I took my 2007 Cadi DTS to Firestone on Bannister Rd in KCMO on 09-12-2025 to repair a cracked or broken brake line. Under work order#250453. Prior to 09-12-25 I had the vehicle up a Firestone to check the brakes for a trip out of town. I find it hard to believe that they didn't see any kind of leak during this time. They kept my vehicle for almost a month and I have still been unable to drive the vehicle safely due to the peddle going all the way to the ground. I called the corporate office multiple times requesting a call from the Regional Manager and they never called me back, no once. Perhaps this will prompt them to contact me and get my vehicle back in working condition. I spend way to much money at FIRESTONE over the years for them to treat a customer this way. read more

Called to schedule a state vehicle inspection, and I confirmed on the call that it would only take an hour. I reiterated that if it would be more than an hour, I'd need to schedule for another time, which they reassured they would be able to handle it. I show up half an hour early, to which they say they can't guarantee it will be done even in two hours. I then reschedule for the following day. When I return for the rescheduled appointment, they said they contacted me (no missed calls) to request that I come in early and that the technician 'had just left' and wouldn't be able to do the inspection. I then reschedule again. I show up for my third appointment, to which they say I'm not even scheduled for. I then make eye contact with the person that was supposed to reschedule me to which they then state they can fit me in. I then wait 3 hours for them to perform the inspection. Firestone then state that there needs to be approximately $1.5k in repairs to get it passing. Upon taking the vehicle to another mechanic, they were able to fix all issues for under $1k. Also, the people that respond to these reviews, save your apology. I see countless negative reviews and if you genuinely cared about the issues, you would work on improving staff, systems, training, etc to actually improve your experience. read more

I  brought my car in for an oil change, alignment, balance and rotation three weeks ago. When I walked in 3 hours later, my car was up on a rack and they said they didn't have a filter, I brought it in the next day and after 2 hours, I called and they said they broke tools trying to change the filter, but they balanced and rotated the tires. I took my car to the dealership to change the oil. Today I am sitting in a different Firestone and learned that the reason my tires aren't holding pressure is three of the rims are cracked. I am shocked that when I had my car balanced and aligned, they didn't catch that. There were even balancing weights on one of the cracks. I am lucky I still have tires attached. I have nothing good to say about Firestone. There are too many people (myself included) who have been scammed when they take a vehicle to Firestone. I took my Facebook Marketplace truck to Firestone for a state inspection, and after about 30 minutes they had spotted over $6,000.00 in required repairs to pass an inspection, including a full Firestone tire package. I knew the truck needed some work, so I took the quote from Firestone to a mechanic I trust and asked him to quote me on the same diagnoses. He quoted me for $2000.00. Do not go to Firestone. They will rip you off thousands of dollars for things that do not need to be fixed on your vehicle or for things they make up to trick you. Find a mechanic you trust. read more

He said it's not his problem or fault, refused to give me a refund for the servifr. Refused to simple patch up my tire since it's a big bolt from their building. I came in with a tire that wasn't holding air and asked them to patch it, if possible. I got conflicting messages from the mechanics. One told me they couldn't patch it because of the location and then another said it was because I used fix a flat. Regardless, I had an almost brand new tire in my trunk because I replaced all 4 last year. The extra tire was less than 3 months old and you couldn't see any wear on it. They refused to mount the new tire and wanted me to buy a $275 tire plus labor. I immediately called several other tire shops who confirmed they would be more than happy to mount my tire. As a woman, it's disgusting to see places like this take advantage. When I went to confirm that the xtra tire was barely worn I noticed they had new brake pads in a box sitting ready next to my car... those were replaced a year ago as well. While I waited 2 hours for them to tell me this I witnessed another young lady pick up her car after an oil change and she came back because the wiper fluid was still completely empty. Then a gentleman came to pick his car up because they called and said it was ready... when he arrived they told him they actually weren't ready. Unfortunately, they've proven in multiple scenarios that they don't operate with integrity so beware. read more

Car broke down overnight and this was one of the only places with a 24 hour drop box, lot to leave my car, and close to my apartment. They called right away in the morning and I was able to get diagnostics and service, the people on the phone where friendly patient and helpful. It was a little spend-y but they got my battery replaced and everything works like new again. Was able to pick it up later in the day and I couldn't be more happy to have my car back. read more

Took my car in for an oil change and suddenly my car can't start any more be my "battery was dead when I brought it in". I stated my car that morning drove to work started it after work and drive it to the shop. Started it again at the shop and parked it around back. I find it very strange that my car only needed an oil change and my car started fine that day and has never had issues and now the battery has issues once whoever handled my vehicle. I will not be taking my vehicles back to this shop especially after I confronted the shop and they told me they would jump start my car and I accepted. I found problems that were hidden until you took apart the wheel hub. 1. The reassembly was done incorrectly with missing parts. 2. The wheel hub gasket was torn to shreds while removing the CV Axle, which resulted in rust throughout the wheel hub. 3. When I called and talked to the "manager", he justified the botched job with the fact that most cars don't seal off the hub. This wasn't the first problem with service there. I've paid thousands, trusting these guys with my truck. The response I got tells me that I'm right to never return. My money will stay in my pocket and I'll do the work myself. I've had to buy more new parts, new gasket, new cap, new crown for the bolt to capture the cotter pin properly. They kept the old CV Axle, which should have been returned to me which is actually a $500 part from Toyota that could be easily reworked with new axle boots. I also have to pay to get the gasket pressed properly into the hub. I would have been better off doing this myself. The proper response from the manager would have avoided another bad review of this business. When I'm paying you, I want better than whatever you call this. Don't trust these guys to touch your vehicle. read more

Firestone got my Missouri safety inspection done quickly and staff was friendly until I went to drive off and noticed what looked like white paint on my dash that had not been there before. I brought it to a staff member's attention who said it was from a worker "peeling off a sticker" and then pointed out how my dash was generally sticky anyway. I mentioned that I could (thankfully) wipe off the white smudges with my finger so there's no reason they could not have wiped it up. I know occasionally things are missed and I wasn't looking for them to detail my whole car, but an offer to clean up their mess after I pointed it out would have been nice. This Firestone does the bare minimum and then dips a little below that. read more

Took my car in three weeks ago to have a flat replaced (no other problems with my car) they told me I needed two new tires. After three days I finally got my car back. The next day I noticed a loud noise that would grow louder the slower the car got. I took it back and after three days they told me I had another flat and needed my whole wheel replaced. After 9 days I got my car back AGAIN. But... the noise was worse than when I took it in. So I took it back, for a third time. They called me and when I explained my frustration with being charged $1000. They recommended another repair that "might" fix the problem. And quoted me another $2000. So I decided to go pick the car up and take it somewhere else. When I got in my car after picking it up, they had thrown everything out of my consul and glove box and trashed my vehicle. I would give no star if i could. I paid for lifetime alignment, they could never do it right, told me to change tires. I let them do it. They used equipment in my trunk to change tire but didn't put it back, mess my car with oil everywhere, but I didn't know why my car had trouble right after i left the shop, and the warning light was on, so brought it back. They said the car need rod replacement cost more than 1 thousand, and electronic mess up which cause the warning on all the time. The total was 2k2. I brought my car to another place, OMG. After realizing that I had a "bubble" on the outside of my tire, I realized that I needed to get it fixed ASAP for safety reasons. I called Firestone because it's quite close to my house and they were able to set me up for an appointment the next morning. I dropped my car off around 8:10 and then got dropped off at work in North Kansas City. They say that they only drop off in the Downtown area but they're very willing to go slightly further if need be. They ended up calling me an hour later saying that my car was ready to pick up whenever... this was pretty awesome because although it's a simple tire change, I know they're busy. THEY make a scheduling mistake and they make no attempt to make it right! I should have checked their ratings, it's all clear to me now. I live downtown but work in OP Kansas. I choose to support my local businesses. I schedule a vehicle inspection for Thursday. I call Sunday and explain to the scheduler (I'm told later has worked there over 10 years) I have to leave town on Thursday and would there be any chance I could obtain an inspection on Tuesday or Wednesday if I dropped my car off the night before and left it all day ( to get to at their convenance) He said that would not be a problem and I confirmed I would be there by 7 PM to settle my bill. Again the scheduler ( who has worked there over 10 years) states this would not be a problem. I give all this detail to show we in fact had a very specific conversation. I show up with my car on Monday evening, to drop it off for my Tuesday appointment (the day he picked vs Wednesday) and low and behold I was told I could not have my car inspected because it was by appointment only. I told him about the Sunday phone call and change to Tuesday (my appt was still on Thursday) but to no avail. The gentleman at the counter stated without my name on the schedule at a specific time it could not be done. I explained the appointment was made made but no specific time was discussed because I was leaving it all day ( open to close). Obvious my appointment on Thursday was not moved to Tuesday by no error of my own and he refused to allow the work. I asked since this was their error could they get me in on Wednesday and the answer was no. Will I or my husband ever return to this business? The answer is no. I highly recommend Goodyear on Swift. The service manager is Jeff. When I explained my situation he was sympathetic, curious and got me scheduled in before I had to leave town he assured me that he would personally make sure I was taken care of. Here for the 3rd time for the same issue..( 3rd time is a charm, right?). But been a customer for years. Anyway, first time ( for this issue) I was here it was just for a Flat tire ( to which I have a warranty ) I was told ( by John) they were very busy and it would take about 2 hours.. I left. A week later came back for the flat tire and this time a state inspection.. I was told I would have to drop my car off, that it would take at least 3 hours and they were very busy that day (morning at 7am, John said to make an appointment after pretty much letting me know it was close to impossible to take care of my car that day). I made an appointment for 5 days later. Meanwhile I asked around and was recommended Northtown Auto Center in NKC, I made an appointment online, they called me right away, they made me an appointment for the next morning, went in at 8am and was out at 8:15am. I came to find out, my car doesn't really need an inspection but they did check it and I paid for that service .. they helped with a smile in their face, and it didn't take them 3 hours to find out I didn't need to drop my car off for 3 hours ... while I was there I asked about a flat tire , and I was told it would take maybe 20 minutes, but I still wanted to come to Firestone due to the warranty. I come today to my appointment.. I tell them I just need the tire fixed and they tell me I have to drop the car off and it would take 2 hours.. I told them all I needed was a tire to be fixed, I had a appointment and I was actually early to it.. I almost left. Nate clearly saw I was upset ... and apologized for what had happened before .. ( and btw, I was told by John when I made my appointment that I would have to pay around $55 when I came back .. $12.00 inspection, but he wanted to charge for something that was free to me since I have a full warranty on my tires ) .. Nate checked the system and got me in, and explained it would be no charge .. Seriously , how long does it take to get a nail out of a tire when you have a whole garage full of machines that do that job for you. I understand is too early and there's only one tech on the floor, but I've worked in this industry for a long, long and I know for a fact, a flat tire doesn't take more than 20 minutes.. especially if I have an appointment... I KNOW John would NOT have taken care of this .. due to the fact he's the one who didn't really try nor took the time to see if he could help the first 2 times I was here... today I just got really upset .. what's the point of being a "loyal" customer and spending my money here, if we are going to be treated like peasants. Nate tried .. and idk what he said or did, but I'm hopefully getting that tire finally fixed... By the way, it really sucks that the managers here, treat customers like they are not needed ( and by that I mean JOHN) ... It really hits me like a ton of bricks .. We brought our 2014 Ford Escape here on 1/22/19 to get a hole plugged after running over a bolt. Waited an hour, and were charged $20 for the plug. The work was signed off on by someone named Luis. A few days later after hearing noise from that same tire, we noticed that the bolt was STILL IN THE TIRE. They did not perform the work at all. They did nothing. And still charged us after an hour wait. We brought the vehicle back on 1/27/19 and asked to have it plugged for real. The tire manager, Derek, didn't seem very surprised or apologetic, but promised to fix it and said it would be ready in an hour and a half at the most. We returned after an hour and a half and the work had not even been started. The tire manager, Derek, then sent someone out to pull the vehicle in and start work. We are still sitting here waiting, and are EXTREMELY dissatisfied. read more

In essence, that whole madness was a little bit of their fault. So why the added, elusive 5th star? These guys completely admitted their error. They replaced my engine with a newer, used one (went from 80,500 to 26,000, dang) and paid for all the expenses...this includes towing, labor, new engine...all of it. The honesty at this place really, really saved my life. I have no idea how I'd pay for a new engine right now. Will never do business with these guys again. I have heard that this business scams its customers into buying repairs, and today I know firsthand that this is true. This morning I dropped my car off for a routine MO. inspection and oil change. I received a call this afternoon that the car could not be passed because it had some moisture in the headlight lens (it's been raining basically the entire month of May 2015) and that the part would be 1200.00 to replace plus labor. Are you kidding me? Needless to say I declined the ludicrous quote and am picking up the vehicle. The headlight works fine and will pass inspection anywhere else. Took my vehicle for a oil change and they kept on trying to take my oil pan drain plug out knowing it was hard to take off. Instead of telling me first, they kept on trying to take it off till my drain plug broke. They told me it was they aren't responsible for breaking it since the previous shop tightened it wrong. I still had to pay for my own tow since it was leaking oil and did not offer me anything else other than take my car out they're lot or pay the $2,000 to change my oil pan completely. read more

Went and got my alignment done here since I'm on the lifetime alignment plan. The first time I went in, they were way to busy and they were honest about it and asked if I'd like to come in a different time. I apprecited that honesty because then I could come back when it was better. So I did. It was great and easy. I really appreciated it. They were so friendly too. It turned out that my car was pulling because of a caliper problem that they suggested I do, and some other things too. They suggested a tie rod thing becuase they felt it was wobbly. But I later took my car to another two places, and my tie rod was perfectly fine (so I had my calipher replaced at a different place). read more

I set up an appointment a week in advance to get a state-required safety inspection. I was told it would be completed within 2 hours. I returned 4 hours later needing my car to get to a meeting. The inspection was not done, and a group of mechanics (who were sitting around chatting with each other) told me it would be impossible to complete in the next half hour I had to spare. I understand these inspections are not big revenue-producers, but this was putrid customer service. I found the staff here to be rude, and the wait times are terrible, even with an appointment. I was referred to this location to see if they could fix a noise that was in my dash, an actuator that a different location in CA did the work on. They only had one person that could do the work, and they allow that person to work whatever schedule they want so I had to schedule a rental car to get my car looked at. That cost me $150. Then they told me that they confirmed that the actuator making the noise had a different part number than the actuator that was replaced in CA. Which is odd, because the store that referred me to this location said they talked to the team in CA and they failed to put the part number in so they couldn't confirm the exact part. I think the team at this location was just looking to increase their revenue by charging me another $800 plus parts to remove the dash and fix the noise, the same noise that was supposed to have been fixed by the team in CA. Because I was having such a hard time getting an appointment I had called the corporate help desk, I had to do this for months until I was eventually transferred to a VP of something, supposedly. If you're active duty military (like I am) or if you move a lot, I would encourage you to go somewhere else. While getting my rental car, the manager at that location told me that the same firestone store was responsible for maintenance on his fleet of cars, and they had problems with simple maintenance. Cars where the drain plug for the oil isn't properly tightened and more than once the oil has completely drained out of a car. The mechanics here I wouldn't trust my car to and the corporate and regional leaders I believe are incompetent and incapable of leading the stores in a way that allows for quality customer service. I was a firestone customer for several years, now I can only hope that these reviews cost the corporation as much or more than they cost me. read more
