The Firestone in Laplace are crooks. They try to mess over females. The men at the front desk are rude and try to play people like they are stupid. As of now we have had problems with them on 3 different times. A little back story, I'm one of them men that work a lot so I have my wife take care of things for me. As for working on cars I can do most things my self but due to time I pay some one to do it. I try to stay local and support St. John parish. First problem with Firestone. A few years ago I had my Wife take one of my cars in to have the tires change. They stated that I needed a frontend alinement. Even though the car was not pulling or had bad ware on the tires I was changing, I decided that the car as a lot of miles and most likely could use it. When we got the car back and picked it up late that evening the steering wheel was turned 90 degrees. So we had to spend hours there the next day having them fix it. Second problem. I had my wife take her truck to them to have the tires replaced. After she pick the truck up it had a vibration. She took the truck back and they told her that was normal ( the tires had to break in ). Note I have a big truck with 35 inch tires and it doesn't vibrate. When I got home from work I went drive the truck and there is no way they balanced the tires. We went back up to Firestone and at first they tried to tell me the same thing but I called them out on their BS. They took the truck in the back and fixed the problem. They said one tire was a little off. Third and final time. In December my wife took my daughters car in for new tires and they said she needed a new battery so my wife had them put a new battery in. I wish wouldn't have had them do that due to the battery being under warranty at one on parts store but oh well. On Friday my daughter took the car in due to the parts stores saying the battery is bad. With it in warranty this should be free of charge but they tried to sell her a new alternator for $1000.00. Note you can get an alternator for $100.00 on line or $200.00 at the parts store. So she turned them down and said she will have her boy friend replace it. They ended up charging her $80.00 to replace the battery. After the battery was replaced she drove the car strait home and parked it to have the alternator changed. After her boy friend changed the alternator she went drive the car to check it out and it started acting up again. She took it to the auto parts store and they said again the battery is bad so she when to Firestone and they guys were rude to her and said she should have had them change the alternator. When I called them after talking a few minutes they agreed she should not have been charged for the battery. I will never use them again this was the last straw. I should not have to get involved just to have a car serviced. read more

They told me my battery needed to be replaced when my battery turned out to be fine. Turned out I needed a new alternator. So I paid for a brand new battery when I didn't need to. read more

The Firestone in Laplace is a joke! I made an appointment a week ago and showed up for my 8:30am appointment only to be told that they weren't accepting any more vehicles. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. I don't even know where to begin! Unprofessional. SERIOUS lack of training. They have absolutely no clue what they are doing. When they promised to call you back to address an issue that they caused, and you don't hear from them for two days... then finally get in touch with them for the manager to just say ' oh I've been busy' is absolutely unacceptable. Now let's address the main issues. My mother had her car towed to their business to diagnose what the problem was. The tow truck driver, alerted my mother to having a bad battery. When the shop did the diagnostics they replaced the battery and told her that the head gasket was bad. And then told her that she needed a new engine. They told her that they could not do this work in their shop, but they could refer her elsewhere. She had the car towed back to my house. While in the process of picking up her car, the two gentlemen who were working that night, damaged her car while pushing it out of the bay. They did not alert her to the damage. They gave her the keys and said have a great night. She saw the damage and questioned them on it, and their response was ' Are you sure it wasn't there before it got here?' to which she responded that she would get the pictures from the tow truck to show that they were not there before. They made a phone call to their management who said they would give us a call which we never got. It took two days for us to finally get a manager on the phone, and for him to tell us that his staff told him a different story than what we were telling him. That we knew about the damage and saw it happen on scene. Now back to the diagnostics of the car. this entire experience put a bad taste in my mouth from the beginning so I had another mechanic look at the car. He found an oil leak, and learned that there was only 1.5 quarts in a car that should have almost 5.5 quarts of oil. We changed the oil at that point and fixed the leak. Car still won't start. NEW mechanic is not convinced that it's head gasket. We checked the battery. Battery is dead. This battery is less than a week old. Come to find out they installed a new battery, without a charge. But that's not all. They installed the wrong type of battery. This vehicle needs a ventilated battery, which is not what it got. Now we are being told that potentially the fuel pump is flooded. And that this is most likely because the car was continuously being started with no luck flooding the pump. So my mother paid for diagnostics that they did not fully perform, the wrong battery with a 0% charge, has new damage to the vehicle, and potentially new damage to parts of the car due to the negligence and ignorance of the staff at this establishment. They could recommend that she replace the engine all they want. What good an engine if the battery doesn't even work? Sounds to me like these people have no idea what they're talking about. And their poor reviews across every social platform reflect that knowledge. If James, the manager, can't even make time for a phone call of the pathetic performance of his staff(unfortunately the only name I got of one of the young men who busted up my mother's car was Mike. We did not get the other young man's name), then how do we expect them to have the proper time to diagnose problems under the hood? If I could give this place negative stars I would. read more

Firstly, I would like to point out the fact that I have been a loyal customer to Firestone in LaPlace since the mid-90's. I have purchased all of my tires from them and allowed them to perform service work on my family's vehicles for years so it pains me to write this. I had recently brought my truck to Firestone to have my EGT & ABS sensors replaced. I dropped my vehicle off early in the morning and when they ran a diagnostic, it showed that I had a faulty NOK sensor & that they would have to order the NOK sensor and the ABS sensor. After they ordered the parts, they called me and said that they were in and to bring my truck back in. They assured me that I was going to get it back that same day. They then called me to let me know that the parts weren't in and they would be in the next day so I left my vehicle with them overnight with the understanding that I would get it back the next day. I called the following afternoon to get an update, and they have still claimed that the parts weren't in yet and so my vehicle had to stay an extra day as they claimed that they were running into problems with getting parts, etc. I drove my vehicle home and allowed them the rest of the week to get the parts. I called on Thursday to verify that the parts are in fact in and if they had an opening for an appointment on Saturday to make the repairs to my vehicle so everything was set up. I dropped my vehicle off on Friday evening. Again, they said the parts are in and that it shouldn't take but a few hours. I called again on Saturday morning at 10:30 and they confirmed that the vehicle was going to be ready in 1-1.5 hrs and that I can make arrangements to pick the vehicle up. Firestone called me at 12:00 and told me that they had hit a 'SNAFU' and stated to me that upon fixing the last item on the worksheet [ABS sensor], they noticed that there were missing parts and that they wouldn't be in until Mon-Tues at the earliest. My truck had been down at Firestone for 5+ days waiting on these parts at this point. When in their customer lobby, in order to save face in front of the other customers, they had the audacity to try to turn the blame around on me and literally lied to my face and claimed that they never told me that the parts were in yet - even after confirming with them 3x on the phone that they were in in fact in before I brought my truck back. Even if what they say is true, why in the h*ll did they accept my truck and start working on it again on Saturday if all the parts weren't in yet? Why when they were working on my truck and I called at 10:30 to get an update, wasn't I informed then that all the parts weren't in at that time? They just told me the truck would be ready an 1-1.5 hrs! Makes absolutely zero sense. I told them to forget about the ABS sensor at this point and said I would take my truck elsewhere to fix it. They 'fixed' my NOK sensor but my check-engine light came back on only after a few days later and since the truck was under warranty now, I took it back to Firestone and told them about it. I had to leave my truck overnight so that they could run another diagnostic on it. After they called me the following day to pick my truck back up, they told me that they installed a faulty NOK sensor so they had to order new parts. They said it would be a few days for the parts to come in & that they would call me. After repeated follow-up phone calls, the parts finally came in over 3 weeks later. I brought my truck back to Firestone and they replaced the 'faulty' NOK Sensor. Fast forward another week, my check-engine light came back on again so I took it back to Firestone. It's important to know that by this point, I had a total of 4 different diagnostics ran before I took my truck back each time. Every report said I had a faulty EGT sensor and not once did any of them say the NOK sensor. They offered to run yet another diagnostic on it and told them that it was useless unless they stopped replacing the NOK sensor and replace the EGT sensor as I initially requested instead. I told them I felt they were mis-diagnosing my truck. They told me sarcastically, if I didn't like the work they were doing to take my truck to another Firestone in Metairie, about 30 miles away. At this point, Firestone has had my truck for roughly 9 days over the course of 2+ months - which I had to take off work while they were playing around with the NOK sensors, which took a total of 1.5 hrs to replace them each time btw. I was conversing with the store manager the whole time [MZ sp?]. As I absolutely couldn't stand his smug attitude any longer. I made a formal complaint with Firestone. I was told that the regional manager would call me back within 24-48 hrs. 5 days & several phone calls later, I'm still waiting. Firestone Complete Auto Care... can you explain how somebody can make an appointment for 9:30 to have a set of tires installed at one of your locations, arrive exactly on time, be rudely told by your staff that they did not make an appointment but that they "would be worked in", then not have their vehicle pulled into the shop until noon, and not be provided with an estimated time of completion? Considering experiences I've had with local competition, I was pleasantly surprised with the honest, quick and courteous service I experienced here. I had uneven wear (due to the fact that I rarely rotate the tires and sometimes carry heavy loads), but given the mileage on the vehicle I authorized an alignment. I was not charged for the alignment as it was not needed, according to the manager. Given the waiting time and expense of one of their competitors and the dishonesty of the other, I think Firestone will be seeing me again. read more
