Brake caliper bolt not tightened, cross threaded and caused caliper to rattle

Took one of our vehicles here for new front brakes. After service was complete, we noticed a clicking sound from the passenger side front wheel while coming to a stop. Set up an appointment to have them inspect it on a Sunday morning. Dropped it off only to be told a couple hours later that they can't fix it and we would need come get the car and re-schedule. Dropped it back off a few days later and was told everything looked tight and it should be fine. A week later the clicking from the brakes started again. We weren't able get another appointment scheduled immediately due to some scheduling conflicts. Eventually the clicking stopped, but then evolved into a rattling sound from the same area. After taking it to a different mechanic for an oil change, we asked that they look into the rattling. They found that one of the caliper bolts on the new brakes was cross-threaded and couldn't be tightened properly or removed without damaging the caliper. They recommended that we return to Firestone to have them correct the mistake since it would likely need a new caliper. After speaking to the Firestone manager Chris, he said mistakes happen and people have bad days. Unacceptable response. This is negligence and just horrible quality assurance, not to mention dangerous! I resolved never to take my cars to them again. Fast forward a few weeks to an issue with another vehicle we had serviced there, replacement of a lower control arm on the passenger side front wheel. The repair seemed to completed correctly until we encountered a flat tire on the same passenger front wheel that was removed for the control arm replacement. While attempting to install a spare wheel, we noticed 1 of the lug nuts was a different size than the rest. Not only that, it couldn't be removed. Finally had to take the car to Goodyear for evaluation and a new tire. They pointed out that 2 of the lug nut posts were cross threaded which caused them to break when the lugnuts were removed. These would need to be replaced for $100. They said the last mechanic that worked on the car is responsible for the issue - Firestone on Wornall!!! So, we've had 2 separate cars in for service in the past 4 months at this Firestone location and both times bolts were installed incorrectly / cross-threaded. If you value the quality of work being performed on your car or at the very least are concerned about repairs being completed correctly, avoid Firestone on Wornall!!

I do business with Goodyear because I expect a certain degree of competence and integrity. I can buy tires anywhere (even a Walmart). So I go to the Wornall location to BUY A SET OF TIRES. I am quoted a multi tire price. Amd promised an alignment if I need it. First problem when I pick it up it's 37 degrees out of alignment and they want me to take it like that, saying they can't align it. So I have to wait an additional three days for the manager to fix that. Then after I get home I notice the spare is NOT even the same size as the tires they put on. I don't like that and call to get my spare tire matching what they just put on. He says he'll do it for the same tire price as the $800 of tires I just bought a few days ago. A multi tire purchase. But when I get in there he's up charging and charging me to mount the tire. NOT WHAT WE AGREED TO. And he claims free mounting is only for multi tire purchases. I just bought $800 worth of tires in this same location a couple days ago. Not to mention he said he would do it for the same price. These guys are incompetent and they DO NOT honor their agreements or responsibilities to customers. They have seen my last dollar! Purchase here at your own risk. SHAME ON YOU GUYS. How short sided. I own 7 vehicles. And buy a lot of tires. BUYER BEWARE!

I waited nearly 2 hours to get into a service bay. Once I finally pulled in, I was not informed by the worker named Micah that they didn't have the proper oil for my car. Instead, someone (Caitlynn) left to go pick it up while I continued waiting--without explanation. I only found out 30 minutes later when they returned. If I had been told upfront, I would've gone somewhere else. That alone tells me they don't have the equipment or experience to properly service BMWs and were just trying to make a sale. Worse, my receipt claimed a full checklist of services was performed--checking tire pressure, fluid levels, air filters, windshield wipers, lights, etc. None of those were actually done (ex. The reciept claims my tires were aired to 32, I ran my tire pressure monitor to find one was at 34, one at 39, one at 31 and one at 32). I watched the entire time from inside my vehicle, and none of those tasks were performed. That's dishonest and misleading. Then, as I drove away, I heard a clicking noise under my car. I returned immediately, and the manager Kris had me wait in line again. Eventually, I was told by Kris my skid plate was damaged and couldn't be reattached because they didn't have the hardware. Before my visit, the skid plate was secure and silent. After their service, it was detached and left in their shop because it wouldn't fit in my trunk. Now I have to return a third time just to get it reattached--and that's assuming they even get the correct parts. Update: When I came back the next day, Kris the manager who claimed he would be there to make it right was in fact NOT there and they still did NOT have the proper hardware to reattach my skid plate that they broke, resulting in me leaving the third time with my skid plate in my back seat. No one took responsibility for the damage. No apology. No offer of a discount or refund. Just delays, deflection, and a subpar experience. If this location can't stock the right oil, can't provide basic service checks, and damages parts without accepting responsibility, they have no business working on BMWs--or any car, frankly. - They didn't stock the correct oil or inform me. - They claimed to do safety checks that were never done. - They broke my skid plate and couldn't fix it. - They failed to communicate at every step. I was had to return three times just to correct what should've been a routine oil change. I do not recommend this location. Also avoid the three employees KRIS, MICAH, and CAITLYNN at all costs. I'll also be filing a formal complaint with Valvoline corporate.

I've felt so compelled to write 2 reviews in my entire life. This is number 3. I've been here…read morebefore and it's a little more expensive than your typical auto shop, but it's a local business and I like to support them when I can. I recently took my car to get its oil changed because I don't have time to do it right now, and it's the middle of winter so I thought this would be more convenient. Long story short, I go to pick up my car for just an oil change and they tell me it's gonna cost $108. I'm in disbelief. The oil and filter is $40 tops. I'm like, "why in the world is it so expensive??" They tell me they put additional antifreeze and windshield wiper fluid in my car. My car is brand new. It didn't need additional fluids, nor did I ask for them. I said, "so you guys just surprise customers with additional services and charge them more?" They say that's part of their service. That's insane. They upcharged me for things I didn't want, didn't need, without my permission. THEN the guy tells me "it turns out I didn't charge you for any oil last time..." Are you kidding me?? That's not my problem! Can you imagine? "I didn't do my job last time, so I figured I'd screw you over this time around." Absolutely insane. I love Brookside. I go out of my way to support local businesses. But this local business is one that I hope goes out of business.

Brookside 66 You could start with a 50% refund! Doubtful so…read morehere are the facts. I requested new plugs and wires, an oil change and to check the breaks. Brookside 66 charged me over $1,300. They wanted to do diagnostics that were not needed. It specifically says in the summary further diagnostics are needed for the breaks. On newer cars the brake pad life Is listed, and I requested they take a look at them while they had it. I was informed about what I already knew and declined their further diagnostics request. They also said break fluid had traces of moisture though I gave no instructions for this test. I could tell from the phone calls it was quickly turning into a rip-off. Also, according to the write up they said the back plug was striped out and they could not get it back all the way and did not have the equipment to fix that. It's highly likely they striped it since the vehicle has 70k miles and has never had plugs put in or worked on, so Brookside 66 is the only one that has touched the plugs since the factory and is thus likely liable for damages. I was charged $600 for 4 hours of labor. Oil change and break inspection might take 30 minutes which leaves 3.5 hours for plugs. In no universe does it take 3.5 hours for a professional mechanic to change 8 spark plugs. Per the internet the higher end of mechanic wadges is $40 per hours but it appears to me like $150 per hour at Brookside 66. Finally, they did not even reset the oil life on the vehicle.
