Terrible service. I needed some suspension and steering work done on my Kia, They told me it would cost me around $1300 to repair including parts and labor. I went to pep boys where I found out it only would cOst me 700 and I also found out he lied about my control arm having damage when isnt true. Driving down McArthur I noticed my car over heating. Female driver, not a car buff so I saw Firestone! Knew they were open so I pulled in. It was 6:15p. Parked, went into the lobby, told the red headed female cashier, "my car over heated I am hoping I can get someone to look at it"! She said, "not tonight we're closing"! If you want to leave it over night we can look at it in the morning. Mind you IM STRANDED and clueless! I could Uber home or got a tow I was just looking for some help instead of hearing "were closing"! I asked her if someone could just look under my hood and see if I needed water or if a hose busted? Ok, there's nothing but one star reviews on here and believe me, it stopped me for the longest time from going here for anything. It's a very convenient place for me to go to since I live right behind them but my fellow Yelpers warned me to take my business elsewhere, which I did for a year and a half. But finally, I had delayed my safety inspection long enough and my pile of to do list was running way too long for me to not take advantage of the fact that I can drop the car, walk home, and take the other car to do 5-6 other things while first car is being worked on. For the sake of my time management, I came to this place. The guy upfront was pretty nice and it was 5 minute transaction. They got my oil change and safety done in 45 mins and I was done. I went for Labor Day special Oil Change plus car care on 08/26/2017. I waited long. 10:15 am to 12:30 pm despite appointment. Back home, I decided to do a spot check, find out that: 1. Air tire pressure is low 2. Washer fluid is very low (they never topped off), 3. Coolant is not topped off. 4. They told front light bulb is not working. I tested under the hood - its working I am concerned if they even did my oil change, tire rotation etc or just sent me off like that. I am not car expert and thats why I blindly trust Firestone, but now I am very concerned on integrity of Firestone as a brand. My previous oil change was also done at this very locations and now I am worried have they ever done my oil changes??? :( :~. I needed a new car battery, so I went to this Firestone location first thing in the morning at 7 am when they opened. The nice woman at the service desk said it was going to take about 2 hours to complete the installation because they only had one mechanic at the moment because the other three failed to show up that morning. I did not expect it to take that long and was worried about making it to a work conference in Richardson by 8:30 am. I asked if they could at least jump start my car so that I can go to a Firestone in Richardson so that I'd be closer to the conference. After the one mechanic jumped my battery, I stayed in my car for a few minutes looking up a Richardson location on Google Maps. Shortly after, the mechanic came back to my car and said he could get the job done in 30 minutes. I felt instant relief! I went back inside and the service desk woman said she explained my situation to the mechanic and was able to take care of the installation quickly. January 17, 2017 I went to this Firestone location close to my job today to get a state inspection for my 2015 vehicle. The printed paper that the state provides says I passed the emissions and safety portion of my state inspection, however, they failed me because they said that I "needed" 3 tires, the (sales rep) told me that they could pass me if I purchased at least 1 tire at a whopping $265.00. I took my car to another tire shop 5 miles down the road and my car passed inspection without a gimmick to strong arm customers to additional and outrageous purchases, when their cars actually pass inspections. Something must be done about this. What average customer have or want to put up to $1000.00 on their credit cards so these guys can make a dirty commission!?! I lost my $25.00 inspection fee, because I had to pay another $25.00 at the other certified state inspection location because I knew that my 2015 car should have passed inspection. I had just got an oil change where they checked my tires last week, there was no mention of needing tires. By the way, one of the workers sat in the lobby with me watching TV instead of doing the inspection that came in after me, she was also on her lunch break. He would only get up to do something toward her inspection between commercials. January 19, 2017 Adding to my experience: I changed my rating from one star to three. Being a professional in process improvement, I believe there are some broken processes, but easily resolvable. This Firestone location is the best! I purchased two new tires from Walmart for the front of my car, had them installed somewhere else, and my steering wheel vibrated like crazy. I had the wheels balanced at two different tire shops (which got better each time), but the problem still existed. I went to this Firestone and they resolved the problem right away!! Not only that, with their courtesy service, I was able to drop my car off, they took me back to work, AND picked me up when they finished!! It's as bad as everyone says! I usually don't believe in reviews, but STAY AWAY! I went in because my air pressure light turned on, and I got the car back with the light still on. So, a week later I took it in again (to be sure!) - and one of the mechanics threw a fit in front of me because he said he saw it last week, and there was nothing wrong with it (super unprofessional, and uncomfortable). The man up front told me he'd get another mechanic to check it, and turns out, my spare was low on air. That fixed the situation, but it took TWO visits, and 3 hours for them to figure out that the spare was the problem. Never EVER going back. read more

I went in there on a Monday morning to get new tires for my 1966 mustang. I was greeted with a friendly smile and got right down to business. I asked if the guy at the desk could come look and see if I would need all brand new tires. I knew I would but it was nice to know that he would come look. Everything was great!! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is I was a little freaked at the labor total for installing 4 tires and doing an alignment for my car. I've been in twice in the past 6 weeks with two cars and couldn't ask for better service. Both times I was greeted promptly, promised a realistic wait and my cars were delivered significantly faster than quoted. They have free wifi inside so I was able to get some work done while I waited. The complimentary water and keurig machine are nice touches since we're stuck there. The staff is friendly, helpful, and I really feel like I am not being taken advantage of here. I'm not sure when these guys every slow down, but I've now been in during the weekdays in the morning and afternoon and all of the bays have cars in them being worked on. The most notable customer service experience happened today when I came in to get my car inspected. Jordan remember me bringing in my dad's car several weeks ago and I remarked that they treated me right the first time so I thought it was only fair to bring my business here again. I filled out the Firestone survey after that visit and rated everything a 10 from my fantastic first trip and he thanked me for that as well. Great place to get ripped off! If you're willing to spend tons of money on cheap repairs, this is the place to go! I went in to ask for a diagnosis on my check engine light and was told "we can do that for you for 89.99. It'll take 2-4 hours". I was told it would cost between 189$-1,300$ for my engine repair. PLUS, they told me what else was wrong....the inner and outer tie rods to my car. They gave me a quote of 941.64$ for just the tie rods. I opted for a second opinion. I went to a local repair shop (Lopez auto repair) and they quoted me 225$. Turns out, my check engine light was a very small emissions warning due to an old faulty gas cap. They were looking to charge me 2,000$ to what came out to a TOTAL of 375$ after taxes! And the funny thing is, Firestone wanted to do both inner and outer tie rods when the local repair shop said my inner tie rods were fine! Yep, never going to firestone again. I was very frustrated when I walked out to my car, after working a double the day I took my Chrysler Crossfire to get the tires rotated at this Firestone location, to find that my 19" wheels had been swapped with my 18" and were now on the front of my car rubbing against the wheel well!!!!!!! ***Please note that these are not weather specific tires and do not need to be on a certain side of the vehicle.*** I couldn't believe that a technician who is supposed to specialize in tires could make such a large error, one that could have potentially caused MAJOR damage to my vehicle. I have never had better service. I had some issues with a location down the street, but everyone here really helped to get my vehicle back to where it should be. Everyone I spoke to was incredibly friendly and professional. I dealt mainly with Mark B. and Trevor. I never went without knowing what was happening with my car, a they were always calling with updates. Whenever Mark and Trevor called they gave me thorough explanation. I really appreciate this. I don't think I have ever taken my car somewhere and had such an in depth conversation. It was important to them, and to me, that I understood what was wrong with my vehicle. They were so patient and ALWAYS friendly. Whenever I answered a call I knew I would be met with an positive, upbeat person on the other end. That was so incredibly refreshing.
