Huge shoutout to Precision for taking care of my AC the DAY my car's extended warranty expired! I noticed my AC was weak the day before and realized I had a day left in my warranty, so I called them up and they told me to bring it in in the morning. I dropped it off first thing, they called shortly after to let me know that it was indeed my compressor but that the warranty company was being difficult so he recommended I call and give them hell because he was ready to make the repair immediately! After a quick call to the warranty company, I got the claim approved and Precision fixed it all up and had my car ready by the end of the day. Thank god they were on the list of partner auto shops for my warranty repairs! They were SO easy to work with and I am so grateful I didn't have to shell out a thousand bucks because they were able to squeeze me in so last minute. I scheduled a wheel alignment and oil change for my car. I included that my check engine light is on and wanted to know what it the reason when I scheduled the appointment online. The wheel alignment was paid upfront so when I dropped the keys off in the overnight drop box I asked for them to provide me with the oil change pricing before preforming the service so I knew how much money I would be out of pocket. I was shocked to be told that I was charged $75 to tell me the reason for the check engine light. That cost was never disclosed upfront and no where online did it indicate that you would be charged for that. Building and restoring cars has always been part of my life and has been my main source of income since I left the army in 2016. I have worked for Mark in the past, and I send him my customs and sometimes my own vehicles when I'm in a jam. Well, I was in a jam, so I brought a truck in that I have been restoring. I told them it would crank but not start and to diagnose ONLY THAT ISSUE THEN CALL ME. When I got a call, I was told the ONLY ISSUES were a bad starter solenoid, and the pcv was unplugged. Which took 2 hours to diagnose. Yes, a fender mounted starter solenoid took them 2 hours to diagnose. Once I had arrived, somehow my list grew, almost like they knew 2 hours for diag was a joke. Every excuse was used like they had to push the truck inside, yet it was 75° and sunny. Remember, I worked here, and I worked in the parking lot, rain, snow, or shine. On top of that, diagnosing a small oil and coolant leak HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT NOT STARTING. They simply realized I knew they were trying to screw me over, so they just threw whatever they could on my list. Including replacing my brand NEW aftermarket $15 negative terminal with a garbage $6 terminal. The "wires being bound in colomn" is completely made up, seeing how the only wires that runs up are for the turn signal, cruise control and horn. The PVC was never disconnected, I imagine they meant EGR which has been deleted. Finally, I was given a discount of $130 an hour. But let's do that math to find the price that it should have been! 1 hour diag at $160, .3 hour starter solenoid install is $53 Starter solenoid $35 plus 10% tax equals $272.80, not $340.58. I don't argue. Instead, I will post this story to Google, Yelp, and all social media platforms, including YouTube, and let the people decide. If you ask me my professional opinion, THIS PLACE IS A JOKE, AND THE HYPOCRISY IN EVERY EXCUSE IS LAUGHABLE. If you have had service done here, ask a tech, machanic, or a REAL service writer from a different shop if the prices given make sense. read more

I used to go to precision all the time because they were fair and honest and told me what I needed at a good price. I don't know if the management has changed, but it is currently being run with the absolute worst customer service.They did my brakes and roters and 6 months later they were warped. Tried to get me to pay for them again and told me that it's normal wear and tear or caused by driving habits. When I found the receipt, then their story changed and oh now it's the faulty parts that they've been having problems with that they never mentioned before. They were not apologetic or kind in any interaction, even in front of my daughter who said wow they sure were rude. I have referred people to this business. I will no longer be taking any of my cars there and will tell people to go elsewhere. I feel they were trying to take advantage of me as a woman and treat me with disrespect. read more

I guess my original review somehow got deleted. Here goes again. We don't know who actually worked on my car but it wasn't fixed and I was charged ALOT of money for nothing. ($300 to me is alot of money for car repair that did absolutely nothing). Darryl should have just said at the beginning that he (I never saw an actual bonafide mechanic working on it and Darryl had said he wasn't a mechanic) didn't know how to fix it and I could have gone on. Instead had to wait all day for nothing. Also Darryl admitted to changing brakes on a car because they were shorthanded and he is not a mechanic! YIKES! I went here for a/c and headlight issues. Darryl was GREAT to work with. He is responsive and professional. He called before doing any costly repairs, and worked with my warranty. I had to pay out of pocket for headlight issue, but he got my a/c replaced under warranty same day. I find when on time for an appointment, things go smoothly there. He also knows his stuff. Terrible car repair! Kept my car all day and changed the final repair price twice with different excuses but finally told ready to pick up at the end of the day but after driving around guess what it still wasn't working and had same exact problem. Went back and lo and behold the shop manager at this location now says it is something else. So what will it be tomorrow??? This is the same guy who said he wasn't a mechanic but he admitted to doing a brake job on another car "because we are short staffed". Is he the one that tried to "fix our car"???? I recently realized my AC wasn't working after I got off of work this morning and didn't know who to call because I am not from the Shawnee area. I ended up calling Precision and they had said I can come by and get a service done on it. They checked to make sure it was the right service for my car before continuing with anything. I appreciate that the most because places I have gone to prior just start working on things that I am not aware of or did not approve of, so then I am paying for services I never asked for. Mechanic said he gave our appointment away as we came in 10 minutes late... when I'm reality he overbooked and didn't have room in his shop for another car. Place reeked like marijuana Update after DARYLs response There was no other patrons in the shop. If we want to be technical it was 12 minutes late when I checked after arguing him that it was barely even ten minutes. The attendant simply was lazy and unprofessional. Maybe it was the marijuana. Good luck to your business Daryl. The weather was bad and if coming in ten minutes late ruins a two week old booking, you're company is pretty strict. Good luck once again Daryl. I'm a little disappointed. A year after having my headlights restored they are actually worse than last time. I'm told it's because they did not use a UV activated clear coat to seal the headlight. Aesthetically the front of my car looks horrible, so I am going to get them redone today at Sam's Club. They do the same service for $29 and it includes the UV activated clear coat and a 5 year warranty. I also noticed a 1" x 2" scratch from what looks like the sanding tool going too far and hitting the front side panel behind the headlight. I am still happy with the customer service I received at the location, I just expected it to last longer and the job to be a little tidier (sp?). read more

For anyone who knows me, an automotive care facility would seem an odd choice for my first step as a yelper lady. I simply had such an outstanding experience, I was ready to shout their praises from my roooftop. However, I was informed by my condo's groundskeeper that I am not allowed roof access. So yelp it is. I'm a kind of OMGSHOES girl, so my general auto care is not always at the front of my thinking ways. So big ups to groupon for reminding me that cars need oil to stay happy and not blown up. I redeemed mine the day before a road trip, with less than two hours to get to work. Because time management is my forte. The first thing they did right was put Rick up front. He's incredibly friendly, attentive, and pretty in a not obnoxious way. He assured me that he could get me in and out and back to work with a happy car. AND HE DID. I'm not accustomed to auto places keeping such promises. They did a terrific job, and even gave me extra wiper blades, as mine weren't old enough to be replaced yet. The waiting room was immaculate. No oil cans or greasy wrenches laying around. A cooler with bottled water kept me happy, and they had one of those little Keurig things. There are big windows that look into the garage, which I appreciated. I could see when my car made it in there, and the progression of the tune up. It alleviated my panic to get to work. There are tons of oil change joints from my home to this place. But I'll be returning here in February, or when I hit 16000mi. Whichever comes first read more

Went in for a simple oil change, they rotated my tires, while placing my tires back on to my vehicle they DID NOT tighten my lug nuts what's so ever, but simple just set them back into place and returned my car to me. My car could have been seriously damaged, I could have been injured if my tires were to fall off while driving. Thankfully I noticed the issue with my car after driving for a while and had to tighten them on the side of the road, I called to complain about what happened and they did not seem to care at all. I highly recommend NOT paying this company to care for your car as they are clearly negligent to their work and do not care to make up for their mistakes. read more

The Shawnee location on Nieman road was friendly, honest and did a good job in a timely manner. My Allignment was way off and they were able to fix it in under an hour. While I waited I observed a number of quality interactions between staff and costumers. I definitely recommend them. read more

Really great service. I am not from this area and had bought a groupon to use when I made a trip to the violin shop that was near by. I hadn't thought to call ahead and when I showed up they said usually walk-ins can get in that day, but they were booked until Monday. (This is the Friday schools get off for spring break by the way). The receptionist was really nice and asked me if I came in because of a groupon and where I was from and if I wanted to schedule something. When she found out I was from a ways out of town, she asked me if I didn't mind waiting, checked out in the garage, and managed to still get me in that day. I did wait a bit, but the receptionist was also able to direct me to some near by shops in walking distance when I asked. They also were not pushy about extra stuff and gave me a list of things they recommend I get checked out at some point that weren't major but I might want to get taken care of. Overall, very pleased with their service and would recommend them to anyone. read more

I was told the earliest they could change oil in my car is in 12 days. I purchased an oil change coupon, I think they are overselling it. The coupon I purchased did not say making an appointment is the only option, nor did it say I would need to wait a prolonged period of time for a basic oil change. I have not heard of any other place not being able to do a basic oil change in 10 or less days. read more

I have used several different mechanics in the Shawnee/ Overland Park area in my 16+ years living here. I just ran across Precision Tune Auto Care, kind of by accident, about a year ago. I was actually stopping in randomly to ask them to take a look at my tires. I had just been told I needed ALL new tires after replacing one due to a nail at another mechanic. I couldn't believe it as I had replaced them less than a year before! They had a wonderful opportunity to sell me something I didn't need and didn't know me from Jack---however, they didn't. They showed me the tread and said they didn't understand or agree with the recommendation. They scored with me there and I returned for my upcoming oil change. I'm a married female, but married to a guy who isn't at all car savvy so I truly appreciate a good, honest, down to earth mechanic. I have since returned with a couple other odd things going on in my van that could have equaled a large amount of money and they have fixed it simply at a pretty low cost or told me it didn't need fixed (I smile as I type). Angel is often at the front desk and he is my fave! He is super friendly both in person and over the phone and goes above and beyond to help me out. Precision Tune should be honored to have him as an employee. He recently got my battery replaced, that was still in warranty, even though the place I bought it had told me it wasn't the battery and left me bewildered! THAT rocked!! Easiest purchase and install of a set of tires I've ever had. Price was the best in the Metro!!

I was calling around for estimates on the price to replace an air intake hose on a 2007 Mazda6 with a V6...They quoted me $220 for the part and said "your particular vehicle entails a lot of labor to replace this particular part, so we're including 3 hours of labor in your estimate which brings the total to $537.24." The Mazda dealer in my area, which is not where I bought the car from, quoted me $25 for installation, $122 for the part and installation. Another place in Olathe, KS- Diamonds Auto, said this part takes 30 minutes to replace and it'd be $92.00 plus tax. Just wanted to warn anyone thinking about going to Precision to call around and get quotes!! They seem to be extremely overpriced and they lied about how long it takes to replace a tube!! read more
