I've used Firestone for decades. Turnover used to be a problem. Brandon Thorpe, the regional manager, has done a terrific-job recruiting, training and placing the finest techs I've run across over the years on Noland Road and this 23rd St. Location. I just had a state-inspection; bought 4 new tires; received an alignment, oil-change and new sway-bars. When you NEED repairs, there is never good news ANYWHERE. At least these people are honest about telling what you need now and later...in a friendly manner that comes across as believable and honest. I've had great conversations with the manager, Wyatt...and, especially, Tristan (both who could be CEO's of any auto-service-agency)...plus Dave and Lilly, who are very efficient scheduling work. So let's see, I came into the shop, requested my A/C to be fixed. It was dropped off. Next day, they tell me it's ready. I pay, get my keys, review the receipt. They tell me it has a low battery. Battery was recently replaced. So I open the car up. First thing I notice is, glovebox open, lights are all on inside the car, while it's off... it's slowly draining my battery. No wonder it's low battery! How long were all lights on? I don't know! Still discourteous. I start the car. Okay, now for my A/C and heating... it's on, running, but only window heating is workin. Everything else is not functioning. They said we can drop it off, then we'll get another checklist! Overall, I asked for one main thing to be done and it's half finished. Service, service, service !! I cant say enough about the service I recurve on my most recent visit to Firestone. First I'll start with the recommendation of booking your appointment online. For me it made the process even more seamless. Upon my arrival I was greeted, we discussed review of my vehicle and my thoughts on what may be wrong. I decided to leave my car while I headed back to work and within about an hour I received a call with updates. Received a text that my vehicle was ready at the expected time and upon my arrival I was greater by a gentleman who was very personable. horrible I drove my 2014 equinox in to find out about a wheel making noise and they tell me there's nothing wrong with my car at all no anything all was a worn motor mount and a terminal cable broke so I let them fix that $800 and they told me it's ready to come pick it up. Every light on the dash is on the car about to fall apart and of course I had to leave it another day for them to do a diagnostic well now all the sudden from the time they test drove and everything was fine and parked for me to pick it up. Made an online appointment to get my car alignment done. I also got an internet coupon for a discounted price. I arrived and the service attendant got me started right away. I explained to him I forgot my printed coupon but showed him my email and he honored the discount. I waited for the service to be completed in the lobby. I've taken both of my cars there in the past month for service. The people I have dealt with have been polite, responsive, made suggestions, and I had an overall great experience. They repaired both of my cars in a timely manner and they were reasonable in their rates. I've not had any issues with the cars since being repaired so I am satisfied with the work they performed. I take my car here even though I live closer to the Noland Road one. They are friendly and excellent at the work they perform. They try to get you in and out but with most companies post COVID staffing is an issue. Try to drop the car off if you can. Just remember a recommendation for work is not necessarily a must do. read more

I visited the store in Independence and was trying to get my run flat tire patched because it had a screw in it. I originally bought the tires from Firestone. The employee immediately told me the run flat could not be patched without even looking at the tire. Then he quoted me 4 brand new tires without offering me any other options. During that conversation he rudely looked at my boyfriend and asked him "Does she always have that look on her face? It looks like she is waiting for me to tell her a lie?" I was very caught off guard and offended. Then he asked "Does she fly around corners going 80 and hit every pot hole?" "Run flats on a Corolla? That's a first!" I then went to another tire shop and got my run flat tire patched for FREE. This type of customer service of being talked down to and humiliated is truly uncalled for in any business, therefore I will no longer be a Firestone customer because of this. read more

Made an appoint two days prior, showed up on time for my appointment, told me it'd be a two hour wait....thanks for wasting my time

This facility really needs to be gone. I made an appointment for an inspection for today. When I took the car in they had nothing scheduled for today. I was told it would be a 3 1/2 hr wait, to get it in. This Firestone store pushes hard to get customers to leave their car. I don't trust this store with the car out of my site. Last year I scheduled for a different car inspection and basically the same thing. Took the car in at the scheduled time. It set outsider for over 30 min past the time. They finally drove it into a bay. The hood was opened and then nothing for over 20 minutes. Occasionally someone would walk up to it a do a little bit then leave. This went on for over an hour. When they finally closed the hood and moved it out side I had to wait almost 20 more minutes for my ticket to be produced so I could pay and leave. While I was waiting for over 2 1/2 hours, I talked to a guy that had his car in for a water pump replacement. The same with his car, they worked a little then who know what they were doing. He told me his bill for that replacement was almost $900. I could not believe the charge. A $80 pump at a parts store and $820 to put it on. Someone got ripped. It wasn't even one of these compact , impossible to work on cars. It was an old Buick with a standard engine. Similar thing happened to me on my Volvo inspection . The failed it because of the tires. Immediately with advising me of the failed inspection, the presented me with an estimate to replace the tires. Over $500 dollars. I went to a different inspection place, the car passed with no problem and that was that except I paid these scammers $12 to try and rip me off. A few months later I replace all the tires at Sears at a total cost of $380 which included an alignment. To Answer your question, I kept going back there because they are at the DMV location. I definately watch them every second. No More though, I don't care how far I have to drive. read more

Was out of town when my vehicle died on the side of the road. Was towed to this establishment. Adam quoted me $1225 to replace a timing belt. Not a timing belt component kit mind you with the water pump, tensioners, idlers, seals, pulleys, belt covers, etc., all the things that might make sense to replace while you're that shoulder deep in the engine anyway. This was just to change the belt! Ended up having my car towed 135 miles back to my hometown and got the belt (and all the rest above) replaced for $450 by my local mechanic. Came out much better than I would have at Firestone even after paying the nearly $400 towing bill to get it home! My suspicion is that they were trying to stick it to me because I was from out of town and between the proverbial rock and hard place but maybe their prices are just that much over the top for all those that would be their customers? read more

We tried this location after many failed attempts by other tire dealers to get our tires balanced on our personal use truck. James and the crew got it done on the first try. Subsequently, we began taking our fleet vehicles from our business for service. Each and every time we have gotten the vehicles back quickly and fixed right the first time for the agreed price. They have performed numerous repairs including suspension work, engine diagnosis, headlight lense repair, water pump replacement, radiator replacement, among other general work. I would give this less than a 1 star if that was an option! I called to make an appointment to get my car inspected. I was told that even with an appointment it could take up to 2 hours! As soon as I hung up I realized I could not make it for the next day and immediately called right back and changed the appointment to the following day....or so I thought. When my husband showed up for the appointment we were told that it had not been moved and they still had it down for the original time. I will say that last year when we took my husband's car in we did not have a good experience. We showed up to have his car inspected at the appointed time and they took it back and opened it up. There it sat for over an hour while they worked on other cars. This is why it can take 2 hours for a simple state car inspection, because they will pull in other cars that have a higher dollar amount repair. The tire I purchased immediately started going flat after installation. It obviously had a small puncture when I got it. Since I didn't buy the extended warranty they wouldn't do anything about it for less than $20. Best case scenario is that they just don't care about their customers. Worst case is that they are intentionally selling faulty products in order to get repair business for themselves. Either way, never again. read more

My breaking was sketchy so i took it to Firestone. They told me it was an on board computer problem and i would need 2 chips, $1,700. I took it somewhere else, they replaced the master brake cylinder for $250, problem solved. They're either stupid or scammers. Don't ever go there. read more
