book is for the helpful managers and the front desk associate. The mangers were never once rude or short with us, and the front desk associate was very courteous and helpful! But as far as getting the job done right the first time, that would be a negative. And will we ever go back? That would be a big fat HELL NO! read more

Thanks to the glowing reviews from Karen I decided to check this place out, as I was in need of an oil change and my inspection was expired. My first attempt to drop my car off I called the place around 3 to ask if I would be able to be serviced after work around 5 that afternoon. I asked if I should head there a few minutes before or possibly make an appointment. I was told that I'd be fine and to just come on over when I am able. I arrived right at 5, as I had left the office around 10 minutes early, only to be turned away. They said they would not have time to service my car that afternoon. They then convinced me to make an appointment for the next day @ 11 am. I was a bit annoyed, but stuff happens. I arrive at 11 am the next day and drop off my car. I then walk across the street to Jersey Mike's and have a sandwich. 30 minutes later, as I am walking back over to Firestone, I notice my car is still sitting there where I parked it. I asked the clerk "What's the point of making an appointment if my car is going to sit there for 30 minutes?" She said that 1 hr 15 mins was how long they had allotted and that it would get done in that time frame, and that he was about to start and it wouldn't take that long. I needed to return to work promptly, so this was quite annoying. If it wouldn't take that long then why do they give 1 hr 15 mins? For laziness and slow work? After 1 hr 35 mins my car was ready to go. The service on the car seems good, but what do I know... I'm more worried about getting in and out promptly, as I was the only person waiting for my car and didn't have all day. I booked an appointment for 9am on Sunday morning (right at opening) with plans on being the first person there and getting in and out. When I arrived at 8:45am, there was already a customer inside :( oh poo! The door was locked, but one of the workers let me in and got me all set up. He informed me I was second, but that it wouldn't take more than a few hours. That wasn't a big deal since I was prepared with my laptop and work to do to keep busy. I went in because my car wouldn't start without a jump off so I wanted to get my battery replaced. Well what do you know! My battery was fine, but I needed about $1500 worth of other repairs. The worker wasn't super pushy as I've experienced before, but he did notice I had a Firestone credit card and tried to persuade me put the charges on the card instead of my debit card. I don't know if they get some type of incentive for credit card purchases or what, but he tried really hard. I ended up getting a new battery, despite his recommendation, because I didn't want to risk my car cutting off, even though he showed me the test report saying my battery was good. I don't need my car cutting off when I'm out with the kids. I'd rather spend the money and not have to worry about it. The workers were very nice helpful. I'm completely clueless when it comes to cars, and they really took the time to explain everything to me and use analogies so I could understand everything. I was in and out in a little over two hours. I will note that I don't recommend taking children with you unless they will actually sit down quietly and wait with you. The waiting area isn't separated, and there isn't anything for them to do. There's a television and wifi though so if they will sit for hours at a time and be okay, it's fine. read more

Where do I begin? I scheduled an online appointment this week for an oil change. Now we all know when we go in for one thing, they always find 10 other things that "need fixing". While my car was getting the oil service, I was called up to talk about tires. I said cool get me a quote and that was it. I go up to pay, the guy tells me that my total comes out to over $150. I said why, he said well they ordered some part. I said ok, why didn't you guys ask for my approval prior to proceeding. He said "well you spoke to Sean when you scheduled your appointment". A. Idk who Sean is. B. I made my appointment online and didn't speak to anyone prior to that regarding the service C. Even IF I spoke to anyone prior to arrival, you should always DOUBLE check with the customer. At the end of the day, I believe that any extra parts or work that needs to be done, it's NECESSARY to get the customers approval. Of course I know my car takes synthetic oil and is usually more expensive than the average but I have NEVER paid $166 for an oil change. After all my fuss, I received $30 off and the manager, Roberts, card. I will never return to this location. read more

I've had them fix a flat for one of my tire and I noticed after I left they charged me $3 for a part I already had on my car. They just gave me a new one...Did I ask for a new one and be charged $3 dollars for it?? NOO!! Why couldn't they just put my old one back on?? It's just my stupid tire cap!! Came here again to change a tire because I damaged it hitting a curb. They told me I would have to leave it overnight but it would be ready by 8am. So I agreed. It's official. I am the duchess of the highest volume Firestone in this region (a title that I'm not sure I want but I am a check-in fool!!). I'm sure someone will have worse luck with their vehicle than I have had... Please? I started taking a previous vehicle here over a year ago. There is a major difference between independently owned Firestone's and the conglomerate, in my (right) opinion. It's called - service, quality of work, and stock. All of the above have been excellent in comparison to what I have experienced at other locations. They are effective in communication (updating with issues, pick up times, working with third party authorizations), timely with their work, and have never been anything but totally professional. If I were to name everybody who had been totally above and beyond, this review would be longer than usual.. But today Saul (assuming a service advisor) personally helped me with checking all four tire pressures when I explained a chronic problem. An easy solution would have just been to add air and bam, this gal is out! But I'm here, drafting this review as they diagnose what is really going on in a continually rogue deflated tire. Bottom line: like a doctors office, they can't help you if you can't describe what the symptoms of your ailing car are... Ignore the nay-sayers and give this thriving business a chance. When I got back in my car lights came on that weren't on before. They quoted me like $800! I took it to a friends trusted place and they said a fuse had been removed and another was burned out. Arrived today at 8:30am, first oil change on my used 2016 Toyota Corolla. My Owners manual told me to change at 10,000 miles. However, since I just got the car in October with barely 2500 miles, it was at the point of reaching 5000 today. Therefore I decided to go in and just start fresh as I didn't know how long that oil had been in the car. I already expected that I was going to need a synthetic oil change. And the gentlemen helping me, Tomas, was very informative in telling me that's what I was going to need based on the make and model. He knew from their computer system that I had basic oil changes in the past because of my previous car which was a 2004 Toyota Corolla model. He politely asked me how much I normally paid for those prior oil changes, and I replied with an estimate of $35-40. He basically just wanted me to know it was going to cost me more now because I need synthetic oil. This was my first time at this particular firestone, I used to use the one closer to my house when I lived on the east side of town. Since I moved to the galleria area I've been going to a mom and pop shop for my oil changes and car repairs on my 04' model. Now that I got a new vehicle I knew I would be saving a little more with those handy coupons they have on their website. Side note I'm also a part-time uber driver. So I know I'll be needing oil changes more frequently then I had before. The oil change was ~$75, I was able to use either the website coupon or my uber perks discount. It basically brought the price down to $63. While I waited I walked down to the galleria and did some shopping then walked back. Very convenient location if you need to get an oil change and do some Christmas shopping!! By the time I walked back they called me and told me it was ready. I will definitely return! For the reviewers who mentioned that firestone told them they need synthetic oil changes, but claimed to have basic model vehicles...Maybe you should read your manual. If you don't want to take their recommendation which is pretty much based off a computer system with all years, makes and models then don't and go somewhere else. But good luck to your vehicle. Called in a couple of days a go for oil change for today's noon. They said it would be done by 01.30PM or 02.00PM. Dropped off the car at 11.30AM. Came to pick up the car at 02.10PM. Car was not ready until 02.37PM. Oil change for 3.5 hours is not reasonable. Oil smudges were found everywhere in the Benz interior. This branch has many negative reviews. Fortunately, some are being rectified. The question is why does it have to wait until someone put a negative review online. Learn from the lessons. Improve your branch. Train your people. Have kick off meeting every mornings. Stop hurting and losing customers. p.s. we love this location and hope to be able to come in without worrying of possible disappointment. read more

I purchased tires from TireRack.com and had them shipped to this Firestone location to have them mounted to my wheels. A seemingly short and inexpensive job turned into 3 hours and the cost had quadrupled from what I was expecting. The technician working on my car had stripped 8 of the aluminum lug nuts and messed up 3 wheel studs taking the wheels off my car. They blamed my lug nuts for being "cheap", and they blamed the last person to put my wheels on saying they must've over torqued or cross-threaded the lug nuts. The problem with this is that I've owned this car for over 2 years and have had the wheels taken off and put on many times, including by myself, without ever having a single problem from these lug nuts. These wheels come off many times for track/autocross use and the maintenece associated with these events. These problems resulted in me being charged for labor for the broken wheel studs in addition to the tire mounting I came in for, which effectively quadrupled the original estimated cost and tripled the time spent in the store. A few day later I was contacted by someone whom I assume to be the manager of this location. He apologized and offered to buy me some new lug nuts. I showed up the next day to have the new lug nuts installed free of charge, and for that I am grateful. For this reason, I leave a 2-star rating instead of a 1-star. However, as grateful for the lugnuts as I am, I still paid 4 times what I was initially expecting during my visit. It is doubtful that I will ever return to this location ever again. read more

Took my truck here to fix my door lock adapter after someone tried to steal my truck. In the process they also checked all my fuses because the potential theives had been in my fuse box. When I picked my truck up I immediately noticed my AC was not working, but when I dropped it off it was. The manager told me that it was not their fault and they would have to replace the AC control module for $700. Took it to Mac Haik Chevrolet Service Center instead and they found that my AC fuse was missing and some fuses were in the wrong place and were able to get the AC working without replacing the module. Seems a little fishy to me that Firestone did not find this and instead said I need the module replaced. I do not recommend taking your vehicle here for anything other than oil changes or tire issues. They do not take responsibility for their mistakes and will try to get you to spend more money on parts that you do not need. Take it to a Chevy certified dealer instead, you will be much better off. read more

I'm about to have my baby in 2 weeks. I came here to make sure everything with my car was up to date and safe to drive. Oil change, check on tires, refill liquids and windshield wipers. they told me 1 hour. Decided to leave for lunch and come back. Nearly 2 hours later my car was still parked in the front. I waited an additional 30 mins for the oil change. I even reminded the guy about the other stuff I wanted done and he reassured me everything would be done and apologized for forgetting about my car. Come to find out.... after driving away..... the only thing they did was change my oil... they didn't refill my fluids or check my tires. Don't come here. Maybe because I'm a woman, who knows. This is where I go for all my car trouble needs. I am car illeterate and very broke. I have gone to two other auto places in the Galleria area, both places where lacking in customer service. I ended up in Firestone and I was amazed that mechanics could actually talk to you and explain what it going on with your car without treating you like an idiot. All the times that I have gone to Firestone the people there explain exactally what I need to get done and tailor the cost of the repair to what I can afford. The last time I had gone in my brakes, roters, and cylinder was shot. The manager worked it out to fit the cost with in my budget. I wont go to anyone else with my car. read more

DISCLAIMER: This review is LONG overdue! I've been visiting this location (almost) exclusively for over 7 years. Admittedly, as hard as it is each time to come crawling back after attempting to use a "luxury specialist", I've returned each time asking for forgiveness and for them to correct/complete the work I paid alternatives to do, and each time, the crew at this Firestone humbly obliges. Jonathan is a super-star, and judging by other reviews, others share that opinion. He and David (their Euro specialist) always remember me by name, shake my hand, help me laugh off my troubles, and get the job done right and for a great price. Every time. I've sent friends over the years who have returned to me singing their accolades. We also use them for our second car, for which they also consistently perform. Don't be fooled by the "specialists", never could I have imagined Firestone would be the go-to for our vehicles. It only took one visit (and VERY few attempted alternatives) to establish Firestone Galleria as our vehicles' primary care provider. read more

Took my car in for an alignment after I blew a tire out. Not only did they not have the tire in stock like they said and it took over 4 hours but I had to come back for another alignment. After taking it back they told me the oil needed to be changed and the battery was bad. The car is 2 years old, less than 20k miles, and just got an oil change. When I got the car I realized the steering wheel was obviously crooked. Took the car to the Honda service center and confirmed the alignment wasn't done right, the oil was fine, and battery tested great. I will never go back again. This is my first time experiencing a shady service center who breaks things to make you pay for it. read more

I have been taking my cars to this Firestone for 6 years. The staff have always been very helpful and honest about repairs that my car needs, and have actually told me when work is unnecessary. The one time that they thought they had repaired something but it wasn't actually fixed (some "check engine" code that could have meant a few different things), I took the car back and they fixed it with no additional charge. I trust these guys, especially Jonathan (the shop head). He has always been honest with me. This location is always busy, so I usually plan to drop off my car and go hang out at the mall for a couple of hours. read more

I had a great experience at this Firestone last week. I first went to the Voss location trying to get a nail out of my tire. I waited for 2 hours and I had to leave to pick my son up from daycare. They went ahead and charged me then told me they didn't fix my tire because it was unrepairable. He went on to say he didn't have a way to give me a refund and to come back tomorrow. I left pretty upset, picked my son up from daycare, and decided to try the Firestone Galleria. It was pretty late, almost 6 pm but we went by and this location turned my whole day around. I explained the what had happened and Gilmar, the associate listened and welcomed me in. He took care of the problem completely. He was upfront and honest about repairing the tire, mentioned I may need a new one, but they would assess the situation and make sure it was safe to repair. Jerald was the technician who worked on it. My son and I only had to wait a minimal time and they fixed the tire, didn't charge me, and made me feel like a valued customer.
