I took my car in and had the brakes replaced on July 6th approximately 6 1/2 hours later I was told the car was ready to go. I drove the car home without incident parked it in front of my house the next morning my left front tire was completely flat . My family and I were going on vacation that day so I decided to pack my my wife's car for the family vacation. When we got back I inspected the tire and noticed that the wheel/rim was broken. I wasn't going to leave a review but came to yelp and saw how bad the reviews were so thought "they need to be better". If they Don't know there is a problem they can't do anything about it. I scheduled an online appointment for an alignment check. Purchased a lifetime alignment from fire store so come in periodically for a check. The appointment was confirmed and I arrived on a Sunday. Upon arrival, they said we canceled your appointment and scheduled for another day because "our good tech is not here today". I explained that I scheduled this on the weekend because I work. We agreed to reschedule for a lunchtime appointment during the week. Arrived at my scheduled time for the alignment check and it was at least a half hour before they got started. So I was waiting for well over an hour before my scheduled alignment check was completed. I noticed my car was completed and went to the counter and stood there while two service managers talked to each other for several minutes before asking me if I needed help, I said my car is done and they went and got my keys to check me out. They proceeded to ask me for my credit card when I explained I had a lifetime alignment which took several more minutes for them to cancel and rebook the transaction. I'm in agreement with a number of the reviews here that say service here is not very good to say the least. You guys really need to work on efficiency and customer service. Set up an appointment to have them inspect it on a Sunday morning. Dropped it off only to be told a couple hours later that they can't fix it and we would need come get the car and re-schedule. Dropped it back off a few days later and was told everything looked tight and it should be fine. A week later the clicking from the brakes started again. We weren't able get another appointment scheduled immediately due to some scheduling conflicts. Eventually the clicking stopped, but then evolved into a rattling sound from the same area. After taking it to a different mechanic for an oil change, we asked that they look into the rattling. They found that one of the caliper bolts on the new brakes was cross-threaded and couldn't be tightened properly or removed without damaging the caliper. They recommended that we return to Firestone to have them correct the mistake since it would likely need a new caliper. After speaking to the Firestone manager Chris, he said mistakes happen and people have bad days. Unacceptable response. This is negligence and just horrible quality assurance, not to mention dangerous! I resolved never to take my cars to them again. Fast forward a few weeks to an issue with another vehicle we had serviced there, replacement of a lower control arm on the passenger side front wheel. The repair seemed to completed correctly until we encountered a flat tire on the same passenger front wheel that was removed for the control arm replacement. While attempting to install a spare wheel, we noticed 1 of the lug nuts was a different size than the rest. Not only that, it couldn't be removed. Finally had to take the car to Goodyear for evaluation and a new tire. They pointed out that 2 of the lug nut posts were cross threaded which caused them to break when the lugnuts were removed. These would need to be replaced for $100. They said the last mechanic that worked on the car is responsible for the issue - Firestone on Wornall!!! So, we've had 2 separate cars in for service in the past 4 months at this Firestone location and both times bolts were installed incorrectly / cross-threaded. If you value the quality of work being performed on your car or at the very least are concerned about repairs being completed correctly, avoid Firestone on Wornall!! read more

I hate to be this guy... But I set up a reservation 1 week in advance with advanced notes on what I needed. When I arrived on a Sunday morning - first thing - to hand off my car, a kind man got us in and proceeded to see my notes. He then told me they couldn't do the work today as "they had only one guy who does diagnostics." Fair enough with the exceptions: 1. Why not read the notes sent by your customers and understand in advance if you can't do the work, maybe call them? 2. Sunday morning is a commitment... again, they should be as committed as their customers who were there before the doors open. 3. Just disappointed as the place was a parking lot... literally cars in sideways which when I pulled up I knew it was going to be a *&^( show... but went against my best judgement. Never again... stay away. Do yourself a favor and find a good local mechanic or suck it up and use a dealership. Horrible service! We've been going to this firestone since 2005 and the last four or five years service has gone down so, so much. We bought tires from them and pay for the warranty. One of the tires was low so we made an appointment that was a week away and then they took 48 hours to return the car to us. We still had problems so we asked them to correct it and it's been over 24 hours and not only the car is not ready but when we call we get treated badly and we were told that if we want to change it ourselves, we were welcome to do it Definitely never using them again read more

For over 20 years, my wife and I have bought several full sets of tires for both of our vehicles from this store. Recently, I called to inquire about a new set of tires. The person I talked to could not have been less helpful. He spoke very little , offered no help and seemed agitated when I continued to try to get the info I needed from him. The following week I decided to try again, luckily, another employee answered, we decided on the tires I needed, was told they were in stock and told that If I brought my car in end of day and left it overnight they would have it done the next day. When I took the car in, the the guy behind the counter was the original person I had spoke to the previous week ( I could recognize his voice). Again, he had a bad attitude, ignored some of my questions . Tried to change the sale price that I was given over the phone earlier that day. He then, told me the tires I needed were listed in his computer as in-stock- but that " he didn't trust the system " and needed to check the inventory. But he could not do that until closing time since he was the only one in the office. I do not understand why he couldn't ask one the 5 mechanics in the garage to check? I explained that I could leave the car that night. But not the following night if the tires needed to be ordered. The next day after receiving not calls that morning - I called and he told they did not have the tires and had ordered them ( requiring the car to be kept another night). We had already had the conversation that I could not leave the car there another day. I told him to cancel the order and I would come pick up the car. When I got there, I got the same rude attitude from him. He got my keys and handed them to me without looking at me or saying anything. I had always be happy with the store past, but this new employee was the WORST. I honestly felt like he was trying to drive business away. And he did. Do not take your vehicle there! They canceled my first two confirmed appointments, and did not let me know until AN HOUR BEFORE my appointment was scheduled. BOTH TIMES. When I took my car in at 7:00am, they said forgot about it when I called to check on it! Then they said they did a oil change which I did not order, and said my A/C check which I was told would be $9.99 with a coupon was actually $225! When I said I couldn't afford it they said they already took all of my Freon out, so I had to do it and pay the amount. They said they were open until 7pm, but when I showed up at 6, they had a sign on the door that said they were closed early for a meeting and the doors were locked! My simple oil change and AC check cost me over $300! They were also supposed to change my transmission fluid but they said they couldn't because they "couldn't find the hole"!!! Had a blow out and went to get a tire replaced. They call and let me know the opposite tire was on the wires, fine order the other. Pick up my car and they have two different brands and size tires on!? Take it in the following friday to get the correct tire on. They seemed busy so I left my Keys with JJ and told them they can take care of it anytime this weekend so long as it's done by Sunday. I call sunday to check and they tell me my car isn't in the lot?! Get hung up on. Then the next day they say they can't do it all their lifts are down. All it takes is one jack to swap the tire! 12 phone calls, 6 personal visits, 3 headaches, and $750 to change two tires. Go anywhere else the managers are incompetent. Do not go here. My sister and I were stranded in KC due to 2 flat tires. We called about 30 tire places while waiting for roadside assistanc, and only came to this place because JJ up front said they "might close at 5, or 6, or 7, we can tell you whether we can when you get here" which is ridiculous, just tell us you can't then. So by the time roadside assistance got to us they had already decided to close. We dropped the car off after being told they "weren't sure what time in the morning we can help you, since we're short staffed and have appointments all day. Get here as soon as possible though". So we show up at 8:30am the next day, and are told it's going to be a couple of hours but he doesn't really know. We ask for the keys since all of our stuff from travelling is in the car, and they apparently misplaced them. I believe they had them with another woman's car, all i know is it took 15 minutes for them to just find OUR keys to OUR car. It took a couple of hours which we expected, suprised it didn't take longer. When we asked what they think we could've possibly hit for the tires to deflate so quick, "I don't know you tell me" was the response we got. On top of the fact that they didn't even rotate tires when putting the new ones on. I completely understand the stress of being short staffed, but that unorganized and unhelpful is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. My sister and I were in a crappy situation during a bad week, and the trouble and terrible customer service from this place was just the cherry on top. We noticed a slow leak in my son's driver's side front tire and after looking closer, noticed a nail buried in the tire. I've had many service experiences with this particular Firestone branch and it's close to home, so we walked in on Sunday morning with the intent of having the puncture hole repaired. I was told they could get me in, but not until Wednesday. Fine. We don't drive the car a ton anyway. Dropped the car at 7:45am on Wed and got a call at 11:15am that they couldn't repair the tire because the puncture was on 'the crown'? Firestone recommended 2 new tires at a cost of around $340. Funny thing is...I told my son that Firestone would do this. They would try and oversell us instead of simply fixing the problem. I promptly told them 'no thanks' and picked up my car and took it to a different shop a half mile down the road. They had me patched up and out the door in 15 minutes. Cost of $25. Repair guy said..."it was just a tiny little screw imbedded in the rubber" and I was all fixed up and ready to go. Noticed a bulge in the sidewall of my passenger tire and went in right away for a replacement. The lady that greeted and took care of me was professional, kind, and thorough. Wasn't oversold anything (I always dread that part). Very sensible pricing on the tire, they had it in stock, and she told me it would take about an hour. An hour later, a friendly and professional gentlemen checked me out and again no frills or overselling happening. Definitely one of the more positive car repair experiences I've had. My one major complaint is every time we take our cars here for the state required inspection they find at least one random rod or something that needs to be replaced for about $175. It's such a money grab. Our cars are nicer than half the cars out on the roads of this city and they ALWAYS can manage to find something. I had the appointment made weeks ahead of time showed up bright and early to drop my vehicle off. They close at 5 on sundays. I received a call at three saying they couldn't get to my car. I've been here nearly 4 hours and have been staring at my completed car for almost and hour. I was told it would take 1.5 hours to change my tires. How long does it take to fill out a form and bring the keys. I finally went up to the counter for the second time and my car wasn't even on their list as completed. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED (TWICE!!) Lacking true customer service. I've been using this Firestone for years but it's customer service has gotten so bad recently I won't be going back. You can barely get an appointment within a week. Twice when I dropped it off first thing in the morning, they didn't call all day. Most recently, at the end of the day 1, I called them and they told me they didn't get to it. The guy on the phone was unaffected by my attempt to explain the need for them to please call me so I could make arrangements since that's my only car. The second day I spoke to them at 9am, and they were "on it. " 7 Hours later, I'd ridden my bike in the heat (I'm 54 years old) to an appointment across the street from Firestone and saw my car in the parking lot. I had not gotten any call from them with a diagnosis or plan of action. When I went in (after my appointment) I was told THEY DIDN'T GET TO IT!! They had it TWO DAYS. No communication with me. WORST FIRESTONE. Not recommended. I will never go back. And I purchased the "lifetime" tire rotation with my last tire purchase from them. Not worth it. Now I will have to start over after I lost an entire week with an alignment problem that is potentially very dangerous. read more

I needed a state inspection done and even though they don't normally do state inspections on weekends they were happy to fit me in within the hour. Got shocks and struts put on, was told they would be ' Monroe ' brand. Went to pick up car and noticed it was sitting really high in front, pointed this out to Chris the manager and also pointed out that there was nothing on work order about Monroe parts and he pointed to the serial number for the shocks ( which turned out to be a discount brand owned by Monroe) and said " it's right there with the serial number. He did not however point to the part number for the struts which turned out to be Duralast from Auto Zone. There is also a vibration under acceleration coming from somewhere in front end that was not there before strut install. Have been up to store a couple of times and have not heard from them, I think Chris ( the manager ) is hoping I will just go away but that's not what I have in mind. read more

I changed to my temporary spare and drove the tire to Firestone after discovering tiny nail file/knife blade in the tire I picked up on Holmes... careful out there, folks! : ) One of the desk guys looked at it and thought I would need a new tire [make it two to match]. I asked him if he would have the shop take it apart to inspect for a patch application first. He agreed. $25 later I am rolling. And here is the deal... my next set of tires I am buying here. Just had my tires "balanced" there, got on interstate, didn't feel one bit different, drove it to Goodyear, they said my balance was totally off. I didn't even tell them it had been in a shop the day before for same thing until afterwards, when I was picking it up. Not to mention, Firestone charged me 80.00, Goodyear did it for FREE. Constant disappointment, won't be back again. I am updating this because I was contacted almost immediately after writing this. I brought my car in because it the wheel has been shaking and the alignment seemed off. An hour or so after dropping my car off, I get a phone call from them suggesting I get four new tires. That's obviously a hit that nobody wants to hear. I talked to them about different options and pricing and they did not make me feel pressured one bit. In fact, they ended up helping me quite a bit. With me being single, and my brother and dad being out of town who would normally help with this kind of thing, I feel super comfortable coming back here for any car needs in the future.
